Lion OS and COmpatibility with Non_English keywords

Hello There,
I ran into strange problem which I have not experienced before. I mean when I go through such websites like: مهاجرت کانادا and کانادا مهاجرت and مهاجرت به کانادا . I see some messy content which I do not see when I am working with Leopard! do I need any specific setting for Lion in that regards?
Thank you

Could you send me a screen shot of what you mean by "messy words"?
If you are using Safari, do you have the same problem with FireFox?

  • Problems with Apple Preview filled forms and compatibility with Windows?

    Anyone else having problems with Apple Preview filled out forms and compatibility with Microsoft Windows after Lion?
    I've had it happen recently with two different people, where the data I had entered on a fillable PDF form could not be seen by Microsoft Windows, but I saw my data just fine.
    I don't know what version of Adobe Acrobat they were running.
    Thanks,
    kt

    You will get that first message when the document has been changed in a way that invalidates the internal digital signature that's applied when a document is Reader-enabled. Certain changes are allowed (e.g., filling fields, commenting, signing) and will not invalidate the signature, but others are not. The exact cause of the change is often hard to track down, but it can be due to font problems, some type of file corruption, or something that Acrobat/Reader attempts to correct when the file is opened/saved. You will also get the message if the users system time is not correct and is currently set to some time before the document was Reader-enabled. It seems best to use the most recent version of Acrobat to enabled the documents and recent versions of Reader to work with them.
    It problem is probably not related to the user using anything in the Sign pane.

    I suggest that you run software update, after which you should have Safari 6.0.5 - then check Safari - Preferences - Privacy & see that 'Block cookies' is not set to Always.
    Failing that - switch Safari extensions Off via Safari - Preferences - Extensions & test again

  • Appleworks docs and compatibility with iWorks application?

    Appleworks docs and compatibility with iWorks application? Does it exists? I do not have iWorks and will soon be upgrading my op sys to 10.4 (it really is in the mail) I currentl have 10.2.8
    I use AppleWorks a great deal. Does iWorks replace it? or enhance it?
    Will AppleWorks be upgraded or is 6.2.9 the last iteration?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions SYGWS
    iWork (no "s") is not an application, but the name given to the package of two applications, Keynote & Pages.
    Keynote is a presentation application that can open AppleWorks 6 presentation files & PowerPoint files. I haven't use Keynote other than to view a few presentation. You probably can find a lot of information by searching the Keynote forum.
    Pages is the word processing/page layout application in iWork. Pages is able to open AppleWorks 6 word processing document as well as Word, text & RTF documents. It is not able to open any other AppleWorks documents or older Word documents (I'm not sure how far back it goes). Pages 1 (iWork '05) will not display floating spreadsheet frames in AppleWorks 6 word processing documents, Pages 2 can. Pages 2 has limited spreadsheet functions available in tables (as does Keynote 3, both in iWork '06). Pages can export as PDF, Word, plain text, RTF & HTML (HTML export is disappointing to say the least). It cannot export as AppleWorks (any version).
    No one here knows for sure if AppleWorks will ever get another update & those that do have signed non-disclosure agreements, but it is extremely unlikely. In the iWork ’05 press release iWork is said to be "building the successor to AppleWorks."
    Many users here, like me, use Pages for what it does so well & AppleWorks for what it does that iWork doesn't (at least not yet) - databases, spreadsheets & drawing.

  • IE 8 and compatibility with Officejet J6480 All-in-one

    I have the above Officejet J6480, connected via USB, XP operating system and earlier this year after installing IE 8 I found that the printer was not compatible.  Therefore I went back to IE 7, and have been awaiting news from HP that the compatibility issue has been resolved, but I haven't heard anything.   It would seem that installing IE 8 would be a good move if it is compatible with the printer.
    Questions:
    Is the Officejet J6480 now compatible with IE 8 assuming I have updated my printer software from the HP site?
    If not, what do I need to do in order to use IE 8?
    Is there any reason not to go to IE 8?

