  • Different Text Sizes Linux / Windows

Anyone know anything about this? This is the same code, but
it displays differently on Linux than Windows. There shouldn't be a
scrollbar on the Linux / Firefox window. I know I'm running IE in
Linux, but it's the same result as if I was running it in Windows.
Firefox in Windows displays correctly also.

Why not have the size of that button lage enough to
    accomodate the text?
Buttons don't all have to be the same size. If you still want
    it the
same size as the others, you'll need to create a new button
    symbol for
    the one with smaller text.

  • Windows 8.1 forgets dpi / display size settings for one monitor on almost every reboot

    I use TV 32" with 1920x1080 and cintiq 13" with 1920x1080
when I boot my PC the resolution is fine but DPI is wrong.
In smaller monitor It's look like DPI is higher than the bigger one.
I already set dpi to be the same (smallest 100%) but it's not work until I do something to change display setting.
It's really annoy me. This problem is not happen when I use windows 8
Only solution I found is turn off
    "Turn on fast start-up".
When I do that It's boot like what I want. every monitor is the same DPI.
But it'll make my boot time longer.
It should be just start up windows and use the same dpi from the start.
So I think this problem is a bug in windows 8.1
    Best regards

    Thank you for reply.
I've already used the latest graphic card driver. But It's won't help this issue.
In registry editor. I check those variables then value of them is already set like that blog suggest.
So , it look like when windows start-up(with fast start-up) It use something like
suggest value for different monitor size instead of what I set in control panel. But when I turn off fast start-up windows use my setting value.
And I think there are a lot of people who got the same problem as me.
    Here is an example.

  • Font is shown very small when using IE Tab and Windows Display is selected to show larger fonts

I'm on Windows 7 - 64 bit and I set my Windows display to show larger fonts (from Control Panel, Display, then choose Larger Fonts). Now all pages show bigger fonts, except when I use IE Tab.
I use IE Tab so that I can open my Microsoft Dynamics CRM website on Firefox; however the fonts look way too small; it is even smaller than when the Display Setting was set to use normal size fonts.
Tried to change to use smaller resolution, it didn't work. Zooming-in is very slow on Firefox, so it is not an option for working on the webpage. Tried changing the default fonts on Firefox, however the page is still always opened with the very small fonts.
From Firefox I also unchecked the "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" (from Tools, Options, Content, Advanced), but it still doesn't fix it.
Played around with my Firefox IE Tab setting, but no luck.
I downgraded my Firefox to version 3.5.9 to use the older IE tab, but still not fixed yet.
Is there a solution for this? Thanks in advanced for your help,
    -Elisabeth

    Hi...
    Thanks for asking....
As I put in my post before, I include template0 in my template1, as seen in template1 (AHM001):
    <af:pageTemplateDef var="attrs">
    *<af:pageTemplate viewId="/template/AHM000.jspx">*
I use AHM000 inside AHM001. I use this approach to build many template based on one basic design.
Actually, I don't think the problem is in page template usage because as I submitted paralel to Metalink, I've already not called template0 in template1 but I copy template0's contents to template1.
Unfortunately, page designer show small view and below error messages still occured.

  • Course displays in too small a window once it's in LMS

We're having a problem with our Captivate courses where, once
we've uploaded them to our LMS (GeoLearning) and launched them,
they launch in a window that is too small and can't be manually
resized or maximized. The window is about 30% too small, and scroll
bars display, forcing you to either scroll or zoom out. We even
tried publishing with "Full Screen" selected. Nothing works.
The LMS folks told us that Captivate uses code that the LMS
doesn't recognize. They gave us code for us to manually paste into
the generated htm file that basically forces the browser window to
display at a certain size (we chose the same size as our project:
1014x713). However, this doesn't work. The window looks the same as
it did without the code. I've e-mailed them for further assistance,
but I was hoping that maybe someone on this forum could shed some
light on this problem. I find it hard to believe that Captivate
    doesn't play well with LMSs.
Has anyone else had problems with their courses launching in
browser windows that are too small and can't be resized once
they're in an LMS? If so, what, if anything, were you able to do to
fix it? This is a pretty serious problem. At this point, it looks
like the only thing we'll be able to do is tell our students they
have to zoom out to 75% to be able to see the entire screen. Or,
maybe we need to resize our projects, except we don't have time to
do that now. We're launching our new LMS and courses in about 10
days, and that's not enough time to resize the project and then
tinker with the placement of objects on the screen.
If anyone has any ideas, I appreciate your help! :( I'm going
home now! Have a great weekend.
    Lisa

