Linksys SRW224G4 - problem with WebView

Hello !
I've bought a Linksys SRW224G4 switch and I have a problem with webview management. I can't use this feature because when I try to open web page, I see "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message. One way to solving this problem is reboot of whole switch, but after some minutes from start to mgmt via web, problem occurs again.
I've read in internet, this problem is known and it's connected to version of IE, it must be 5.5 or 6, not higher. But these information are old (2007, 2008) and I can't believe that this problem is not been solved yet. I'm using IE v.7.0.5730.13
Can You help me?
Some information of my switch:
Boot Version: 1.0.2 (Date: 17-Aug-2006, Time: 14:55:46)
Software Version: 1.2.2b (Date: 20-Mar-2007, Time: 11:44:49)
Hardware Version: 00.03.00
And "SRW224G4 v1.1 business series" information on front pannel.
BR
J.

You're correct, it requires to use IE version 5 or higher to access
the web interface of the switch. To further isolate the problem, you may try
different computer also. If you're getting the same problem, you may consider
updating the firmware of the switch. Thanks.

  • Linksys router, problems with SNMP

    Hello,
We have several Linksys RVL200  routers out in the field. They work fine except now we want to enable SNMP to  monitor bandwidth usage with PRTG Network Monitor. I’m having a problem with a few of these getting SNMP  to work properly.
I’ve configured all the devices  exactly the same, however some of them will not display the Ethernet sensors to  monitor bandwidth properly.
I believe we have the latest  firmware installed (v1.1.7).
I’ve done some onsite testing with  an SNMP tester and the results are the same.
Do you have any suggestions on how I  can proceed?
    Thank  you,
    John

Do you have problems with web browsing or other online applications? If not, the problem may lie with the games themselves. It's possible the games require ports to be forwarded to work correctly. Check the game documentation and see if this is the case.

  • Linksys SRW224G4 - No webview, no telnet, no hyperterm connection....

Hey! I wonder if anyone can help.
I have plugged up the SRW224G4 using a serial cable from a PC running Windows XP to the console port on the back of the hub.
I suspect the firmware is completely corrupted - If this is the case, how do I reinstall it?  Must I buy a replacement firmware chip and replace the firmware at hardware level?
    Diagnosis:-
The webview does not work at all, hyperterminal window appears to connect but stays blank and with a telnet session to 192.168.1.254 80 the screen stays blank until I enter a random character and the following is displayed:-

    Hi,
When I navigate to 192.168.1.254 in Internet Explorer 7, the page times out.  I do not get a response from the switch.
The web page code output you see above is when I telnet to the console of the switch - When the session is connected, I am presented with a black screen with a flashing curspr.  When I enter a random character and press enter in to the telnet session window, I get the web page code output as above in the telnet window, then the telnet session is terminates itself.
Yes, I used the correct settings in hyperterminal, as described in the manual - I used slower port speeds as well just in case.
    Any ideas?

  • Problems with a WRT54G wireless linksys router.

Hello, I'm having problems with my WRT54G linksys wireless router.
With this router, I tend to get lag spikes and often disconnect while playing online games at a certain time. The spikes usually get worse
    during the afternoon/evenings (2pm-12am PST).
    Some information about my setup:
    Firmware version: v.8.00.7
Shaw high speed cable (i think ~10mbit connect)
xp/vista OS (two computers linked up via router)
      - Both computers are connected via wire, not wireless
I've changed settings for my router through advice, but nothing seems to work. Nobody else is connected to my router because I get nothing
in the logs and the DHCP client list has only 2 IPs. I'm sure my router is the one giving me lag spikes because I sometimes connect my
modem directly to my computer (the XP) and receive no lag spikes. Someone does use wireless, but I turn wireless off at times so that
isn't the problem. I've also secured my wireless, so I know it isn't the problem.
Anyone know what's causing these lag spikes and how I can fix it? Do I need a new router?
If anymore information is needed, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Not so computer savvy

Try to readjust the wireless settings of the router...Open the linksys setup page and try the following settings...
    - Reduce the MTU size to 1364.
    - Change the Wireless Channel to 11-2.467GHz.
    - Under Advanced Wireless Settings,Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,RTS Threshold to 2304
Now,check the difference...If you are still facing the same problem then, try to upgrade/reflash the router's firmware, reset the router and reconfigure it from the scratch.

