Linksys WRV4400N Dropping Offline

I have 10 laptops (Windows XP), in a Windows Server 2008 (That was migrated from a SBS 2003 domain) and using Offline Files, that are constantly dropping their connections and receiving the dreaded "Offline - You are no longer connected to Server A". When I try to synchronize they fail. At first it was all systems dropping offline at the same time when users first logged in. Now it's just random and not all systems at the same time. The Linksys router is less than 20 feet away from the users with 1 drywall between them.
I can usually resolve the issue by disabling and re-enabling the wireless connection and it'll reconnect and synchronize. Or I can cycle the power on the router and they'll synchronize.
Initially, I thought this was a domain wireless timeout issue and created a policy to not timeout wireless connections, but apparently that's not the issue.
Any ideas??
Thanks!!

One of the probable cause of this problem is that the EA6500 have a corrupted firmware. Did you check if you have the latest firmware installed on the router? Please try to check as well if you experienced this problem on your other wireless devices. There is also a need to check if the wireless adapter installed on your computer has the latest drivers.
Just to further isolate the issue, you can also try inSSIDer to help you measure the signal strength and estimate the performance of your Wi-Fi in various locations.

  • 8500 Premier All-in-One printer drops offline

Periodically my wireless printer drops offline and I cannot print.  This happens randomly on different PCs on the wireless network.  Usually restarting the print spooler on the PC that cannot print solves the problem but sometimes I need to shut the printer down and restart it.  While that generally clears the problem the printer gives me a warning that it had been shutdown improperly, even though I used the on/off button.  Various PCs on the network are running Windows XP and Windows 7 -- all have this problem.

The printer does not disconnect from the network as far as I can tell as other PCs can still print and the Network report from the printer control panel shows me an IP addressl.  It just goes offilne for for pne user.  In XP we can see the "Printer Offline" status and click "Use online" but that is harder to find in Windows 7.
I have not upgraded firmware or software recently.  I had a problem installitng and the HP Solution Center tells me it cannt run as my device installation is not complete.  I have donwloaded and tried to install OJP8500vA909_Full_14.exe several times with no success.  I also have HP_Smart_Web_Printing_v4.6.exe and hppiw.exe -- not sure if they are still installed.

  • NOARCHIVE mode and datafile DROP OFFLINE

I have a 10gR2 database on linux that I use for testing. The db is in NOARCHIVE mode.
I had created test tablespaces on a NAS (as opposed to the system tables on the local machine). The NAS crashed, losing the drive mapping on the db machine. Of course, I couldn't start the database due to the missing datafiles. I did an 'alter database datafile 'xxxx' drop offline', which put the datafiles in RECOVERY mode in the datafiles view.
Amazingly, I was able to recover the NAS several days later, and the datafiles.
Is there any way to restore them after a drop offline? When I try to online them, I get recovery needed, when I try to recover, none of the redo logs have the right checkpoint. (The checkpoint needed is less than what are in the redo logs)
I don't care about any data that might have been lost. The data was static for months.
    Any suggestions?
    Edited by: user10822921 on Nov 4, 2009 5:03 AM

If the database is asking for recovery when you online the files, and you don't have those transactions in the redo logs, you can't recover to a consistent point in time to online the files.
    # Note that the following is not supported by Oracle Support. You may want to ask them for a second opionion.
You could try taking a copy of all files to another location, recreate the controlfile, and use parameter "_allow_resetlogs_corruption=TRUE" to allow "open resetlogs" to ignore the inconsistent SCN. If it works, you should be able to export the data in the copy database, drop the objects in PROD, and re-import.

  • Drop offline Datafile

    Oracle Database version - 10.2.0.3
I have a tablespace with 2 datafiles. One of the datafile is offline since couple of months. Now I am trying to drop the offline datafile but its not possible to drop that datafile.
As its production environment I can not take the tablespace in offline mode.
Can anyone please suggest suitable solution to drop the datafile?

OS 10.4.9 When txferring files, the NAS will drop from the network. The error message says something about access to the server is interrupted. Needless to say, it's frustrating. The NAS is connected to my 801.11g Linksys router, and I access it wirelessly. Please advise.

