Lion won't install on 2nd computer

Bought Snow Leopard, loaded onto MacBook & IMac so I could upgrade to Lion (need to get out of the failed Mobile Me set up).  Loaded Lion onto Mac Book, attempted to load it onto IMac through App Store.  In "Purchased" list it says "an error has occurred" next to what used to be the "Install" button.  Lion icon shows up on dock with "Waiting..." above it.  Seems stuck.  Went back out, rebooted, tried again, same thing.  It's going nowhere.  Please help!!

Have you already installed Lion on the MacBook? If not, you can copy the Lion Installer from the MacBook's Apps folder to the iMac over your LAN. If you have already installed Lion on the MacBook the Installer will have disappeared, but if you continue to have download issues on the iMac you can use the Option key method to download the Installer to the MacBook again and then copy it over to the iMac.

  • Mountain Lion won't install on my computer?!

Are you kidding me? All the hype and long wait - the day finally arrives and its not compatible with my computer? FANTASTIC!!!
So is it safe to assume that I'm never going to be able to upgrade my OS again? Was really looking forward to it.
Way to go Apple. First time I've ever had anything negative to say about the company - this is just bull.
    Very dissatisfied.

Lion is still a valid, OS.
You're not going to like this answer, but you can always get a new Mac if your computer is not up to par with your expectations.
Although you feel like you have lost, I think that a lot of other people might want to buy your computer and then you could potentially get a new one.
And if not a new one, there are a lot of websites that will connect you with people who may be selling their newer (supported) Apple Computer for a reasonable price. Although you do run the risk of scams.

  • Mountain Lion won't install on 10.7.4. Suggestion from Apple is to completely erase harddisk and install Leopard Snow Leopard Mountain Lion. Is there no other way to install Mountain Lion

Mountain Lion won't install on 10.7.4. Suggestion from Apple is to completely erase the harddisk and install Leopard > Snow Leopard > Mountain Lion.
Is there no other way to install Mountain Lion?

I tried and failed for several hours to install Mountain Lion, and was repeatedly getting the "Recovery System" cannot be created error.  I tried all the tricks: resizing the drive partition, booting from an external boot drive, all to no avail.  After reading other users struggling with the same issue, I had determined it to be a boot camp drive error.  However, I didn't want to have to erase and begin anew when I came upon a possible solution.  I had long ago renamed my boot camp drive with a "." (".windows" for me) in order to avoid having the partition show up on my desktop.  So, I boot into windows and renamed the c: drive without the "." ("windows"), and reboot into os x.  The install then went off without a hitch.  I hope this will be helpful for others struggling with this issue that may have renamed their boot camp drives in a similar manner.

  • IPod Touch won't install on my computer, works on my brothers perfectly.

My problem is that my iPod won't install on my computer. What happens is that I will connect my iPod and then I get the Hardware installation wizard pop up and it says "An error occurred during the installation of this device. The system can not find the Hardware specified". I'm thinking the problem may be my computer because i tried it on my brother's computer and it works perfectly but on mine which is (Microsoft Windows XP-Windows 7 Viena) It wont work. I've tried restarting, resetting my iPod, putting it in UFC or w.e that is and other options I don't know what else to do please contact me ASAP.
P.S. If I don't click "Finish" on the Hardware Wizard my iPod will sync and connect to iTunes just fine but if I click Finish it will disconnect and the process will start all over again.

I have also tried restarting the iPod and reconnect it again, but still no sign.

  • Itunes 10.2.2 won't install on my computer. I have tried everything in the support list already, please help

itunes 10.2.2 won't install on my computer. I have tried everything in the support list already, removed all apple files, quicktime, itunes(older version) from the software lists. re-starterd computer, new installations, nothing will help. I have an ipad and an ipod but I can't use it anylonger because my computer refused to install itunes 10.2.2. Please help

This procedure might work or might not work:
Uninstall iTunes according to Apple's directions here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
Download the free Ccleaner and repair your Registry
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
Then download/install iTunes again from the Apple website
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/
Your iTunes content will not be removed,
Please regularly backup your iTunes content to external medium (hard drive, cd/dvd's) using the File>Backup Library in iTunes. Apple will not reissue new copies of content.
(Notice: this post is a copy/paste in a hope that a uninstall/reinstall and repair of your Registry may solve your particular issue, Windows issues are particular difficult to resolve due to multiple factors, so my advice is to be taken into advisement with others recommendations which may be more specific or experienced in resolving your issue. New iMac 10.7.1 Lion won't install Flash?

