Lion erase and reinstall by the Apple Store

Ok, I'll admit I'm a recent PC crossover so that qualifies me as a Newbie. Today I took my MacBook to the apple store for an erase and reinstall due to about 20gb of space was missing on my HD. My latest backup was done the day before I went back to Apple to reinstall Lion. After I restored my data from the backup, the address book app and the app store app are both missing. My address book data is on iCloud so I'm not that concerned about the data but I would like to get the app back on my MacBook. Any help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

I'm not aware of any easy way to reinstall an OS X application in Lion short of reinstalling Lion. You can do that without erasing the drive again, but there is the time it takes to reinstall.
I don't suppose you have a copy of the Lion installer saved on your computer or purchased the Apple USB Lion flash drive installer?
Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

Well, it appears that your backup is corrupt, thus causing your issue. So, you'll have to restore as a new device, & not from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone:

If there is an upgrade to any of macs products that you own they will notify you when there is an update. To check if you have any updates go to the app store and click on "Updates", or open the program you want to check and click the "check for update" option in the dropdown menu. Hope this helps.

The music files, were they bought from your iTunes account or did someone gift them to you after buying from the iTunes account? If they are yours you can download them again if you clear or de-authorise the ipod, it has to be done by whoever gave you the ipod to do this (the registered owner). If they were bought for you on another itunes account I don't think Apple let you use them as they are copyrighted and they don't belong to you, they belong to the person who bought them. If the music files where ripped from music cd's then click and drag them to a new folder on your desktop and have the person who gave you the ipod to de-authorise and unregister it. Then you re register it and put your files back from your desktop folder in your iTunes folder and synch. Hopefully that would work. Any files which you did not buy, I would not know how get around this, best bet is to take it to you nearest Apple Store and explain that they were gifted to you and ask how you can use them. The best way to gift music files is to buy the gift tokens and give these. Hope above helps.

Phone cycles on and off. I have restored and so has the apple store.

I had a screen sensitivity issue with my original 4s. It would react to my finger getting within about 1/4 inch of the screen, and would auto dial without anyone touching the screen. Fortunately, It happened to actually do this in front of one of the 'geniuses' on my third trip to the apple store so they replaced the phone about 5 months ago. I was given a 90 day warranty on the new phone. It worked fine until last week.
It started cycling on and off. Then it wiped the phone and all of my apps. I restored the phone but there would be a noticeable hesitation between when I touched the screen and when the touch registered. This went on for two days.During those two days the power indicator did not ever show any indication there had been any battery drain, but always showed 100% charged, days, then went dead without ever showing it was discharging. I took it to the Apple store. They tried to do the same restore I had. The phone came back on, but then cuts on and off to the Apple logo. The battery will take a charge, but as it sits on the charger it cuts on and off. The store solution was for me to purchase a new phone since they either had no idea what the problem was, or wouldn't tell me. The phone has not had rough treatment or been exposed to water or excessive moisture. Any suggestions?

If that doesn't work, I'm afraid the device needs another hardware repair.
Please note that using that article will erase everything so make sure you've got a backup.
But restore it AS NEW if it's at all possible.

Complete repair and reinstalling OS at apple store

I have an iphone that used to be my friends and not under warranty anymore. It's always been slow so i was wondering if i can take it into the store and ask for a complete repair and reinstalling of the OS, will they do that for free?

i have to reinstall my i-mac, snow lepard OS. the problem i have is that the mac dont takes the install cd, no matter what i try. the only thing what happens is that i can see the apple and i can hear that its working, but the cd becomes throw out after some seconds. im not able to start it at all, no matter what i do. after i let run the hardware-test i get the message that nothing is wrong, but still i can not install or start the mac. i have no idea what i should do or how i should do it. it was now 2 times in a service, the only thing i was told that everything is ok and i only have to reinstall it....i try my best, but it still will not do anything!! also the company info-care norge which has the mac-service tells me only to install all new and that it has nothing to do with my garanty. maybe now there is somebody which understand the problem and is able to help me.

I left the apple store fast due to the fact i was in a bad car accudent and i am in a wheelchair and cant stay seated like that long due to a broken leg. It randomly will pop up message saying something like it needs wifi but I have wifi at my house. Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.
To save the photographs you may have to use third party software. Google is your friend.

Fixing that does not require reinstalling the iPhoto Application - it requires correct library issues
What exactly happens? What version of iPhoto do you have installed (in teh finder select it in the Applications folder and get info)?
If it iPhoto '11 version 9.5.1 then Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

Do I need to recreate my app and submit to the Apple store for v30 folio to work?

I have created an folio using dps v30. I have downloaded the content viewer to my ipad and tested everything works as it should. I then published my new folio. The cover appears in the app store but when I try to download it says I need to update my app. I'm not sure what app it is refering to because I have not created a new version.
When I go to the DPS App Builder and click 'edit' it tells me the App Version is already v30
Basicially I haven't got a clue what is going on. I really wouldn't have updated to v30 if I knew it was going to cause me this much grief!

If you created a folio using the v30 viewer version (folio format) but have, for example, a v28 app in the store, then you have two choices: (1) update your app to v30, or (2) re-create the folio as v26 and update it.
By the way, there is no reason to choose v30 when you create a folio. Just choose v26. While the viewer has included new features with each release, the folio format hasn't changed since v26.

Of course it's a crime.
You probably won't be able to use it anyway as it would have a activation lock on it.
Do the right thing and hand it into the police. If you lost your wallet would you want someone to hand it into the police?
