Lion 10.7 & Adobe Reader 9.4.5 scrolling issue

I have a 2010 iMac i5 quad core w/ 8gb ram and 2011 macbook pro i7 quad core w/ 8gb ram .  After upgrading to Lion 10.7 the scrolling in adobe reader has become choppy and slow.
On my previous OS it scrolled and moved smooth as glass.  I have checked with a few friends and they are experienceing the same problem.
Adobe....can you help us out?
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
P.S. Adobe, It would be nice to be able to use the pinch to zoom and image rotate feature in adobe reader with the new track pad hand gestures in Lion.......just sayin.

Thanks.  I will give it a try!
Phil

  • Adobe Reader for Android - Arabic support issue

    Dear Support,
I am trying to reach the developer for long time but the email provided is a mailing list which no one else has the right to post to it except their team.
There is a big problem with Arabic words searching in an Arabic PDF file with adobe Reader for android. To search for a word, I have to write the words backward, like instead of "Adobe" I have to write "ebodA" but in Arabic language. I know that your app developers are Indians, but please let an Arabic person show you how he can't search for a word in an Arabic PDF file. Please fix it urgently. it is very important for the Arabic language readers. Thanks for your action.

  • Adobe Reader Update causes weird printing issues

I recently updated my Adobe Reader to Adobe Reader X. I have a Toshiba with Windows 7 68-bit I believe. After updating to Reader X, I noticed that when I go to print a document, the print settings in Adobe are default set to Print on both sides. I was only printing 1 page so I ignored this and just hit Print, but what happened was really bizarre. The printer printed a blank 2nd page, and then Adobe prompted me to reset my even-numbered pages in the printer to proceed with double-sided printing. If I uncheck the Print on both sides option, I have no problems, everything prints fine. I understand there's already attention called to the bug in the update that defaults the print settings to Print on both sides and has trouble saving new settings. I don't care about that. This is what bothers me: Adobe and the computer and the printer and whatever else is involved should be able to communicate properly that if only 1 page is being printed, it need not print a 2nd blank page and basically force me through the double-sided print process if there's only 1 page, right? Isn't that sort of common sense? I don't mind having to uncheck the Print on both sides option when I go to print just 1 page, but it seems ridiculous to me that I should have to.
Just so you know, I installed the same Adobe Reader X update on a much older computer with a much older printer and had the same problem.
I am wondering if this is an Adobe problem or a printer problem. Neither of the 2 printers I tried this on do doulbe-sided printing automatically. They both require manual help to print on both sides. Will printers that automatically do double-sided printing also send the page through twice even if there is no 2nd page? Then this probably wouldn't be such an issue, if the printer did the double-sided printing itself, I wouldn't care if it passed the paper through twice.
But given that not all printers are equipped with automatic double-sided printing, this then becomes a real pain if I forget to uncheck the Print on both sides button because I then have to go through this entire 2-page process for 1 page. And my printer is in a common area, not right next to my computer, so it adds a lot of back and forth trying to print just 1 page.
Also I read up on previous posts about the default Print on both sides setting, and read one employee's comment that Adobe simply retains the last default setting used for printing PDFs. This is not true. Since my printer at home does not do automatic double-sided printing, I never ever ever use any double-sided printing setting. Even when I do print on both sides, I print odd pages first, flip them over and reset them in the printer, then send a second separate job to print even pages. Same with my work printer. I understand that by defaulting to the double-sided print setting, Adobe is sort of tricking you into saving paper and that's great and all, but all printers don't do double-sided printing automatically. I ended up wasting double the amount of paper last night trying to print a document last night while figuring this out, so way to go.

    Dear user,
We would request you to check your version from Help-> 'About Adobe Reader X' because we doubt that you are using an outdated version of Reader. Please update it to 10.1.3 because it was a known issue in 10.1.2 which got fixed by 10.1.3.
I would also request you to check your printer side setting from Control Panel-> Devices and Printers-> Right click Printer-> Printing Preferences-> Search for 'Print on both side or duplex printing' option (generally its under 'Finishing' tab)-> Uncheck it there if you are not using it.
Hope this will resolve your problem. Let us know the result.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Reader move the vertical scroll bar from left to right

    Hi,
is it possible to move the vertical scroll bar from left to right in Adobe Reader 9?
If not, are you planning to implement this functionality?

I meant from right to left, sorry
You see, I'm left handed and when I use the scroll bar that is on the right side with the left hand I don't actually see the content of the page, because my left hand is covering the screen (I'm browsing the internet in tablet mode and I use the pen to navigate between pages).
My system is a Tablet PC with Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 and Adobe Reader 9.3.2.
P.S. can you edit my post so the google indexes it right? (
    from right to left
instead of "from left to right")

I believe fixes was made in Reader 10.1.5+ to address protected mode in Citrix.
Can you give that a try?
If you are using Citrix Provisioning Services or SCCM/SMS to deploy out versions, every version of Reader/Acrobat in the farm should be uniformally deployed.  You can see the verison in the "Help" menu... "About..."
If you are using PDF through browser, you can still bring up the preferences via "Control K" when the PDF is viewed in browser context.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.3 patch issue

Thus far I have been completely unable to install the Adobe Reader 9.3.3 update on my Win7 Pro x86 machines. Has anyone successfully pushed this update bundle to Windows 7 as of yet?
The Adobe Reader 9.3.2 patch came down from patch management with no issues for a couple of months with no issues and have been using in my environment ever since. Got around to deploying 9.3.3 and can't get it to go at all.