  • MSI GX660R with intel motherboard and compatibility with Samsung 840 EVO SSD

    Hi
    Im am new to this forum, so I apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong section.
    I am considering to replace the hard drive in my MSI GX660R with a Samsung 840 EVO 250 gb ssd, since it has the best benchmark ratings and are very afordable. My laptop has an Intel motherboard with an i7 core processor.
    My question in relation to the upgrade is, whether the laptop is compatible with that excact ssd. I plan to run it in AHCI mode, since I have bad expirience with loss of data under RAID. If i chose to run the extra HDD as a secondary drive, it will therefore still be under AHCI.
    Can anyone refer me to some sort of compatibility list, or tell me if the above mentioned drive is compatible? I havent been able to find out myself, and MSI is farily difficult to get in contact with.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Yes, your early 2013 Retina model uses 6.0 Gbps SATA but it's not a standard mSATA connection. You could upgrade using Transcend's JetFlash -> http://www.transcend-info.com/apple/jetdrive/ - to space up to 960GB, however.

  • Xbox 360 controller (wired) and compatability with Windows 7

    Ok, here's the scoop. I have an Xbox 360 controller and a plug 'n play kit for it. I have tried the normal solutions for hooking it up and getting it to recognize in Windows 7 (32 bit) Home Prem. Edition, and all I get is it is an 'Unspecified' device in the Control Panel, and as a result, it will not be recognized in games as a controller, and will not work. I have installed the proper drivers and the 360 Accessories for Windows, but even that doesn't recognize the controller when it is plugged into my USB 2.0 port. The driver is properly installed (Windows told me the driver was installed correctly when I first plugged in my controller, after installing the program from the Microsoft website), so I have no idea why it is not working. I have followed all the stepd that I can find. Please give me some assistance.

    If you already have the software installed, go to programs and features and uninstall Microsoft XBOX 360 Accessories 1.2.
    1) Download the drivers from http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=gaming
    2) Choose Gaming > Xbox 360 Controller for Windows > Windows 7 64 bit > English.
    Don’t run the drivers.  Save them to a folder.
    (Or Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows depending on your controller)
    3) Right click the Xbox360_64Eng file in the folder you downloaded to and click "create shortcut"
    4) Right click the shortcut you created.  Select properties.
    5) On the compatibility tab in properties, click "Run this program in compatibility mode"
    Choose Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 1 as the compatibility mode. Apply setting and click ok.
    6) Right Click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator"
    7) With your controller plugged in go to Device Manager.
    You should see Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class. It located under Mice and other pointing if you do, you have arrived. If you don't, try this.
    Continue only if you don’t see Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class in Device Manager
    8) Right click the unknown device that shows a problem.
    9) Update Driver Software > Browse My computer for Driver Software > Let Me Pick from a List of Drivers
    10) Choose Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class > XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
    Ignore the warning.
    Should work now.
    Please help :(  It's still not working!   Your suggestions helped almost everything.  I don't think there was the Microsoft Common Controller for Windows class/Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play and Charge Kit in Device Manager before I tried
    your tips of reinstalling under that old service pack compatibility mode.
    Now that I see that, I thought it'd be fixed... but no!  If I run joy.cpl (the Game Controllers window) it still doesn't see my Xbox controller.  It still isn't recognized by the actual 360 controller software for my PC.
    I did try updating the drivers again in the device manager, and I am plugged into a Blue USB port.  What else?  Is it something to do with my battery pack or something?  Help!!
    I don't know if this will notify me of a response, so please feel free to email me at smorin1487 @   gmail

  • Upgrade Mac OS on my iBook and compatibility with iMac

    Hello,
    I had an iBook bought around 2002 in the US and it's a G3. I've moved to Thailand and haven't used it a lot due to limited applicability in Thailand. But now, Mac is more available so I'm now considering bought the new iMac. I wonder if I can upgrade the OS X on my iBook to the latest one so that I can have my old iBook sync-ing with the new iMac. And, to use the new features such as time machine, etc... Does anyone know or have done this before? Please help advise.

    Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
    The iBook G3 (Dual USB) can run Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), but cannot run the newest Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). Time Machine is a feature of Leopard, so is not available for the iBook.
    I'm not sure how well syncing works between the two OSes, since I don't sync my computers. You can access one from the other, however. I access my eMac (in OS 9.2.2) from my MacBook (in OS 10.4.10), both saving files to the eMac and retrieving files from it.

