Linksys WRP400 Voice Configuration

Hi.
I've just purchased a Linksys WRP400 Wireless-G Broadband Router with 2 phone ports (to replace a Billion voip wireless router which has ceased to function). I'm having trouble trying to work out how to set up the voip connection to my voip provider. Firstly, I can't login into the voice screens. On first attempt at configuring the router I could see the voice screens, but couldn't see anywhere to enter the sip web address - I saw the user password box and keyed one in thinking I needed to change it from the default to unlock some additional screens. Now, when I try to view the voice screens I just get prompted for a user name and password where I've entered "admin" and the password I entered previously - which are rejected. I've since reset the device to the factory defaults but I still get prompted for the user name and password. I enter "admin"/"admin" but it still fails to get any further. I've looked in the online user guide hoping it might tell me how to reset this password but couldn't find anything. The user guide talks about entering a voice user name and password supplied by my service provider? I'm confused by this - is it talking about my broadband internet provider? My internet provider is not my voip provider. My voip provider has given me an account, user id and password, but how is the device going to confirm these details without being told the sip details? I thought the Billion config was complicated and I was hoping this device might be much simpler - but not so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Clearly this is too late to help you, but since this is showing up on Google and there are about a thousand views, this answer might be helpful to another.
Once you access the Voice Admin menu and provision your device for your VoIP provider, access to the Voice menu is subsequently "Locked".
Your VoiP provider's system has set a new unique password for the Voice menu once the provisioned device has synced with your providers system.
You should be able to get that password from the control panel on you VoIP account profile under "equipment" or a call to support or an e-mail request should garner the password.
The Login will be "admin" and the password provided will get you back into Voice menu system.
You will also need this password if you want to reset the Voice features back to factory defaults.  Because of this system it appears that a WRP400 cannot be unlocked by merely using the reset button.

  • Linksys WRP400: Voice line registered but number not working (not in service) (no SIP response)

    Good morning everybody,
i'm experiencing a weird and frustrating problems with some Linksys WRP400 and i hope you can give me any advices.
Long story short: the Voice line on the WRP400 keeps stop working, even if it's registered on my SIP PBX. Only a reboot of the router or a shutdown no-shutdown of the line temporarily fix the issue.
Let's add some details: i've got a lot of WRP400 installed and running and not all of them have this problem. They all have the same configuration.
I've tried to workaround the issue, reducing Register Expires from 3600 to 1200, setting on Make Call Without Reg and Ans Call Without Reg, setting on Restrict Source IP and enabling a daily reboot at 05 AM. It doesn't seem to help.
When the problem occurs, if i call the voice line number i get an error "The number you have dialed is not in service" or similar. Sometimes my customers says they can make an outgoing call, while the problem is still on, but more often the line is totally mute even on the outgoing way.
On my SIP PBX i can see the number is regularly registered, with the right timing.
If i make a Wireshark sniffing on my SIP PBX, i can see some regular "Request: INVITE sip:[email protected]:5060;transport=udp, with session description" from the PBX to the router, but the router never answers.
If i reboot, the voice line re-register itself and start working again.
I attach a screenshot and the Wireshark sniffing.
I'm using the latest 2.00.32 firmware.
Have you got any advice? It's becoming an annoying problem and i'm groping in the dark.
    Best regards,
    Maurizio
P.S: Should i've been asking to Belkin or is this still the right place?

You're right, i'm sorry, the other one is there: https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2265350
Is there a way i can ask the moderators to delete this one an keep only the other one?

  • Linksys WRP400 issues

    Hallo everybody,
I recently bought a linksys WRP400, but I´m very disappointed over the quality of service in the VoIP. Every time I receive a new phone call I cannot hear anything and the calling neither, and the only way to have solute this issue is the reboot the router...can be true????????
I have also experieced the router cut the wireless communication for few seconds sometimes!
Is there any parameter to avoid those very annoying inconvenient? I have been Linksys customers through many years, but I´m bit disappointed for my recently problems...I have also return a PAP2 for incompatibility issue with the router.
Thanks for your help in advance
    BR
    Fabio

Ti suggerisco di modificare questi parametri:
voice menu -> system -> debug level 0
voice menu -> regional -> FXS port input gain -4; FXS port output gain -4; FXS port impedance 270+750||1505nF
    voice menu -> line 1 e 2 -> network jitter -> very high; jitter buffer adjustment disable; restrict source IP yes; Preferred codec G711a; Echo Supp Enable no;
    Fammi sapere.