Thank you for replying, I appreciate it. Every couple of days I just keep checking patch management to see maybe an udpates 9.3.3 package. As it is right now the 9.3.3 Reader update is completely non-functional for me. Yes, even after pressing the magic button and starting from scratch.
I've also been having some issues with patch management as well lately. My other big issue is the latest Flash update sometimes (randomly) uninstalls flash but never ever reinstalls it. Having to manually re-install Flash because the automatic method we are implementing to update Flash uninstalled the product is.... embarassing.
I'm currently very happy that I use WSUS for my MS updates, there is no way I could deal with this kind of occasional broken-ness for OS updates.

  • Adobe Reader XI signing allowed strange issue

    Hi!
All of  our users are using Adobe Reader XI.
They are asked to convert their work schedule into PDF (Ms Excel Save as PDF).
The strange thing we noticed is , some of  them can do digital certificate signing (Their PDF  security has signing allowed). But most have their digital signing greyed out and PDF security has signing not allowed.
These document were not extended using Adobe Acrobat. Why do we have 2 different occurrence.
    Thank you.
    David

    You're right! I was wrong!
    To solve:
    - open the address about:config
    - search for pdfjs
    - double click on entry pdfjs.disabled;false
And reset acrobat preview as described here: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them

  • Adobe Reader 9 - multiple instances performance issue

Dear all, I am having some performance issues regarding adobe reader, but only when running multiple instances. Opening a single, relatively small pdf ( 418kb ) works perfect, but adding to the list of open flies another very small file ( 102kb ), the cpu usage jumps to cca. 53% mouse movements become jumpy and the cooling fan goes nuts. Nothing helps until the second file I've opened is closed. Closing only the first instance doesn't help at all.
This happens with any two files I've tried. Large, small, graphics or not. Hardware is not the issue.
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards,
    Vince

This second file: is it one you made? Or does it happen with any
    second file?
If it isn't your file, does the problem stop if you turn off

  • Adobe reader 9.3 Add-in issue

    Hello All,
I am facing the problem when i open the document in Adobe 9.3.
I am getting the error as per the below screen shot.
So is there any Add-in to be installed in my computer or any other language pack that is required by Adobe to open particular document???????
Request you to please help me here as this is something urgent.
Thanks for your help and support in advance!

First: why are you such an old Reader version?
If for some reason you need to be on Reader 9.x, update to the latest version 9.5.5.  Otherwise update to the latest Reader X or XI.
Note 1: Reader XI is not supported on Vista.
Note 2: the two latest Reader X and XI versions are no longer supported on Windows XP.

  • Adobe Reader crashes when fast scrolling and using IAccessible interface

Acrobat Reader 8, 9 crashes on Vista, XP, 2003 server by following steps:
    1. Open two huge documents (>1000 pages).
    2. Get IAccessible object by AccessibleObjectFromWindow function from external application.
    3. Fast scroll in one document and quickly click on second doc's vertical slider bar several times.
Here I get APPCRASH ("Acrobat Reader has stopped working").
If external program doesn't get IAccessible, Acrobat Reader works normally.
If I close external program after getting IAccessible Acrobat crashes after scrolling too.
Reading mode option is set to "Read the currently visible pages only" in "Accessibility Reader Options".
    any ideas?

  • Adobe reader 9 - email (submit)  pdf issue

I created a form that allows us to fill out time off requests and click submit button which attaches the pdf to an email which is sent to our secretary. She enters in the time off request and then clicks the same button to mail it back to a supervisor. However when she does it she gets asked to choose to use a desktop email client or...(some other choice I can't remember). She daily has to rechoose the option and now that she's accidentally chosen the wrong option she gets the "send pdf data as" box which only allows her to save the PDF.
I'm finding nothing in any google searches on why this is happening or how to rectify the situation. This started happening after upgrading her to reader v.9 (no, downgrading is not an option)

I created a short PDF form to allow people joining our non-profit to submit us their name, address , Email address before flipping over to the PayPal site to make payment. The SUBMIT function works as intended (Email message w/pdf attached to my address is brought up) on a PC running only Acrobat PRO. With another PC running only Reader 9 I receive a message that "this operation not permitted". I have tried changing the preference setting to FDF (form data only) but have not found a way to do this yet. My solution has to work for the general public using only recent Readers on their computers.

    Hello,
I have a user who is trying to print out a pdf document using the print as an image file option.
This works except the printout is not centered .
Just wondering if there is a way to correct this?
    Thx,
    Allen

I am having this same issue in my office.  The printer will partially print the document and also spits out a page about the printer being out of memory.  Selecting "Print as Image" is our only work around but this sends a large slow page to the printer.
This was not an issue with version 9.
