Lion update 10.7.1 will not load on MBA

I have a MBA with 10.7 build 11a494a and I cannot load the 10.7.1 or 10.7.2 updates?  Any thoughts?

Then you need an external or remote DVD drive.
I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but it sounds like you really don't know much about software installation in Mac OS.  Your "friend" who gave you this bootlegged software, him/her I'll give a hard time.  I don't think this person did you any favors.  Perhaps you should ask them to help you clean up the mess they made on your system.

If you are getting the blank app update screen, many, many people are having this problem over the last couple of days. It is a problem that Apple must fix now.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this. It is a workaround only until then.

Yup, most users on this forum do not use MS Office, I'd suggest reposting on the Office for Mac Product Forums hosted by Microsoft.
    Good luck.

  • Cannot update software and safari will not load

I keep geting this - Software Update can’t connect to the update server. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet, and then try again.
But i am connected to the internet fine. I have tried for days, as Safari will not load the home page, or any other, it just hans so i thought updating would help.
I have tried moving the plist onto the desktop and tried again but that has not worked.
    Running Snow leopard 10.6.7
    any help appreciated.

Install each update separately. I got iTunes and Remote Desktop to update, but still cannot get Safari to update. When my Mac is supposed to restart, I just get logged out. Am searching the boards to find an answer….

  • After I updated Windows my Firefox will not load completley, the page is nothing but boxes.

I updated windows 2 days ago and since then all of the pages I try to go to will not load up properly. Everything on the page is boxed off. I am using Windows Vista and have 4.01 Firefox. I already looked at my add-ons and removed or disabled the things that said they were not compatible.

Did you remove the Firefox program folder before reinstalling Firefox?
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 15.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • HT5730 Lion update 10.8.4 will not install

I have been trying to install Lion update 10.8.4 for several months.  It goes through the process and restarts my computer (Macbook Pro) but when everything is up and running again the App Store updates still shows this update.  I have checked the "about" sections on the programs it should be updating and it has not updated.  What is going on?

    Give this a try:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
After this is completed download and install 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo).

  • Update 14.1.0 will not load

I'm on a macbook pro, lion is installed.
The update from micrsoft 14.1.0 will not upload to my box.
What do I need to do as I'm getting hacked into thru emails
and someone is attaching their bogus emails on names in my
    contact book?

okay, I will try to help you.... which program from microsoft needs updating? Maybe you need to go to microsoft's website and download from there *making sure you have chosen to save it where-ever, then run it* As for your emails, I don't know. Save your incoming and outgoing email settings, then delete your old user account, set up a new one, typing in needed info where appropriate. I think there is also a spam/junk filter in there somewhere.  Perhaps you need to talk to your ISP (internet Service Provider) to see what they can do.  I have never heard of someone being hacked into thru email
oh, and one last thing. This is a common mis-understanding. This part of the Apple forum is for Mac Pro's ( the big desktop towers) and you have a macbook Pro,  which is portable. If you can please post your question in the appropriate forum, that we may be able to help you better
    thank you

  • Why is it every time I update my games they will not load anymore?

Why is it when I update my games  they no longer load on my I pad?

Your ******** thats why, make sure you back your stuff up before updating, go to itunes>itunes store>purchased right side of the store> and you can redownload your stuff there, not apples responsibility to back your stuff up, its yours.

  • I did an update and now Firefox will not load.

We were asked to do an update for firefox yesterday and ever since that we haven't been able to use it. It say's "Problem loading page, the connection has timed out.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I have tried a system restore. Today I tried to go into the profile manager and delete any we had and reinstall firefox again. I am lost, anyone know what to do?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
See [[Server not found]] and [[Firewalls]] and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firewalls

  • Since the update to v32 pages will not load in my browser without moving my mouse around the screen! I have already reset firefox. This did not fix the issue.

the details are pretty much the same as the question. I cannot get any content to load without wiggling my mouse across the page that is trying to load. The busy circle just spins and spins but nothing loads without moving the mouse.

i think the best option at the moment is to use the firefox 31 esr version: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/