  • Configurnig Linksys WRP400 to work with Gizmo Project

I have a Linksys WRP400 and I would like to route incoming calls to Gizmo through the router to a phone.
I have connected the phone to the router via the RJ11
    Based on this »support.gizmo5.com/index.php?_m=···leid=409,
on the router I have set:
    Under SIP settings
    * SIP Port (UDP): 5060
    Under Proxy and Registration
    * Proxy Server : proxy01.sipphone.com
    * Outbound proxy: proxy01.sipphone.com
    Under Subscriber Information
    * User ID: 17471115555 (replacing with my number)
    * Auth ID: 17471115555 (replacing with my number)
    Use Auth ID: Yes
    * Password: (my gizmo5 password)
Everything else is default for router.
The light for the phone 1 on the router does not light up.
I don't get a dial tone on the phone and when I try to call my SIP number, I don't get a response.
I tried Linksys support who couldn't assist (their reply was "we only configure the Internet side of therouter")
    Any suggestions?

  • Linksys WRP400

Hi everyone I have a Linksys WRP400 wireless router with VOIP.
Very recently i have had problems with admin access.
(During setup i change the default username and password as suggested by Linksys to one of my own username and password choices).
After changing the username and password i can setup the rest of the router fine and then log out.
But if i try to log in it won't accept the username and password that i have set nor will it accept the default username and password.
For me to get back into the router i have to soft reset it using the reset button on the back
i have tried to do a hard reset using the reset function in the routers firmware but the router asks me for my internet service providers username and password which i can’t supply as I got the router second-hand
Is there any way to reset the router without the isp username and password
    Thanks in advance Tim R

Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
    Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
    Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
    Enable phishing and malware protection

  • WRP 400 cisco vs linksys

Are there any difference between Linksys WRP 400 and Cisco WRP 400?
We used to sell Linksys WRP 400 to our customers, because it had a well working Voip part.
But we had too many support issues with the router part, and thus we stopped selling the product.
Now I see that WRP 400 is still sold, now my question is has the stability of the product improved?
Secondly, is it stil possible to load cisco firmware into the old Linksys boxes, and will this improve stability?

Hi, the Cisco WRP400 and Linksys WRP400 are the same thing.
Cisco has simply renamed some Linksys products.
You can load the last 2.00.32 firmware. Some bugs were fixed and the stability was partially improved: in this firmware you can schedule a daily or weekly reload of voice module.
My suggestion is evaluate the last firmware on few customers for 2 or months.
    Regards.

  • Both our Canon Pixma And Kodak wifi printers do not seem be recognized by our Airport Extreme.  Is there a special way to configure the Extreme.

We had a Linksys modem-router configuration previously and it worked just fine for all three printers in our home.  2 Canon's and 1 Kodak.  In addition, my HP laptop cannot use the network at all and Im forced to use my mifi card at home for my work computer.  I thought Airport would improve communications and instead we seem to have just the opposite.  Is there a utility we can use to allow everything to communicate with one another

If all of your wireless clients are unable to connect to the new AirPort Extreme, there may be something amiss with either the Extreme's settings or the modem/Extreme interface if you are also not able to access the Internet with your HP laptop.
When changing ISPs (or networking equipment) it's always a good idea to start from "scratch" in configuring your equipment.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.
    Please post back your results.

  • Cisco 3030 with Linksys BEFVP41 VPN

I have 3030 concentrator, currently iam using Cisco 806 router for site to site tunnel and its working fine. is it possible to use BEFVP41 linksys box to configure tunnel? If yes, can i have more details?

