  • Firefox don't load CSS Background at all on any Websites.

    Hey All
    I am running Firefox12 on Windows 7 ( 64 bit )
Firefox does not load ANY css bg images, css background colors and text colors. Layout is all completely normal, but all colour and background stuff doesn't work (links are all blue, pages all white, etc.). at all on any sites.
I've tried disabling all add-ons and restarting firefox and restarting the computer and clearing the cache and all that good stuff.
Settings are not blocking images and are surely loading all image content automatically and all.
    Also Checked
Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors: Colors > [[X]"Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
    So that's not it
I also use Firebug, but clearing the console does nothing. Neither does uninstalling Firebug. I noticed that in the Firefox Error Console I receive warnings for these issues. For example on this page I see numerous warning like:

  • Firefox 8.0.1 on mac - when i close my laptop then open it, pages don't load and i can't use tabs

I have firefox 8.0.1 and am using a macbook pro. For some reason, after I close my laptop, when I open it again firefox starts having problems. If I had multiple tabs open I can't switch between tabs or close them, and I can't open new tabs. Also, the pages don't load right.
I got CleanMyMac and used it to uninstall firefox, then I reinstalled firefox and this did not fix the problem.

If you see "Remember history" then you have the default and that should mean that remember form data is selected.<br />
You can verify that via the custom settings choice.<br />
That choice won't stay selected if all settings have the default value like I wrote above, so in such a case it is merely for inspection or to make it possible to make changes to the default settings.
If Firefox isn't storing form data despite that the remember form data setting is selected then there can be a problem with the formhistory.sqlite file that stores form data.
Rename or delete formhistory.sqlite (plus formhistory.sqlite-journal and formhistory.sqlite.corrupt, if they exist) in the Firefox Profile Folder in case there is a problem with the file that stores the "Saved Form" data.<br />
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
That will remove all saved form data, so you may want to rename formhistory.sqlite to formhistory.sqlite.sav or move the file to another folder in case you need to recover some saved data.
If that has worked then you can remove the renamed files.

  • Firefox won't load or slow every time since 18 update I have all necessary cleaning done--just don't open right now

Lately Firefox does not load on my Vista--especially since update 18 happened. It shows that Firefox is running in the task manager but the page doesn't come up. This is every time I try to start the browser.
It runs once I can get it to come up--but it never ever comes up the first time without going into task manager and finding the file it is in and starting it there as "administrator". This is very very annoying--before I uninstall and change browser back to Chrome which has its own issues--perhaps you can enlighten me as to how to fix this problem--it needs a patch? Don't tell me to dump history cookies etc. This I have already tried and it doesn't do anything--the problem persists. Any solutions for me? Thanks
    Lr

I have 5 different Win7 64-bit installations. As soon as i upgraded to FF18...EVERY single systems browser experience slows to a crawl. CPU and memory spike beyond control. In fact I have to use Chrome to browse. This is so incredibly unacceptable. My entire family is soooo frustrated. They have reverted to IE, and i provided each device with a fresh install of Chrome, no issues whatsoever.
As for suggestions here, I have no intention of following any of these lame instructions to check anti-virus, video card switching, or resetting FF to defaults which will cause loss of some of the personalization.
Its a bloody shame. Farewell FF. Enjoy your poorly QA'ed release....!!!

  • Are Java and Flash (or any plugin; as a matter of fact) supported on Linux Firefox 8? I don't see any lib or plugins directory in the install directory.

I don't see any plugin support on installing Linux Firefox 8 tar.bz2 package. I've tried symlinking libnpjp2.so and libflashplayer.so to the isntall directory but Firefox doesn't seem to recognize those. I don't find any mention of disabling plugin support (Java and Flash specifically) on Firefox 8 release notes. Is anybody else facing this issue?

Thanks. Creating a "plugins' directory inside the profile directory, and putting symlinks to plugin files inside the directory solved the problem

  • Don't load tabs until selected and then load with refresh (or skip cache) [Firefox 19]

    Hi there,
I use Firefox 19 with the option "Don't load tabs until selected" (in Options/Tabs). It's a neat option but when the tab reloads, it doesn't refresh the page but just reloads it at the state when the browser last closed.
With Firefox 3.6, the addon Bar Tab provides the same option (because it was not an in-built option in FF yet) but reloads the page with a refresh so it is up-to-date.
How can I achieve this in Firefox 19, reloading with a true refresh or by automatically skipping the cache?
    Thanks for the help.

That is how it is implemented in current Firefox versions.<br />
With this setting only the memory cache will be used.

OK, I think I have this solved. After reading my post over, I decided to rethink the problem. First thing I did was download Chrome and I tried using that and IE again and surprise! I was having the same problem on those browsers as well. So now we know it wasn't Firefox. I then figured maybe a slow computer meant a virus, so I ran scans. I've had both Avast and IOBit for months now and I've never had a problem with either of them before. Then I downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a third scan. They all picked some stuff up, but nothing serious. Then I tried disabling all the antivirus stuff and that didn't solve anything. But then I decided to keep Malwarebytes and I uninstalled IOBit Security and whammo - problem solved.
I have no idea why out of the blue IOBit would be causing a problem like this so if someone knows, please let me in on the secret. Additionally, IE was working fairly well last night but not this morning. I also don't know why removing IOBit would take care of the nsAppShell issue, because supposedly, that's related to Firefox plug ins. And one more thing...when Comcast hooked my neighbor up to cable, they did it by putting a splitter on my line. They were messing about with the lines yesterday before I got on my computer last night trying to decide how to rerun them and today they did that, taking the splitter off my line and giving my neighbor his own line. That was finished about 30 minutes before I uninstalled IOBit. So....who knows?
But I ain't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. I have my Firefox back and I am so sorry for bad mouthing you last night - I love you, Firefox!