    Hello,
The issue you are having is a timeout issue with the Wireless router. I would recommend checking the settings on the Router to ensure that there are no timeouts enabled and that there are no file size transfer restrictions. Thank you.

I've just been all over the router and don't see anything that bears any resemblance to that, unless it is in the Quality of Service tab, but it doesn't say.

    Hello,
I recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the router and see if they can locate it for you. Thank you

So, how do ensure there are no timeouts enabled and that there ar eno file size transfer restrictions?
    Cheers

There is no such setting on this router. Are you able to ping to the NAS once you lose the connection? If yes then it may be something in the settings in the NAS. You may try upgrading the router firmware, if needed.

  • Linksys ea3500 dropping wireless connection

    Hello,
I have a very frustrating problem.  I am using a brand new Linksys EA3500.  We have 2 laptops connecting to it.  One is an older XP machine which never has any problem.  The other, a Vista machine, periodically drops the connection to the internet when connecting wirelessly.  It never loses the connection to the Linksys EA3500 router, it just says "Access: local" and there is no internet.  If I plug the Vista machine in wired to the router it works fine.  I've tried my old router and I don't get this problem, which leads me to believe that my wireless adapter is functioning properly on the Vista machine.
When the vista machine drops the internet, I can still get into the router configuration at 192.168.1.1, but when I click on the tab which says wireless it sometimes says:  "Router not found.  You are not connected to your router."  It says this despite the fact that I am connected to the router???
I've tried reinstalling Windows, that didn't make any difference.  I am convinced that it is a problem with the router, but I can't find any settings to adjust which remedy the situation.  Of coarse, I've tried reseting my modem and Router many times...doesn't resolve the issue.  I've also gone into DOS and done an ipconfig release_all and renew_all.
I work in IT and I understand the basics of TCP/IP and DHCP.  When I connect wired with the vista laptop my ip is 192.168.1.112, when wireless it is 192.168.1.142.  Please advise.
    Thank you

Are you using the classic firmware or the linksys smartwifi? If the other laptop is working fine, I would say that the router is working fine. But to make sure that everything all things are covered, try to change the wireless settings of the router as well as update the adapter on the laptop that’s experiencing the problem. For the wireless settings of the router, you may try: channel width: 20MHz only; channel: 1, 3, 6, or 9; security: wpa2 personal.

  • Reconcile - ALTER DDL. Dropped (offline) and absent (online) for same table

    JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0
    1) Offline database table -> refresh from my_connection
    2) Could have done some changes to the offline table here, but it is not needed to run into problems
    3) (The same) Offline database table -> Generate or Reconcile to my_connection
    4) ALTER object with manual reconcile
    5) The table is now not "recognized" the way I thought it should be. "Dropped" on the offline side and "Absent" on the online side
Conistently getting the same behaviour for intance when generating DDL from diagrams. This means I am not able to get any ALTER DDL script (only drop and create objects).
Is there a fundamental misconception of mine or is it a bug here? Not able to find anyone with similar problems within this forum. Nor can I see that the problem is adressed in the 10.1.3.3 fixlist, so I'm prepared to get "did you remember to plug in the power connector"-ish replies here.

    User,
I am getting the same issue with my 10.1.3.1 project.
    Any ideas anyone?

  • ORA-03264: cannot drop offline datafile of locally managed tablespace

    Hi list
A datafile was acidentally created on filesystem in one node of two nodes RAC.
After that the filesystem on which the datafile was created was out of space because of automatic control file backup and sysadmin move this datafile to another device. And before this action RMAN backup stopped work.
Now we replace the datafile to the original location, but it stay offline and recover status, and we cant bring them online because the customer dont have necessary archive logs to recover this datafile. RMAN backup is now working. But now we need to create a DataGuard on a third server and want to drop this datafile.
This datafile dont have any data segment and stay in most critical tablespace of the customer application which have more datafiles. This datafile in question isnt the first datafile of the tablespace.
    SQL> select file#, status from v$datafile where name='/oracle/product/db/ars/dbs/arsystem.old';

    21 RECOVER
    SQL> select file#, status from v$datafile_header where name='/oracle/product/db/ars/dbs/arsystem.old';
    FILE# STATUS
    21 OFFLINE
How can I drop this datafile?
    Thanks

Review this metalink note, what to do:
How to 'DROP' a Datafile from a Tablespace
    Doc ID:111316.1
If you cannot recover the datafile, you have to export the 'rest' of the tablespace (after statement 'alter database datafile '/oracle/product/db/ars/dbs/arsystem.old' offline drop;' was successfully issued). Afterwards drop the tablespace, recreate it and import the data).

