Linux TestDrive SAP NetWeaver 7.02 MaxDB available in SAP Shop

We have just released a fresh version of our NetWeaver testdrive. Testdrive of NetWeaver 7.02 SPS7 is MaxDB based and can be ordered free of charge in SAP Knowledge Shop (www.sap.com/shop -> Knowledge Shop -> Documentation > SAP NetWeaver > SAP NetWeaver), material number is 50105321. A DB2 LUW version will follow within the next few weeks, we also work on a download version. We have tested with SLES10 and SLES11, RHEL6 and Ubuntu 10.10. Suse will provide a custom made SLES11 SP1 based virtual appliance with sufficient diskspace to home the testdrive. We have worked on a couple of simplifications to make the installation process even simpler than it was before.

Hi all,
Do we have any option to install SAP NetWeaver 7.30 High-Availability System on the third-party cluster solution, except for MS Cluster Service?
I tried to install the first cluster node without MSCS configuration, however, sapinst.exe checks whether we already set up MSCS on this node, then installer aborted.
I'd like to know the way to disable this checks. (Or, way to mimic the installer as if MSCS cluster configuration was done.)
If unavailable, I have to install MSCS first, and SAP NetWeaver, then also have to uninstall MSCS instead of out cluster software;
It seems to me no sense.

Thanks for your quick response.
It is disappointed for me that HA Installation is tightly combined with MSCS.
Do we have a way to migrate from other installation scenario to High-Availability?
For example, once we install ASCS instance as distributed system, then migrate
it for High-Availability usage, leveraged by profile updates and so on?
I'm not sure how High-Availability installation is different from other installation
scenario except for installation path and hostname to be used for connection.

SAP NetWeaver DNS Domain Name System for SAP?

Hi all,
I need to install SAP Netweaver 7:01 SR1 ABAP Trial Version.
I use Microsoft Windows XP.
During the installation process asks the DNS Domain Name System for SAP.
What should I put in this field?
Following is the result of ipconfig:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix....:
IP Address.....................................: 10.10.0.10
Subnet Mask..................................: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway...........................:
The name of my machine is solaris.
In the host file put the following:
10.10.0.10 solaris

SAP NetWeaver 7.1 CE SP05 Trial - SAP System is missing

To all:
I have completed the installation of SAP NetWeaver 7.1 CE SP05 Trial locally to my PC.
When I go into NWDC, I noticed that a SAP instance does not exist in the pulldown Windows -> Preferences - SAP AS Java. When I tried to register my Instance Host and Instance Number it says the sap instance is not currently reachable, check instance name,
So, my question is to everyone, any ideas on why my SAP System is not displayed?
Do I have to have that defined prior to registering the Instance Host and Instance Number?
I have looked at SAP MCC and made sure that for CE1, that my
Instance Host and Instance Number are there.

Start the server first, then you can add it.
By the way, not NWDC, but NWDS.

I need to know, while executing the screen from NWDS we see a SAP standard logo on top left of mobile screen,

SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7 Java Version And SAP NetWeaver 04s ABAP Version

Hello,
I would like to ask if anyone has installed both Java and ABAP version on PC/Notebook.
What did you install first and why?
When installing the second of the two, did you need to turn off or detete any part of first installation?
Any advice on the installation of both versions on one PC would be appriciated.

Hi. I have installed NW04s ABAP stack and the NW04 Java stack(slim edition) on my laptop. I installed ABAP first, then the java stack. I did do it the other way around, but the ABAP stack would not load successfully, so remember ABAP first, then java. No, did not turn off or delete anything from the abap installation.

SAP NetWeaver 7.02

Hello guys,
I have a question regarding the latest trial version and the license.
I installed and everything worked great. However, now that I am trying to get a license key I run across the following problem:
I determine my HW key within transaction SLICENSE. And when I go to:

I fail to find the right system in the dropdown box. In my understanding there should be something like:
NSP - SAP NetWeaver 7.02 (MaxDB)
This entry is not available and non of the other entries helped me getting a license for the system.
Does anyone know how to solve it?

