Linux Installation- I can't find the required install script

I'm trying to follow the LabVIEW installation guide for Linux, but I am having trouble. This post will be kind of long, as I will try to tell you everything I have done so far. I'm also kind of new to Linux, so I'm sure there are many things I don't know.
I'm trying to use http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374718a.html#installing
and http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375845d.pdf
Step one from the guide is to insert the "installation media" and run
#sh ./INSTALL
and that's easy enough. Or at least it would be if I had any idea where this sh file is. I requested a copy of the install disks from my university (I'm installing on one of their computers), and they said that while they don't have any Linux install disks, they were pretty sure "it is on there somewhere," whatever that means. That seems to be about the extent of their knowledge regarding linux.
On this disk is a folder named slcp10 with contents slcp10.cab, slcp10.mis, and slcp200_mft.cab, all of which are windows files and as far as I can tell impossible to run on linux unless I'm using WINE, which is clearly not the way to go.
I also have a few ISOs from the site licensing department, but likewise no one seems to know anything about installing on linux. After mounting these ISOs I see that they contain the folders Bin, Common, Distributions, Licenses, and Readme (which is full of all kinds of irrelevant stuff). They also contain the files academicsitelicense.html, asladminresource.html, autorun.exe, autorun.inf, nisuite.xml, patents.txt, readme_core.html, setup.ede, and suite_md5_1.xml, none of which seem promising. Again, I only know how to install .exe files using WINE.
I've since turned to the internet to try and download it from NI directly, and have gone to http://www.ni.com/download-labview/ and selected "Already own LabVIEW? Download the latest version." From there I select the dropdown for alternative OS, and select the MAC OSX option as I read somewhere on the NI help pages that this would work on a linux machine (which makes sense to me, as MAC is UNIX-based, right?). Well, that gives me a dmg file (apparently some sort of mac file?) which I found a way to use on linux by extracting it in 7zip and then mounting the hfs file. This still seems to be some sort of evaluation program, as it contains LabVIEW2014Evaluation.pkg, readme.html (which takes me to the OSX install readme-useless), installation_guide.pdf (again, solely for MAC and useless to me), drivers.webloc, and the folders Extras and Licenses.
I'm at wit's end, man. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I've never had so much trouble installing a program before in my life, because technically I haven't even started the installation process yet, and I'm already about to defenestrate my computer. Please help me. I don't know what else to do, and I'm sure there is a very simple solution that I'm too ignorant to see.
At our other lab we run windows, and installing is cake. After learning Linux over the past few months, I never thought I'd say this, but I actually wish I had a windows machine right now.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Well, I managed to get it installed, but only because I found another ISO from the site licensing department that had linux install files. Oddly enough, this single ISO is a scant 3 Gb while there are three other ISOs that each come in at 7.5 Gb. Are there really that many missing packages in Linux?
Sorry if anyone reading this has similar issues, but the best I can do is say find the Linux install disk.

  • How do I install OS 10.7 NOT 10.7.5 on a mac running Snow Leopard 6.8  i.e. where can I find the original install app for Lion OS 10.7.0?

I'm running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard fine on my MacPro1,1, Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 2.66 GHz  Mac, but I need to install Lion 10.7.0 to run a program I need. How do I install OS 10.7 NOT 10.7.5, because I get this message when I try to install 10.7.5, which I've downloaded:"This update requires Mac OS X version 10.7." on a mac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, So i need to install the original 10.7.0 over the 10.6.8  i.e. where can I find the original install app for Lion OS 10.7.0? The original Lion 10.7. is not avaialable for purchase from the App store or anywhere,  even C-Net . Where can I find it to purchase?
Also it seems I cannot install Mountain Lion over 10.6.8 as advertised. When I go to purchase I get this message: "We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer."   I think my computer can handle it (specs above) Are there any workarounds to this?

If you're getting a "This update requires Mac OS X version 10.7" message, than you have the updater and not the full installer. Go to your Purchases section of the Mac App Store and you should see the full version there. But it may be 10.7.5, though in my system is shows as being from 2011 which would appear to be the original version.
As to Mountain Lion, that's supported only on the Early 2008 Mac Pro or newer.

  • On installation of Firefox 4 beta, it tells me that it won't run on my Mac. When I go to system requirements, it takes me to a page for Firefox3.6 requirements. Where can I find the requirements for the beta?

The link to system requirements for Firefox 4 beta takes you to a page that gives you the requirements for Firefox 3.6 instead. I assume that the requirements for the beta are different as I can't seem to install the beta on my Macs. Where can I find the beta system requirements?

I never expected Mozilla to neglect the users of Apple's PowerPC (PPC) computers, while still supporting much older operating environments such as Windows XP. So, I should just throw away a $6,000 system, which is still fast and functional, and contribute masses of heavy metals to land-fills because…?
I'm hurt and confused after supporting Firefox for many years — installing and using it not only on my own computers but on most of my customers' computers. Now I have to tell my customers with PPC Macs they can't have a secure cross-platform browsing experience from Mozilla. They'll have to learn to use some other browser, or buy a new computer.
If one doesn't buy a new computer every year, one doesn't deserve Firefox 4. This is sort of sounding more like a Microsoft™© doctrine. (But wait, I can still have Firefox 4 on a ''SERIOUSLY CRAPPY WINDBLOWS XP pile of rubbish?!'') Please open your eyes Mozilla. This just doesn't make sense.

  • Where can i find the OC4J.SH script file

hi everyone... anybody can tell me where can i find the oc4j.sh file.. ??? this script allows to run an instance of oc4j on linux... also this allows to start oc4j as a service.. please help.-... if you have the source of this script please put it here...

