Linksys router says I need to update, but I'm running OS 10.7
My Lynksys Router is designed to run OS 10. 4. or later. I have OS 10.7 and it won't even allow me to view the set up CD. What router will work?

I certainly would not follow the link in the last post of that thread you posted. I just looked at that article and it is for Cloning the MAC (Media Access Control) address from a computer to the router. That is only part of what you need to do and you do not need to do that. If you are on a Cable connection all you have to do is turn off the modem, unplug it, for 5 to 10 minutes and when you connect the router to it and turn it back on it will sync with the routers built in MAC address.
What you need to do is configure the router manually. That is to set a main router logon password, setup the wireless side to WPA or WPA2 and set another, DIFFERENT, password for the wireless side.
Head over to DSLreports.com and look up the FAQs for your model Linksys router.

Oh and while you are doing this make sure you Write all the passwords down so you can get back into it when needed.

When in DFU mode and connected to the computer iTunes does not say anything but iTunes will see the iPod and you can restore the iPod via iTunes. When in recovery mode and you connect, iTunes will say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Have you tried restarting the iPad or resetting it and then try to update?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This should not matter - but at this point you might as well try this as well. Close all apps, restart the iPad and then try to update again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button. Restart the iPad. -

Says it needs an update, but says it's up to date...makes no sense!
First of all, why does the new version of Garageband seem to have less options in the software instrument section? Also, any time I go to look at the loops, they aren't accessible, you can see the "ghost" versions of them, and if you click on them it says you need to update it. When I try to update it, it says that my computer is up to date. I've tried downloading the updates for Garageband, but none of them seem to be fixing the problem...help me...please

Numbers says I need to update, but Software Update says its installed?
I updated to Maverick a month or more ago.
Now when I open Numbers it says I need to update to the lates verstion (3.0)
But when I open the SoftwareUpdate app is says there are now updates available (or needed)
When I find the Numbers app in the AppStore is says Numbers 3.1 is "Installed".
When I open Numbers and check "About Numbers" it says "Numbers 09 2.1(436)"
Numbers will open, and I can work with my spreadsheets, but its getting annoying, and I'm worried something is screwed up between the AppStore Updates and the Numbers app....

After the update you have two version of Numbers on your Mac. The latest version is in your main Applications folder. The old version is in a subfolder name iWork '09. You are probably using the old version when you get that message. Try the new version and all should be well.

having trouble transferring audiobook from Overdrive Media on desktop to iphone. Popup says I need Itunes 11.1 or higher. I have updated the desktop and the phone (I thought) updated regularly. No need for updates showing.
If you go into iTunes and click on Help, what version number does it say you have? This message does not have anything to do with updating iTunes on the phone. iTunes on the phone serves a different function that that of the iTunes on your computer. It is referring to updating iTunes on the computer.

since updating my desktop I can't access my iPhoto library i go to do the update it starts then doesn't respond.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I have installed / de-installed and re-installed firefox on my mac and have had a lot of problems. When I used my PC I always used firefox but it isn't working on my macbook. Firefox is constnantly looking for upgrades but then doesn't actually upgrade and just gets stuck. I downloaded peal crescent (which worked prior to my de-installing and re-installing) and now all PNG and JPG files don't save properly and seem to come out as gibberish (they do hve .jpg and .png at the end)

I have restarted device several times. Have unplugged wireless several times. Have done everything Apple has stated to do on their trouble shooting page. Have called Apple seeking advice. Was told for 35 bucks they can help over the phone or choose the free email. I chose the free method and followed what they suggested! Still nothing. I am incensed that they want 700 dollars for this POS and then want 35 bucks for verbal customer service!! I will never purchase another Apple product again if this does not get resolved. I am so disappointed. Then to be told that "for a fee" I can get verbal help. I was told my product warrantee has expired, I wonder if it expired as soon as I had issues. I am fed up! Looking for window to throw this out of or place it where an automobile is backing up. I would like the last week of my life back spent trying to fix this hunk a junk!! Oh, they had no problems before taking my money for songs and apps! Why can't they help fix this issue!!

had a lot of trouble with this too. I had tried everything, from the internet time zone changing, restarting computers, physical time zone changing, firewalls, all that, and nothing worked.
but i just tried this and it worked.
1. in iTunes, go to Store, then go to authorize computer
2. sign in with your AppleID, and authorize your computer to purchase iTunes stuff.
that's it.
I scoured the internet and found nothing that said that had that as a solution.

Thank you.Just what is happening? When you restore via iTunes, the computer reinstalls the IOS on the iPod. To do that the computer first contacts Apple to find what the latest firmware for your device and and then downloads it if a copy does not already exist on the computer.

When I select check for updates in iTunes it says it is current and the OS is so old I dont even have an option to check for updates on the phone...

I've been getting a pop-up that says Firefox needs to update, but it can't due to an error. I have checked and I have the current version (5.0.1). What's up with that?
Go to iTunes.com, then click on Download iTunes on the top right area, then on the next screen make sure it states iTunes 11.1 on the left side and email is not necessary then click on download now in the blue button. Issue should be resolved
