Linksys WRT54GX-v.2 Router Web-Based Configurator

The manual for this router says that a Mac can access the configurator for this router, yet when I do I get nothing but a couple graphics. No text. Why won't any browser on my computer render the page? Anyone else have this problem?

Hi,
Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Some of these embedded web servers like the config pages in routers and the status pages in cable modems can be kind of funky. I have a wired Netgear router and have found that it works better with Camino or Firefox than Safari.

  • Web Based Configuration possible security flaw

My coworkers and I found something quite interesting today...despite having configured FTP security settings (which have been confirmed to be set up and funcitoning. I can't open an FTP session to our remote target without specifying an admin user name and password) if you open the NI web based configuration tool in a browser, you can FTP to and from the target using the remote file browser without being logged in at all! Has anyone else experienced this??

Apparently, these permissions are separate from FTP, but you can set these particular permissions on the Security configuration page of the web based configuration utility.

  • Cannot connect to modem's web-based-configuration program

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect to my modem's (D-Link DSL-321B) web-based-configuration program by giving its ip-address (192.168.1.1) in a Safari widow. I get the error message "Safari can't open page 192.168.1.1 because the server where the page is located isn't responding".
The modem is connected via ethernet cable to an airport time capsule. The mac is then connect via WiLan. I have tried other web browser programs, rebooted everything, reset the modem, connected the modem to my macbook via ethernet cable and read ALOT of information but I still can't find the solution and get into the menu. BTW, all Mac software is up to date.
I would be really grateful for some help. Thanks in advance.

Hi Linc, thanks for the reply and sorry for the delayed response. I have tried your recommendation and unfortunately, it did not help, same error message. Any other suggestions? Thanks

  • Cannot logg in into router web-based setup

Ive tried installing my WRT54GS router with LELA but it says that it cannot detect my router, so I tried to configure on the web-base setup and when I try to go in the page it says that it cant find that page. If any one knows how to logg in into the router in a different way please let me know.

try few more settings ... disconnect the Mode from the router ... Reset the router fro few seconds ... make sure that while holding the Reset button the Power light should be blinking ....hold it for few seconds .... unplug -replug the power cable & release the reset .... Check the Ip address as i mentioned in earlier post .... disable all firewall for few minutes ... try to ping the Ip address 192.168.1.1 ...if getting replies .... try going online ....

  • Can not login to my EA4500 router's web based setup page

Hello All-I have a EA4500 router. I attempted to login to my router' web based  setup page late last year using my IE11 browser.I received an error message stating that I cannot login with that browser. I need an updated   IE,Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to be able to  visit that site. I attempted about 3 more times and received the same error message. I switched to Google Chrome that worked very well up to tonight(3/31/2004). Cisco web page is preventing me from opening my setup page. I believe I should be contacting Customer Support about this problem but none of their support options cover this problem. Thanks in advance.

IE 11 isn't compatible.  Use Google Chrome if you don't want to uninstall IE 11 and go back to IE 10.
You can force the local login by disconnecting the cable from the router's internet port and then logging in.
If the Smart Wifi is giving you trouble and you don't mind reconfiguring your router. Then you could disable Smart Wifi services.
    To disable Smart Wifi Services:
Reset the router to factory defaults (recessed button for 30 seconds or through the router UI)
For setup choose "I want to skip Setup and configure my router manually"
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • WRT310N No Way To Setup and Configure Router. CD Setup No, Web Based Setup No

Purchased New WTR310N yesterday. LESA does not run from CD. Web based Setup Page Will Not Load. Did two 2 hr Remote Setup sessions so far with Linksys Techs in Phillipines and India. After 1st Tech was done, nothing would connect to router. Tech tried to setup our 4 PCs by setting up one as a server and using ICS to setup the rest. Tech disabled TTP, DHCP, ete everything that works as a home network. I think Tech also setup a password and user name on Router without telling me. I had to spend 2 hrs using Vista and XP Wizards to setup a router network, both wired and wireless. Since Router is not configured yet can only access unsecured wireless networks. But 2 wireless printers do not work yet. Tech today was excellent in India. She reinstalled my Linksys USB Wireless Adapter that I use to print with. Still not printing, and green light not coming on, on USB Adapter. Tech managed to upgrade Router Firmware, but could never get web based router setup to load. Got the password and user name box to show up once, but admin and blank username does not work. My XBox 360 installed in 15 seconds and is fast so Router working fine. So need help with getting Linksys USB Wireless Adapters to access wireless printers and somehow get router admin pages to load so I can turn on WEP and type in our WEP Code. Last router was Linksys 54G, all worked fine for years, then quit working so got new router. Any ideas before I try calling Tech Support again, thanks.

As you want to make the network secured but the admin password is not working....You have to reset the router and re-configutre it again...
Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Is there a way to access the web-based setup for my router if I cannot access the internet?

Okay, I need to change the ip address settings on my router. I have a WRT54G Wireless router. I cannot access the internet on my computer connected to the router, and do not know how to change the router settings without accessing the web-based setup page. So, back to my question. Is there a way to access this page if I cannot connect to the internet?

On the back of the router is a small reset switch. Using a paper clip or other small item, press the switch in and hold it for a few seconds. This will reset the router to the default IP address of 192.168.1.1. Enter that address in your web browser, and be sure your computer is attached to the router by an Ethernet cable. Don't attempt to do this using the wireless connection.
Once you have reached the web configuration utility you can change the DHCP settings.
To give your PC a static IP address you will need to open your network connections panel and, assuming your using Windows XP, make the changes from dynamic IP to static there.

