Lion wants to log me out every time I log in

As soon as I log in and can see my desktop, I get a message asking me if I'm sure I want to log out and have 1 minute to click cancel.
If I let it log out and then log back in again the same thing happens.  Even with automatic login enabled, I get the log out message as soon as it logs in.
Obviously I can just click cancel and then carry on as normal but I want to get rid of this annoying automatic log out as soon as I log in.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I'm having this issue too, plus when I try to change the wait time for any screensaver the logout window appears.
I will reinstall lion.

System Preferences - Mail, Contacts and Calendars - delete the Facebook account you see there, and/or add your own account.

  • Facebook/Safari logs me out every time I close my MacBook.

When I close my MacBook I am signed into Facebook with the 'remember me' box clicked. However, when I reopen my MacBook, Facebook keeps asking me to log in every time. This has only started happening in the past few weeks, not a clue why it has either.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Cheers!

I just notice that Facebook requires me to log back in from scratch as well twice during a short period. Guess it's them causing it, might just be a temporary thing.

  • How can I figure out what my password is and keep it unlocked?  Every time I do a system update, it requires the password and sends me into cyber trouble with the remember my keychain access, requiring it every time I log in.  A real hassle to be avoided

How can I find out what my password on the computer is?  I had to change it due to my teenagers helping themselves, and now every time there is a system update, I have to have the password, which I cannot remember or find.  It then wants it every time I log in and pops up Key Chain Access as well.  Very annoying.  I do not have the disc to reload it and fear I would loose everything on my computer as there is also trouble with the back up system.  Too many issues and not enough solutions.  Many thanks in advance!

I do not have the disc to reload
Why not?  You need your system dvds to troubleshoot & to reset/change passwords in view of your current OS listed in your  profile.
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
If you're not in the US, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number. Here's a list of links to all of those - http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html Another resource:  International Support Phone #s.

I have to have the password, which I cannot remember or find.
When selecting passwords, make sure it's one that you will NEVER forget AND no one else can figure out.
Old school--- > Print it out & keep in a safe place.  A place that ONLY you know about AND never forget.
New school---> Get a password manager utility.  Highly recommend 1Password which is shareware.  Do a Google search for free password managers.

  • Lion setup assistant opens every time I log on...

I just upgraded my iMac 3.06 Intel Core 2 Duo to Lion. Now, every time I log on, the Lion setup assistant boots up and requires me to "click to continue." Also, the iCloud preference pane opens up. This happens every single time I log on. I have tried to find out how to disable the screens from opening, but with no luck. Can anyone help me turn the buggers off?

rkaufmann87, Thanks again for your reply,
I had done the simple things previous to my last post - following your excellent advice on other threads.  I have tried again the methods you describe, starting in safe mode.  Also starting via the recovery disk and 'Repair Disk Permission' (done this about 6 times).  Unfortunately no change.  What is strange is the same mesage is displayed multiple times.
    "Permissions differ on system/library/coreservices/remoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/contents/support/remo tedesktopapp/contents/resources"
"Repaired system library core services remoteManagement/ARDSmgmt.app"
And running Repair Disk Permissions, the same repair is affected even when this was completed in the past repair scan.  It is as if the repair is not effective or there is a subroutine rewriting this again?
The Repair Disk Option has been run multiple times with no fault found.
I have even done a full install from safe mode, downloading the install file again from the app store but still have the same problem.  Settings not remembered and the set up assistant launches again with the System Preferences pane also displayed.  The MacBook also seems sluggish compared to the mac mini which had its Lion update and works just fine.  Thankfully ios5 devices, ipad and iphone work a treat, its just getting this MacBook sorted.
Can you advise my best course of action?
I get the impression that I will neeed to backup my data and 'start again' with a disk format and clean install?
    Many thanks

  • I don't want an email every time I log into my icloud account. How do I turn this off?

Every time I log in to my icloud account, I get an email notifying me that I have done so. I don't want this and can't figure out how to stop receiving them.

You can't actually stop them. If they are coming to your iCloud address you could go to the iCloud website, go to the Mail page, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left, choose 'Rules' and set up a Rule to move all messages from [email protected] to another folder you previously created, or the Trash. If they are coming to a non-Apple address you can do the same thing in the Mail app on your Mac (presumably also on mobile devices though I don't know about that).

  • Every time I log keychain message appears; don't want it

Every time I log in, message appears that several sub-programs want current keychain log-in password...just a complete and absolute pain to deal with this endlessly repeating loop.  Did not have this problem with Mountain Lion...just surfaced with Mavericks.  Can anyone show me how to cancel/shut off/delete this annoyance?  Thanks in advance if you can help.

  • Every time I want to log in to my Hotmail account I have to type my password over again, and every time I log in I try to save my password. I have tried hundreds of times, but it seems impossible. What am I doing wrong?

When A person want to log in to a hotmail account to read or send an E-mail, one have to enter the e-mail adress and password. There is also a small square you can mark i you want Firefox to save your password so that you don't have to enter password every time you log in to the e-mail account (in this case hotmail)
Every time I log in to hotmail I mark the square so that Frefox will save my password, but my password has never been saved. I'm so tired of always having to enter my password, over and over again.
What do I do wrong? How can I solve tis problem?

    * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
    * Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

In the last week my Imac (OS Lion) has started opening two to seven programs every time I log in.  Why?  How do I stop it?  I think it started after I was led to do something I can't remember with Terminal.app.

If they have open windows/documents from your last use of the application, try going to System Preferences/General and check the 'Close windows when quitting application'.

  • How do I keep my background from changing every time I log out an than back into my sign in?

My account is the head account for our iMac. I just added a sign-on for my brother an ever since adding him it never fails. Every time I log out and than back into my account my background goes to that ugly space swirly background as opposed to the pic of my daughter. I've never had this probably prior to adding that new account. And prior to this my husband has his own sign in and we also have a guest account. So, I don't know why this would be changing my background every time! Really frustrating! Thanks for your help!

If you log in automatically, a known bug will cause the desktop picture to revert to the default image at every startup. The only workaround is to disable automatic login in the Users & Groups preference pane.
Linc, I have seven user accounts on my machine and they all experience the same issue. What I have noticed is that if an account is the only one logged in the selected picture is retained. If any other account is logged in the next user to login sees the default desktop picture. Automatic login is not enabled. This leads me to believe the bug is not limited to automatic logins. It will be intersting to see what happens when 10.9.1 hits the street.
There also seem to be several other threads reporting this behavior.

  • KDE panel forgets its position every time I log out

Every time I log in to KDE, the panel is in the middle of my screen and I have to manually move it to the top.
What's weird is that I have another, autohide, vertical panel that is always in the correct spot.
    Help?

in my experience, the problem arises when panels are moved, resized, etc. It's now several months that i'm using the same panel layout and i don't see the issue anymore.
One very wild guess is that the problem is related to moving/resizing/adding panels and then crashing plasma before closing it in the right way. I've been able to reproduce the issue this way many times, but not always.

  • AppStore asking to sign in every time I log in to my local account. Is there a way to disable this?

I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion on my MacBook Pro and I noticed that every time I log in to my local account it wants me to authenticate with the AppStore. I have a few apps that I purchased in Snow Leopard, but this is very annoying. Is there a way to disable this prompt or have it saved to my keychain?
I am currently running 10.7.1 with all the latest updates.
    Thanks!

Go to the Store menu and Check for Available Downloads...?
I used to get prompted when there was something waiting or unfinished.
    Regards,
