Lion Download error
've downloaded the App from the app store. I leave my computer to only deal with the download. However, when i go to install Lion from the downloaded app, it loads for about 2 minutes then i get an error--"The software could not be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading." Any ideas what it might be?
and if it helps, i have a Macbook, purchased last april, 4GB memory, Intel core 2 duo processor at 2.26 GHz.
Hi ...
Ok... installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo reinstalls the App Store for you. Restart your Mac after the update is installed. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.x Snow Leopard.
You can re download on all your authorized Macs for free.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Mac App Store: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Sometimes dowloads from the App Store are interrupted due to anti virus software, or your Firewall in System Preferences > Security. And if you have an app called Little Snitch installed, that can prevent apps from downloading including Lion.

You should always be doing regular backups. Disks can fail at any time; so can other components; directories can get corrupted beyond repair, users can make mistakes, etc.

Installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo) reinstalls the App Store for you which may help.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed. It's ok to do this even though your Mac is already running v10.7.4.
Then try downloading Mountain Lion.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

Mountain lion download - error has occurred
purchased Mountain Lion updates for a whole computer lab and having trouble on the last 4 computers. an error has occurred. no option to redownload.
Have you tried Check for Unfinished Downloads from the App Store > Store menu?
-
After a 10 hour download with a slow (0.8) broadband connection I get an error message:
"The application could not be downloaded. The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again."
The App store says I've purchased it. Says it is paused 0 bytes of 0 bytes. "Resume" is offered but has no effect.
Not keen on another 10 hour download. Can't anyway, up to my limit and loathe to invest more cash. Until now Apple has always worked for me but this is disappointing.
Help please! No reply but solved itself following day. Had switched iMac off overnight and on rebooting just clicked on resume in App Store, a few more minutes download and then it installed smoothly.
Now dealing with the expected new os problems. -
Mountain Lion Downloading error 53 MB
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to download Mountain Lion but whenever the dowload reachs 53.25 MB it stops and re-download again from the begining.
any advice ?Cancel the download (hold option, I think), quit the app store, delete all traces of Install OS X or Install Mountain Lion in the /Applications folder. May be in a .app or .appdownload file. Whatever. Connect directly to a Ethernet connection. Try again.

Solution: Mountain Lion download errors.
After Three frustrating days. I received Two new content-code PDF files from Apple today. Unfortunately, No password was sent. So I was just about to give all hope up on ever getting a free Mountain Lion update, when I recalled the code that was sent to me Yesterday. Although it gave me a Purchase-method error. A miracle just happened. And THE CODE WORKED!! So I'm sorry if this is not much help. But give all the codes Apple has sent you so-far. A RE-TRY!! I wish you all Best of Luck! I hope this helps. Take-care.
Exactly. Some of us don't understand the situation in India. This is a country with sickest internet speeds. The internet segment is dominated by fraudulant companies. There is no consistency that is why most of the data transfer here is through Pen drives and torrent websites. We have never seen a good downlooad speed here. And on the top of inconsistency lies the Mac book Air without a built in RJ45 port.
If i have to do it in an internet cafe it will cost me more time and money than to purchase a Mac book air itself. Apple should start giving us software loaded flash drives at least at premium. -
OS lion and kindle app download error, why?
I've downloaded os lion for my mac but it always ends up in an error message upon installation. Meanwhile, my kindle app was ok these past few days but then it suddenly crashed and i couldn't re-open it anymore. I tried to uninstall the application and download it, but now I keep getting the same error message as my os lion download.. help pls
You're certrain your Mac qualifies for Mountain Lion? > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
Make sure there's enough available space on the install disk to install Mountain Lion (4.35GB file).
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info then click Storage from the menu.
Make sure there's never less than 15% available spacce. -
While downloading OSX Lion I had an internet connection breakdown at home. Internet now works again but in the purchase tab of the app store my Lion download says 'an error has occured' and wont restart download.
If I try starting a download from start it says ' you have already purchased it, do you want to purchase again for free' - YES and then I'm back at the 'an error has ccured' message
What shoul I do ??I have installed Lion on my Macbook Pro with no problems (yesterday) and am currently installing on my Macbook Air (as I write this), yet the install on my Macmini keeps getting the 500 Internal Server Error message.
This is only my guess but I think the App Store server is overloaded at the moment and will clear you (and me) for download as it's able. The error message has nothing to do with your Macs.
Patience will prevail I suspect. -
I cannt download lion an error happend during installation..file corrupt
i cannt download lion an error happend during installation..file corrupt
Make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk to install updates.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your desktop then click Get Info.
Look for Capacity and Available in the Get Info panel.
Make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.
And make sure you are logged into the admin account when running Software Update.
If there's enough free storage space and you are logged in as the admin, could be corrupted preferences.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste: /Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash. Empty the Trash.
Then click your Apple menu > Software Update -

Not much detail here. What's the error? If a connection one, use a wired connection to the Internet, If it says stopped or paused, retry. If something else, try http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact.html?form=account

