Lion OS can't find my mouse

My O/S cannot find my mouse; cusor won't budge. All batteries
are new in mouse & keyboard.  Options?

Restarting your system should start the bluetooth setup assistant if no mouse or trackpad is found.
To do this with just the keyboard, press and hold FN Control and click F2.   This will highlight the  icon on the menubar.  Use the down arrow to reach Restart..  and hit enter.
Turn your mouse off and back on again.  The system will either recognize it or start the setup assistant.

  • Where is the home/application/address book in Lion.  Can't find it to move in a backup of my address book.

Where is the home/application support/address book folder in Lion?  Can't find it to put in a backup.
I made a mistake.  I want to find the home/library/application support/address book - not the application itself.  The whole library is not there - is it a hidden file?  And if so how do I get it to show?

All applications are in the /Applications/ folder, not the /Home/Applications/ folder. In fact the latter should not even exist unless you specifically created it.
Kappy, I was going to start a Thread about the Application Folder so I'm glad you brought it up and you said that it should not even exist. I've had an Applications Folder within my Home Folder thru multiple OS. I'm even tempted to say since OS 9, but I'm not sure about that. There has never been anything in that folder and I don't remember ever creating it. Infact, The folder to me looks like a folder that would be installed as part of the OS.

  • I just upgraded to Lion and can't find my EXS24 sampler instruments

The instruments that came with Logic are still in their place, but can't find user sampler instruments.  It used to be (user / library / application support / logic / sampler instruments, but there is no "library" folder in the user folder anymore.  Any suggestions?

The User/Library folder is now hidden in Lion. To get to the "user" Library folder you now have to access it from Finder>Go>Go To Folder.
Once there, type this: /users/(your administrator name here)/Library/
    Hope this helps...
I've been working in Lion just fine until tonight! I lost my EXS24II sampler Instruments too... but probably for another reason?  -- Andy

  • My Library folder on my User (Home) is missing I know it is somewhere as the printer profiles in it are present when i go to an application. I just updated to Lion. where can I find the folder?

I just updated to Lion. I cannot find my Library Folder in my User folder. I know the information is there as I can see printer profiles stored in there in an application, but I cannot find the folder. Could it have been moved during upgrade?

It is not missing, it is now hidden.  In Finder option-click Go in the menubar and it will appear under Home.

  • HT4199 Mountain Lion OS can't find my Network

I recently installed Mountain Lion OS last night so I could have AirPlay for my new Apple TV.  Now my iMac can't find my WiFi network which worked fine before I downloaded the new OS.  How do I fix this? Ugh

I have rebooted both the computer and the router.  It won't show my Network after installation of Mountain Lion. Worked fine before on my old OS system.  The Mac guy told me to buy it and download after I bought my Apple TV this weekend so I can stream web content.  I don't know if my router to set up for a private network, how do I found that out?
    Thanks!

  • I need to update to Maverick. I'm currently running OS 10.7.5 and every time I try to find a compatible update to even update to Mountain Lion, I can't find it. My computer is running slowly and I can't use iPhoto.

Okay, so I can't upgrade to Maverick because it's incompatible, nor do I happen to have thousands of dollars to dish out for a new Mac. I can't even find the next upgrade. Every time I click "Software Update" it finds nothing related to this. And it's also really important for me to be able to use iPhoto which lately just gives me the rainbow wheel of death even though I've tried several fixes.

There are no software updates for Lion (10.7) past 10.7.5.
If your machine supports Mountain Lion (10.8) you can buy it at the Apple Store. They'll send you a redemption code via email and you can use it at the App Store to download Mountain Lion.
    http://www.todaysiphone.com/2013/10/online-apple-store-offering-redemption-codes -os-x-lion-mountain-lion/
iPhoto is not part of the OS and each of those apps can be purchased via the App Store.

  • HT4854 I downloaded Mountain Lion, now can't find it, to install. About this Mac, says I am still on 10.7.4

Last night, I downloaded Mountain Lion. I watched, as an unfamiliar screen came up, showing the download progress, when it was all over, my desktop went back to looking and acting just like Lion. I tried restarting it, nothing. I tried restarting again, nothing. I performed a "Find" for Mountain Lion, nothing. I performed a "Find" for OSX 10.8, nothing. I am simply trying to install it on the computer I downloaded it to.
What am I doing wrong? I wrote an email to Apple support, and got a "canned" email back, telling me how to generically retrieve downloads from the App Store. But, by following those directions, I do not see (nor did I expect to see) Mountain Lion in my iTunes. I see it in my download history, but no method to install it, which I thought it was doing, last night, when I bought and thought I was downloading it.