Though I haven't worked on the same myself, the answer is yes, it is possible. The reason for that is that IPSec is an open standard and supported by both the boxes in question. Some minor issue do crop up such as the system message "Failure during phase 1 rekeying attempt due to collision" followed by a quick disconnect and reconnect of the tunnel. Even these issues can be sorted out using simple steps such as setting the rekeying interval. You'll need to be careful about these issues.

  • Configuration page lost

    Greetings!
Before I go any further here is the router I am dealing with:
    Linksys WRT54G
    Version 3
    s/n CDF80E1 05393
Yes I am aware that this is rather old unit.
My problem is this, I have turned this router into an access point, connecting it to the 2wire router that was given to me by my DSL company.  I made the 2wire IP 192.168.1.254 and the linksys router's IP 192.168.1.1.  Now after intial setup I can no longer access the linksys router's configuration page.  I go into internet exploder and type into 192.168.1.1 and it pretends that there is no such page.  I do not even get the pop up window asking for the user name and password to log into the router.  How do I find this page again so I can make further adjustments to my linksys settings?
Just for clarification the access point works quite well.  The devices I connect to it are able to connect to the internet with no problem.  I just can't find the configuration page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Jason

Disconnect all the cables from Linksys router.
Connect the computer to the Ethernet port 1 on the router. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router. Try to open the setup page of the router using 192.168.1.1.
You want to use WRT54G router as access point.
Change the wireless settings as required.
Click on setup tab and disable DHCP server. Save the settings.
Connect the cable from AT&T router to Ethernet port 2 on WRT54G router.

  • SG 200-50 VLAN Configuration

    Hello,
This is my first time setting up one of these switches.  I'm adding it to an existing infastructure, with multiple VLANs.  I believe I have it set up correctly, however whenever I daisy-chain the switch in with the trunk ports, it's not passing the VLAN info correctly.  There's not a lot of configuguration involved, so I'm not quite sure where I might be going wrong.  I've attached a couple screenshots that show my trunk port configuration.  Again, I apologize for my ignorance, as this is my first time setting one of these up.  If anybody can point me in the right direction to resolve this, that would be great.  Thanks!

    Hi Tom,
Thanks for the attention to this.  The upstream/downstream switches are Linksys SRW224G4.  When I connect this switch the existing switches, I loose connectivity to the SG 200, and the downstream/upstream switches also loose connectivity to each other.  The Linksys ports are configured with the same VLAN IDs.  The default VLAN is 300.  Port 49 and 50 are going to separate switches.
Here's the current setup (connected via trunk ports)
    Linksys SRW224G4 -> Linksys SRW224G4
I'm trying to add the SG 200 as follows:
    Linksys SRW224G4 -> SG 200 -> Linksys SRW224G4
    Again, thanks for the help!

  • Apple Airport Express to Aironet 1200 AP Configuration???

I currently moved from my Cisco Linksys wireless router to an Cisco  Aironet 1200 AP. The reason fro doing this is that the linksys had  limited configuration capabilities and the wireless router would need to  be rebooted every three days or so. But that's a different issue.
The linksys Cisco router worked great with the Airport Express Ver.  7.4.2 the Linksys located all three Airport express's. i am using them  to bridge for each of my stereo throughout the house. But as stated  occasionally I the Cisco router would loose the ability to connect to  the Airports.
I decided I would beef up my wireless because I run many wireless  devices 3 printers 2 laptops and 3 Airports plus 2 Iphones. So as you  can see pretty heavy on the wireless.
So the problem is that I installed the 1200 AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 code:  c1200-k9w7-mx.123-8.JEB configured basic WPA / TKIP PSK. My laptop can  connect my Iphone can connect. Both devices work well and no issues. THE  PROBLEM is the Airport express devices cannot detect my AP unless I  configure them to use the ethernet port then they work just great. But  that's not helping I need to be wireless. I have spent hours going  through but I have not found a solution. Does anyone else have this  issue if so please let me know the fix.
    Thanks,
    rabalam

Any luck getting this figured out?
I'm having the same issue: Basically any wired computer can connect to airtunes, wirelessly on the airport, but I'm not able to go from wireless to wireless.  I've tested this on a separate system, with successful results.
I'm guessing it's a setting in the WAP that I'm missing.