  • Cannot connect using Accessing the Router's Web-Based

I'm trying to update firmware, I have done all the step to access the router's web-based.. I connected DSL to the Ethernet port on the router, from the router I used another Ethernet cable to connect the router to my laptop.. I can't get an internet connection.  The reason why I'm doing the update I have been using WRT54G2 V1 with no problems, all at once I can't connect to the internet using the router.  I was told that I need to perform a firmware update.
    Thank you for the help

What' s the ip address and the default gateway are you getting on the computer ?
Connect the DSL modem to the Internet port of the router then use port number one on the router to connect the computer.
Click on Start > Run > type CMD hit Enter command promt window will appear on the screen.
In the command promt window tupe "ipconfig" hit Enter. Now you will see the ip address and the default gateway on the screen. Use the default gateway to open the setup page of the router.

  • WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page

    WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page.
I have tried everything posted to the forums and the Knowledge Base for several weeks now with no luck.  I can power push router and gain access to router's web-base interface but only for a few minutes than it quits loading part way through and or does not load at all.  If I turn off the wireless side I can access the router at will with no problems. My warranty is almost over. I am at my wits end. I would like to get it replaced under warranty if I can. (^8

I bought the router back in December 10, 2006.
I updated the firmware to v1.00.20 back in June 2007. After I did a successful firmware upgrade I reset the router to factory default settings and then reconfigured it. It has worked Ok till a couple of months ago.
I have read everything I can find here on the support forum and in the Knowledge Base several times.
I have tried changing all the different settings to the different recommendations posted here and in Knowledge Base with no success. Each time I would do a long reset back to factory defaults, let it soak for a few hours and then make one change at a time and let it soak.
I have been monitoring 6 other wireless AP(s) around me (none mine) for a couple of months too. None of them are strong enough to connect to. My SSID is different from them. I have tried all the channels. My router is passworded and MAC'd.
It is looking like it is time to call support and try to get a replacement under warranty while it is still in affect.

  • Error in router's web-based setup page (WRT54G V5)

    Hi,
My router’s web-based setup page is unable to load fully.
There seems to be an error with some document.setup.save file.
I have tried to reset my router but the router’s web-based setup page is still unable to load fully.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

Try Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Temporarily turn off your computer's software firewall, and see if that corrects your problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can I use SPRO to configure SAP CRM web based application.

    Hi,
I am just 5 days old in SAP solutions.
I want to know if I can use SPRO (IMG) to configure master data and business processes pertaining to SAP CRM web based solution ?
    Regards,
    Diptendu.

    Hi Diptendu,
You can indeed do some customizing in the SPRO regarding for example the PCUI (People Centric User Interface) of CRM.
Within SPRO take CRM and afterwards in the Basic Functions you have some customizing to be done. You can also look at the cookbook for the PCUI, which you can find on the service.sap.com/crm-inst site.
For the Interaction Webclient, there is a specific part for customizing in the SPRO under CRM --> Interaction Webclient.
    Hope this helps,
    Kind regards,
    Micha

  • Web based setup page is blank

    wrt54g wireless router
when i go to 192.168.1.1 and log in as admin,(all fine to this point), BUT THEN, when the web based page comes up, no words on pge, can not make selections. PLEASE HELP, what do i do. have tried using start up disk but no help.

To view the router's web pages:
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Check to see if your "modem-router" is using the same 192.168.1.x address space as your Linksys router. If it is, then report back with this problem, and also state the make and model of your modem-router.
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. It should work.
If the reset does not fix your system, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

  • Cannot Access Routers Web Based Page?

I have a wireless Linksys router Model WRT54G and it will not let me access my routers web based page. When I enter the default IP address into the Address Bar nothing happens (I've checked to make sure my router is on the default IP), i just get a blank screen, no pop-up or anything. Help?

Note that the router's "web pages" are built into the router.  You do not need to be connected to the Internet to see them.
To view the router's web pages:
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.

  • WES610N Web-Based Setup

The WES610N bridge seems to work fine, but I cannot get into the web-based setup.  I have tried using it directly through my laptop, as the instructions show, then through an Asus RT-53N as a router.  I did have the 610 connected to my laptop's ethernet socket, where it provided internet through the Asus RT-53N wireless router just fine, but when I tried to access the setup, again, it would not work.  Next, I tried it through a desktop and Linksys RVS4000, again . . . nothing.  Any ideas?  I would like to check the firmware and see what else is in the menu.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi there. You can try to connect the WES610N to your laptop again. Check the lan ip address it is getting. By default it has a static lan ip of 169.254.1.250. Try to access that or better ping it first. Once you get the setup page of the device then from there you can configure the ip address that is of course in range of your router. • E3000 guest network web-based setup

I replaced an old router with E3000. Since I already had a number of clients connected, I used the web-based setup program to duplicate the old routers configuration. Now it seems there's no easy way to manage (rename, e.g.) the guest network from the web-based setup program. To use Linksys Connect, I need to go back to square one on the router and redo the whole network setup by resetting the router to its factory defaults and then doing everything thru Linksys Connect. Is there some way to get at guest settings thru web-based setup?
    Thanks

Right. I went ahead and set it up using the built-in menus. I set the SSID to something new, passowrds, etc. Only after I had everything running did I turn to the guest network. It is now called ROUTER-GUEST (not related to my SSID, btw) and has an unknown password.  So it appears that if I want to use the guest network, I must do the whole thing over from square one. Just brilliant to have the menus built in to the router be unable to access some of the features that are available in it.
