Linksys wrt54gs randomly dropping connection

I have a linksys wrt54gs wireless g router. it just started dropping connection randomly. I was playin xbox live one day, and i lagged out. noticed pc internet was gone too.... so whats causing this? i just updated FW as well. i have the xbox and my pc connected wired. PC in the other room wireless, but doesnt work, hasn tworked fo rlong time. shows its connected, but no interent access...
anywasy main problem righ now is it dropping all connections at random times. i'll unplug and replug teh router and modem back in, it'll work for a lil bit, but on xbox live, it lags out and disconnect sin a few minutes

As you upgraded the router's firmware,I would suggest you to reset the router and reconfigure all the settings from the scratch.... On the setup page, reduce the MTU value to 1365 and click on save settings...Under the Wireless tab,Change the SSID(Network Name) to some unique name and channel to 11-2.462 GHz and click on save settings...Under the Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...Now,power cycle the router and check...

  • Firefox 3.5 and up randomly drop connections

Greetings! The problem I'm having is: Every time I've tried to install and use Firefox 3.5 and up, as I'm browsing the web and I go to, say, click on a link, Firefox will randomly "drop" the connection. It'll pause for 10-15 seconds, then pop up a generic "cannot find server" message. I then go to reload the page, and for another 10-15 seconds it won't even attempt a connection -- it'll just instant-reload with the same generic "cannot find server" message. After that, it will mysteriously be able to connect just fine... for about 2-5 minutes. The problem repeats... over and over...
I should mention that I constantly have a "ping www.rr.com" window open in the background, and even when Firefox is "unable to connect", the ping window shows my connection is just fine. All of my other programs are able to connect just fine as well -- only Firefox 3.5+ or programs based off of Firefox 3.5+ (SeaMonkey 2.x) have this problem.
Thinking it might be an addon problem, I've completely uninstalled (even using Revo Uninstaller) and reinstalled Firefox 3.5+, and even with absolutely no extensions installed, it still randomly drops connections.
This problem also happens on my netbook PC, again with a fresh Firefox install (even on a fresh Windows format + install) and a solid ISP connection.
I can confirm encountering this problem with Firefox 3.5.4, 3.5.5, 3.6.6, and even with SeaMonkey 2.0.3 and 2.0.5. On the other hand, Firefox versions 2.0.0.20 and SeaMonkey 1.1.18 are NOT affected by this problem.
I hope this problem can be resolved soon, since sites like Youtube are starting to really dislike Firefox 2.0, and I'd like to use up-to-date browser extensions. :(

  • WRT54GS Randomly Dropping All Connections

I have had problems with my WRT54GS v6 router for several weeks. It has gotten progressively worse, and all communications with tech support have only provided temporary resolution to the problem.
About every 2-4 hours, I will lose network connection on all of my hard-wired and wireless devices (4 hard-wired computers and 2 wireless devices). Once I power cycle the router, the connections will be restored, but drop again after 2-4 hours. When I lose the network connections, I obviously lose my ability to ping the router (pings will state "request timed out" during this time).
I have upgraded the firmware, changed the frequency from the factory default several times, and have renamed the SSID as I was instructed to do by Linksys. However, nothing seems to permanently resolve the issue.
Does anybody have any links to info or other posts that I can try, or any ideas on what I do in an attempt to resolve the issue? I have been thinking about going and buying a new router, but want to exhaust all options prior to doing so.

Are you using any peer-to-peer (P2P) software?  If so, this is a known cause for router slowdowns and disconnections.
Are you using any fixed LAN IP addresses on your network?  If so, please list all the fixed addresses that you are using.   Are you using the default DHCP server range of 192.168.1.100  thru  192.168.1.149 ?  If not, then please state your DHCP server range.
Are you using cable or DSL?
You said you have had problems for several weeks.  Is that when you installed the router  -  several weeks ago?  Has the router ever worked correctly?
Do you have wireless security setup on the router?