  • My extensions have stopped working. They appear in the Add-on list as installed, but they don't load with Firefox.

I have many extensions downloaded. They all worked earlier today, but now none of them are working. They appear in the add-on list as installed, but they don't load. I cannot find them anywhere in any Tools or Options. I use Speed Dial, Read It Later, etc., and they're all gone.

You can delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.

  • Firefox does not load url's containing dashes followed by a dot.

Firefox doesn't load pages that have dash characters before a dot. For example.

This is a linux problem. The only solution I found works, and is pretty safe. dig or ping the name of the url with the - and copy the ip adress. With root permission use a text/code editor to edit /etc/hosts . On a new line add the ip adress and the name of the url, (xxx.xxx.xxx.xx url-.blahblah.com) and save it. Log out and in, then the url should work. (Don't include "http://", just use the url without the http)

  • Firefox doesn't load from the quick launch

sometimes when i click the quick launch icon on my task bar Firefox does not load right. All i get is a blank white screen and it happens more than just a few times. I have to reload the page after i close it out. Also i keep getting issues when I click the quick launch icon that it says oops we need to restore your last session. And it was closed out properly. Especially first thing in the morning after I start up my computer. Is there anything that can be done with these issues.

    Hello,
I am using Firefox 26.0 on Windows 7, 64-bit without any issues and want to help resolve this issue for you. To narrow down the root cause of the problem, can you please try opening Firefox in safe mode and then see if the sluggishness after repeated usage is being observed. Try opening Firefox in safe-mode each time, so that we can narrow to the root cause

  • Follow-up - Loading forms

Listed below are details on my original problem.
One solution I am trying has been to in the connection settings of my browser is to set the proxy to (local, 27.0.0.1) then direct form builder to my browser (firefox) using preferences and selecting run-time tab and selecting the firefox.exe file. Unfortunately I am being told by the browser that it requires to load additional software to solve the problem. Are there other setting that I need to create with in Oracle to allow it to run a form??
I am a student doing course in Oracle and have been setting up Oracle on my home computer, could I ask that response provide a reasonable amount of detail/steps that may help lead a novice through the process, thanks.

The problem is that I get into Oracle, start SQLPlus, create some tables, start-up sJ... start-up/initialisation and then load form builder and open form file. If I try to run the form, I am first asked to log into the database that allows my tables to be read/write in the form. Then a html window appears but there is no form instead I get the following:

    Explorer window appears

In the window the following appears:

    James,
add the following variable in the Oracle Home entry in the registry as a new String value
    FORMS90_HIDE_OBR_PARAMS
The value of this variable should be set to 0 (zero).
The problem you face is caused by a feature that is supposed to hide the username/password details from the request URL when starting Forms from the development environment. At least on XP there are known issues with this. Using teh variable above switches this feature off.

  • Firefox won't load some Yahoo sites, yet will load others like My Calendar, etc.

Recently, my Firefox has stopped loading "some" pages for Yahoo. I cannot load for example, My Yahoo Home Page, it just comes up "blank", no error message or anything. This also happens when I try to just load the base Yahoo page. Yet I am able to load my Yahoo Mail Page, as well as my Yahoo Calendar. It also occurs in other sites that I have used as well, so it's not related specifically to Yahoo sites. It also is Crashing when I try to do things as simple as click on the "why keep your Add-Ons updated link in the lower right of this forum help section. This is why I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, as I figured something got messed up to make it unstable.
As I said I have "uninstalled Firefox 4.0 and re-installed it", but yet no change. I also am able to load these various Yahoo sites when I use an different browser. I have also cleared my History and Cache, Cookies, etc, but still nothing has helped.
I need to fix this ASAP, as my home page has things on it that I need, and when I load up my yahoo in Explorer for example, I am missing a lot of my Favorites, Tool Bar Bookmarks, etc. Any help with this would be appreciated.
UPDATE: I just got off a chat session with support, and they suggested I run FireFox in Safe Mode, disable all Add Ons and then add them back one at time if I need them back. I did this, of course, "lost" my Chat Session and the problem described above "STILL" exists. Now I have an even bigger mess, as I have none of my same "look" and feel of my Firefox that I had before. How do I get out of "Safe Mode" now, and get back to the same look I had before? Remember, once I get back to this point, then I still have to deal with the "Original Issue" I once had posted above. Thank you.

Update: This is NOT just related to "Yahoo" pages, while this problem first began with some of my Yahoo pages, it is now also happening with other NON Yahoo things I want to load up. Like Twitter, or Links in emails that load Blank, or even images within emails that show up Blank in the preview part of Yahoo mail. It is NOT a Yahoo issue as I have loaded up my Yahoo Mail in IE and Chrome, and everything loads wonderfully. I can even load up sites like Twitter, and other websites that will NOT load in Firefox, but they come up fine in other Browsers.
I have done the ONLY suggestion that came from Firefox Tech support, to load up FF in Safe Mode, but the problems still exists. I have uninstalled FF and re-loaded it, but the same problem is there.
Does anyone have any ideas here at all? I can't seem to get any Fire Fox help, so I am reaching out to the community here to see if anyone can help.... Thank you !!