You should be able to find it in $ORACLE_HOME/bin, where $ORACLE_HOME is the place you install your oc4j. It seems this "oc4j.sh", "oc4j.cmd", or just "oc4j" comes to into being since oc4j 10.1.3. So you can just download oc4j 10.1.3 standalone, unzip the file, and find it in the bin directory.
As far as I checked, this oc4j.sh is a very thin wrapper around oc4j.jar or admin.jar. There is nothing fancy about it. You can just as well start your oc4j by
      java -jar oc4j.jar
To start oc4j as a service, or a background process as it is usually called on linux,
      java -jar oc4j.jar &

  • Satellite L300 - After XP installation it can't find the WiFi router

After insatlling XP SP1 and insatlling many drivers all except for WLAN works. I did install the drivers and i did install Atheros for managing my connections, but It seems not to even find the wifi router.
I'm using toshiba satellite l300 pslbce.
PS! I had the laptop running on Ubuntu berfore, worked fine.

Yes, installing SP2 is very important on newer laptops since so much changed from SP1 to SP2
Here is some info found on Wiki:
SP2 added new functionality to Windows XP, including an enhanced firewall, *improved Wi-Fi support*, such as WPA encryption compatibility, with a wizard utility, a pop-up ad blocker for Internet Explorer 6, and Bluetooth support.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP#Service_Pack_2
Going from SP2 to SP3 is not a big step, but since SP3 is basically a compilation of hotfixes since SP2, you should install SP3 as well for security reasons.

  • I can't find the Foundation Pack 11.1.1.4.0 demo

    Hi,
I installed Foundation Pack(FP) 11.1.1.4.0 for Linux x86 according to the following installation and upgrade guide.
For installation option I chose the "Complete Install".
Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation and Upgrade Guide for Oracle Application Integration Architecture
    Foundation Pack 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0) Part Number E17949-02
After completing the installation I can't find the directory $AIA_HOME/samples.
In the installation guide of the FP 11.1.1.2.0, there is the chapter about deploying FP demo.
But there isn't it in the installation and upgrade guide FP 11.1.1.4.0.
Oracle Application Integration Architecture Foundation Pack 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.2.0): Installation Guide Release 1 (11.1.1.2.0) Part No. E17360-01
Isn't the demo originally included in FP 11.1.1.4.0?
    Best Regards,
    Mineaki

    Hi,
I am also looking for the AIA demo for the 11.1.1.4 version.
Do you know the exact date, when it will be available on OTN?
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Can't get my Iphone to sync it can't find the drive?

My Iphine goes into a loop and says it can't find the required drive.

Your iTunes or your iPhone? if its iTunes; your itunes is trying to sync a file from a network/external drive that is not available. Check your stuff and try to sync again.
    If its the phone itself:
    1. Ensure iTunes is closed & iPhone is disconnected but keep USB cable connected to iPhone
    2. hold down CTRL + SHIFT on your keyboard
    3. connect USB cable to PC and wait. If iTunes doesn't start for a minute then start it (keeping hold of CTRL + SHIFT)
    4. if it wont let you start iTunes or all your icons are selected then release CTRL + SHIFT
    5. when iTunes starts it may ask you about safe mode or something similar, say yes
    6. Your iPhone should list as a device as normal, click sync.
    OR
1: The Cord you are using to connect the phone is messed up, borrow another one to test or buy a new one.
2: for some reason you have a faulty USB port. It may work with other items (HDD's, printers etc) but you will get the error when trying to use iTunes with that port. Choose another port.
    3. Also make sure you aren't using a stupid USB hub or cradle for this. plug in from phone to USB port directly on the computer.

  • How to find the system default scripts and prompts in UCCX 8.0

    Hello everyone,
I have a bit of experience in UCCX 6.0 and just began to use UCCX 8.0. There's a question that where can I find the system default scripts and prompts in 8.0? In 6.0, I can find them in installing directory, but 8.0 is linux based so I can not do that in same way.
    Thanks.

You can Login to CLI with either root access or remote user access and get default scripts by going to
    CD /opt/cisco/uccx/Scripts/system/default
At this point you have to connect to ftp server and move these default script to yoru FTP server.
    I hope this helps

  • Can I use the installation disc from a 15"macbook pro to restore my 17" since I can't find the discs

can I use the installation disc from a 15"macbook pro to restore my 17" since I can't find the discs

There's nothing at the Apple Store. Whatever you need you will have to get elsewhere. You can download Mountain Lion if you have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and an Apple ID. See:
Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will receive physical media - DVD - by mail.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
    Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
    Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
Before upgrading check that you computer meets the minimum requirements:
    Snow Leopard General requirements
      1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
      2. 1GB of memory
      3. 5GB of available disk space
      4. DVD drive for installation
      5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may
          apply.
      6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
First, you need to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 as stated above.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Before upgrading check that you computer meets the minimum requirements:
    Lion System Requirements
      1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or
          Xeon processor
      2. 2GB of memory
      3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
      4. 7GB of available space
      5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
      1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
      2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
      3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
      4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
      5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
      6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
      7. Xserve (Early 2009)
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.

  • Where can u find the ITunes Installer because it says it is no longer downloaded on my computer but ive had itunes for awhile now

My Itunes is not working right i cant sync my ipod because it says the service is not downloaded anymore and i need to find the ITunes Installer where can i find that and do u have any ideas on helping cause i cant sync music.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Nothing in the Acrobat 8.x product family is compatible with Windows 7 (or any contemporary OS).
The Acrobat 8.x product family passed into End of Support way back -- (November 2011).
The current release of Acrobat (XI) is compatible in Windows 7.
