Lion Compatible Quicken Mac 2007

Has anyone had experience using Lion Compatible Quicken Mac 2007 with Mountain Lion?  Was the transition from Quicken Mac 2007 on Snow Leopard seamless?

Try moving these two file to the Desktop and then launch Quicken and try entereing data again. The are located in the Home/Library/Preferences folder.
com.intuit.quicken.plist
com.intuit.quicken.plist.lockfile
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

I am running mac os 10.7.5
I have Qiucken 2007 for mac (unusable for quite some time).
Can I download Quicken Mac 2007 OS X Lion?  It is a compatible re-engineered version of Quicken Mac 2007 that will work on OS X 10.7 (Lion).  See it here:

I do not have Quicken Essentials.  Do I need it?

Quicken Essentials is generally loathed by most members of this forum who have experience with it, in favor of Quicken 2007 for Mac Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion, Mavericks)

  • ICal Slowdown if Quicken Mac 2007 is open

    Hi all,
I just noticed the reason why my iCal was becoming frustratingly slow. I had my Quicken 2007 Mac Program open, and iCal seems to be doing extra work as a result.
I am sure that I instructed Quicken to not use iCal for anything.
Since closing Quicken Mac 2007 when I use iCal, I am getting the spinning beach ball in iCal considerable less.
Anyone familiar with this phenomenon and will to explain what is actually happening, and possibly how to prevent it from occurring.
Thanks in advance, and so long for now, TOM

Quicken Essentials is the replacement and they finally have it working fairly reliably. Upgrading from 2007 is highly recommended at this point, MARCH 2011. Still a lot of features are missing but at least QE doesn’t crash like 2007 did.
    So long for now, TOM

  • Lion compatible Quicken for Mac

    Hello,
I have nearly 13 years of Quicken for Mac financial data running on my Snow Leopard MacBookPro that I want to preserve. I have not yet upgraded to Lion, but plan to do so very soon. I have an old iMac which is stuck running Tiger which I can use as a Quicken 2007 machine if need be. My question is: Do I need to upgrate my laptop to Lion before installing and using the new Quicken for Mac? Does it matter?
    Thanks,
    jerseypolly

I'm new to Macs and want to transfer my PC Quicken data to my new Mac running Lion.  Does this $15 verion of Quicken run as it claims on Lion - I assume that it is only $15 to get it out there?
I downloaded Essentials a month ago and dumped it.  It does not have manual data entry near as easy as the PC version.  How does this Mac verion work?  Anything like the data entry for the PC?
Any info about data conversion?  I do have it converted from PC to Essentials, which was a hastle to get the conversion file.
    Thanks.

  • Is osx mountain lion compatible with mac pro (4,1) w/ raid card?

I noticed Apple isn't selling the Mac Pro's with raid cards anymore, so it makes me wonder of Mountain Lion is compatible with my Mac Pro which uses the apple mac pro raid card.  Anyone know??

Thanks Kappy.  I'm more interested in the RAID card compatibility.  Anyone else know?

  • Is lion compatible with Mac Office?

I want to upgrade to Lion but want to make sure my Office (Microsoft Office 2011 for the Mac) apps will run. Anyone tried this yet?

Works fine. So does Office 2008. But not 2004. I run 2011 and not a hiccup with Lion. Just make sure you back everything up before installing Lion.
    Cheers

  • Upgrade to Mountain Lion kills Quicken access??

I just upgraded my OS from 10.5.8 to Mountain Lion, and now can't use my Quicken 2007 (Apple support didn't tell me that would happen). How can I get to my Quicken files to pay my bills? If I had known I would lose my Quicken, especially when I have bills to pay and statements to balance, I wouldn't have upgraded all the way to Mountain Lion. Help!!

This wouldn't be Apples responsibilty. Ideally, you should have checked to make sure Quicken 2007 was comaptible with 10.8 before upgrading.
Check with the developer of Quicken:
This is what I found, Only seems to be up to 10.7..
    http://quicken.intuit.com/support/help/lion-compatible-quicken-mac-2007/GEN83769 .html
then this indicates it may be fine
    http://quicken.intuit.com/support/help/pre-sales-questions/is-quicken-compatible -with-os-x-10-8-mountain-lion--/GEN84778.html
Check with Quicken for updates for the software, Hope this helps.