  • Problem with linksys EA2700

I've got a problem with my linksys ea2700. one time my network components get an ip-address like 192.168.x.x, the other time they get an ipaddres 10.184.x..x, I want that all my components will get the 10.184.x.x address, how can I solve this problem?

If your modem has a capability to be a DHCP server then just configure your EA2700 router as bridged. In that way, the EA2700 router will just act as a pass through device.

  • Ios7, ios8 wifi problem with Linksys WAP54G

I have 4 apple wireless devices (iPad mini, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone5) in my house.     I have about 8 other wireless devices (non-apple).   I have a Linksys WAP54G wireless access point (on the latest software 3.08.06).
Everything worked just dandy until I upgraded to iOS7.   At that point, all apple wireless devices did the same thing:  After a random amount of idle time,  picking them back up again, they'd be disconnected from the network.   They all claimed they were connected to the wireless network, had an actual valid IP address from the WAP, but would not access the network.   Just spins.    Only solution is to deactivate wireless on the device, and re-activate.   Now works fine until the next random time it drops it again.
I figured this would be fixed in iOS8.  No luck.
All other devices of different types (windows 8 lenovo laptops, Roku boxes, Tivo boxes, Nest thermostat, etc...) ALL have always connected just fine to the wireless network, and the Apple devices USED TO until iOS7.
Clearly they broke something in iOS7, and it is still broken in iOS8.
I realize this is an old WAP, but come on.
anyone else have this issue?    Apple, what did you break and why can't you fix it?
    thanks
    tom

I am in the UK and have one of the fastest fibre optic broadband on the market but have the same issue with my iPad air since downloading ios8. I can no longer watch Netflix and pages close, or just go incredibly slow. Apple are you going to get this fixed. My iPad drops outs of my broadband connection and buffers constantly yet I have no problem with other devices.
    thanks

  • Incompatibility problems with mac mini MA206LL/A* and linksys WRT610N

i purchased a new wrt610n and one of the machines that is connected is a mac mini, 1.66 ghz intel core duo.
#ma2066/ll/a for those who want to compare notes. the computer is stock with the 802.11g wireless card that came with the machine. it is running the current software and all the updates are up to date.
    i am using wpa 2 personal w / aes
their is some kind of incompatibility or issue between the wrt610n and the mac mini.
either using the wireless connection OR connected directly to the router, web pages are very slow to load. sometimes it can take up to 45 seconds for the mac mini to open up a webpage. for 45 seconds it is at 'contacting website'
when i try to run software update, i get a time out error -1001, make sure you can connect to the internet and try again.
hulu desktop is also running slow.
copying a file from the mac mini to a another computer over wifi averages about 1 mb/s
when i informed linksys about this problem, they took my phone number and said that a linksys Technician / senior tech support employee would call me back. that was a day or so ago. i asked if i can have any newer firmware, considering the latest is 5 months old.
i am considering returning this router, but i don't see a lot of good alternatives that have similar features. i have 21 days to return this. the restocking fee will be 15% i am also considering various 802.11n solutions for the mac mini, even including the dell 1500 wireless mini card, i heard it works as an airport card.
if i do get a different model router i would like external antennas.
my previous router was a 5 year old wrt54gs version 2.0, and it never had a problem with any of the computers with the network.
the trouble shooting steps involved changing the beacon to 75 and the mtu to something else, i forgot. it did not make a difference.
i moved the mini and connected it wired to the wrt610 and turned off the airport wireless card and there was no improvement.
when i disconnected the wrt610n and connected the mac mini directly to my dsl modem. the issues were suddenly gone.
theres some kind of problem with this particular unit. and i would like to hear from others who have solved this or are experiencing the same problem

Just out of curiosity: what internet provider do you have? I'm just asking since I had similar issues after switching from AT&T DSL to AT&T U-verse. Sometimes pages took a very long time to load, or just a part or image of the page. Sometimes I would get a page not found error or something like this and only refreshing the page several times would retrieve and display the actual page.
Here's what I did: I went into my iMac's network preferences and switched the DNS server IP with one from OpenDNS.com, such as 208.67.222.222.
Since then I haven't had these issues anymore. Don't ask me why though; but I would be curious to hear whether this may fix your issue as well!

