Lion back browser

I currently use 3 fingers to swipe back and forth in my internet browserinstead of using the buttons. In lion, it says 3 fingers swiped left or right switches applications. If I upgrade to Lion, will I lose the ability to swipeback in web browser pages or will I be able to turn that off in options?

Don't downgrade OS X without first erasing the drive. You cannot restore a Time Machine backup of Lion directly on top of a later version of OS X such as Mountain Lion or Mavericks.
When you "Restore from a Time Machine Backup.", the drive will be erased for you, but yes, won't hurt to:
Boot into Recovery (hold ⌘R on boot)
Utility->Disk Utility->Erase Macintosh HD, then Repair Macintosh HD
    Quit Disk Utility
Then Select: Restore from a Time Machine Backup.

Wow, you didn't make a backup of your files first?
You shoudl have come here first for help before doing that.

All I can say is make sure you have the same account name on the computer like before, even if you have to create a new user under System Preferences>accounts, then log into your itunes account with that and try to reverse sync from the iPhone like you would normally.
Apple doesn't expect one to go backwards, so they are not all that friendly, you may have to ask around on MacRumors for third party software that can reverse sync from iOS devices.
    Good luck

Also my MacBook is not working well on mavericks.

How to revert OS X back from Mavericks: Apple Support Communities

  • I recently downgraded from Mountain Lion back to Snow Leopard and I forgot to export my bookmarks.

Unfortunately downgrading from Mountain Lion back to Snow Leopard means I need to wipe the hard drive and install everything from scratch. That takes hours, and I've already done the bulk of the work, twice actually since I forgot to back up my photos in Iphoto and had to start over from my Time Machine backup of Mountain Lion.
Anyhow, I am curious as to whether or not there is a way to retrieve my bookmarks from the Time Machine backup and get them onto my downgraded OS, or will I have to start all over again, restore my system to Mountain Lion and go through the hours it takes to get back to Snow Leopard.

You're missing the point. If you didn't make the /username/Library/ folder visible, then it's hidden on the TM backup. Getting to ii is beyond my ken. However,  Pondini's TM FAQs might have info on that madness.

  • How do i get OSX LION back on the computer?

I dropped my laptop and the hard drive is no longer working. I am going to purchase a new hard drive and install it but my question is how do i get OSX LION back on the computer? I will be installing a new bare drive and I heard that Lion is download only. I also want to make sure i get all the apps i had back too. any help or guidance is appreciated. thanks!

this is my opinion. but in this case, you need to install previous OS that has a dvd, which in my case, i installed Snow Leopard first. it cost 30 dollars new.
after you have SL operates and do all software updates, you can download lion and install it over snow leopard.
hope someone here have a better and quicker solution straight to Lion.

Do you have a backup, Time Machine or clone?
If not you'll need to log into AppStore and redownload and install Lion.
    It should be in Purchases.

  • Getting lion back after HD replacement?

how do I get lion back on my mac after a hard drive replacement?

You can download all the files that are originally on the recovery partition of  MBP that came with Lion pre-installed from the Apple website. Sorry I don't have a link but a google search will turn it up. With that download you can make a bootable USB stick that will get you to the screen where you download and install Lion from the Apple website.
Or you can buy Lion on a USB stick from the Apple Store.

  • I rebooted my old MacBook.  How do I get Lion back on there? I purchased it from the Apple Store Application

Just was wondering how to get Lion back on the computer, now that I've done a dull re-boot.  Any help on this would be great!

Rebooting does not normally revert to a different version of the OS.
So what version is currently running?
And did you purchase Lion at the app store? If so, sign in and it should show up under Purchases and you can download and install it again.

  • Get mountain lion back after updates

    HEllo.
I Bought a macbook pro 2 years ago, with mountain lion installed.
I made the update to mavericks and some problems occured. So i update to yosemite, and many problems occured.
i´m not satisfied with these os, so i would like to go back to mountain lion.
the problem is that i did not save my system with time machin, i did not download mountain lion installer, so now i can not get mountain lion back...
the reinitialisation utility gives me only mavericks...even when i go online.
IS there a way to get a mountain lion version for free ? I don't want to pay for it, I had it when i pourchase the macbook...
    thanks for answers.

Boot into Internet Recovery (command - option/alt - R on a restart). It should install the OS that came with the computer. Note, this can take some time to connect to the server and to install.

  • Previous Page ("Back" browser button)

    Hi,
I have this scenario: a Flex app calls (using a menu) another Flex app passing some parameters; the new Flex app shows in the SAME broser window some results (based on those parameters). Now I want to add a Button component in the called app to behave the same as "Back" browser button, I mean to return to the caller application.
How can I accomplish that? I would like to point out that the called app cannot be open in a new window (must be the same one) and the browser "Back" button cannot be used (even if it is functional).
Any help is very appreciated, as usual...

    IMHO,
I would completely turn off history manager,
It introduces DeepLinking code and overrides History Functionality of the browser which is not needed in your example, .
    instead I would
use simple javascript to navigate back and forwards which can be called from flex app via EI(ExternalInterfaces)
    JS Example:
    http://www.pageresource.com/jscript/jhist.htm
    ExternalIntercaes Example:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/external/ExternalInterface .html#includeExamplesSummary

If you have got a backup, press Command and R keys in boot and restore an old backup. You can install Snow Leopard and upgrade to Lion if you haven't got the backup

  • Back browsing more than a page at a time.

Using firefox 5.0.1 and i don't seem to have the option to back browse more than the last page, there used to be a downwards arrow so i could jump back to other pages viewed but that seems to have disappeared....any idea how to get it back? Thanks

    Hi vigil5,
Try holding down the left click button and dragging the mouse down from one of the Forward/Back buttons. This will open the list of recent items.
    Hopefully this helps!

I'm confused.  Are you saying that your mac came with an older version of OS X, but you want to be able to use OS X Lion, which you downloaded from the App store?  If this is not the case, what do you mean by "I downloaded os x but my laptop started off with os x lion and i want os x lion back"?  Specifically, what do you mean by "I downloaded OS X" if your mac came with Lion?
