Got that removed, but I'm still having a problem. If I'm reading the new kernel panic log, it seems like the bluetooth is causing the error. Sure enough when I turned on my apple magic pad that's when I crashed too. bluetooth was the first thing listed on the report

My three most recent Lion Kernel Panics
In case anybody is having the same problem - or, even better, has solved the same problem, here are my most recent Lion Kernel panics ( just the top of the panic in each case). They're all different - it's amazing how many panics lion throws - it reminds me of the first unix system I used back in the early '80s:

Try reinstalling from a fresh App store download. Do not use the recovery partition or a saved installer.app unless you have already had one proven successful install. Start afresh.
Took me five goes...my guess is with a 4GB download, at least some of the problems people are reporting with Lion is just down to corruption in the transfer. -
Kernel panics mac mini mountain lion
Been having Kernel Panics on 2012 Mac Mini since September. Running Mountain Lion. I've done hardware test, Apple Store did one as well. Here's a list of things I thought were causing them:
Bad Monitor
Bad Monitor Cable
Use of USB devices, including 3rd party keyboards and mice (non-apple), hard drives and external dvd drives/writers
Time Machine
Connection to a Windows File Server
Logmein
DVD Fab
I've changed and/or deleted all of the above and am still getting them. Lately, they seem to be associated with internet surfing. Happens with Safari, Chrome and Firefox, seemingly random. But not isolated to just internet surfing. Have had them when importing pictures using Iphoto, using Itunes, or even when the computer was unattended and not being used at all.
I've also zapped PRAM, repaired disk permissions and more.
Here is my latest log:

Have you tried another Ethernet cable?

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list. -
After updating Mountain Lion (10.8.5) with Security update 2015-001, my 2008 15" MacBook Pro suffered kernel panic whenever I plugged in a mini-display port to HDMI cable. The issue resolved by reverting to the immediate previous backup, which had Security Update 2014-005 as its most recent update.. I verified that update 2015-001 was the problem by installing in on an archived clean system (10.8.5) which also had Security Update 2014-005 as its most recent update.
Here is a capture of the kernel panic:

Try un-installing the 3rd party software according to the developer's un-install instructions. -
Lion kernel panic when file sharing
I had several kernel panics today while encoding mpeg, both on OSX 10.7.2 and 10.6.8 (I have both installed in the same machine, but on separate drives in bays 1 and 2).
It only seems to happen when I'm file sharing from our OSX Lion Server 10.7.2. All sharing is done at 1000Mbps over Cat6 Ethernet and has a quality switch to mange it. Ethernet ports on both the server and the encoding station are link aggregated.
The encoding software I'm using is Telestream Episode Pro 6.2.1 and I have verified the node and file paths, everything looks normal. But it crashes when this program's encoding processes are running, so I'm listing it as a culprit.
This workflow has performed perfectly before, so I'm not sure why it's so unstable now.
This is the report I got after rebooting:

Lion Kernel Panics - will an erase and install help?
Since upgrading to Lion and iCloud I have been experiencing kernel panics on my Macmini. I'm currently troubleshooting and believe I have concluded that the my USB or Firewire attached drives (a WD My Book 2TB and a Drobo 2G respectively) are not the cause (because the kernal panics still happen when these are disconnected and not powered on). I am discounting that RAM is issue for now, because this hasn't changed since I bought the Mini in 2010.
So my investigations are focusing on software - I've already uninstalled several apps which I have read may cause issues (Logmein and WD RAID manager). I have also tried using Lion Cache Cleaner (LCC) but this in itself seems to be causing kernel panics, particulalry when using Clam AV to virus check the home and download directories. I've experienced 2 kernal panics using LCC (always at the Clam AV step) so I've given up on that.
I've tried looking at the panic logs but I can't interpret them, so I'm thinking my last option is to completely wipe my Mini hard drive and do a fresh install of Lion and rebuild my system from the ground up. Given the lack of success with my troubleshooting, and the fact that I installed Lion on top of Snow Leopard in the first instance, leads me to believe this is the safest option.
Is this the best approach or is there anything else I should try first? I have a clone and my data is backed up.So out of the three issues I did the following:
com.DataRobotics.driver.iSCSIInitiator - I followed a procedure provided by Drobo support to completely erase and then reinstall the latest Lion Drobo Dashboard
com.Logitech.Control Centre.HID Driver - I ugraded to the latest Lion version
com.iospirit.driver.rbiokithelper - I couldn't actually find this in the location expected (~/Library/Preferences/) or anywhere else in my library for that matter. I think it was an app I must have deleted some time ago (Remote Buddy). So I downloaded the latest version of Remote Buddy for Lion, thinking that I could install and then unistall that to remove the driver. However, I did find the following kext which I removed (/System/Library/Extensions/RBIOKitHelper.kext)
I decided this was enough so I retested everything by running a complete TimeMachine backup. Unfortunately I got another kernel panic this morning. From the log below it looks like the Logitech driver has updated. The datarobitics (Drobo) driver looks the same but I'm assuming this is ok for now as I completely reinstalled it, so that leaves me with com.iospirit.driver.rbiokithelper as the culprit. I've just got to find the d*mn thing to delete it!! When I do I'll try a backup again, and failing that, erase and install Lion.
Obviously I can't really interpret the error log, but is there anything else which may be causing the issue?

