Lion and PowerPc applications

Question

Be aware if you upgrade to Lion,
any PowerPc applications that you were running in Snow Leopard are no longer supported !
and no easy solution.......

Appleworks can be converted to iWork, at least for WP, SS and Presentation;
Just drag WP file onto the Pages icon in the Dock, or a SS file onto the numbers icon. Likewise presentation files onto the Keynote icon.
Or you can right-click on the file and use the "open with" dialogue to choose the relevant application.
Databases are less easy.
You can export AW DB files as ASCII text files which can then be imported into Numbers. Not ideal, but OK for simple lists.
You can then export them as .csv files which can be imported to most third-party database applications.
For drawing and paint files, Intaglio looks OK, but pricey. You may find others with a bit of searching, but that's the only current app I found that claims to open AW draw and paint files (as distinct from MacPaint and MacDraw).