  • Users randomly dropping connections to Mavericks Server

    Hello,
We recently implemented a new server for a client - a new Mac Mini running 10.9.4 and the latest version of Server (3.1.2), with shares residing on a Promise Pegasus R8 raid (thunderbolt). Prior to this, they had a Mini running 10.8.5 (with Pegasus R6 raid) with no issues. Immediately since implementation of the new server, we have been coming across an intermittent issue, where two different users will lose their connection to the server at very random times. When this happens, it does not happen to both of them - it will be either one user, or the other, but never at the same time. Both of these users are on Macs running 10.9.4 as well. There are other users in their office - some on 10.8.5 and a couple others on 10.9.4, but they do not have the issue. I have also verified that the two users that are having the issue are connected via AFP, not SMB.
On a side note I have noticed that some users (including the two with problems, but also others as well) will have multiple simultaneous connections, shown in the server app/connections, and sometimes from multiple IP addresses (and none of which is their *current* IP address). I have to reiterate that NO problems like this have happened in the past, and no network changes were made (other than an attenuator added to their router shortly after the new server was implemented, though the problems were happening before this). This only started happening with the new server config.
I have combed through logs on both workstations and the server; nothing seems obvious to me, though I am no expert on deciphering logs either. So I am looking for some help, please! They are working on Adobe Creative Cloud files from the server when this happens, and it has caused a few very important files to go corrupt.
If there is any more information I could provide that will be of help, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Jessica

We have a similar setup with a Mac Mini and a thunderbolt NAS device connected for the shares.  We had users having trouble connecting to the shares and staying connected.  After a while of testing, we found that the issue occurred when using AFP and not when using SMB; we had both enabled as we do have windows computers in the environment.  We have since completely disabled AFP and now everyone has to use SMB which has resolved the issue for us.

  • Linksys WRT54G and G4 connection issues

could not get my Apple IBook G4 to connect to my router by lan cable or by the Airport wirless on the Apple. The router had the original firmware on it dated from about summer 2006. I upgraded to latest firmware for router v1.02.02 dated summer 2007. Works like a charm now.
    Hope this helps someone else.

    Oh, the WRT54G is version 6.>> WRT54G v6

  • Windows 7 client randomly drops connection to the internet

I have some clients having issues when they switch their connection from LAN to WIFI. It shows an yellow exclamation mark on the WIFI signal bar and shows no internet access. When the client loose connection, the IP address they are getting is shown below
    RP614v4
    10.0.0.63
    255.255.255.0
    10.0.0.1
If I do a ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew , the problem fixes sometimes, but not all the times. But it comes back.
Is there any permanent solution for this?
My domain server is windows server 2008 r2.
    Thanks,

I am still having issues. I have removed all the WiFi routers from the network except few access points for our Motorola mobile scanners. Pc's are getting disconnected from the network randomly and see the result of ipconfig /all from one of the affected

  • WRT54GS v6 Drops connections after 30 minutes

Almost to the second. That's my only complaint with this router. Any SSH or remote desktop sessions I have get canned. I searched and saw a post that said to try a lower MTU (1300) and change to channel 11.
I did both and didn't see a difference. Switching channels seems useless too considering this is an issue on my hardwired desktop also.
I have the latest firmware (1.51.0) and I have no clear plan on how to tackle this now.
Has anyone who's ever had this problem figured out what causes it?
    -adam

I said I'd post up after I talked with someone at linksys, so...
In a nutshell I'm out of luck. They told me the issue is with the firmware and the router must be "defective." I was told to take it back to staples and return it. Not exchange, return.
I know the issue is with some setting actually in the firmware. It's a real shame that the guy on the other end of the conversation likely had no pull with the people responsible for firmware updates.
It's a nice router and a real shame. I got this one because the Netgear MIMO g I had locked up under heavy load. Turns out there were tons of people having the same problem with that one.
I miss my 5 year old netgear b only router that actually WORKED. :\

  • LaserJet Pro P1102w dropping connection

I hope someone can help. We have been having a long term issue with our HP LaserJet Pro P1102w wifi printer keeping a stable connection to our network. It connects to our network via wifi. It is in a high signal wifi area of the office.
In the printer network settings I have tried setting the printers IP as static and also tried it as dynamic being assigned by our DHCP server.
The problem is the printer keeps randomly dropping connection in that we can no longer print to the printer / access the printers webpage or ping the printer. The problems is fixed by either powering down and restarting the printer or if you leave the printer after a period of time the printer will once again be contactable (by doing nothing).
I have updated the printers firmware, computers printer drivers. Checked network settings but just cannot resolve the issue.
    It's driving me crazy!

