Lion install stopped after 12 hours and 3.15 GB

I bought and set Lion to download from the App Store at around 11am on an 8Mbps connection. It was going slow/fast alternately, presumably because of the heavu traffic pressure on the Apple servers. I just got an error message saying that an error occurred and the OS couldn't be downloaded. This after 12 hours and with .6 GB of completion. I don't know whether to restart it for fear of double billing or not. Anybody else who's had this issue?

So I just got an error message that Lion could not be installed and a window appeared to click "continue" to retry the installation. But when I go to the App Store, it shows Lion as "installed".

Quit all other programs and open Disk Utility
Select your "MacintoshHD" drive on the left and indented and click Erase > Erase Free Space > Zero and let it complete.
Also run First Aid > Repair Disk and permisisons.
If Repair disk gives a error, you have a bigger problem, if repair permisisons fixes and completes, even if it fixes the same thing twice if you click it again, it's ok. Apple just changed things.
You should be able to download the file sucessfully this time, if not, take it to another location with better/faster internet.

If Lion isn't showing in the About this Mac window, then you need to install it. All the Mac Apple Store does is put the installer into /Applications. You need to run it, but before you do, make a copy and put it somewhere else, since the stupid installer deletes itself during the installation process, forcing another obnoxious and lengthy download if you ever need to reinstall it.

Are you restoring the iPod from a previous back or to factory settings? If you haven't restored to factory settings yet, I would do that next. And if the problem still continues, it's most likely hardware related, in which case you'll want to schedule an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar to have them take a look at it.

Mac Mini - Lion Install stops at 2/3 way

I created a Lion Boot DVD from the download from the Mac App Store.
Recently purchased a refurbished Mac Mini 2.4 2010 model, and wanted to do a clean install. It boots fine, but the install stops at the point in the picture, then the time left on teh installation keeps increasing. It was like that for over an hour so I canceled it and tried again but am getting the same result.

Thank you for your opinion regarding Crashplan, however I do not plan to suggest we purchase a subscription based plan for backing up. I am looking for an in-house solution. I also understand the importance of offsite storage and that should be certainly be considered.
As far as the Windows environment, we currently have a File server that we run with the required licenses etc. its fully running and authenticates 35 of our PC's.
Regarding the limitations, I am mostly concerned that we will run this little Mini Mac into the ground LOL. We have quite a few devices and I expect we would run Push Notifications from it to our devices at our company as well. This can cause quite the disturbance as far as CPU and RAM go and I want to make sure its a capable server.
Do you know if this Mini Mac Server configuration can handle all of these devices?

Solaris 10 x86 CD install - stops after cd1

Experienced linux user.
Recent new second hard drive means I can install Solaris.
Downloaded and burnt CDs (5)
CD1 boots. Used text based installer. Installed to 2nd partition on primary IDE slave drive. Grub to MBR on this drive then plan to either boot changing BIOS boot or chain load from Lilo on master hd MBR.
CD1 install set-up fine(I think I answered right)starts to install software - after approx 15-20%. Stops. Tells me CD1 installation complete and reboots.
However -reboots succesfully to GRUB but no menu or unable to boot kernel using GRUB root and kernel commends.
CD2 never requested.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have now sorted myself by using DVD download and installing on first patition of second hd. Still need to change boot disk in bios to boot so trying to work round this.
Solaris seems very good.
Will now try to get speedtouch 330 usb modem working so I ca connect to net.

i have a problem since 2 weeks.. i write a as3 program. Program is getting data from xml files (4 files) and display to the screen between 30 seconds spaces. But program is running no error 36 hours. After 36 hours flash say this error code and stops.

DPM 2010 - Consistency checks stops after 23 hours

When running a consistency check on a very large amount of files, the checks repeatedly stops after 23-24 hours.

OK - I'm not aware of any known DPMRA crash issues for DPM 2010 UR7 - so this will need to be investigated by getting the crash stack and possibly a process dump. Please open a support ticket for investigation.
In the meantime - run a chkdsk /f against the DPM replica volume to be sure we're not crashing due to a file system problem.

Mac OS 10.4 Install Stops After First Disc

I'm trying to do a fresh install of mac os 10.4 on my mac mini g4. I restarted the computer with Disc 1 and booted up while holding C. I went under options and chose to do a fresh install. After it checked disc 1 the install began. After it finished with disc 1, it restarted and then it gave me the message, "Please insert the 'Mac OS X Install Disc 2' disc to continue installation. (You have chosen to install software that requires this disc)."
This is where the problem is, I insert Disc 2 and after about 10 seconds, it spits it back out. Nothing on the screen changes.
I've tried restarting it, inserting disc 1 again, restarting the installation process, and restarting while holding C with disc 2 in. None have gotten me past that message.
The discs I am using are the ones that came with the Mac Mini (two gray discs).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, That second Disk thing happens frequently, the best way around it is to do a Custom install, and eliminate enough Printer Drivers, Languages, Fonts, and Applications you don't need... then it may skip #2 altogether.