  • I have Connection Problems with the Linksys WRT400N Router!

I bought the Linksys WRT400N Dual Band Router in January 2010, and had nothing but problems with it keeping renewing the IP Address for the internet. I have Road Runner High Speed Cable Internet, and they can’t help me with this support, I tried to call Linksys about 5 times and they are no real help, all I get is pay by credit card after talking to someone for a few minutes.
The problem is I can’t connect to the internet but can only connect to my Network Printer or Home Network. It won’t renew the IP Address for the internet until I reboot the router. I had this problem Connecting it Wired and Wirelessly I have a Linksys WUSB600N version 2 Wireless Adapter.

Check if you have this configuration. Don't miss the MAC Address Cloning.

  • Problems with linksys wireless router please help!

Me and my 2 flat mates share a wireless network, and for some reasons if cannot connect to it. I have vista home premium and a belkin dongle. We used a Linksys router to begin with, not sure which model, but we recently had to buy a new one because that did not belong to us. I can see the network so the dongle picks up the signal but every time I connect and put in the network key I either get Not close enough to the net work point (the router is about 5 meters away) The network key is incorrect (I created the password and it works on the other two people lap tops) The network has timed out. Sometimes I can connect to the network for a moment then it kicks me off. The connection wizard shows the network at full signal. I’m not sure what the problem is, I have done a full restore on my computer and the dongle was installed onto my computer via the disc it came with. I do have another dongle that is a Linksys one; however it does the same thing. Not sure what the problem is here, can anyone help before I have to go out and buy long network cable and have wires all over my flat i have a heap of work that needs doing this week so any ideas would be really helpfull

I would first try and bring your computer (if possible) closer to the connection point. That way it will have full time to connect. Also sometimes some materials in the walls mess with connections due to the type of material.  Sometimes if your IP address is not quite right you will connect but then get booted offline. Sometimes if you don’t broadcast your ssid you cannot connect. (one of my Visa Networks does this ssid broadcast must be on).
Are you using WPA or WEP because Sometimes WEP is not as stable with some wireless modems/ so changing to WPA might solve your problem

  • Problems with my LinkSys wireless routers since getting AT&T u-verse

I recently installed AT&T u-verse. Every since it's hit or miss on whether I can connect to my two linksys wireless routers. Sometimes it connects fine but other times I can try for hours and never obtain an IP address. I never have a problem connecting to the 2wire wireless router which was installed when u-verse was installed but it doesn't have coverage for my whole house.
The AT@T tech says the 2Wire has problems with routers being configured behind their router??? He said that I need to set my Linksys wireless routers up as access points???
Anyone have any suggestions on what to try? Anyone else have issues like this after u-verse was installed?
    Thanks

