Hello,
I just bought an Imac a week ago and I was told I could download Lion for free...I have been downloading it for almost two days straight and it still isn't done...the bar has been advancing slowly, but now its nearly done and stuck! Should I restart and risk two more days of downloading?

Can someone help me also. I have been downloading lion for two days not and it will not stop. I get the blue bar on the bottom and it says installing. I turn the computer on and off and it comes back and still says installing. Also I cannot get to any icons or anything else. I did control R on start up and then it says error during instal. It sounds like it is installed? Try clicking on the OSX!
The Recovery HD will download a copy of the installer and install it automatically. It will take a long time for the downloading. You should then have 10.7.2.
By the way it also includes a Disk Utility to check out and repair the disk first...
I would recommend doing this because as things are, you are likely to lose your data, trying to get back to SL. Anyway millions of people are using Lion and enjoying it, so don't be put off.
If you really want to go back to 10.6.0 then you'll need to boot from an external and run Disk Utility to remove the partioning, then do an erase / install. You will need to get your data off the computer first, including Bootcamp if that's what you mean by "Windows". Is it readable just now?

Lion has been downloading for over 3 hours. When will it end?

I have been downloading Lion since 3 hours ago. Does it ever end? How can I check for progress. Don't like not being able to see the progress. :-(

Since you're still downloading, you have the opportunity BEFORE you run the installer to capture and save the installer file. So, don't start the install until after you grab the InstallESD.dmg file and burn it to DVD. This way you always have the ability to install without re-downloading.
Here are the steps to get the InstallESD.dmg file.
Let the download finish.
Open Finder, navigate to Applications and you should see the OS X Lion Installation App.
Right click on the OS X Lion Installation App and select 'Show Package Contents'.
Copy the InstallESD.DMG to your desktop.
Launch Disk Utility and click the Burn button
Select the InstallESD.dmg file from your desktop as the image to burn. Insert a blank DVD and wait for the DVD to burn.
After you burn the DVD, you can continue with installing Lion.

My 4g has been gone for almost two months

Has anyone been having problems getting 4g. The first month I had my phone I always had 4g, phone was working lightning fast. Then all of a sudden all I can get is 3g. 4g has not been seen on my phone for about 2 months now. I know the 3g is still good but the whole reason I upgraded to this instead of an Iphone is for the 4g. I could have paid 100 less and got an iphone. This really blows, I have gone into my setting and mate sure I am on the LTE/CDMA setting. I dont know what else to do. Any suggestions?

Call Customer Service 1-800-922-0204 option 3 and Ask a Tech if there Working on the Towers in you Area Tell them were Location is you had Good 4G and Now it's down to 3G Have them Fully look through you Customer Profile and Account there may be something that causing the not to read the Signal. So that's what i would do have it Checked it Don't Cost ya nothing. I will Recommend this If you have another Phone you can Use that be Great.. Depends on your internet connection speed - I've heard of fast and slower. It is a huge file: about 5 GB; with my connection it takes at least 2.5 hours. What is your connection speed?
Edit: based on your second post, you are downloading Mountain Lion update (shown at the bottom) and are trying to download Mavericks at the same time? Can't download two OS versions at the same time. So, wait until you have the Mountain Lion updated and installed and then try Mavericks again.

Try shutting off by holding down the home and power button at the same time. Once turned back on you can try downloading again. Be sure you have at least 50% of battery life before starting.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error while updating your iPhone. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

1500Kbs is 1.5Mbs. That is Kilo bits per second. There are 8 bits to a byte so if you divide 1500 (or 1,500,000) by 8 you get 187500 bytes a second. Divide 3.5GBs (3,500,000,000), that capitol B is for Bytes, by that 187500 you get 18666.666 seconds. Which needs to be divided by 60 to get the minutes and then again by 60 to get the hours.
5.1851xxx hours.
I use to have a 3Mbs DSL connection and it took me over 3 hours to download Lion. Now that I have a 19Mbs Cable connection it take about an hour to download and install.
So wait it will happen eventually. If you cancel and start again your are still going to wait 5+ hours.