Lisa, I am certain that this is a LMS problem, not a
Captivate problem, and encourage you to keep after the LMS company
for help. But if I were you, I would immediately start creating
smaller Captivate projects. The size you mentioned is humongous by
any standards I've ever heard, and it occurs to me that perhaps it
(they) is/are so large that the size falls outside acceptable
parameters for the LMS. Just a thought ...
I'm just rambling now so feel free to skip this but if it
makes you feel better - and I know it won't - I once worked for a
web-application designer who created his company's application to
    be run
only at 1024x768 or larger. When I pointed out that nearly
all our customers were still using video cards supporting 800x600
(maximum), his simplistic reply was that I should tell them to
upgrade their equipment. He was a complete idiot.
I have never seen a program that couldn't be designed to run
fine in 800x600 and that would alleviate your problem (yeah, I know
there might be exceptions, but I've never seen a legitimate one
except those that are designed only for pod-casting).

I see a small window displaying "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now". How do I stop appearing this window

Is this after you've chosen to Shutdown from the Menu, or just on it's own?
You can press the esc key to cancel, or Enter key to shutdown.
Check your System Preferences>Energy Saver>Schedule & see if it's set to shutdown at a certain time.

  • Open file/browse-file dialog window size too small

It seems like the size of the "Open file" and "Browse file"-dialog windows have become too small to use efficiently.
I'm not sure if this is related to the latest updates from testing, but it wasn't like this before. I have to resize the dialog window every time in order to be able to select files and folders.
The changes are not saved across the same session of a program, but it does result in unpredictable behavior in gedit.
If I resize the open file dialog, then close the dialog, then open it again, the changes are sometimes preserved, but not always. Sometimes it's small and sometimes it's resized, and there's no way of telling.
I'm running compiz-fusion and emerald, but the bug is not related to window manager, as it's the same with metacity and openbox. So it's for all GTK programs.
When I try to run gnome-appearance-properties, I get:
"Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager."
and the problem remains no mather what GTK theme I choose.
Is gnome-settings-daemon responsible for this kind of behavior?

The issue was resolved by updating all to gnome-desktop 2.24 from testing..

  • The window displaying bookmarks is too large (suddenly happened with the new version). I can't figure out how to make the display smaller. Zooming out does not work on the bookmark menu display.

    I have version 4, just downloaded, and a Mac w. OS 10.6. 7.
The bookmarks display (when I pull down "bookmarks") is much too wide. I can't figure out how to reduce the display size. The window is not persistent so I can't even get you a screen shot.
    Thanks, Sara

It seems there was a change in Firefox 4 where the width of the drop-down is now determined by the length the longest bookmark name in the folder being displayed. Previous versions of Firefox would shorten a long name like that and add an ellipsis to signify the name was truncated.
Sorry, I don't know how to change that other than to advise you to edit the name of that long bookmark name and make it less verbose. Just scroll down the list of bookmarks in that wide folder until you see the culprit, then right-click that bookmark and open Properties & edit the Name line at the top of that dialog.

  • In smartform folder's size appears smaller than main window

    Hi all,
I used folder and table in main window. table takes the width of main window but folder does not takes. in print preview folder's size appears small then table. please suggest how to increase the size of folder.
    regards

    Hi,
Try this way , First create a window inside the main window then create your folder node. Generally if you are creating a node inside the node it takes the default of main window.