    Thanks for the clarification Angus,
Try disabling the Auto Off feature, this current configuration actually turns the printer Off after 5 minutes idle (Any key pressing will turn the printer On, but any remote command as printing or accessing the printer page will fail..
You may enter the EWS by entering the printer IP through Safari.
    Enter the Settings tab.
Select Print Settings and turn the Auto Off after as Never.
Click Apply and reboot the device, then check for any change.
Now reboot the device and check for any chnage,
    Shlomi

  • 1200 access point dropping connections

I have a 1231G access point running c1200-k9w7-mx.123-2.JA it will randomly drop connects during the day. If I look in the logs I see the following occur just before the link drops.
%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Dot11Radio0, changed state to down
%LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface Dot11Radio0, changed state to reset
%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Dot11Radio0, changed state to up
    Any Ideas?

    Hi!
It seems to me that I obtained the same issues with AP1200.
10 AP have been installed for 10 days in 5 different enterprises.
And in 6 cases after changing some parameters of RF Interface the all clients dropped the signal.
This trouble was solved very simple.
I turned off and turned on RF Interface again.
After that AP1200 began to work properly.
So they have still worked without any troubles after many times of power failures.

  • SOLVED: Dropped connections with Time Capsule and cable modem/router

I've been dealing with random dropped connections for quite a while and I thought that it would be useful to share what I've found.
I was having a very puzzling problem where my internet connection would drop randomly on wireless devices. On my laptop, webpages would suddenly become unresponsive for a minute or two, Mail would have connection problems and complain, etc...but incredibly randomly and definitely not repeatable or in any pattern that I noticed.
I also have 2 Nest thermostats in the house which connect via wi-fi. I noticed that they would randomly show Offline very often when viewed from a webpage or iPhone app, but the Nest front panels showed that they were connected with a strong signal.
As I said, the dropped connections were very sporadic. Most of the time, everything worked, but every once in a while...bam.
I worked with the level 3 tech support guys at Nest for over a week to figure out what was going on. We went through settings on my router and Time Capsule and everything seemed proper and okay. I even replaced the Nests with new ones but still had the same problem. We were all completely stumped.
Yesterday, my laptop dropped it's connection at the same time my wife's laptop dropped hers. At this point, I wondered if something was wrong with the Time Capsule or maybe my internet provider.
I called AppleCare to see if they could help with debugging the problem. They passed me up to a senior wi-fi tech and he asked me many questions about the configuration of my network. My home network looked like this yesterday (see crappy diagram below)
                                                         Motorola Cable modem/router
                                                                                 |
                                                           Netgear multiport switch
                                                          |          |         |         |          |
                                                         hardwired Macs,            TimeCapsule (bridge mode)
                                                         laser printers,                   |   |   |   |   |
                                                          Apple TVs                       laptops, Nest, iphones
This configuration seemed correct to me. The Time Capsule in bridge mode would mean that the cable modem/router would be handling DHCP so all the devices would be on the same network and I could print from a laptop to one of my printers and the laptops could connect to the hardwired Macs, etc..
The AppleCare technician said he thought that bridge mode was the problem. He mentioned that there was a known issue that in this configuration, the IP addresses could get lost between the cable modem/router and the Time Capsule. He said it would be best if the Time Capsule was in DHCP/NAT mode and the first device before the switch, this way the Time Capsule was the only device passing out IP addresses.
So I repatched my network like this:
                                                       Motorola Cable modem/router
                                                                                 |
                                                       TimeCapsule (DHCP/NAT mode)
                                                                |                                       |   |   |   |   |
Netgear multipart switch                      laptops, Nest, iphones
                                             |         |         |        |
                                               hardwired Macs,
                                                 laser printers,
                                                   Apple TVs
I can tell you that in the past 24 hours, I haven't seen anything lose a connection. Not even the Nests which seemed be on and off all the time. And, in this configuration, all the devices are on the same network and able to speak to each other.
    I hope that helps someone.