Mountain Lion download problems with Lion 10.7.5 (no VirusBarrier issue)
I have a mid-2009 Macbook Pro. From the factory it came with Snow Leopard but has since been upgraded to Lion OS X 10.7.5. I do not have VirusBarrier, I am writing from a recently clean-installed Lion.
I have now been troubleshooting my Mac for several days. When I wrote first, I had an issue with Safari having been damaged and so I wasn't able to reinstall Lion - but after a certain extremely helpful community member I finally succeeded in installing Lion.
But the issues with the App Store still persist. All my Mountain Lion downloads fail, getting the error message "can't verify, might be corrupted" what many here have also been getting. However, most solutions were related to VirusBarrier (which I don't have), or /var/folders errors (Console does not show any var-related errors).
So if it's not a var-related issue, or related to firewalls or virus softwares (I have disabled the Firewall and I have no virus software installed), what could it be?
When the download and install of ML failed last time, Console showed the following messages:
11/30/12 11:54:44.617 AM com.apple.SecurityServer: Failed to authorize right 'system.install.app-store-software' by client '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/PackageKit.framework/Versions/A/Resources/in stalld' [235] for authorization created by '/System/Library/CoreServices/Software Update.app' [567]

), NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion=Delete this copy of the application, and go to the Purchases page of the Mac App Store to download a new copy., NSRecoveryAttempter=<IARecoveryAttempter: 0x7f93aab1e1d0>, NSLocalizedDescription=This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading.}
...and a bit later, upon re-starting the download:
11/30/12 12:29:40.515 PM com.apple.SecurityServer: Failed to authorize right 'system.install.apple-software' by client '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/PackageKit.framework/Versions/A/Resources/in stalld' [817] for authorization created by '/Applications/App Store.app' [781]

Problem elimination:
* I don't think this is a router-related issue: I have downloaded and installed other softwares outside App Store successfully
* As said, I don't think this has anything to do with Firewall or Virus settings
* Nor has this anything to do with /var/folders as far as I can tell
What I've tried so far:
* Repaired disk permissions several times
* Rebooted
* Restarted App Store
* Following one advise found on the net, I deleted preflight.pfpkg just in case
* All the time I have made sure my OS has the most recent Software Updates installed (most of them downloaded successfully, while with Safari and OS 10.7.5. I had to try several times before they were downloaded succesfully)
I just reinstalled my OS X Lion, only to use it to jump on to Mountain Lion - so I am pending my migration until ML is installed. I would like to fix this soon, since I'd like to get the migration done and my real work started. I would really appreciate your help.
I'm not very adept at using Console or Terminal to troubleshoot, so if someone could guide me through the problem identification, that would be great. Unless someone already knows exactly what's going wrong and can show me a working solution - that'd save my day!
Thanks! In cases like this, if you have an Apple store near by, they will most likely install the OS free of charge for you, if you can't bring your Apple ID along to prove you've paid for it.
Would that work out for you? -
Creative Cloud - Download error - stubborn error
This seems to be inconsistency quality assurance going on with Creative Cloud using Adobe Application Manager, I always get this stubborn - darn stubborn error message "Download error. Please contact customer support." In this case, I have no idea what the darn problem since it never gave me the reason as to what kind of error message that caused this stubborn download error.
I have no problem updating Creative Cloud apps on Mac Pro, but I am having this stubborn problem on my other computer - more specifically, MacBook Pro 17" unibody operating on Mac OS 10.8.2 (the latest version) Mountain Lion.
I have to say that I was very disappointed, because I had switched to Creative Cloud subscription from traditional Master Collection CS6.
This quality of service with Adobe Creative Cloud subscription proved worthless and unreliable and if this continue being this way, why should I continue to use Creative Cloud where it failed to download or not able to download at all? Why should I continue to pay subscription fees - even if I pay for annual contract.
I felt that I was ripped off by Adobe with faulty unreliable subscription service through Creative Cloud.
Please, please and please provide me a remedy solution. I have tons of project that I am working on.
Deeply disappointed.
Long time Adobe consumer for years!!!
BEST of the BEST crap experience with Creative Cloud - that is based on my experience!
BrianI have an iMac at home which is working fine with CC, but on my Macbook Pro 15 inch same error keeps on coming up. I can log into Adobe online, on the CC, but when checking whether I have the apps available online, I first have to log onto the Creative Cloud for teams section before it 'sees' me as a paying customer.
Screen 1:
I then decide to open up the browser and go to Adobe.com and log into my account:
I have no products found and I have to click on the ad (which shouldn't show if I've already bought the software?)
And I get the options of downloading all the apps I need.
I have already downloaded the apps, but can't seem to log into the CC app in the toolbar at the top of my screen. I can log into Behance too, but it looks like I'm getting an old version of everything. The Typekit facility as well as the files section doesn't seem to work yet, even though it looks like everyone else is using it.
Adobe, please sort this out!