  • TMS Event Alert - Endpoint Drops Offline

We receive alerts from a particular endpoint (IP address statically assigned) that goes offline then comes back online quickly. In the messages.log we consistently see the following message that coincides with the alerts.

NTP appears to be configured correctly.
Comparing this with another endpoint, I don't see the same DHCP messages.
From Google, the takeaway was that the DCHP client is trying to request an IP address but the endpoint has a static IP address.
I have reached out to my network team to try and get an answer on how the connected port on the switch is configured.
Has anyone seen this issue before?
    Thx

After considerable troubleshooting we found that the endpoint had a bad NIC card. Traffic was passed and calls were able to be made but we found various CDP flapping between half duplex and full duplex settings.  FYI.

  • Mail dropping offline to quickly

Is there any way to get Mail to not give up so easily when connecting to the mail server and get email? At one of our locations the bandwidth is a bit small and the network gets busy (I'm working on it but most likely will not be resolved for a while), so when Mail tries to connect it gives up almost immediately and goes offline. Ok, so the network is busy and the external bandwidth is smaller than it should be, but other email clients (including Entourage) are able to connect and get email.
There has to be a way to change the amount of time that Mail is willing to wait for before it times out and drops to an offline state.... This is quite annoying.
    Thanks,
    Peter

I sympathize with you, but I'm afraid there is nothing you can do about it other than customize the toolbar to include the Go Online/Go Offline button to make your life easier, or switch to another mail client -- I'd love to be wrong, though.

  • Linksys connection dropped after 10 mins

    Hello, everyone.
I'm having a problem with my wireless router. As stated in the title, when I turn it on in the morning (I turn it off every night), it works fine for about 10 minutes, then my wireless computer will get knocked offline (the one connected directly to the router is fine and stays connected). If I reset the connection, it takes a full 2 or 3 minutes to connect (with internet abilities).
    Background information:
    Router: Linksys WRT54G2 V1
Computer: Dell XPSM1530 Laptop; Vista Home Premium
Please advise on what the heck to do!
    Thanks
    S. Wynters

well the first thing you should do is perform a firmware upgrade on your linksys router. Below is a link for you to follow.
    www.linksys.com/download
After the firmware upgrade you should perform a factory reset by holding in the reset button on back of the router for 30 seconds. This will erase all previous settings, so I suggest that you write down your settings so that you can manually enter them back into the router.
Also, I would see if there are updated drivers for the wireless card at the manufactures website. See if that helps
    Good Luck

  • Linksys E2000 drops connection

Hey everyone, I have had my Linksys E2000 for a few months now. But up until now, I havent used the wireless settings too much, I have had everything hardwired into the router.
I decided last week to set up the wireless settings so that I can connect my PC and Xbox's wirelessly. They are all within about 10 feet from the router. The connection is fine for a while, but after a few days it begins to degrade. I opened up a command line and pinged 192.168.1.1 to see results of 150+ms on my PC wirelessly. Wired it was about 2ms.
All of my devices have a static IP address on the LAN, and one of my Xbox's is in the DMZ, still dropping connection often. I moved my PC and DMZ Xbox to another room on the second floor of my house and its still about the same speed.
I set my old wireless G router up and its working fine......but I use my PC as a home media server, so 54mbps is very slow for media that needs upwards of 100+mbps. My ISP subscription is about 12mbps, which I get all 12 of those on a hardwired machine, but a wireless on the E2000 is lucky to get 3 of those.
I have everything set up correctly in the router settings, MTU of 1500, with only Wireless N broadcasting. I also noticed that the E2000 will drop connection much faster if the SSID is hidden. My old Wireless G router is getting pings of less then 1ms wirelessly.
I have the Xbox S models and my wireless adapter is a Edimax wireless N adapter. Could this be a defective router? Any options to try to fix the problems?