So you're saying that Bridge Mode not functioning properly is a well known issue?
Not to me.. I have not had issues with the TC in bridge. And it is my prefered setup. I think it is better as a wireless AP and network hard disk than a router any day of the week.. but there are other ways to skin the cat if it is proving unreliable. I am at the moment using a wireless bridge from the Gen4 TC to a Gen4 AE upstairs for TV internet streaming.. it started off very reliable.. but of late I guess I need to reboot it every few days. And it has required a full reset two or three times.. although I probably need to take some of the blame for those. I am not over worried.. i do not believe in wireless bridges except for the most interim of arrangements.. it will be wired in ethernet ASAP.
Wireless should always be used in a way that respects its status as voodoo.. not stable technology. NOT SCIENCE.. it is more a bag of beads and rattles.
Is there a way to change the cable modem/router to avoid the double NAT problem?
The answer to this may depend on your ISP. Did they provide the modem? If so they may lock it down so you have no control. But normally a Motorola cable modem will not have a bridge mode as such but will have a method of turning off NAT.. (and wireless).. this amounts to the same thing.
Once you turn off NAT.. you need to power cycle the modem so the TC gets the public IP in router mode. The power cycle time might be 5min or 20min or overnight.. it again depends on your ISP.. but you need to stop the modem capturing the public IP so it can be passed to the modem.
Depending on where you are in the world.. US is most concentration of cable network.. you can go out and buy your own modem. Pick one on your ISP list and steer clear of SB.. at least with the apple routers they are problematic.
It also can be a case that the cable modem is SB model and therefore more problematic. Sorry I have forgotten the recommendation for what to buy. There are a number of posts here about it but search is terrible now. (or I am too old to figure it out). I will get Bob to poke his nose in and tell you what works for him.

  • WMP54GS and WRT54GS = dropped connections

I have had the WMP54GS and WRT54GS setup for around 2 years now. I have version 2 of the router, and everything has been fine up until a couple weeks ago. Lately I have been getting randomly dropped from the router. I already have the latest firmware for the router, and have tried changing the channel, and the operating mode to G only, but nothing helps. Sometimes drops occur ever few minutes, sometimes they are so constant that I cant even connect at all. I will refresh my network list and the network will not show up for a few seconds, and then it will, so I will try and connect and it will say Unable to connect.
Sometimes when I refresh the network list and it will show my network like 4 times... like this
    SSID
    SSID 1
    SSID 2
    SSID 3
I have SSID broadcast off if that makes any difference...
I have no idea what is going on, is this a problem with the router or the network card? What should I do? thanksMessage Edited by jls1986 on 05-03-200709:38 AM

First of all, give your network a new unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router.  Also, do not use your old SSID.   Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
After you have completed the above stuff, then go into your computer, to your "Preferred Networks"  (sometimes called "Profiles" ) and delete all networks named "linksys", also delete all entries with your old SSID.  While you are there, delete any network that you don't recognize, or that you no longer use.  Add your new network with your new SSID, encryption method (if any), and key (if any).  Reboot your modem, router, and computer.  Then try to connect to your new network.  Once you have connected, return to "Preferred networks" and set your computer to connect to your new SSID automatically.  If you have an option that says, "Connect to any available network", turn it off.
If you are running any peer-to-peer (P2P) software (BitTorrent, Ares, etc.), this is known to cause disconnection problems.  Go into the P2P software and reduce the number of connections that the software can make.
Poor wireless connections are often caused by radio interference from other 2.4 GHz devices. This includes wireless phones, wireless baby monitors, Bluetooth (including Bluetooth game controllers), microwave ovens, wireless mice and keyboards, and your neighbor's wireless network. Even some 5+ GHz phones also use the 2.4 Ghz band. Unplug these devices, and see if that corrects your problem.
In your router, try a different channel. There are 11 channels in the 2.4 GHz band. Usually channel 1, 6, or 11 works best. Check out your neighbors, and see what channel they are using. Because the channels overlap one another, try to stay at least +5 or -5 channels from your strongest neighbors. For example, if you have a strong neighbor on channel 9, try any channel 1 through 4.
    Hope this helps.