  • Quicken for Mac 2007 problem with 10.6.2

So I went to open Quicken for the first time since installing the 10.6.2 update and I thought I'd share my experience.
After repeatedly crashing upon launch, I contacted Quicken support.
After a 3-hour chat (my favorite part was when the rep asked me what a G4 was)
I was given the R3 update, which still won't open my main file.
As it turns out, I have a drive that I can boot into 10.4.11, where everything seems to be working now. I was able to open a smaller (664 kb), simpler more recent file, but my main file (6.4 mb) with all my important stuff can be opened only under 10.4.11.
I learned along the way that Quicken never updated the code for Intel processors, and that Quicken is proud to announce Quicken for Mac 2010. Here's a quote: "Our Quicken Mac 2007 and earlier users should note that this is a brand new product, so some of the features you've grown used to may not be included"
Quicken 2010 for Mac - Now with fewer features!
Anyway, I hope this helps someone out there....

I am a new convert to IBANK (www.iggsoftware.com). I have been running Quicken 2008 in Windows on my Mac. I have been waiting for Quickens new program as Quicken 2007 for the MAC is only half the program that it's Windows counterpart is. Intuit has chosen to string us along for over a year waiting for their new Quicken Financial Life program only to dumb it down (http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/mac-personal-financial-softw are.jsp) to Quicken Essentials for the MAC.
It is time to send them a message that they are going to lose money for their lack of comitment to us MAC users.

The former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of California (now deceased) once told me there are no dumb questions; only dumb answers!
Hopefully you have not updated to Mountain Lion, YET!
Quicken 2007 (either version) will ONLY accept data from Quicken 2006 or 2007.  For you, as a Quicken 2005 user, you must obtain a copy of the PowerPC version of Quicken 2006 or Quicken 2007 and that program will convert your Quicken 2005 data file to one that will open in Quicken 2007 for Lion.
Intuit, which formerly used to provide copies of Quicken 2006 or 2007 (PPC) for such purposes has gone MIA (consistent with OldMacFan's observation that Intuit does not want you to find the $15 upgrade page either! To find that link - I always have to Google "CNET Quicken 2007 for Lion" and in the first listed result, Topher Kessler's review of the program for CNET has the link!)
Consequently, go to this blog and post a comment for Ferd to send you a copy of Quicken 2006 or Quicken 2007 (PPC) and when you receive it, you must run it on a Mac that supports Rosetta and PPC software:
    http://thebestparts.net/2011/07/26/how-to-convert-an-older-quicken-data-file-to- use-on-mac-os-10-7-lion/
Then when you upgrade to Mountain Lion, your data file will open normally with Quicken 2007 for Lion/Mountain Lion.
If you have already upgraded to Mountain Lion and hence do not have access to Rosetta, let me know and I will give you further instructions.

Or wait for the new version of Quicken for Mac which is scheduled to be released 1st quarter 2014 according to a response to a post I read on the Intuit site.
    Eric:
You are more trusting of "waiting" for Intuit to live up to their promises than I am!
    From Baltwo's quoted article:
This happened when Lion released and Apple decided to remove Rosetta which was a software tool to allow old software to run on the new Intel based Macs.  It took a bunch of developers 8 months to get 2007 working again on Lion even though they didn’t add any new features.
Intuit had six years notice that Rosetta was a temporary solution to its PPC versions of Quicken, yet waited until Apple finally removed Rosetta from Lion before instituting its programming for an Intel version!?!
This is very consistent with their history of how they treat their Mac customers relative to their Windows customers...
Morale of the story...  don't wait!  For $15, start using Quicken now.

  • Which Xcode version is compatible for Mac OS X v10.7 Lion ?

    Hi,
I buy a latest Mac mini with OS version of MacOS X v10.7 Lion.  On that, I install xcode of the version 4.2. But after that I am facing lot of problems while working,
The problems, I am facing are:
                                                                    The xcode is very slow,
                                                                    Frequent crashes while using xcode,
Unable to create the bundle (or) unable to run the simulator after writing the code.

the older version of Photo Shop is no longer supported.
Don't know which version you mean, but if you mean PSE, then versions 6 and up will work.
You can't migrate any version of PSE, though, from one disk to another. It must be installed freshly on each machine, since adobe doesn't care about the apple developer guidelines and PSE is not a tidy mac app package--the PSE installer strews stuff all over your hard drive, and you can never move it and get all the necessary bits.
What I was talking about is if you had a computer with 10.6 or 10.7 and PSE installed on it and then upgraded to mountain lion. In that case it's essential to go into the user library and delete any existing preference files before running it after installing 10.8.
The instructions to install PSE in mountain lion are to put the disc the drive or to double click the downloaded .dmg file to mount it, and then to run the installer.