I'm experiencing similar problems as well.  I'm going to try these settings out and see what happens.  Reseting my router fixes the problem, but I don't want to have to do this once a week or more.  My WRT54GS worked great, but I wanted the speed that N had to offer.   Its rather annoying because I hate having to go upstairs every time I need to reset my router in order to get an IP address on my wireless laptop downstairs.
This seems to be an apparent problem among Wireless-N in general.  D-Link, Linksys and Netgear all seem to have problems with dropped wireless-N connections on their routers too. Read the reviews on Amazon & Newegg for yourself.

  • Linksys EA3500 dropping wired or wireless networks

Device is less than 8 months old. I have a wireless TiVo receiver, two iPhones, an iPad, three laptops (Dell, HP, and Lenovo) all on wireless and two custom desktops (windows OS's) on the wired ports. I replaced a WRT54GS that worked fairly well (from time to time had to powercycle it, but less than once every other month). The EA3500 worked great at first, wireless connections were strong, everything seemed faster, etc. Then about two months ago I started noticing the network would drop off for a second and come back. This would happen on wireless devices and on the wired desktops. It was random but always came back up within 30 seconds. However, it has continually gotten worse. Today I have had almost no uptime on the network and my wired systems continually are trying to resolve the network name. (Network disappears, then you sees it try to establish a connection and it drops off again immediately). It is definately the device as I cannot even get to the management console on the device. In frustration I tried to factory reset the device and just start over, but it continues to drop connections.
So, am I just hosed and this device is junk, or does anyone have a suggestion I can try? Really upset that I spent $100 on a device that hasn't even made it a year.
    Thanks in advance.

I have experienced the same issue before and what I did was I upgraded the firmware into the latest one. You can refer to this link for the download: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=e9c2361ee7974d75913e61386a712188_4030.xml&pid=80&r... . After downloading the firmware, you can now access the router setup page by typing “myrouter.local” on the address bar and you can just accessed the router locally and type “admin” for default password or your own password (if you already changed it).  After I upgraded the router I unplugged the power cord of the router for about ten secs. and plugged back in.  I also made sure that the wireless settings for both 2.4ghz and the 5ghz has a different name and it has a specific channels. And that resolved my issue.

  • HP LaserJet CP1518ni Dropping Offline

I have an HP CP1518ni color laser jet that I absolutely love. I have it wired to my Ethernet routher and the IP address is statically assigned. The printer intermittantly goes offline and no matter what I do, it will not come back online. I've restarted all of the equipment. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and it's still offline. If I wait for an upredictible amount of time, (hours to days), it will come back online and than it will run for an unpredictible amount of time. I also downloaded and ran the HP diagnosis software and it came up with nothing. I can see the printer on my network. I can ping it and perform a tracert to it, I just cannot get it to come online.
    HELP!!

    Hi Klaatu153i,
I understand you are having intermittent issues with the printer going offline.
I would try another Ethernet cable and another port on the router to see if that helps.
I would try using a higher value to avoid IP conflicts. (e.g. if the current IP is 10.0.0.1, change only the last part to 10.0.0.20 so the address will remain and won't be used by other devices when the printer is powered off)
Try plugging the Ethernet cable into the printer and the computer to see if it  gets a valid IP address and stays online to test the card.
I have provided a document for the http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00312056&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&la... Disregard the title please.

  • Linksys E3000 dropping wireless connections

I know others have posted this and I have followed the advice I could find:
Set channel manually - i've tried all the channels no help
Different SSIDs for 5g and 2.4g
    Beacon Interval 50
    Fragmentation threshold 2306
    RTS Threshold 2304
    I'm running firmware 1.0.04 build 6   <script type="text/javascript"></script> Dec 6, 2010
I've had the router for 4 months now and this has been happening for the last 3.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

As per the scenario that you explained that even after upgrading the firmware the connection drops... But after upgrading the firmware did you reset the Router and configured it back...So for better connectivity reset the Router and configure it again as per the ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) setup...
While setting up the router reduce the MTU size to 1400 from auto...
For Channel Settings of 2.4 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, 11..
For Channel Settings of 5 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 40 or 161..
Then click on Security tab disable SPI Firewall Protection, uncheck Filter Anonymous Internet Requests...
Disable all the anti-virus and security centers...
After doing all these settings then check the condition...