  • WRT54G v2 - Random drops

Sucks that I had to like this page in order to vent about how much I dislike your routers. Two WRTG54gV2's having the EXACT same issue. This is now Wireless Router 6 & 7. The one router that still works, I gave away cause I was "Upgraded" HAH! No more, I'm done with your consumer grade crap.
Cisco Linksys Hi Greg, thanks for the feedback. What was the issue you were having with the routers?
Slow performance, Random Drops, lock ups, sitting 10ft away from the router and getting crappy signal quality/strength etc... Last 4 routers have ALL done this. 3 V1.3s and 1 V1.0s
Also This is across three different locations, two ISPs etc..
All my cables are Cat5e or Cat6 between the cable modem and router.
Here's another view: Hardwired laptop into the router switch port. Same problem slow access, laggy etc.. Same thing on both routers. Plug directly into cable modem - Wow, 16MBIT service. Plug back into the router.. Wah wahhhhh 3.5mbit

I am really surprised with the feedback that you have mentioned in your post. The processor used in wrt54g in one of best among all the SOHO routers from Linksys and works flawlessly.
    PhotoGreg writes:
Lets just get this straight. We're talking about the WRT54GV2, not the original WRT54GS V1.1 - Which I bought YEARS ago, is still operational and servicing the couple I gave it to quite well.
Both of my routers were excellent when I first got them. 20-30Mbit was no issue.
However, fast forward a year later.. and they are failing - Slowing down, dropping connections, etc.
I can appreciate your opinion, however my experience says this router is fundamentally flawed. After speaking with several other peers, it seems that I am not alone in my frustrations with the newer WRT54GV2's.
Feels like planned obscelecense to me.
The WRT54G2 had two different processors in it's life span.
Unfortunately, I have no experience with the Atheros that was in the later models.
My two routers that failed have the Broadcomm chipset.
Don't get me wrong Cisco knows how to make enterprize switch and routing gear all day long.
I use several Cisco routers (real routers mind you - and plenty of switch gear) in my day to day job.
If the consumer grade equipment had half the quality of the enterprise stuff we wouldn't be talking here.

I understand the issues that you have been facing with this particular model. However, there are certain things, i would like to mention here.
Were you facing the same issue on all wireless and wired devices or did you test it on the same computer? How about updating the router;s firmware, then reset and reconfigure the device.
    PhotoGreg writes:
Updating the firmware, and reset were the first things I've tried.
Wired, Wireless, etc. Here's the hardware lowdown - 1 iMac, 2 Macbooks, 1 Apple TV, 1 PS3 (hard wired) 1 iPhone, 1 Touchpad and one NAS device. All devices having issues. PS3 would loose connectivity. The iMac would suddenly loose it's AP connection as would the macbooks. When I did my tests.. I tested on my Macbook, my iMac and my work laptop that I had with me.
Just to clarify - Wireless or Hard Wired netted 3.5mbit (on a 16mbit connection). Hardwire a device to the cable modem (Bypassing the router) and wow.. 16.1 Mbit . I'm sure you'll agree that this negates wifi interference claims, and brings the router back into the cross hairs.

Wireless speed and range depends on various factors. I assume you tried switching to different wireless channel in case of intermittent and slow connections. Also the router was located away from other wireless devices, like cordless phone, microwave etc. One important thing to remember is that distance is directly proportional to signal strength.

See above.. My Macbooks and iMac are less then 25 feet away with no obstructions. The apple TV is about 35 ft away through one wall. Signal checks put me at about 40% strength at the extremeties of my house (yes I live in a small home).
i guess I'll just need to plunk down the $ on an enterprise W-AP when I can afford it. \
Though I'm not sure it's gonna be a cisco product.

  • Linksys WRT54GL and Airport Extreme dropping connections

In looking through these forums, I realize that people have had problems with their Linksys WRT54G routers and their Airport cards. There seem to be a lot of suggested fixes, but no definitive answer as to what's wrong. I don't know either, and after changing channels, changing Linksys firmware, changing encryption, creating background pings, and all of the recommended solutions, the problem persists. I wanted to document it here in the hopes that someone can figure out what's wrong. Here's a tail of /var/log/system.log during a period when the Mac was having trouble connecting to the Linksys. I don't believe that this is due to Wifi interference or the Linksys, since other machines in the house (a Mac running 10.4.8, but using a Cisco card), for example, don't have these same problems at this time.
Basically, this kind of behavior repeats for a half-hour or so, then settles down for "a while," where a while could be an hour or could be 6 hours, and then it repeats. I have no idea what the problem is, and I suspect it's a problem with the Airport Extreme, rather than with the Linksys. Ideas?