I've had AT&T U-verse since March, and I wish it wasn't the best option in my area. I have been through 3 of those 2-Wire Gateways and as best I can track down it's that DHCP Server. I have a BEFSR41v3 (and yes, I am NOT using the WAN port, just the switch at IP 192.168.1.10) and a WAP54G (IP 192.168.1.11) using WPA2-PSK and have been using for years now. AT&T tried telling me it was my wireless devices, which strangely enough worked PERFECTLY fine on my Linksys hardware with the same SSID/Key when I was with TWC. My wireless devices would work fine for a while, then gradually start having problems until by 2 weeks they are completely unable to negotiate an IP from the DHCP. Called AT&T, they reset the gateway, and everything works for 2 more weeks. Most my computers (wired or WiFi) are manually IP configured. Only my laptop (also used on a college WiFi) and visitors use the DHCP server (and the AT&T Boxes).  THUS far I've been reasonably successful by limiting the AT&T Gateway to 3 addresses for my Boxes, letting it issue them to the TV's, then adding my linksys router (ignoring the WAN port and using DHCP on with an allocation of 15 addresses) and setting the Linksys WAP to the #4 port. This weird setup now gets short lasting fits in the form of "Limited Connectivity" for my WiFi devices using Dyamic IP.  It can still access the LAN perfect, only that device has no Internet Access, and Windows says i'm being blocked by a Firewall. It self resolves in a few minutes without me doing anything and it MIGHT come once or so a month, or until they run another update which seems to ALWAYS reset that gateway (I've given up changing the password and now keep a txt on every system since it seems to reset at least monthly). A few days ago it's started giving me IP conflicts that disappeared within 1-2 minutes, which is odd since it is my manual IP's getting the conflicts... It did that for 2 days then hasn't since.
    Currently I'm wired as...
    AT&T Gateway 192.1681.254 w/ 3 DHCP range 1.160-163, WiFi disabled, and 3 LAN ports to 2 TV's and my BEFSR41
BEFSR41 192.168.1.10 w/ 15 DHCP range 1.60-74, WAN port unused, 4 LAN ports to 1 Desktop, 2 unmanaged Netgear 1000 switches, and 1 to the WAP
    WAP54G 192.168.1.11 with it's gateway set to 192.168.1.10
1 Netgear switch provides wired access for the entertainment center (PS3, DVD player, DVR, etc) and open ports for visitors
Other Netgear switch is upstairs and runs to 2 additional desktops and one more cable box...
All my wired NICs are set to a 1.2x address and all configured WiFi devices (Wii and a pair of Android phones) i have on a 1.3x.
Manual IP with a 255.255.255.0 mask and gateway 192.168.1.254, manually entering the DNS from the gateway's Broadband Details page
As far as I've been able to test and observe, that gateway is tempermental (and intermittent so tech support can't EVER find a problem conveniently) with anything using the DHCP other than the cable boxes. My manual set devices have had no problems other than that strange IP conflict that popped up on 3 computers, bugged me 2 days, then just never came back (also ironically the monday i was going to call a tech support about it)
I've attempted to disable the DHCP entirely from the gateway and only use my Linksys DHCP. That seemed to work for a few hours untill, i'm guessing, the leases expired. Then all 3 TV's stopped. Everything getting it's IP manually or from the Linksys continued just fine, internet and all. The cable boxes only returned when i re-activated the 2-Wire's DHCP Server.
I would like to try using the Linksys router to isolate my LAN (and everything else i can) from that 2-Wire with a cascade, just link across on a single static IP to dodge that DHCP, but i havn't been able to get the cablebox upstairs to work off the Linksys DHCP. Even then, I'm not sure how i can get a network split to work. If i only isolated the DHCP over my WiFi, they would still at least loose file-sharing with the my File/Media/Backup PC downstairs. Move that to the other side, then the PC's upstairs loose access. As is it's MOSTLY stable though, i just have to pull apart the gateway and cut down it's DHCP range so my devices will actually get an IP from my linksys. If i don't take away the 2-wires, i still get a high IP fail rate. It would be great if i'm overlooking some way to force all DHCP IP requests -OTHER- than the cable boxes to get their IP from the Linksys and not the 2-Wire
Far as jdaley, I havn't tried to set a cascade since I'm having problems figuring out a means to isolate the boxes (and 2-wire) away from the LAN since one box is upstairs sharing a single cable with the computers there. Someone else seemed to report a success that way. If not that, then only other thing I can think of might be to just manually set all your WiFi IP addresses by hand
Thanks for any other ideas on dodging this 2-Wire's DHCP I'd really appreciate it. I'm really hoping i'm just overlooking something SIMPLE.