  • Airport Express doesn' see Linksys Network

I have 5 AX units. All are the newer "n" flavor. Three are connected by ethernet and 2 by wifi. The two that are wifi are set up to join a wireless network.
A wifi G-only network using WPA2 personal is created by a Linksys WRT54GS (version 6, with up to date firmware)
My problem is that none of the wireless AX units see the Linksys wireless network. My Apple TV (v2) which is located next to the aiport express does , however, see the Lihksys networks with no problem. I have done sort of a work around by having one of the AX units create a wirelss network, but its not optimally situated and the signal is not particularly strong (large house).

Bob -- thank you for your interest
Should also have noted that all the express devices are running firmware 7.6.1
I open the Airport utility, double click on the AX unit that I want to setup. This brings up the configuration screen. I click on the "Wireless" tab. "Wireless mode" shows that it is already setup to join a wireless network. When I click on the "Wireless Network name" it shows the "n" network created by another AX device, a "g" network in my basement, an unknown network, and even my neighbors network across the street. But not the G network created by my Linksys.
I have similar issues with the other wireless AX device, same problem. And this one is ten feet from the Linksys with only an interior wall separating the two devices.
Both wireless AX units do connect wirelessly, just not to the linksys network that has the strongest signal in that part of the house.
I'll also note that there is only one router in the network handing out IP addresses, an Actiontec unit in the basement. The Linksys is set up at a fixed IP of 192.168.1.254 with DHCP disabled so that it is acting as a switch and wireless access point and not a router (this is how Linksys says to configure it for this purpose). Again, other devices connect fine and the network is solid. At times there have have been upwards of 30 devices connected to the network with no problems (most via ethernet)
As I noted, this AX unit is next to an Apple TV. The apple TV sees the Linksys network with no problem. Other devices in the house (ipad, laptop) connect to the linksys with no problem.
    Thanks again, Carlos

  • I cant access a website with my AX but if i swap it out with a linksys i can access it. Any ideas how to make the AX work?

As I stated I can t access a specific website. Here is some of the specifics.
1 The website is a redirect from USAJOBS.
2 The websites are goverment sites.
3 The AX is 2nd gen
    4 Configured as DHCP
5 The other router is a Linksys
6 The Linksys router is configured as DHCP also.
7 When the redirect happens it just hangs. Nothing is returned.
8 The Linksys is my sons ans will be returning to college in August.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

"Hard reset" the AirPort Express (see below):
While you do that, it's a good idea to reset your cable or DSL modem as well. Make it a rule to reset your modem whenever you connect something different to it. Failure to do that could conceivably explain the problem you are experiencing.
To "hard reset" an AirPort Base Station: make sure it's powered up, then gently press and hold its tiny reset button. Don't apply any more force than required to feel a tactile click.  Keep it depressed for five to ten seconds, long enough for its LED to flash amber rapidly. Release the reset button. Then, the LED will glow amber steadily for about a minute. Then, it will flash amber, slowly, about once every second or two, waiting for you to configure it with AirPort Utility.
Following the "hard reset", reconfigure your Express.

  • E2500 constant connectivity failures when secure wireless configured

My E2500 constantly drops connectivity (wired and wireless) when secure wireless is configured through the Linksys Connect software. The problem doesn't happen if the router is left unsecured.
    Router Firmware: 3.0.00 build 6.
    ISP: Comcast cable
    Cable modem model UBEE D3.0
I use a mix of wired and wireless - the PCs are wired and the tablets and phones use wireless connections. The laptop uses wired at the desk and wireless elsewhere.
When I first got the router and used Linksys Connect to configure, the connection was moderately stable for about a week, then started dropping frequently. Recycling the modem and resetting the router to factory defaults stabilized the connection.
Today I re-ran the Linksys Connect software to configure secure wireless for my wireless devices, and the intermittent connectivity problem came back immediately - I couldn't get more than a minute or two online without the connection dropping out.
I don't like running without secured wireless connection, but I don't see an alternative.