Open Launchpad and see if "Install Mountain Lion ..." is displayed. If it is then you will find the application in your Applications folder.
Normally, the applicaton launches automatically after it is downloaded. You would have to click on the Install button in order to start the upgrade.

  • Upgraded to Lion and can't find previous backups

I upgraded a Macbook to Lion from Snow Leopard.  The laptop had been on time machine backing up to a time capsule for about a year.  Then when I fired up the laptop it wan't backing up.  So I went into the "Time Machine Preferences" and it asked me to select disk.  When I selected disk it wanted to re-back up the entire computer. It didn't recognize any of the previous backups.
Does anyone know how to keep the previous backups in the time machine so I can look at the older files still if I need to?

  • Installed Lion and can't find my entourage mailbox

I was using Entourage 2004 as my mail program. I upgraded before trying to transfer my mailbox to Apple's Mail (big mistake). I've since created a Snow Leopard partition and copied MS Offic into it. I can open the copy of Entourage and also the file still resident in my Lion partition. Neither shows the stored mailbox.
Would downgrading the Lion partition help? Is the MS mailbox in a file someone can direct me to?
Any suggestion would be most welcome.
    Thanks loads for any help.

  • Upgrade to Mountain Lion and can't find the preferences file ?

In OS 10.6.8,  whenever I had a delay in playback from the Source to the timeline, I would delete the preferences file.
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, this file appears to be hidden.  Where is it located ?    I also have a custom keyboard file called "custom.kys".   I can no longer find this either ?
    thanks.

    Hello,
Open Your Finder, Hold OPTION and CLICK on "GO" from your top menu in Finder. Select Library.
Go to Application Support > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 6.0. The custom keyboard list will be located there.
To trash your prefs do the following. When launching Premiere Pro  hold down Shift+Option. This automatically throws away Premiere’s preferences.

  • Imac can't find magic mouse

I got my parents a magic mouse for xmas, but their imac cannot find it. The computer has a 'mighty' mouse already. It's running 10.5.8, and I downloaded and installed the wireless mouse update 1.0. It is not finding it. This is a pretty recent imac, less than a year old. How can I get the imac to see the mouse? The mouse is turned on and blinking green. The old mouse shows up in the bluetooth preferences, but not the new one.
    Thanks
    Bob

You will need to add it as a new BT device.

  • New Mac Book w/Lion. Can't find Pages or Keynote. Won't run with the old 09. Doesn't it come pre installed?

Old Mac Book hard drive failure. New Mac Book Pro w/Lion pre installed. Restored from back up but Pages and Kenote has error/ problem with software. I'm assuming it's out of date. Doesn't Lion come w/these programs or am I missing something?

No, Mountain Lion does not come with iWork programs. Check your account in the App Store and see if you can download them. If not you'll need to purchase them.

  • Where can I find Mighty Mouse drivers/prerferences

Does anyone know where the default settings are located for the Mighty Mouse or the easiest way to restore them?
I installed Controller Mate and Steermouse for a bit before uninstalling them but now I can't reconfigure my Mighty Mouse. (I want to disable the right click). I'd like to use Time Machine to restore the Mighty Mouse drivers/preferences.
    Please help!

My mouse system preferences are still there and I can customise most of the Mighty Mouse functions except it won't let me disable the secondary click for some reason i.e. I make the change in preferences but the context menu still appears when I right click.
I have uninstalled the 3rd party drivers using AppZapper.

  • Upgraded to lion, can not release the mouse/the icon is following

upgraded to lion, but can not release the mouse/tablet/touchpad when click and drag(the icon turns translucent and following the arrow, doesn't want to release)
I can do nothing with this laptop. the support from Apple has no idea on this in China
have to reinstall all the system from 10.5.
    so sad!
    Who can help?

    SOLVED:
I was reading a post about a similar problem and discovered a free program called TinkerTool. I downloaded it and under the Finder tab was able to check a feature called show all hidden files or something. Once I did this all files on my backup drive were visible but some were greyed out.
I unchecked this feature and closed TinkerTools then restarted OS X Lion. Everything is back to normal and I can again see and manipulate the files on my backup drive. I'm all set, maybe reading this will help someone else.