Hello Faisal,
when I try that I receive a file that has the wrong installation and wrong system number.
And when I adjust those numbers so that they match my installation I receive the following message:
rc of SsfLibVerify: 5 = SSF_API_SIGNER_ERRORS = there are signer errors.
uResult = 27 = SSF_API_SIGNER_NOT_OK/SSF_API_RECIPIENT_NOT_OK = Signature not valid / operation not okay for recipient.
I just don't understand why the license key selection does not match the system that is available for download...

I am using up to now Windows XP Home Edition. After some problems during installation I have read again the "recommendations" for using the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version SP12. Furthermore I searched here in SDN for solutions which might be available regarding the problem I have.
The important fact is that this software is released only for the following operating systems:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows Server 2003.
(having a NTFS file structure etc.)
No other release is done (taking into account Windows Vista).
I have done an update to Microsoft Professional Edition but I have still some installation problems.

Up to now I have no idea why after installation of Windows XP Professional I have still the same problem.

But I have the feeling that my Windows XP Professional Installation was not correct (because there are some other problems around too)
So my recommendation to the description for downloading would be to highlight more this important recommendation of use of the ABAP trial version

For further versions which might be released in the future (hopefully) it would be nice if the support regarding Windows versions would be a little more broader (Windows XP Home etc.). But this is only a wish from my side.

Install Trial BO like SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial version

Hello, i would like to know if it´s possible to install some trial Version of BO in orther to install it in my laptop like i´ve just done with the SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial Version 701 (With SAP-BW 70).
I know that that there are some links to download BO software but i really don´t know where to start and if there is any problem with the installation on my laptop with MaxDB ans SAP server installed... basically i have installed SAP with BW in my laptop and it´s working ok. Wich software may i install and wich are the requirements if i want to practice with BO ?
I´ve just downloaded BO from the following link but it´s the correct one ?

As [SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0|SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0] is available, I wonder if there will be a 7.02 version of NSP? Is there any plan?

you may already be informed that the version you was looking for is now available at

It's a "NW7.02 SP6" - "XP/Vista 32-bit" version. - no 64bit
(If you're using Win7 the XP-mode probably allows to run the system as well)

Portal in SAP NetWeaver 7.1

Hi,
i tried to find information about the new release of sap netweaver portal but i could not find the information.
In sap netweaver ce 7.1 the portal functionality is included. Is this the portal that is intended for productive use or is this the version for developers so that we should wait until sap netweaver 7.1 is available?

All,
I had a few questions about the SAP Netweaver 7.1. Has it been released? I am not able to locate installation files for the 7.1. If not, when is it scheduled to be released?
Also, I am so confused as to what the difference is between SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 and SAP Netweaver 7.1. Am I able to download a Netweaver web AS 7.1 with CE??

1. Is it true that SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1 only available for SAP Netweaver 7.x ?
2. Is it true that I will never be able to have SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1 on my current SAP ECC 6 EHP 5 (SAP Netweaver AS 7.02) ?
3. If no. 2 is true, it means I must purchase new license in order to have SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1. Is it true ?
4. If no. 3 is true, it means I must maintain 2 instance of SAP Netweaver AS, SAP Netweaver AS 7.02 for my ECC 6 and SAP Netweaver AS 7.3 for my SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1. Is it true ?

you Need to have a separate MI 7.1 box ,which connects to the SAP ECC 6 EHP5 backend.

Hello there,
You don't need NWDI for each environment. Just need only one NWDI server for the entire landscape.
In the NWDI you need to create tracks and configure your landscape as QA, PREPOD and PROD.
Standard scenario in a project.

NWDS will be connected to the [SLD]. You create a DTR client in NWDS. Once the developer checks in the code to NWDI. NWDI administrator can approve or reject the transport to the next environment. Basically you can configure all these at NWDI.
