Lion OS won't allow me to select a HD disk to download to

I have "downloaded" Lion 10.7.4 twice. When it gets to the "Select a disk you want to install to" it will not let me select, nor does the "Install" button allow me to continue. Thoughts please?

Under the disk it does display is a link to select from other disks. Click on that to see the other disks on which you can install.
If you have some other problem, then please provide any error message you receive.

Which albums are you trying to add them to ? You should be able to add them to new albums that you've created directly on the iPad, but you can't add photos to albums that were synced from a computer.

Won't allow me to select QWERTY keyboard

Hi all!!!
I get to the settings screen where I choose the keyboard layout, and it won't allow me to choose another layout. It selected AZERY for me and I don't like it.
Did a soft reset and didn't fix it..... got any ideas??

I'm not sure of your next step and don't want to give you bad advice. For the time being why not add another English keyboard.

Firefox hangs on a website won't allow me to select links within the website. when i restart firefox it won't open. i have to end the process from the task manager

when i visit a site called clubforeplay.com it won't let me view any of my friends profiles. when i try to navigate away firefox does not respond. when i close out of firefox and try to reopen it. i get nothing. i have to physically go into the task manager and end the firefox.exe process manually before i can go back. i have tried to uninstall and then reinstall firefox with no luck. it is starting to affect my firefox in different websites

Logic Pro 8 won't allow me to select Novation nio 2/4 as input device...

Can someone please advise about this problem? It used to work fine a while back, but I don't know what's happened since then - under Preferences > Audio > Devices > Core Audio the nio 2/4 shows up, but when I try to select it as my input device for for an audio track all I get to choose from is Input 1 and 2 - no nio 2/4...
I'm stumped... Does anyone have any advice?

After fiddling around I discovered that I can actually use the Nio - I just have to select Input 2 - it doesn't show up as Nio 2/4 like it does in Garageband... Can't remember if it ever did to be quite honest - as I said I haven't worked in Logic for a while so I really need to get up to scratch!

Black and white adjustment as shown in tutorial won't allow me to select.

Do a Get Info (command - I) on the folder and change the permissions. Then click on the gear icon and select Apply to enclosed items. Below is what is set on my computer.

Firefox Hello won't allow me to select which video and audio devices to use when I start a conversation instance.

As per the title. If I ACCEPT a call, or start a conversation I have no choice about which devices are used (video and audio), Firefox seems to just arbitraily decide which to use without asking me. If I make a call or join a conversation it's different, I get a dialog asking me which devices I want to use. Similarly, there's no options to edit the conversation settings to select the device.
I tried just entering the conversation URL into a browser tab, which does give me the dialog, but I cannot join the conversation as it says there are already two people in it.
How to fix this?

Update: This just seems to be an oversight. Devs, You have to realize that conversation starters and call answerers still need the ability to select their devices. I know WebRTC and Hello is all still beta, but this seems to be something that should have been realized from the very start.
Are you also aware that the code examples on MDC don't actually work in Firefox, but do work in Chrome? Again, I know you say the API docs are in need of update, but for example source to actually nor work on the browser you develop and it working on a browser you do not seems a trifle ridiculous. If you want this technology to catch on, you've got to be more diligent.

The print menu on my MacBook Air won't allow me to select two sided printing, how do I do this?

I recently purchased a MacBook Air (my very first Mac) and I cannot access all of the printing options when I print. I am able to print and the printer driver was downloaded, but my options are limited. I cannot enable two sided printing, which is something I was able to do with my current printer via my old laptop. I am in grad school and have a lot of journal articles to print and read that are 60-70 pages each. I'd much rather print these two sided to save paper. I have the latest version of OS X (version 10.8.5) and my printer is an HP Laser Jet P2035n.
Can anyone help me fix this issue so I don't have to use my old laptop to print?

- Try tapping the screen twice with three fingers to get to normal and then go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn Voice-Over over.
- If unsuccessful, connect the iPod to its syncing computer and go to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes. Click on Configure Universal Access and turn Voice-Over off.

Mac Mini won't boot - can't select start-up disk!