  • InDesign CS2 - 100 document limit and compatibility with newer versions

    Hello,
    I have Adobe InDesign CS2 and am using it to compile a large report. I have come across a problem once i tried to add more than 100 documents to my book and now see there is a 100 file limit to books in CS2. Each document needs to stay as a single file so i am unable to join files to overcome this problem.
    I have a summary table at the beginning of the document detailing the title of each file in the book. I am unable to work out how to create page hyperlinks in the pdf to the second book (documents over the 100 mark).
    It has since come to fruition that my company has updates to CS3 and CS5 and that these new versions do not have a 100 file limit in creating books. This document i am creating is over 400 pages long so i am wary of upgrading to a new version when i am not far from publishing.
    Should i have any concerns in upgrading to a new version of InDesign when i have almost finished my report? Would it be better to just upgrade to CS3 and not make such a large jump to CS5? Or does anyone know how to create page hyperlinks in my pdf to the files contained in the second book?
    Thanks for any help! Much appreciated.

    Normally I would advise against changing versions in midstream on a project like this, but I'm not sure you have a choice. My instinct is there will be fewer issues moving to CS3 than CS5, but there are far more features in CS5 you might like to use...
    One way to limit the possible anomalies would be to export all the CS2 files to .inx na open those in CS5, rather than converting the .indd files directly, then save as new CS5 .indd files and add to a new book. One very serious issue you may run into wehn moving to a later version is that the text engines are updated and text won't necessarily flow exactly the same, particualry justified text, which can cause line endings to move and some paragraphs may gain or lose a line, which can have a really devastating effect on a long doc if it causes a page count to shift. The killer is that the changes normally don't happen until you start to edit text in that story. I believe the .inx route will force a recompose on opening, but I'm not dead certain, so take a look at http://indesignsecrets.com/force-text-reflow-when-indesign-forgets-to-flow-the-text.php to see how to force the recompose manually as soon as you open the file (you'd only need to do it once, before saving in the new version, for each file), then check carefully for oversets or other problems. Live preflight in CS5 can help with that.
    As you can tell, a successful move to a newer version is likely to be a lot of careful work preparing and checking the files. Some of it can be automated (the export to .inx, the recompose, and the save in the new version) by scripting, but in all honesty you're going to need to check every page when you are done.
    One of the others who uses Hyperlinks will need to weigh in on ID's native abilities and linking to other files in a book. I know that doing that with cross-references (which don't even exist natively prior to CS4) is extremely likely to break down at some point and leave you trying to remake them all, and large numbers of links across docs is likely to slow CS5 in particular to a crawl unless all files (at least the ones to which there are links in the doc you are editing) in the book are open.

  • HEY MSI. READ THIS (regarding ICH5R and compatibility with WD Raptors)

    The following issue has not been resolved.  Seems like several people have given up and are just using the onboard Promise controller.
    Thread on issues regarding WD Raptors configured in RAID via ICH5R
    Does it not suprise you that nobody is using Raptors on the ICH5R?? hmmm?? (Maybe because they can't.)
    I have requested RMA service with Western Digital to try different hard drives. Now I am on my 2nd RMA.  If it does not work (even with both drives using the B5P bridgechip) then IT IS CLEAR THAT YOUR MOTHERBOARD WAS MANUFACTURED WITH A DEFECT.  And thus people using this board who want to use RAID with 2 Raptor drives on the ICH5R should be entitled to a replacement board or even their money back.  I AM NOT JOKING.  I think it's something quite serious because the need and demand from users are being neglected and it seems as though MSI won't bother trying to resolve this issue and hopes to silence this issue by ignoring it.
    Mods... please do not delete or lock this thread.  And people who are still in the same boat as I am and are just about to give up or have done so already... please let your voices be heard here!
    When I get my 2nd replacement Raptor (hopefully it's a B5P) I will do further testing and let everyone know if it solves the issue.

    Interestingly, I bought my raptors before I came across this thread, and found that I had problem of having my raptors being detected by the ICH5R.  At that time, I also have a HighPoint 1520 Raid PCI card on my mobo.
    Guess what, after I removed the HighPoint 1520 Raid PCI card, I am able to have my raptors plug to the ICH5R connectors and being detected.  I'm running it at Raid 0 now, as my boot drive.
    The two raptors' DCM is HBCAJAB, not sure if this information is useful.  Both drives were made in Malaysia.
    The thread I am referring to https://forum-en.msi.com/addreply.php?threadid=43273&sid=.

  • SAP ERP 6  system and compatibility with BW systems.

