Linux Ubuntu drivers for GT-70?

are there any drivers for linux?

Linux is not like Windows, you should find that it will just 'work' out of the box, without having to install any drivers. You might just need to install video card drivers, but Ubuntu allows you to do this easily.
You can boot from a CD or USB drive and try Ubuntu out without installing it first, give it a try and see what you think.

  • Toshiba, make Linux - Ubuntu drivers for bluetooth USB sticks

Toshiba, please make proper Linux - Ubuntu drivers to your bluetooth USB sticks. I was surprised unpleasantly noting that there are no drivers available for Ubuntu. Please could someone explain THE reason to this kind of abortive policy towards Ubuntu users?

The problem is Ubuntu here. The Bluetooth adapter is directly connected to the USB bus so it should work without any problems if the OS comes along with the suitable Bluez software. Try to update your Ubuntu installation (apt-get update). Check if bluez is properly installed.

  • Linux Wifi Drivers for S10-3c

Have anyone here installed RHEL in the s10-3c netbook.. if yes, can anyone please help me out in setting up the Wireless connection..?
I had found several drivers for linux RaLink Wireless connector but I couldn't setup my connection.. help me out please..

This depends upon what you want to "drive" - my S10 boots happily into DOS, with no drivers whatseover. It should equally happily boot a generic Linux distro. If you want better than VGA graphics or beepy sounds, and your Linux distro can't handle nVidia or SoundMax, then why not check out the original manufacturer's websites?

  • ThinkPad E555 Ubuntu drivers?

I have bought a ThinkPad E555, which is listed on Ubuntu's "approved hardware" list. I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS installed, but am frustrated to find that most of the special keys and the trackpad touch gestures do not work. I presume that Ubuntu drivers for these functions on the E555 must exist for it to be on the "approved hardware" list, but I can't find any to download.

    Which kernel are you running?

  • T520 drivers for Windows

I have been unable to find any drivers from Lenovo for my new T520 running Windows 7, 64-bit.  When will these drivers be available from Lenovo's website?
I've re-installed Windows (Pro instead of Home), but I can hardly use it.  There's no support for the video driver, the wirelesscard or even the ethernet port!
    * note: except for sandy bridge issues, ubuntu drivers for the ethernet and wireless were pretty easy to come by  -- i'm eager to try 11.04 to get better processor support

I believe these drivers are already available. Take a look at this URL:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=/product.do?template=%2Fproductpage%2...
If the URL above do not work try the one below and select brand "notebook and handhelds", family "Thinkpad T520", your type, model and OS.

(Although I am employed by HP, I am speaking for myself and not for HP)

The solution works except that it is limited to a single page plus you don't have the option to select the ouput format. To me the solution is to get the driver for the printer working properly as it did when the product was first purchased.
I thought that the problem was limited to Windows 7/8 but I now find the same problem is happening running under XP.
I think the solution is to buy a non HP product where there is some form of assistance offered by the vendor as I am finding that HP isn't interested.

  • Partition Hard Drive (?) & Drivers For Ubuntu

    Hello IBM Enthusiasts,
I just purchased a used Thinkpad T43 (Type: 1871, Model: 4AU).  It's a really good condition, and I am excited to begin using it.  However, of course, like any savvy PC user - I want to do the initial configurations to my "new" computer right - to avoid the most problems later on.  That's main reason for posting this - seeking advice to be able to do some of these configuration right myself - instead of spending over $100 to have it done at a local "ma and pa" computer shop ...
The first priority for me is running the latest version of Ubuntu (and no longer Windows - the laptop I bought has XP Pro on it currently).  I chose a Thinkpad specifically because I was informed that has no problem with driver compatibility with Linux/Ubuntu.  Windows is a virus cesspool and takes up too much RAM with all the "beefed-up graphics nonesense".  Windows 7 even - although it's all pretty-looking and soft your eyes - yeah, no thanks ...
So then, of course - I thought it might be good to partition the 80 GB hard drive - with Windows XP Pro able to boot on one partition, and then install and run Ubuntu on the other [smaller partition] perhaps.  Of course, ideally, I would also want boot/recovery disks created for both operating systems (Windows and Ubuntu).  This is Plan A.
After talking to one male geek over the phone today, I am realizing that doing the partition might be a really BAD idea - especially if I've never really done it myself on an IBM.  In addition, the software that you need to create the recovery/boot disks - will not operate properly - because it won't be able to distinguish one partition from the other. That type of software is usually only able to "perceive" the ENTIRE drive - not the partitions individually.  RIGHT?
Then I thought of Plan B.  Why not just create the recovery/boot disks for Windows XP Pro (the T43 can create boot disks - VERY nice feature) - and then wipe the drive and install Ubuntu - without doing any partition at all?  This way I can just re-install Windows XP Pro again with the recovery/boot disk I would create - if hard drive ever encountered any problems.
Which one would you folks suggest - Plan A or Plan B.  Which one avoids the most catastrophe later on - and less likely to invoke major problems - that disable my computer completely or cost too much to have repairs done?
Also - I know I can download and install Ubuntu myself.  However, DRIVERS.  Which drivers will I need to install for the latest version of Ubuntu - once it is installed?  Where can I find these drivers (besides on Lenovo's website)?
Will I have any problems with a wireless [driver] once having installed Ubuntu?
That is all.  Thanks so much!
    Peter Curry
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you "vijaysaradhi" !!!  THAT's ... AWESOME! T hat is EXACTLY what was I was looking for!  I marked your response as an "accepted solution".  Instead of wasting more time calling more people or researching online - even having to pay someone to configure my computer correctly with Ubuntu - you provided a method that allows me to do it all for FREE !!!
Couple questions for you, though.  As I mentioned in my initial post, I know that my Thinkpad T43 can create recovery/boot disks.  Is there any freeware or free programs out there that I can download and install - to allow me to create a recovery/boot disk for Windows XP - BEFORE I run Wubi?  Or should my Thinkpad T43 already have a program on there (IBM software)?  If it should already have it on there - what is it called?
Next question - so Wubi allows you to keep Windows on your computer, boot into and run Ubuntu - without having to create a partition.  OK - great.  However, I still want to make sure that computer will still not be left vulnerable to all the typical viruses to be acquired with Windows.  If I leave Windows installed on my computer, I am not going to get all those viruses - unless I am actuall BOOTED INTO and RUNNING Windows XP, RIGHT?  I would not be susceptible to those viruses if I am running Ubuntu, RIGHT?  This is my main reason for running Ubuntu instead of Windows - SECURITY.
So this recovery/boot disk - that I am aiming to create for Windows XP - would essentially act like a Windows XP installation disk?  Meaning - I can just reinsert it and reinstall Windows XP - if or when - I need to?
And HOW - do I boot into Ubuntu.  What F-key to have to press when the computer is booting up?  Or does Wubi guide me through this step?
Last question.  What types of anti-virus/anti-spyware exist for Ubuntu?  Any there any better free ones available.  Or does Ubuntu naturally come with its own security software?
    Thanks so much !!!
    Peter C.

Does Toshiba support Linux? If yes when I find it?

TV tunner, forget it there is'nt a Linix driver for it yet.