Mac OS X Lion kernel panic on shutdown (MacBook Pro 5,3)
So lately I have been getting kernel panic on shutdown, running Lion 10.7.3 on my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro (Intel C2D, nVidia 9400M & 9600M GT) Reading the log it seems that it has something to do with the graphics card. prior to this, I did try to switch my graphics card from the 9400M to the 9600M but it never worked as after I logged out (after choosing higher performance), the system preferences doesnt remember the option and after I shutdown/restart, it went well to the Logon Screen but after I log on the Mac started to perform VERY slowly and hangs VERY often so I did a PRAM reset after so that I could use it again, on the 9400M.
The log can be seen here - http://pastebin.com/mjb9s6f5
If anyone can help please do so as I really wanna use the 9600M GT card for my primary/day-to-day use rather than the 9400M.Most likely culprits are these. Disable them and see if that fixes the problem:

com.apple.kec.corecrypto 1.0You have far too many third-party system modifications. There's no way that setup is going to be stable.
Back up all data to at least two different storage devices, if you haven't already done so. The backups can be made with Time Machine or with a mirroring tool such as Carbon Copy Cloner. Preferably both. You must be certain that you can restore everything to the state it's in now.
Boot into Recovery (command-R at startup), and reinstall OS X. Test. If the problem is gone, you're done.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with networks that require any kind of authentication other than a WPA or WPA2 Personal password.
If the problem persists, boot into Recovery again, launch Disk Utility, and erase the startup volume with the default options. This operation will destroy all data on the volume, so you had be better be sure of your backups. Quit Disk Utility and install the OS again. When you reboot, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process. That’s when you import the data from one of your backups. For details of how this works, see here:
Using Setup Assistant
Import only "Users" and "Settings" – not "Applications" or "Other files." Don't import the Guest account, if it was enabled on the old system. Test. If the problem is still there, you have a hardware fault. Take the machine to an Apple Store for diagnosis.
If the problem is resolved, reinstall your third-party software cautiously. Self-contained applications that install into the Applications folder by drag-and-drop or download from the App Store are safe. Anything that comes packaged as an installer or that prompts for an administrator password is suspect, and you must test thoroughly after reinstalling each such item to make sure you haven't restored the problem. -

As I said, I'm using an aftermarket SSD in my MacBookAir - and that means there's no recovery partition (hidden or otherwise) because the disk was perfectly blank. I just moved over the OS.
The OS X version available from the MAS is the stock 10.7.0 or 10.7.1 build, not the custom build with specific support that the MacBook Air 2011 (and Mac Mini 2011, for that matter) need to boot.
In other words, I'm essentally stuck. I will end up having to scavenge a friend with another 2011 Air and copying his recovery partition accross.
Maybe I'll wait untl the definitive 10.7.2 release (about a month now, I expect), install that, and then create a bootable USB thumbdrive somehow. Anyway, it'll be a pain in the bum - and of course, all this formatting and copying is not terribly good for the SSD either, as it cumulated writes... -
Bluetooth & Mountain Lion & Kernel Panics
After uninstalling all 3rd party software and finally reinstalling a clean copy of Mountain Lion on my mid 2011 MacBook Air, I have finally been able to diagnose the reason for Kernel Panics after waking from sleep. Yes, after a clean install it was still happening. I had read on another forum about disabling bluetooth before letting it sleep... and I have had no problems since doing this. Obviously this isn't ideal, but it does stop the panics.
I have a magic mouse and the apple bluetooth keyboard attached. I have not tested it so far as to figure out if it is both devices or just one of the devices that causes the issue. I do know that the it gives the kernel panic if you have the "allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer" checked or unchecked. (Both still cause the error).
The only way I have been able to stop it is by turning bluetooth off before closing the lid.
I hope this helps some of you that may be having this issue. I know there are other reasons people are having this issue (like video drivers and some third party software).Post the KP report.

