Linksys PAP2T Voip adapter

I am using the Linksys PAP2T Voip adapter, how do I configure it to work with Skype?

You cannot. PAP2T is a SIP client (SIP is an open VoIP protocol), while Skype uses its own which is proprietary and not compatible with SIP.
I now see that there is a service named Skype Connect (previously known as SIP for Skype) which enables a SIP device, such as PAP2T, to connect with Skype using SIP trunks (trunk can be considered as a connection). However, it is a service oriented to businesses, so I suppose it won't be cost effective for a home account.
Another option is to buy a Skype enabled ATA, like Connect Me by FREETALK, which is an adapter similar to PAP2T but is directly compatible with Skype.
Hope this helped.

  • PAP2T VOIP phone adapter not working

My new Linksys PAP2T VOIP phone adapter will not work. When I install the adapter (I'm sure I have done this correctly), all I get is a slow blinking green power light and a fast blinking green internet light. I get no phone light, and I get no dial tone. Is my PAP2T defective? Or is something else going on? Can you recommend a fix?

The "User Guide" which comes with your PAP2T and you can read or is downloadable from Linksys says the following about the "Power Lite"
Green. The Power LED lights up when the Phone Adapter is powered on and connected to the Internet. It flashes when the Phone Adapter is not connected to the Internet. The LED also flashes when the Phone Adapter is booting up or upgrading its firmware.
It says the following about the "Internet Lite"
Green. The INTERNET LED lights up when there is an active connection through the port. If the LED is flashing, then there is traffic moving through that port.
It says the following about the "Phone Lite"
Green. The PHONE LED is solidly lit when a telephone or fax machine has an active or registered connection to your Internet phone service provider through the corresponding port. It flashes when the phone is being used or is off the hook.
Using logic, I would say the adapter may not connected to the internet and if it is, the adapter failed to register with your voip provider.

  • Port forwarding feature in Linksys VoIP adapter

    Hello,
I tried to use the port forwarding feature (in the Application tab), but could not get successful. I need to telnet to a Cisco router behind my Linksys VoIP Adapter, uses starting port=23, ending port=23 and ip is the Cisco router ip.
Let me know if I am missing anything. I tried the DMZ feature too, but still the same result.
When I am trying from outside I get this:
    termserver>telnet 75.156.137.224
    Trying 75.156.137.224 ...
    %Connection refused by remote host
If I configure the Cisco Router with NAT, I have no problem connecting from outside. I want the Linksys as the gateway, not the Cisco router. Any help would be highly appreciated.

What is the model number of your Linksys router? Make sure that you have the latest firmware on the device. Also make sure that you forward TCP port 23 for the IP address of the Cisco router coming from the DHCP server of the Linksys router or if you have a static, it has to be on the same subnet as Local IP address of the Linksys router.

  • E4200 - SIP ports blocked to/from Linksys SPA2102 VoIP ATA

The E4200 seems to block UDP ports to/from a Linksys SPA2102 ATA VoIP adapter.  I tried enabling SIP ALG and still lost dial tone by morning. I tried looking at the Admin logs to see which inbound / outbound ports are being blocked but the log functions on this router only seems to display outbound information with no specifics as to what ports or protocols are being blocked by the E4200.
Does anyone on this forum know what configurations to change on the E4200 to allow the transparent operation of the SPA2102 VoIP ATA behind it?
Any hope Cisco will fix the log functions to display useable and meaningful information needed to setup Application specific configurations?

  • WRT-610N and my VOIP adapter

So I've got my WRT-610n hooked up, replacing my WRT-54g, and so far it's working fine, with the one exception that my VOIP adapter doesn't work? If I unplug the router and the cable modem and re-plug them in, it works great, for about 5 minutes, then it doesn't recognize the phone anymore. I'm pretty sure it's not the VOIP adapter, although the power and internet lights are both lit on it. (voip is Linksys spa2102)
    Thanks for any suggestions.

It should ideally work, did you check the firmware on your router as it could a firmware problem...You should have Ver.1.00.02.10 Firmware, if not Download Firmware 7.27 MB, and Upgrade your router...See if this helps...Make sure you reset and re-configure your router after the Upgrade...

  • Using Linksys PAP2T with CISCO UC500

    Dear Sirs,
i am currently in the middle of an installation for one of my customers, and facing some problems...
the customer has 2 branches connected through a Microwave Link.
on his old site he has a Panasonic Analog PBX with 5 PSTN Lines and 10 Users + 1 Operator
in his new Branch we have Installed a CISCO UC500 With 4 FXO and 4 FXS Ports, he has 4 PSTN Lines + 10 Users + 1 Operator.
what he wants is that if someone dials in to the first branch, that the operator to be able to transfer him tp the second branch and vice-versa.
i was told that if i install a Linksys PAP2T Adapter in the first branch where the Panasonic PBX is present and take a line from the Panasonic to the PAP2T and then go out from the PAP2T using LAN to the Switch then the Microwave Connection,i would be able to link the Two Branches as in Phone Lines.
is That true and if so? how to do it?
cant seem to find anything in the PAP2T that shows that.
thank you for your support and have a nice day.
    Regards,
    Christian Abi Khalil

I think it is not possible with the PAP2T device. As this device dosent have that facility which are planning to use it. I think you need to look for some other device which support that kind of funcitions.

