Lion won´t accept ntfs harddrives? Why?

Hi,
I just updated to Lion and the only problem with the software is, that it won´t show or accept my ntfs harddrives. Why is that?
Is there any program for it, because I don´t want to formate my harddrives, 2 much stuff on it.
If someone could help me, that would be terrific.
Thanks
Florina

Mac OS X can read NTFS formatted disks, but cannot write to them.  In order to add this functionality to your Mac, you'll need the assistance of some third party software or add-on.  There are several different options available.  Your best bet would be to do a Google search for different possibilities.  I have heard a lot of good reviews about the NTFS Mounter plug-in.

  • Lion won't accept my Screensaver Password

After a Log Off or the Screensaver has been activated, Lion won't accept my password to get back to the OS. If I click Switch Users and enter (the same) password it logs on without a problem. I've seen other people with the same problem but no answer so far. Has anyone found a solution to this?

Updating to 10.7.1 didn't help... Still no one any ideas?

  • HT4718 lion won't accept my password. HELP

    Hello
I had to change my hard drive. I reinstalled Snow Leopard with the DVD that came with my Mac Book Pro. Then, I used my time machine to recover all my information. Everything worked just fine. Then when I wrote down my password to log in, it didn't recognized my password. After many times of trying a crossed circle appeared, so I had to erase the HD and do the process all over again. This didn't work because it won't accept the password again.
Is there anything I can do to recover the password or to make it accept it.?
I had the Lion OSX in my time machine.
Please help so I can use my Mac again!!!
    Thank you
    ADTM

You need the discs that came with your machine, not the one that came with the MBP. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2681 for details. You can get replacement discs for a nominal S&H charge from 1-800-MY_APPLE.

  • Mac Lion won't accept IP address sent from DHCP server

Upgraded to Lion a few days ago.  Everything worked for a couple days.  Plug in the ethernet cable today and I never get an ip address with DHCP from my router.  I have 2 other devices plugged into the router and they get ip addresses normally.  Captured the DHCP communication to see if I was getting a valid DHCP offer and I am...it is included.  The Lion firewall is disabled.  For some reason Lion isn't accepting the DHCP offer.  Could this be a bug or maybe something in a cache needs to cleaned out.  I connect to several different networks daily and they all work except for this one.
The line in Bold type shows the ip address being offered that never gets accepted by lion.

I have seen the same issue with my iOS and Mac OS devices (iPhone and MacBook Pro). I have written my own DHCP server (http://notebook.kulchenko.com/embedded/dhcp-and-dns-servers-with-arduino) and have had troubles getting my devices to connect (Windows Vista and Ubuntu devices connect fine). I suspect that this problem happens because the DHCP Offer message is sent to a broadcast address, even though (at least in my case) the broadcast flag is off in the DHCP Discover message I see.
Unfortunately you didn't include the Discover message, so I can't tell for sure, but if it indeed has the broadcast flag set to 0, then the server should send the response message using unicast as per DHCP spec (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2131.txt, section 4.1):
If the broadcast bit is not set and 'giaddr' is zero and
'ciaddr' is zero, then the server unicasts DHCPOFFER and DHCPACK
messages to the client's hardware address and 'yiaddr' address.
So, it seems like in this case the server may be at fault, even though it would be nice for Mac OS to accept broadcast responses (and would solve my problem too).
Can someone confirm that Mac OS does not accept broadcast responses to DHCP Discover and DHCP Request messages? Thanks.
    Paul.

  • TS3988 I've downloaded the latest Apple iTunes software for my PC. Every time I try to log into iCloud, I'm told that my Apple ID is fine but iCloud won't accept it. Why? I've changed my password. Done everything possible.

Why won't iCloud accept my Apple (PC) ID/password?

    Hello CarenzaRielle,
I know not being able to access your Apple ID can be frustrating. I have located an article that will walk you through a series of troubleshooting steps to resolve this:
Apple ID: If you forget your password
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5787
Refer to the Apple ID Support page if you are unable to reset your password using the steps in this article. If you know your Apple ID password, you can also choose to change your Apple ID or change your password.

  • Mountain lion won't accept dvd in slot

I've a brand new DVD drive hooked up to new Mac Mini via USB. There's a glimmer of life there: the drive sort of clears its throat when you plug it in. But I simply cannot push a DVD or CD all the way into the slot. I've tried cleaning it by inserting a DVD in wrapped in an E cloth but to no avail: it's impossible to push a disc in all the way. I've tried it on both my Macs and the drive just won't take the DVD. Is the drive faulty, or is this a Mountain Lion compatibility issue? It's most inconvenient as I need to load a piece of software from a DVD right now. Cheers.

Thanks for the advice Mike - tried it but no go. It's almost as if there's a physical blockage, but there's no reason there should be one.  Very strange indeed.
    Any other ideas? Anyone?

So you answered your own question I think - and I'm not commenting on your statement in your next post
As for your question about the current version 09 - I don't know and no one here does since we're just users like you. There has been no announcement from Apple; actually the apps work just fine, so as long as they update them, no need to pay for a new version.

Logic might migrate fine but the iWork installation scatters a few more resources and does not seem to take to migration so nicely.
If it was a school licence it seems to me it was meant for school use not personal use.
If it was a school licence and you have now graduated, it may be time for you to get your own copy. The M.A.S. version is cheap enough and allows multiple installaions on systems with the same Apple I.D.
If you are still attending the school, take it up with their system admin.