Unresolved Kernel Panic -- Mac Mini
Hi, This is in reference to my wife's Mac Mini 1.5 GHz G4 running 10.4.11. She's been having a KP on startup (and at other times) and I've tried the troubleshooting steps in the X-Labs kernel panic page without result. Except that starting up in Safe Mode seems to stop it.
Here's the latest KP log. I'd appreciate it greatly if anyone has any ideas.
Best regards,
Steve

Understanding crash logs isn’t easy and it’s hard (sometimes impossible) to decipher the cause of the problem. Take a look at Apple’s Crash Reporter document at http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn2004/tn2123.html

Kernel panics are usually caused by a hardware problem – frequently RAM, a USB device or a Firewire device. What external devices do you have connected? When trying to troubleshoot problems, disconnect all external devices except your monitor, keyboard and mouse. Do you experience the same problems?
To eliminate RAM being the problem, Look at this link: *Testing RAM* @ http://guides.macrumors.com/Testing_RAM Then download & use Memtest & Ramber.
Do you have an Apple Hardware Test disc? Running the Apple Hardware Test in Loop Mode is an excellent troubleshooting step for finding intermittent hardware problems. It is especially useful when troubleshooting intermittent kernel panics. If Loop Mode is supported by the version of the Apple Hardware Test you are using, you run the Extended Test in Loop Mode by pressing Control-L before starting the test. Looping On should appear in the right window. Then click the Extended Test button. The test will run continuously until a problem is found. If a problem is found, the test will cease to loop, indicating the problem it found. If the test fails, be sure to write down the exact message associated with the failure. In some cases, RAM problems did not show up until nearly 40 loops, so give it a good run.
May be a solution on one of these links.

Hi All,
Just picked up a new mini tonight to use as an htpc. I did the collective updates when I first got the machine. It applied the updates, rebooted but didn't come back on. So I unplugged it and started it back up. It kernel panic'd when it came back up, and now I'm wondering what the problem might be.
Here is the panic log:

Any thoughts or ideas? Could it just be perhaps the EFI update, or perhaps one of the other updates? I assume if the apple hardware test passed, that unless I have another, I shouldn't panic?
Thanks all!I don't know if this may help you but I experienced the same kernel panics on a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011) when trying to boot it up at quite low room temperature. I sent the Mac to an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) and got it fixed having replaced the logic board under warranty.

Can anyone help with this please?
I have a Mid 2011 Mac Mini that has been crashing once or twice a week for the last 6 weeks or so. Originally I had 8Gb of third party RAM fitted. When it crashed with this RAM the computer would freeze the display showing no response to the keyboard or mouse. The Fan (I think but could be the HDD) would also make a lot of noise. The only way to recover would be to hold the Power button in and then the Mac would restart.
In case the memory was the issue I have reverted to he original 2Gb supplied with the machine. (Still fitted when the Panic below occurred)
Since then the Mac is restarting itself show a message when I return to it that it encountered a problem and had to restart. It is no longer freezing.
I am pretty new to the Mac OS so have been trying to make sense of the Kernel Panic logs. I uninstalled some of the software shown in the list that I am no longer using such as LogMeIn but it crashed again today.
Can someone take a look at the Kernel Panic and give me some advice please?

com.apple.kec.corecrypto 1.0That panic was not caused by third-party software. If the problem is recurrent, the possibilities are:
A stale or corrupt kernel cache
A damaged OS X installation
A fault in a peripheral device, if any
Corrupt non-volatile memory (NVRAM)
An internal hardware fault (including incompatible memory)
An obscure bug in OS X
You may already have ruled out some of these.
Rule out #1 by booting in safe mode and then rebooting as usual. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
You can rule out #2 and #3 by reinstalling the OS and testing with non-essential peripherals disconnected and aftermarket expansion cards removed, if applicable. Sometimes a clean reinstallation (after erasing the startup volume) may solve a problem that isn't solved by reinstalling in place, without erasing.
Corrupt NVRAM, which rarely causes panics, can be ruled out by resetting it.
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications for your model. Memory that is either slower or faster than specified may be incompatible.
The Apple Hardware Test or Apple Diagnostics, though generally unreliable, will sometimes detect a fault. A negative test can't be depended on. Run the extended version of the test.
In the category of obscure bugs, reports suggest that FileVault may trigger kernel traps under some unknown conditions. Most, though not all, of these reports seem to involve booting from an aftermarket SSD. If those conditions apply to you, try deactivating FileVault.
Connecting more than one display is another reported trigger for OS X bugs.
If your system is not fully up to date, running Software Update might get you a bug fix.
In rare cases, a malformed network packet from a defective router or other network device can cause panics. Such packets could also be sent deliberately by a skillful attacker. This possibility is something to consider if you run a public server that might be the target of such an attack.
If none of the above applies, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. You may have to leave it there for several days. There isn't much point in doing this unless you can reproduce the panic, or if you can't, it happens often enough that it's likely to be repeated at the store. Otherwise you may be told that nothing is wrong.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you know how to restore, and you have at least two independent backups.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
Mountain lion kernel panic using wifi
I have a very repeatable kernel panic running the latest mountain lion build 10.8.1 (occured in 10.8.0 as well, but I couldn't trace it to a certain behavior yet)
- enable Wifi, connects to home network (close, excellent connection)
- start iTunes (latest), run music over Airplay (doesn't run well at all, i.e. stops after the 0.5s of music)
- open airport utility => kernel panic, always a division error, always called by the atheros driver
anyone experiencing a similar issue?
if I disable WiFi and do the same over ethernet -> no problem.
here the panic report excerpt .... reported to apple as well.
thanks
Ruedi