  • Problem with linksys repeater

I am using a linksysWR54 G wireless router. I recently purchased a linksys repeater to extend a signal throughout my house. I cannot get the repeater to work. I press the reset button and then the button for automatic configuration. But it does not seem to recognize the wireless router. However when I take it to my neighbor's house, who has a similar model wireless router, and push reset, then automatic configuration at his house it functions perfectly. Is this a software problem? I hate to sound stupid, but because I using a Macintosh, I'm not even sure how to download the latest software or what is available. Currently I am using
    version 3.03.6 thanks

Although I am having a similiar problem with the wre54g extender and mac laptops I can tell you that the easiest way to configure the extender if it is a Version 2 wre54g is to run an ethernet cable from the router to to the port on the front of the extender (small tab can be lifted). After that open your browser and type 192.168.1.240 and enter, user name is blank and password is admin. From there configure it exactly as your router is configured. It could be that your router is encrypted etc...
If it is a version 1 you will have to reset the extender (paperclip for 15 seconds on side) then plug into a socket and look for it on the list of available networks (linksys r.....). connect to it using a static IP of 192.168.1.5 and a gateway of 255.255.255.0 - check with linksys to verify. Once connected open safari and type 192.168.1.240 and follow above.
Make sure to change the ip address to something like 241 or maybe a static within the range of the routers addressing scheme. I think this is the problem I am having... The mac is not picking up the extenders ip. I am waiting to hear back from tech support to verify.
    Hope this helps

  • Persistent problems with Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router

I'm currently running Vista with a Linksys WRT54GS router. As earlier discussed in this forum I am still having intermittent problems with the ATV taking down my network. Anyone else experienced this and come up with a sure fire fix?
When it's working I like the set up but I have to say, it is not nearly stable enough to be an everyday solution for getting my music and photos to my living room.
    Thanks.

Hi, I am having the same problem -- my 2WIRE modem from AT&T recently blew up. So, I purchased the WRT54GS. As soon as I reconnected the AppleTV to the new router via a wireless connection, all of my machines (Mac and PC) lost their internet connections. I'm seriously considering going out and getting another 2WIRE.

  • Problems with my router cisco linksys wrt110 and my android cellphone and android table

i updated my router from 1.0 to 1.07 and one week later my phone and my tablet both with android 2.3(phone) 4.0(tablet) connect to the router wireless but don't navigate internet, they connect to google.com  sometimes and if i do a search it bring it but if i try to open any of the search it doesn't open. and they connect to google play but doesn't download any app. if i open any app that needs to connect to internet it doesn't connect either. My wife has a blackberry phone and she doesn't have problem with internet connecting to the wifi router, i have a pc with windows 7 and connect wireless too and either connect to internet without problems. It's only happen with android. i download terminal app and i ping different web pages and respond by name and by ip but when i go to internet app and try to connect it doesn't bring the page. i don't have firewall and the firewall of the router i disble it but the problem persist.
i factory reset the router and my phone but problem persist. i set static ip and nothing. my cellphone and tablet connect to internet fine in others wifi routers. What else can i do? should i downgraded the firmware to the router? if it is so where can i download a previous version of the firmware and what are the steps to install it?

If the other wireless devices are working fine connected to the router, then it might be that the Android phones and tablet needed to be configured properly. Had you tried to use another web browser on the problem phone and tablet to further isolate the issue? Had you tried to connect the phone and tablet to other wireless network and check if you still have the same issue? Please try to make sure that you are connected to the router’s main wireless network. And please try to delete preferred wireless networks, including your wireless network, on the phone and then try to reconnect.

  • Linksys Router BEFW11S4 problems with iphone

i have a linksys router bedfw11s4 version 4 and im having problems with wifi on my iphone
i can search and connect to my router but the interent is extremely slow
i have no problems with my laptop
i read some info on this board regarding changing it to static ip but im having problems figuring out how to config it
when i goto into my router setting i only see 1 DNS address

So on your IPhone you are getting connected to your Wireless Network, but the Internet is working slow, then i would suggest you to change some settings on your Router....
Once you login to the router setup page, Under Wireless ... Change the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz and click on Save Settings....
Then under Advacnce Wireless Settings.... Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings".....
Now check if your IPhone, how is the Internet Speed....
If still slow then i would suggest you to upgrade the firmware of your Router....
Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop..
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