Hi all -
mid way through an important project, my Mac mini 2.1 hung and I restarted using the power button. When it came back on I just get the grey screen with flashing folder & ?.
I have tried booting from the install cd & it does this successfully, but when I access disk utility, all the options for repair etc. are greyed out. I can't even reinstall OSX because the startup disk isn't available as an option to write to.
I've tried running the hardware test by booting and holding d. This came back with no errors.
I've tried zapping the PRAM and done the SMC thing. No joy.
Any ideas on how to make the mini see the startup disk?

Cheers. Am trying it now, have partitioned a fresh drive and specified it to be bootable thru GUID, then I selected the Leopard dvd as the source and the partition as the destination in the RESTORE function of Disk Utility. Is this correct?

ITunes won't allow me to access my previous purchases to download an older album.

iTunes originally had me download half an album twice and I didn't know that before I bought it. So they have finally fixed it and I want to get the fixed version by redownloading the album from my previous purchases. When I go to click on the purchases link in the iTunes store, it just brings up a white page with nothing on it. Clearly this is a huge issue. If there are anyways to trouble shoot please let me know.

Have you or are you able to restore the iPod via iTunes? If so, that would probably be your next step. If you are unable to restore it on your Mac, try it on another machine if at all possible.

Illustrator CS3 - Print - Output - Wont allow me to select Separations

Hi there
I'm silkscreening for the first time. The prepping process should be really simple right? Separate colour layers, using Illustrator, then print each layer onto transparency sheets. Well I'm about to loose my mind.
The image is CMYK, its a single spot colour (I think) which is red and the outlines are black. Printer is a Canon ix6500.
I can't seem to separate the colours in Illustrator CS3?! Why?! When selecting Print > Output > Mode > it won't allow me to select Colour Separations.
I've tried to overcome this by selecting Printer > Adobe Postscript and PPD > Canon ix6500 series. This allows me to select Colour Separations, but then it won't print, it only saves it as a PDF, and prints it as is.
PLEASE HELP!!! Any advice would be appreciated!! I'm going out of my mind here!!

It is. But you're misunderstanding the whole principle of color separation.

No. Forget Layers. Layers has nothing to do with color separations. Think of Layers as nothing but an organizational tool for the stack of objects in your file. Color separation is the generation of a separate print for each ink that will be printed.

No. The image for each ink is printed on its own sheet.
The image is CMYK...
For clarity, don't call it an image. That makes it difficult to figure out what you're talking about. This is Illustrator; an object-based layout program. Your design can contain any number and combination of raster images, vector paths, and text objects. The word "image" in the context of a program like Illustrator always suggests a raster image object. If you're referring to a raster image object contained in the file, call it that: a raster image. If you're talking about your whole artwork, call it the design or the document. Don't call it "the image".

