Lion 10.7.5 update won't accept my apple id information

Since updating my computer to 10.7.5 I am unable to login using either my admin account or my apple id. I even tried using my son's apple id account, but no go. I know my admin and apple id accounts' information are correct (my apple id info is how I'm able to post in the forums). I've restarted the computer. I've shut the computer down. I don't get any funny noises or weird screen action. All seems to be fine until i try to login.

I just tried turning off the computer and unhooking all peripherals. Next I did a SMC reset. After that, I tried to do PRAM reset; however, I did not get a 2nd chime. I held the cmd + opt + P + R keys until the sign-in screen appeared. I tried the PRAM reset a second time, but still no 2nd chime. Annnnd still no login. I don't know if iCloud has anything to do with my problem but just in case, I've logged in and out of it. It didn't help. What else can I do?

iMessage and FaceTime won't accept my Apple ID in order to activate after upgrading to Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro.
My Apple ID works to sign in to the App store as well as on my iphone and iPad.

After each step, toggle iMessage and FaceTime off and then on again in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that you have an active Internet connection. Check your Wi-Fi network using standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting.
If you receive an error when signing in to your Apple ID, visit myinfo.apple.com, sign in to your account, and ensure that the primary email address has been verified.
Ensure that FaceTime has not been restricted: Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
In Settings > General > Date & Time, ensure that Set Automatically is on. If Set Automatically is on, but the incorrect time zone is displayed, turn Set Automatically off and then choose the correct time zone, date, and time. Then turn Set Automatically on again.
Enable iMessage and FaceTime while connected to another Wi-Fi network in a different location.

To change the ID on your phone for purchasing, go to Settings>Store, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in with the ID you want to use. However, apps and their updates are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them (regardless of the ID in Settings>Store). If you purchased apps with this other ID you will have to keep using it to update the apps.

Messages won't accept my Apple ID

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.5) and Messages won't accept my Apple ID. Accepts all my other Chat clients, just not the main one I upgraded for (i want to be able to respond to my iPhone texts on my iMac).
The error message i get is:
Could not sign in to iMessage.
The server encountered an error processing
registration. Please try again later.
There is probably an easy fix here...

Also check the Serial Number is present.
Use the Apple Icon Menu and About this Mac.
In the new panel click twice on the line that states the current OS version.
It will change to the Build number (of the OS) and then to the Serial Number.
If the Logic board has been replaced in a refurbishment or repair the Serial Number is supposed to be "flashed" to the new board.
If it is missing it will mean a trip to an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider.

Airport utility won't accept my apple ID

I just got an update on my Macbook Pro and when I rebooted it came up with Airport Utility. It said could set up Back to My Mac. However Back to My Mac won't accept my apple ID. Also Airport says my Time Capsule firmware needs updating. But I can't seem to do this without my Apple ID, which I have repeatedly put in and it won't get accepted. I checked with ITunes so I know my username and password are correct - they work fine with ITunes. I would like to at least be able to upgrade the Time Capsule firmware. Please!

The AirPort routers have two passwords.
One is a base station or device password, used to access the settings on the AirPort
The other password is a wireless network, used to join the wireless signal that the AirPort produces.
If you have forgotten a password, you can use a Soft Reset procedure to reset one or both passwords. See this Apple support document for details:

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

It sounds like you have too many devices associated with that Apple ID.
Sign on to iTunes on your computer. Go to Store > View Account from iTunes' menu. Sign in and click "Manage Devices". Remove some.

My iPad won't accept my Apple ID on iTunes & App Store

I recently had a problem with signing in with my apple id on ipad. It started when I can't download applications from the app store properly. The device will ask for my password but once I've entered the password it will load for a moment and get that GET button again. So I now signed out my apple id on itunes as well as icloud. I've reset my password. Now, it won't accept my apple id and password. But it worked perfectly on my icloud account. Once I've entered my password and id it will just load for a bit. The sign in button will not be active. But then after several seconds it will appear again with no further notifications or error display.

If this is dot mac or Mobile me you can still use IMAP eMail in the iCloud.
Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
MAKE A NEW ACCOUNT - DO NOT TRY TO ALTER YOUR EXISTING ACCOUNT.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    •    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    •    SSL Required: Yes
    •    Port: 993
    •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    •    Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
    •    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    •    SSL Required: Yes
    •    Port: 587
    •    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
    •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    •    Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

It won't accept my Apple ID password to update or install new apps?

I can log in to Apple ID on the website successfully but my iPad won't accept the password to download or update apps.

When you select update, verify that it is showing your correct Apple ID, perhaps you have an app that was downloaded with a different ID, all apps are always associated with the ID that first downloaded them.

If the problem persists after you reboot as suggested by Ralph:
Trouble connecting usually means interference, or another WiFi on the same channel.
If you have any cordless phones, keyboards, or cameras, check what frequency they use.
From a MAC or Windows machine you can see what channel each of the available networks are using. Make sure your network is on a channel nobody else nearby is also using.
