Linksys Smart WiFi doesn't support IE11

Has anyone had trouble accessing Linksys Smart WiFi with IE11. I keep getting browser not supported and it won't let me in. I can't even get in using the routers IP settings.

This was my fix! I downloaded Mozilla FireFox, installed and it worked great with Smart WiFi. I then tried IE11 again and guess what? It worked like a charm and is still working. Go Figure!

i have Cisco Ea4500 with linksys smart wifi, each time i try delete offline device i get error message.
    anyone can help?

What browser did you use in deleting offline devices? Are you doing it under the Device list? If yes, normally it should be deleted because those are widgets only. Can you try your other browsers? And do it on the main computer.

  • Ea3500 linksys smart wifi reboots every 5 secs

can not connect my ea3500 (v1.1.39....) with linksys smart wifi from iphone 5s iOS 7.1.2 it reboots every 2-5 secs endlessly
also can not connect it from the web via latest firefox and IE after input in my login and password the circle spins endlessly
    reboot doesnt help, only restore
    tired of restoring it
does anyone have this problem? maybe new sw is needed?

Ok so the router is ok but the app on your iphone reboots? Have you done a full power off on your phone lately? If that doesnt work try a reboot on your iphone.
Begin by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the Home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.
Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power-off slider appears. If it appears, just keep holding it
Wait until the silver Apple logo appears.
When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting

  • Port used for Linksys Smart Wifi

    Good day,
Please i would like to find out the port used for Linksys Smart Wifi Login via the Internet. I have blocked alot of ports on my router and i am not able to login via the Internet again.

Blocking unknown isn't normally required because the router firewall does that normally. Blocking specific port is good but you need to know what they are used for. UPnP devices will open ports as needed if you have UPnP enabled on the router.
Sorry I don't know the specific ports or process remote access uses. I sure it's a dial out feature and not a dial in.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • EA6900 Can't connect to Router error message from Linksys Smart Wifi

Hello Everyone, I am having an issue where I cannot remotely access my router. I currently have Charter as my ISP and have internet connectivity when at home. I can also access my router through Smart Wifi when on my local connection. When I try to access remotely I get the "Can't connect to the router" error message. I believe that I have enable the correct settings on my router to provide this service. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Mike Carlin

Thanks for the reply. ISP: Charter CableModem: Wish I could tell you at this point, but not at home and can't remember specifics. I thought that I did the association.  Is this what you are talking about?http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=140177

  • Unable to get Linksys smart wifi to work...I NEED HELP!

I am unable to benefit from the additional tools from Smart Wifi for EA3500. I have the the account, the password, but when I login it says you need to associate your router with your system...I've tried myrouter.local, linksyssmartwifi, enter the password and still i get your need to associate your router with your account.  NOT sure what I am doing but all I know is after 8+months of trying various things to get this to work I about to remove it and go back to just a standard router without wireless account garbage that everyone seems to have trouble connecting. My system is fairly new Lenovo only had it maybe 5 months using windows 8.1.  Any help will be most appreciated!  Please give step by step instructions, please don't assume I know computers/routers/networking because if i did i wouldn't have these problems... :-)  Pretend I am 10yrs and you have to be specific and detailed about what, where, how, etc., regarding getting smart wifi tools to work.... No offense to 10 year olds...

  • EA4500 - Linksys Smart WiFi Guest Features?

I've just bought my Linksys Smart Router yesterday and enjoyed configuring it last night. I have a question about the welcome page for the Guest or Visitor network. Is it possible to customize the message of the welcome and secure page provided for the guest account when they open the web browser? It is as if I'd like to be able to warn the guest that he/she is being connected to the Guest network of the JESUS FAMILY etc... Thank you for your assistance.

I don’t think that is possible with this router. It is not possible to customize that Guest Welcome page. I’ve been searching for ways on how to do it but so far not being successful . Anyways, there might be software we can download that can setup a guest network with customized welcome screen. I am going that route now. I am still searching for it. I will post any updates about it. Good luck to me .

Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

  • Linksys Smart Wifi - Not as many useful features as the Original Interface

The user interface requires more work. It doesn't seem to have many of the useful features that were standard in the original interface. Is there any chance of us being able to choose to go back to the original version?

I just purchased the EA6500.  A sleek looking unit that I would sell in a heartbeat.  I had finally become quite happy with my E4200.  Well to be more precise, I was happy with the interface. The interface for the EA6500 is frustrating.  Why can’t I roll it back to the original and classic version?
Why not add a few basic refinements to keep me (and many others I am sure) happy.
    1.            The DHCP Current Clients.
    -              MAC ID info would be nice
    -              Not up to dated instantly if at all
    -              Some devices/clients show up while others do not or never show up
    -              Why can’t we easily copy text as before?
    2.            Router resets and temporarily disconnects ALL clients when you:-
    -              Add, move or change a DHCP reserved  client
    -              MAC Filter ID added, moved or changed
    3.            MAC Filter – Lack of info
    -              Why not show associated device information for all filtered
    -              Why not show currently connected devices and info such as IP and device name
    -              Why reset with changes
    4.            Customer support used to be available by phone. Now to cut costs, we have been reduced to communicating through a chat-window.
During a recent firmware upgrade, a power outage put my E4200 out of commission and reduced it from an essential part of my household, to a paper weight with a flashing light.  Online support with very little investigation told me to go out and buy a new router because  there is nothing they can do to fix it.  The E4200 is dead.
I didn’t throw out the E4200, but I did purchase the EA6500.  I did so mainly because of my mostly positive experience with Linksys/Cisco products and customer service. I am beginning to see a change in future assessments.
At $200 (CAN), my new EA6500 is easily the most expensive router I have EVER owned.  You’d think I’d be able to speak to customer support reps on the phone if I had a problem. Instead we get this online chat-window which is not customer-service oriented at all.
    -              There are no audible cues, so you dare not leave the PC
    -              Sit there until you see text in the Chat Window….. Cisco!....That’s PATHETIC
And then while looking for a cisco place to vent, I had to go to Facebook.  Are you serious Cisco?
Can you see why I might consider taking a second look at Dlink?
    Sincerely
    A disappointed, under-whelmed and potential ex-cisco customer.