  • Linksys pap2t + dialplan + speeddial

I have Linksys pap2t N/A with the latest firmware 5.1.6(LS). My Line1 is registered with provider1 that uses
country_code+area_code+number for dialing. I use a very simple dial plan for this line (*xx|xx.). The *xx - is used to access my provider1 phonebook. I also use speeddial (with enable ip dialing) and have some sip uri entered on User1 tab. Everything is very simple and works.
Several days ago I have registered Line2 to provider2. Provider2 uses different dialing:
    00+country_code+area_code+number for dialing.
To make the dialing with Line2 similar to line1 I have made the dial plan for this line
    (#[x*]x.|:00>[1-9]x.|0:*>xx)
#[x*]x. - to dial any number starting with #
:00>[1-9]x. - to dial PSTN similar for Line1
    0:*>xx - to have quick access to provider2 IVR (balance) - *88
But with this dial plan I cannot use User2 speed dial numbers. It seems that one digit dialing is blocked by this dial plan. With the simple dial plan speed dial for Line2 works! But not with the one above.
Any help, ideas wil be appreciated. I want to have a dial plan without the need to dial 00 and with the ability to use speeddial.

what does the info tab show you after trying to dial using hte speed dial syntax?
look at the last called number for line 2.
there seems to be nothing wrong with the dial plan, maybe except for the missing less than sign.
    possibly just a forum strip.

  • Delete existing profile in Linksys PAP2 phone adapter!!!

Can any one please let me know how to delete the existing profile from the Linksys PAP2 phone adapter. It is not allowing to save the new profile. after updating the new profile, it will be there for couple mins then old profile is overriding the new one.
    Please help me with this.
    Thanks,

check if there is something on the Profile Rule paramater under Provisioning tab other than the default /init.cfg then delete it...it is possible that device resyncs to that profile which then brings back the old settings...

  • Linksys PAP2T G711 codec on simultaneous calls

Hi, PAP2T is using g711 on simultaneous call. I had forced the Line 1 & Line 2 to use g729 & g723 respectively. But still when u make the second call, (while first line is on call) it comes to the switch with g711.
Since the PAP2T used from asian country, g711 could not get that much bandwidth. It connects but quality is very poor.
Is there a way that I can configure to make linksys pap2t not to use g711 at any point of time. If anybody have a solution, please advise me..
    Product Name:PAP2T
    Software Version:5.1.1(LS)
    thanks

Go to page Line 1 or line 2. At the bottom you'll find dffernt protocol. Select g729 af force PAP2 to only ue this potocol by deselcting gthe others and y selecting only use prefer protocol.
have yo try to call the second line when the first is in use ? i thnk it's does'nt work !

  • E3000 to SPA2102 VOIP Adapter

I have seen this question asked, but never answerd http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/Linksys-E3000-cascaded-VoiP-router-not-working/td...
What is the best method (the one that works) to connect the E3000 with the SPA2102 phone adapter? Or, is it not possible? Thanks.

Wow. That is one REALLY messed up guide. I now have more questions than before I read the guide!
I am not at all familiar with networking. Please bear with me. I am trying to connect a Cisco E3000 with a SPA2102 voip router.
    1. From the guide, it appears I want to use a LAN-LAN setup. That would have the Voip router downstream from the E3000, right?
    2. The guide indicates the local IP address for what I will call the E3000 (since the guide does not reference a specific model, but instead refers to "router", "second router", "voip router", and "Linksys router", and references a different IP address for the non-voip router than used by the E3000) should be "on the same IP segment". Does this mean identical IP adddress, or does it mean setting the two at different IP addresses, such as the E3000 at its default setting of 192.168.1.1 and leaving the voip router at  its default of 192.168.0.1? Or would I need to change the Voip router to 192.168.1.2?
    3. Next, the Guide indicates the internet connection type as set to Automatic Configuration - DHCP. My internet connection uses PPPOE. I assume I may leave that setting at PPPOE.
    4. The guide then indicates the Network Addres Server Settings in the E3000 should be set to "DHCP Server: Disable". I would need to reset the range to include the Voip router IP, right?
    5. The guide then indicates that the operating mode of the E3000 must be set to "router" instead of "advanced routing". However, the Cisco Setup in that router does not have an option to make that change, under Advanced Routing the only choices are "NAT", "Dynamic Routing (NAP)", and "Static routing" and each have enable/disable or, with static, various input options.
I would think there are many users with the E3000 that use Voip service. And, since I am using two Cisco Linksys products this set up should be something that is not this confusing. Any clarification or assistance anyone might offer is much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Connecting to Airport Express via Linksys Wireless-G adapter

I am trying to use a linksys compact adapter (WUSB600N) to connect a Windows XP PC to my Airport Express- The linksys monitor CAN detect the Airport Express, but "cannot associate with the access point" for a few seconds, then "can associate... but cannot find the Internet"
I haven't had any problems connecting my MBP and a Vista notebook to my AX, just this PC using this adapter.
    Can anyone help me?

To Connect your Computer to the Wireless Network you need to change some settings on your Router...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbors network...

Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and remember the key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

Clearly this is too late to help you, but since this is showing up on Google and there are about a thousand views, this answer might be helpful to another.
Once you access the Voice Admin menu and provision your device for your VoIP provider, access to the Voice menu is subsequently "Locked".
Your VoiP provider's system has set a new unique password for the Voice menu once the provisioned device has synced with your providers system.
You should be able to get that password from the control panel on you VoIP account profile under "equipment" or a call to support or an e-mail request should garner the password.
The Login will be "admin" and the password provided will get you back into Voice menu system.
You will also need this password if you want to reset the Voice features back to factory defaults.  Because of this system it appears that a WRP400 cannot be unlocked by merely using the reset button.