    Hi All,
    An upgrade to a ECC 6.0 system form 4.6C or 4.7 system is fine. But however, in an integrated environment - the 4.6C system is usually integrated with other SAP Products as well.
    The question I have is is a ECC 6.0 system compatible with BW 3.5 or lower versions of BW - i.e. when I upgrade my system to an ECC 6.0 system can these systems still talk in between themselves, or I have to plan a upgrade for this?
    If the answer is yes - is it mentioned in any SAP Note/ Website or Document as because I also need an artifact to support the answer.
    Thanks, Dibya

    Hi Dibya
    the component lists (from service.sap.com/scl) document for each release, which product instance is needed for which process (i.e. ECC and NW - BI). This source includes information about old releases as well, but not about mixtures between releases.
    In the Upgrade Dependency Analyser will you find information about these mixtures (see for instance: SAP Network Blog: New Tool for Planning Your Upgrade: The Upgrade Dependency Analyzer : New Tool for Planning Your Upgrade: The Upgrade Dependency Analyzer)

  • Externalizable and compatibility with existing serialized objects

    I have an object in a db in a serialized state as a result of writeExternal. I want to change the class's writeExternal and readExternal such that a String that should have been serialized is now serialized.
    What is the best practice for supporting existing serialized versions of the class being read by my amended version?
    Should I add to the end of readExternal and writeExternal and catch an IOException in readExternal? Will readExternal even through an IOException if my stream is exhausted? And I guess IOException could be caught for other reasons that stream exhaustion so I should not rely on it being thrown for that reason alone?
    writeExternal(ObjectOutput out)
    out.writeObject(m_1);
    out.writeObject(m_2);
    out.writeObject(m_theNewOne);
    readExternla(ObjectInput in)
    m_1 = (String)in.readObject();
    m_2 = (String)in.readObject();
    try
    m_theNewOne = (String)in.readObject();
    catch (IOException e)
    m_theNewOne = "default value";
    Thanks.

    If your readExternal method tries to data that isn't there it will get a -1 from primitive reads, EOFException from DataInputStream.readXXX methods, or from readObject() calls it will get an OptionalDataException with the eof field set to true.
    See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/serialization/spec/input.html#6014.

  • Oracle support and compatibility with graphics cards

    I have been going through 2 weeks of hell getting any kind of meaningful information on Oracle linux 6.2 support for various graphics cards. I started with an ATI FireGl card that would not work with OEL 6.2. I am swapping that out in the seemingly futile hope that I can get an Nvidia GEFORCE 8800 to work. Either I am conducting my search using the wrong verbage(hard to imagine, but possible) or totally incompetant! I am here in one last desperate gamble that SOMEONE has gone through this pain before me. Maybe I am asking too much to be able to install 11GR2 on my server and still be able to use a Gnome desktop. Linux Mint worked perfectly with the ATI card, but alas, I could not install Oracle.
    Thank you in advance
    Dean

    From what I understand, the error means that the X Window server cannot find a display attached to your DVI output, which actually means it does not support the DVI port where your display has been attached to. This is a problem of the video driver that simply lacks support for your graphics adapter.
    I suggest to start by connecting only one display and verify it is connected to the DVI-1 port of the adapter. Support for DVI-2 requires support by the video driver.
    Enterprise Linux should work with graphics adapters that are standard with server hardware sold by HP and Dell. Graphics adapters you can buy over the desk from ATI and NVIDIA are usually designed for the end-user desktop/game market and are all difficult to get fully working under Enterprise Linux. You can check the vendor support page to see if they provide driver support for SUSE and RHEL, but I doubt that it will work with the Oracle Linux UEK kernel. Driver software from these vendors are not open source and require a specific Linux kernel. Alternative drivers exist for http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/ for NVIDIA, but your success will vary, in particular if you need to support 2 monitors, which is not a typical server system setup.
    You might have more luck using a Linux distribution for desktop systems, such as Fedora or Ubuntu. What you are planning to install from Oracle? It is easier to get Oracle Database working on unsupported Linux than trying to hack a video driver to support advanced features on an unsupported operating system. Or try a complete different approach and install Windows and use virtualization, like Oracle VirtualBox to run Oracle Linux out of the box. I would prefer to use virtualization even if my desktop computer would run Linux. There are just too many advantages I would not want to miss anymore.