  • Linksys smart wifi app

Love the app, and all is working great on iPhone 5S jailbroken...
Just wanted to drop my opinion on an option to add to the app..
On the external storage wiget could you plZ add the option there to safely remove USB I hate to have to boot up a laptop just to remove my USB stick/hard drive... It would b much more convenient to do it from the iPhone app..
    Just my 2 cents thanks!!!

I recommend letting Linksys know about this directly:[email protected]

  • Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account -- Logging in

I don't appreciate having to use the Captcha that you all use. It is mostly impossible to identify the letters used in the FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE words. They should not be called words if they are not words. So either get a better set that are easier to use and are words (or don't call them words).

I recommend that you phone contact your regional Linksys support office and ask for help and information regarding this.We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. Nudibranch wrote:
Can you help me too, please?  I'm so frustrated I could spit.  All I want to do is create an account, not while away my hours trying to read some stupid captcha that doesn't even have a right answer.  After over a year of complaints, you'd think someone would be able to figure out why the Linksys Smart WiFi registrations are embarrasingly low.

  • EA2700 Smart WiFi Unable to Connect

I can't connect My EA2700 router through the Smart Wifi Utility.
When I first turned on the router I utilized the the CD it came with and tried to set it up. Although I was in range of the router and I can see it in My wireless list, I couldn't configure it.
I came of the utility and using the windows 7 prompts I was able to change the SSID and I received a generic password.
I was able to connect My laptop to the router with this password and access the internet.
When went to configure it through the Smart Wifi utility using the same password I can't access it. My laptop is connected but I can't access the router in the utillity.
I directly connected My laptop to the router using a cat5 straight cable from My laptops Ethernet port to the router's port #1 and tried the smart wifi utillity again. Still I can't connect.
I tried using the IP 192.168.1.1 in the browser Still can connect.
I tried using the CCC website Still nothing.
The prompt keeps saying invalid password, mind you at the moment I have already connected 3 more devices with the generic password.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Have your tried using "admin" instead? You did not exactly configure the router using the Cisco Connect setup wizard so the router's password is not the same as your wireless network's password. Log-in to http://192.168.1.1 or http://myrouter.local and use "admin" for password. If you have upgraded the router's firmware during setup, you may also go to http://linksyssmartwifi.com. Here, you can choose to access the page locally (use "admin" for password still) or create a Linksys Smart Wifi account for cloud- based access.

  • EA6900 After Creating the Smart WiFi Account, I get a "No Associated Networks" message

Well, I got my new EA6900 router and set it up following the Quick Start Guide, using my laptop directly connected to the router via an Ethernet cable.
After creating my new Smart WiFi Account and getting the router running, I took my laptop back to my desk, and connected via WiFi, using my new SSID and Wireless password. Then I checked the speed, and replied to the email to Verify my new Smart WiFi account.
Then I used the linksyssmartwifi.com URL to log back on to the router using my new Smart WiFi Userid and Password.
However -  I got the message "No associated networks. The Linksys Smart WiFi account specified does not have associated networks".  Huh - what does that mean?
Fortunately I could still logon by just using the Router Password, but why didn't this new Smart WiFi account work? And where do I setup the "Associated Networks"?
If you are getting this same "No Associated Networks" error message, then here is the answer:
***  You MUST remain cabled to the router via Ethernet for your INITIAL logon to your new Smart WiFi account. ***
This will cause the all-important "Associate Router" panel to appear, where you enter the Router Password to "associate" its network with your Smart WiFi Account.   Was that little tidbit mentioned in the Quick Start Guide?  Nooooooooo!!
Of course, then you can go searching for answers like I did, and perhaps even find the knowledge base article "Creating a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account". And if you work your way down thru it, all the way to Step 4, you'll see the "Associate Router" panel that didn't appear when you tried to do your first logon using a wireless connection.  An easy mistake to make.
And if you look very carefully at the fine print of Step 4, you'll see at the end of the so-called "Quick Tips" this little tip:
"Associating your account remotely is not possible."
Well Thanks, Cisco! By hiding that little tidbit so well - it was like an Easter Egg hunt, trying to figure out what "No Associated Networks" really meant. Please fix the Quick Start Guide to include a Step 6 with this very necessary "Association" step in it.

    Hi Geekychix,
No, I successfully associated - once I recabled my laptop to the router, and then signed on via the browser.
I suspect that many of you have a computer PERMANENTLY cabled to the router, so of course you can't understand this fundamental problem of the 'Associate Router' panel not appearing at logon, when you try to logon via a WiFi connection.
Maybe I should explain that the location of the router in a large house is crucial for good WiFI coverage.
Because of this, the router location may not be an ideal spot to keep a computer permanently cabled to the router.
In my case, it's quite inconvenient, which is why I made the effort to explain WHY I disconnected my cable, and logged on remotely via the WiFi connection, to complete the email validation, and make my initial logon to the account.
As I said before, it's an easy mistake to make - but there is No Clue that you need to remain cabled for the all-important 'Associate Router' step at first logon, which isn't even mentioned in the Quick Start Guide.
