Lion and Logic

Since installing Lion, I can no longer adjust my output levels in Logic Pro. I am told the driver is lacking. Plus if I try adjust sound output whlst playing anythingm iTunes for example.. The application shuts and repeats the' absence of driver' warning. If I dont adjust the volume, it plays fine.

Download the Latest Version of Logic Express from here

Install it... Restart your Computer... then see if you can Open and Register Logic...
If you encounter any issues after doing this.. Give Applecare a call and tell them you are a Logic User...

I suspect I know the answer to this already but....
Having recently updated to OSX Lion, this has 'broken' my use of Logic Studio (version 8). Now, what I should have really done was find out if the new OS supported the software but in my eagerness to install it I missed this vital check.
I know there is a way to launch Logic 8 (by going into the package content and launching it from there) but I have found this to be extremely unreliable as it crashes more often than it remains stable.
Is there any hope for there being a fix or update that would allow me to continue to use this version? I know it is my fault but I don't want to have to spend £160 or whatever the price is to upgrade that was caused by the purchase of the OS at £21
I know I have GarageBand but, for me, I need more than it provides.
Do I need to just bit the bullet on this one?

Mountain Lion and Logic/serial number

Hi all,
I purchased Logic 9.0 through the app store about a year ago, and it worked fine until I installed Mountain Lion a few days ago. When I open it, I receive a message that says 9.0 isn't compatible with the OS, and after doing some research I learned that others have solved this problem by upgrading 9.0 to 9.1.7. My problem is that after downloading and installing the 9.1.7 update package, it asks for a serial number, which I was never given after purchasing it through the app store. I contacted customer support yesterday and they confirmed that Logic when purchased through the app store only requires your apple id to sign in and not a serial number. I find this strange, so I was wondering if anyone knew if Logic automatically stores a serial number somewhere in the Library folder or if anyone has any advice about my situation.

HI just purchased the os x mountain lion upgrade....and ever since my recording software like logic pro and even garageband audion recording is given me a problem .....ive been getting loud static noise during audio recording.....is there an update that will fix these issues...need to know

tengo el mismo problema , tengo un saffire 06 de focusrite y en logic pro 9,1,7 en garageband incluso en quicktime al darle al boton de grabar en una pista de audio ya sea con microfono o instrumento me hace un ruido de distorcion mas fuerte que la señal de audio pero si no le doy a grabar este no hace el ruido y suena todo bien microfono o instrumento (solo cuando quiero darle a grabar en la pista)
lo que es midi todo bien suena bien graba bien es solo el audio incluso los vst para guitarra hacen ese ruido o distorcion
-grabe microfono e instrumento en pod x3 en los mismos logic pro ,garage etc etc y ningun problema todo bien
(prueba de que es la compatibilidad de focusrite en mi caso saffire 06 con OSX mountain lion.)
-probe grabando microfono e instrumento en samplitude pro x suite y todo genial graba de maravilla sonido genial
(otra vez prueva que es un problema en focusrite y la actualizacion de sus drivers.)
por ultimo esto me empezo a suceder desde que actualize a osx mountain lion hasta ese momento en lion 10,7 todo sonaba bien.

en el soporte de focusrite me dan las mismas soluciones que ponen en su web lo de gatekeeper etc etc y nada no hay solucion mas que esperar a ver que sucede espero una solucion pronta.

Lion and Logic Express 9.0

I have a brand new MacBook Pro and just bought a store-boxed version of Logic Express, which is ver 9.0. After installing, I got the message that it wouldn't launch because it's incompatible with this version of the OS. I tried downloading the latest update from Apple, but my serial number didn't go through as valid, perhaps since in this situation it's not yet registered. Is there away to proceed short of trying to return the software at Fry's?

Logic 9.17, Mountain Lion, and Alesis MultiMix 16 Firewire compatibility?

Does anybody know if the Alesis MultiMix 16 fire wire audio interface/mixer works with Mountain Lion and Logic 9.17 ? Any info would be helpful.

I have an opportunity to buy used Presonus FP10, but I am not sure is it completely compatible with my MBP - mid 2009, CORE 2 DUO and Mountain Lion and Logic Pro 9???
It is very good interface but a bit outdated, so I am worried! I don't want to spend my money if it won't work on my MAChine!

I gave up from buying it. As I didn't get any valid information about FP, I stopped thinking about it. I've been looking all over the Internet and came up with Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. Somehow, I find it even better choice, so we will see it tomorrow! I hope it is boxed with Firewire Adapter (400-800), too. It is 777 KM which is about 500 $.
Is it worth the money?
If it is compatible with Lion, I assume it should work with ML, too!

I have an upgrade version of logic studio (9.1.1.) which I want to run on an imac with 10.7.4 osx Lion and after a seemingly successful install it's telling me that this version of logic studio isn't supported by my osx...Can someone help me with this?

I also want to add that I've found the updates to logic pro 9.1.2 thru 9.1.7. and when I download them they tell me they are either not needed or don't seem to actually update anything. Someone was saying that Logic Studio isn't a fan of Lion and I should install Snow Leopard, complete Logic updates and then re-install Lion. PLEASE HELP!!!

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

Downloaded Mountain Lion and can't open Logic Express,How do you fix?

Wouldn't let me open 9.1.7 upgrade before because I didn't have Mountain Lion, and now I can't open Logic 9.0.0 to put the upgrade on.

Shows some problems with Logic Pro 9 in ML (Logic express appears fine).
Just a wild guess: Is the installer of your version a PowerPC App? I have Final Cut Express - it is universal, but the installer is PPC and I can't use it to install. As a workaround, I have a working Snow Leopard partition and copied every file from there onto the same location on ML - it works fine. That assumes you know where all the files are located.

The installer for Logic Pro 8 has a bug which keeps it from operating in Lion or Mt. Lion. Use the program Pacifist to install it.

For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder. It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works. Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution: I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm.

After i upgrade to lion and updated logic pro to version 9.1.6 stops responding when loading "Ryu Chords" it stops responding, do anyone have any ideas what problem it can be?

The sample rate is not 128 or so, you probably mean the buffer size...
But the performance drop makes sense: switching between a 64 bit process and 32 bit doesn't come free: it cost performance and creates a jitter, which also either shows as performance lost or instability.
You really have to move away from outdated 32 bit AudioUnits, sorry. Ask the vendors to finally release 64 bit versions, it has been several years since 64 bit is available.