If it might be quite tricky I guess I can always ask a retailer.

  • Display Size of the Visual Admininstrator

I have an interesting problem - the display size of the Visual Administrator in one of my Netweaver systems has opened very small - I cannot stretch it any bigger. In all the rest of my systems the Visual Admininstrator opens full screen (we are AIX-UNIX).
I think I can probably solve the problem by rebooting the server but I would like to know if there is any way to control the size of the Visual Admininstrator? Is there a configuration file or something similar?
    Thanks
    Patrick

    Hello Patrick ,
I have no idea how to resize the visual admin.
But the easiest thing to do is to install the visiual admin locally on a windows desktop.
Be shure you have installed jre 1.4.2 on your windows desktop.
    Then copy the complete /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSXX/j2ee/admin
    directory to your windows desktop.
Just doubleclick on the go.bat and the visual admin starts.
Create the desired connections and youre finished.

  • Safari 5 display size?

Every time I open Safari 5 in Windows 7 Professional I have to Zoom in twice to get a suitable display size on my google.com homepage.
Even adjusting the two font sizes in Preferences/Appearance has no apparent effect.
Also, what's the simplest way to return to my homepage?
    Thanks, Don

Thank you. I tried that but the pinch feature does not work for some reason. There could be some other problem in my general settings but short of doing a complete reset I looked and tried everything to remedy the problem. I am relatively new to Mac world so maybe I am overlooking some other obvious solution. One thing I did do is to download Opera which seems to work better as far as page display goes. Pinch function works but I cannot make the page stay the smaller size I pinch to, page stretches back to original size the minute I take my fingers off the screen!

  • Wrong ibook display size

    to the forum:
I just purchased a second hand ibook. It came
with Tiger installed and no original system disks.
(The CPU is a 700 MHz PowerPCG3 and there is 640MB
of ram) Although I didn't do much with the machine
under Tiger, everything seemed to be working fine.
In particular, the whole ibook screen was used.
I got the original system disks from Apple and
proceeded with Software Restore. That erased Tiger
and replaced it with earlier system software.
I can boot into system 9 and system 10, BUT
the display (under both systems) is about the size
of the 1984 mac display (surrounded by a large black
    border). Otherwise everything is working.
In system 9, the system profiler shows the
display card leading to display(2) which
has a screen size of 640 by 480. The monitor
panel in the control strip shows the
same thing along with "color LCD (1) 1024 by 768".
I don't know why two displays are shown.
In system 10, I can't find anything about the
display size, but it may be at the bottom
of a window I can't see (because of small screen).
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Photo Display Size

Can someone please tell me exactly where to set the true display size for photos/pictures on my Photoshop Elements 8 ??
Things so far are displayed much smaller than the actual size.  I have used Adobe Photoshop for years and still SO much I do not know. Am fairly new to PSE. I am used to clicking "View" and then "Print Size" to see something in it's actual size, but this is not working. For instance, I now have a 12" wide photo up and it is displayed at 8  1/4 in. wide.  Surely there is a setting somewhere which I need to correct?
    Thanks :-)
    tejas_me

Try clicking the print size button.
Also if you drag out the tabbed image window you can position it where you want and then click on the bottom right corner to drag the window to a larger size. I find this useful when viewing 1:1 whilst keeping the tools pallet visible on the left. Give it a try.
I think you maybe overlooking resolution which affects the pixel size but not the dimension size. For example you can have an 8 x 10 photo for printing at 200ppi, 240ppi or 300ppi. They will all print at 8 x 10 but at differing quality.
You can try this for yourself by clicking Image à Resize à Image Size
In the dialog that opens keep the resample image and constrain proportions boxes checked then experiment by typing differing resolutions into the document size box. See how the pixel dimensions change even though the document dimensions remain at 8 x 10.
Elements will always display the optimum number of pixels that it can depending on your monitor size, which means that only 25%, 50%, 75% etc. may fill the screen.