That's self-contradictory. Nothing can be CMYK and at the same time a single spot color.
Here's a simple key to understanding color separation: Don't think in terms of "colors." Think entirely in terms of inks. In your immediate context, how many inks are going to be used to print with individual silkscreens?
By definition, a CMYK color is built up by overlaying a combination of up to four specific inks: Process Cyan, Process Magenta, Process Yellow, and Process Black. (Note the word "process" here, refering to "four-color process.")
By definition, a spot color is a Swatch (in Illustrator) which represents a single ink.
So "spot color" and "process color" are antithetical. "CMYK" is germane to process color, not spot color. Although process color can be done by silkscreen printing, spot color is more common, and I'm assuming that's what you are targeting.
So it's simple, when you think like this:
Ask yourself: How many inks are going to be allowed to print this design? (Two: a black ink and a red ink.)
Therefore, create that many (2) Swatches in Illustrator. Make sure they are defined as Spot Color Swatches. Use only those two Swatches in your entire design.
You can name those two Spot Color Swatches anyway you want. It doesn't matter. There is a common misconception that Spot Color Swatches must be named like (or even selected from) Swatches in the Pantone Swatch Library. Not so. Regardless of how you name them, each color separation is going to print to its own separation "plate" and the actual image on that "plate" (or film, or vellum) is going to be black. This is true in both process and spot color. In spot color work, each Spot Color Swatch--again, regardless of how you name it-- is going to be printed to its own "plate" and the image on that plate will be black. The name of the Spot Color Swatches, therefore, is nothing more than a convention by which to convey to the printing house what inks you intend to be used for each separation "plate." Obvously, it makes the most sense to name your Spot Color Swatches according to the names of the actual silkscreen inks that will be used (ex: "Nazdar Fire Red"), if you know them. If not, simply naming them "SpotRed" and "SpotBlack" will be fine.
Which brings me to a point of common confusion with which I think you are struggling: Exactly parallel to the matter of merely naming your Spot Color Swatches is the matter of merely coloring your Spot Color Swatches for on-screen display. There is a common misconception that Spot Color Swatches must be selected from some pre-existing Swatch Library (ex: Panone). Again, not so. So long as you define a Swatch as Spot Color, you can use any "color mixer" to specify any color you want for how it is displayed on-screen. You can color your Spot Color Swatch using either the RGB color sliders, or the CMYK sliders. Again, it does not matter one whit. Using the CMYK sliders to color your Spot Color Swatches does not make it "a CMYK color" (i.e.; a process color). So long as the Swatch is designated a Spot Color Swatch it's still defining a spot color (a single ink) and will print to only one separation "plate". Obviously, it makes the most sense to try to color your Spot Color Swatches to approximate how the actual corresponding ink will look in print. But the truth is, it doesn't matter. You could, for example, use CMYK sliders to color your Spot Color Swatch named "Nazdar Fire Red" so that it looks lime green on screen. If you did, the separation plate would still be labeled "Nazdar Fire Red", and it would still have a black image on it, and the color in the final printed result would simply be a matter of what physical ink the printer loaded his silkscreen with.
Again, to summarize that: Using CMYK sliders to color a Spot Color Swatch does not make it "a CMYK color" in terms of color separation. That is, it does not make it a process color. As long as the Swatch is defined as a Spot Color Swatch, it will print to only one color separation plate.
Finally, Layers: Don't worry at all about which Swatch is used on which Layer. You can have a thousand red fills and/or strokes, and a thousand black fills and/or strokes applied to a kazillion different objects, and those objects can be arranged in any stacking order on any number of Layers, or all on one Layer. It doesn't matter. If you've only defined two Spot Color Swatches, and you've only used those two Swatches in your design, then when you print the design to color separations, you will still only get two separations: one for SpotRed, one for SpotBlack (or whatever you named your Spot Color Swatches).
Printer is a Canon ix6500.
The question regarding your desktop printer is always: Is it a PostScript printer? That is, does it contain a (firmware) PostScript interpreter, or does its driver contain a (software) PostScript interpreter? If not, it can't print color separations. If this is your problem, there is a workaround, and a particularly popular one in screen printing, sign making, and other industries: You can "print" to a PDF "virtual printer" (i.e.; software which pretends to be a printer). If you have Acrobat (that's Acrobat, not Reader) installed, and if you are on Windows, you probably have a virtual printer named Adobe PDF installed. If so, you can select that as your "printer" and "print" color separations to it. If you've built your design correctly the resulting PDF will have one page for each ink. (The image on each page will be black.) You can then print those PDF pages to your non-PostScript printer. (This workflow is quite common in small screen printing shops.)

If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

Borderless printing in Lightroom 5--Mac Yosemite, Canon i9900. Selected 8.5x11 borderless media, but LR insists on printing with borders. Tried adjusting cell size and margins, but LR won't allow setting to zero.

LR won't allow me to adjust the margins below minimum values of about 0.25 in. Borderless printing and 8.5x11 borderless media are selected.
LR also won't allow me to increase the cell size. It seems to have a maximum of 8x10.68.
Aspect ratio of the image I'm trying to print is 8.5x11 so it should be a perfect fit.
When I print the same image in Photoshop, it prints borderless just fine on the same printer.

I have had some more trials to print without boarders. This time, it was inside of iPhoto. I had made a greeting card and wanted to print to a custom size. but without the ability to select the size as a boarder less size, I was unable to print directly. So instead, I had to save as a pdf > save pdf to iPhoto and then print the image as a photo (instead of a card).