I thought I understood your Airport network would disconnect, but I don't understand what you mean by "drops ethernet". Clearly, if your wired connection stops working, so will your Airport network. Explain?
What I am saying is that I have wireless connections to the Ae and I have wired connections to it as well. Both are getting dhcp from the Ae. Both are getting dropped. In the log I am getting these entries, about once per hour...
    "Jan 06 10:26:00 Severity:5 Connection accepted from ::ffff:10.0.97.190/57902.
    Jan 06 10:26:01 Severity:5 unloading current configuration.

Jan 06 10:26:20 Severity:5 Rotated TKIP group key."
The 10.0.97.190 is the recently-added OS X Server. Not sure what the port is. But it seems to be doing something untoward.

  • Linksys E2000 drops connection

Hey everyone, I have had my Linksys E2000 for a few months now. But up until now, I havent used the wireless settings too much, I have had everything hardwired into the router.
I decided last week to set up the wireless settings so that I can connect my PC and Xbox's wirelessly. They are all within about 10 feet from the router. The connection is fine for a while, but after a few days it begins to degrade. I opened up a command line and pinged 192.168.1.1 to see results of 150+ms on my PC wirelessly. Wired it was about 2ms.
All of my devices have a static IP address on the LAN, and one of my Xbox's is in the DMZ, still dropping connection often. I moved my PC and DMZ Xbox to another room on the second floor of my house and its still about the same speed.
I set my old wireless G router up and its working fine......but I use my PC as a home media server, so 54mbps is very slow for media that needs upwards of 100+mbps. My ISP subscription is about 12mbps, which I get all 12 of those on a hardwired machine, but a wireless on the E2000 is lucky to get 3 of those.
I have everything set up correctly in the router settings, MTU of 1500, with only Wireless N broadcasting. I also noticed that the E2000 will drop connection much faster if the SSID is hidden. My old Wireless G router is getting pings of less then 1ms wirelessly.
I have the Xbox S models and my wireless adapter is a Edimax wireless N adapter. Could this be a defective router? Any options to try to fix the problems?

I'm experiencing similar problems as well.  I'm going to try these settings out and see what happens.  Reseting my router fixes the problem, but I don't want to have to do this once a week or more.  My WRT54GS worked great, but I wanted the speed that N had to offer.   Its rather annoying because I hate having to go upstairs every time I need to reset my router in order to get an IP address on my wireless laptop downstairs.
This seems to be an apparent problem among Wireless-N in general.  D-Link, Linksys and Netgear all seem to have problems with dropped wireless-N connections on their routers too. Read the reviews on Amazon & Newegg for yourself.

  • Stop Dropped Wi-Fi on Linksys WRT54G Version 5 & 6 Access Points

Me and my partner have been having a heck of a time with our Macbooks and our Linksys WRT54G V5 router. Mine drops every 5 minutes. His doesn't drop unless we are both using it at the same time. We've tried EVERYTHING short of throwing the router away.
What happened is that Linksys stopped using Linux in their routers (to save cost?) and there are lots of bugs in their proprietary OS.
    See http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32726
What is the solution? Reflash the router with a Linux based firmware. We did this last night and the network is solid as a rock.
THERE ARE RISKS!!! You could reduce your router to a brick if you interrupt the flash process. Please read all of the information before you decide to do this.

John has a pretty interesting observation. I recently reploaced my older WRT54G v1.1 with a V5 router and started having connectivity problems. I had no clue what was going on, my cable modem would constantly drop its signal, my xbox 360 couldn't hold a valid connection and I had all sorts of problems with my OSX boxes. I read this thread recently and decided to replace the v5 with my older router and hmmmm... suddenly my connection issues aren't issues anymore. (BTW I had recently already replaced my airport preferences so that isn't it)
Its only been a couple of days but it appears that my issues are gone. My next step is to replace my v5 firmware with either the Sveasoft firmware or the DD-WRT firmware and reconnect it.
This could be the solution to my problem, not sure what to say about the rest of you....
    Cheers,
    peter