In the Utilities folder do you have an application called Adobe Flash Plyer Install Manager? If so, run that to remove all traces of Flash and then try re-downloading and installing from: http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer
As an aside, any reason why you haven't updated from 10.7.1 to 10.7.5 as the latest version of Lion includes numerous bug fixes.

Currently you will want to download and install from a second computer.  You can download and install the trial for many of the products and then choose the License this Product and enter your Creative Cloud Adobe ID.  But this is not true for all products available within the Creative Cloud.

  • OS X Lion won't install on my MacBook Pro

My hard drive crashed so I replaced it with a Western Digital 500 gb drive. I formatted the disk through disk utility and then began the process of downloading OS X Lion in internet recovery. I have my laptop on an ethernet cable. The estimated time remaining will say anything from 12-15 hours remaining despite any progress shown on the bar. I left my computer alone for over 40 hours, it was slowly downloading all this time. It had but a half centimeter left of the progress bar when a window popped up saying the additional components could not be downloaded. Why is this happening and what can I do?

I was able to make a bootable installer on a flashdrive for mavericks and it won't install that way either. It says my new hard drive needs to be repaired but disk utility can't repair it so I keep recreating a partition and nothing is working. Please help me

  • Mountain Lion Won't Install on Mac Mini (Late 2014)

My relatively new Mac Mini (Late 2014) is running Yosemite.
I have purchased Mountain Lion in order to run a favoured version of sound editing software which is not compatible with either Yosemite or Mavericks.
Attempts to download my purchased Mountain Lion from the App Store result in the following message "We could not complete your purchase. OSX Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer".
The 'Learn More' button takes me to the support article which states that Mountain Lion requires hardware of Mac Mini (Early 2009 or newer).
In terms of software, it requires that Lion is already installed.
My query is do I need to purchase Lion and install it before I can install Mountain Lion?
My concern with this is that Lion itself requires Snow Leopard itself installed on the machine!
    Cheers,
    Lou.

That is correct. Versions of OSX prior to Yosemite do not have the divers to support the 2104 Mac Mini.
You may be able to run ML as a virtual machine (VM) using a VT app like the free VirualBox and paid parallels.
However, you may not be able to get a copy of ML to install unless yo have another Mac that allows you to download the installer.

  • ITunes won't install on my computer, Windows 7 64 bit.

The computer is current on Windows update. I originally had iTunes installed and it worked fine, but would absolutely NOT update-- it would download the first 25.50 MB, then never finish downloading the rest of it, time out, and give me an error message. I just got an iPhone 5, so I can't connect my iPhone to my computer anyway, because it requires iTunes 10.7 to work.
After restarting and trying a variety of fixes to see if I could get it to work, I decided to uninstall iTunes AND ALL OTHER APPLE PRODUCTS, just to be safe, ran a complete hard drive check on both my main and secondary hard drives to make sure there were no errors, and try installing it again from scratch.
But now, the installer will download, but it won't install anything. If I double-click, or right click and hit Run as Administrator, it pulls up a dialog box briefly, then closes out. It will not run. It does not give an error, it just pops up a dialog box then closes without telling me anything. At all. I've deleted it, redownloaded it, restarted, verified that my computer is up to date at least 5 times, and it never, ever, works.
I just ran across another suggested fix that suggested I extract the files and try installing the individual components separately. When I tried doing that, I got this error message:
!   C:\Users\Chloe\Downloads\iTunes64Setup.exe: The archive is corrupt
So. What the **** is going on? I am downloading directly from Apple. If I could download the entire ~300+ MB file directly to see if it would work, I would, but I can't find it anywhere. I am really frustrated with how much time this has taken. Otherwise, my computer runs fine.
I've downloaded iTunes on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, I also tried deleting all cookies and temporary internet files in between installations. I've tried a lot of stuff. This is driving me absolutely bonkers.
Thanks for any help you've got.
I'd be happy to share any other computer information that might be pertinent, just ask.

    Hi sahgin,
The issue eventually resolved itself, I still don't really know why. I kept up with Windows update, and attempted downloading iTunes again from the Apple website, and it just... worked. It now works fine. I don't know why it took approximately 4 months to work, though.
I'm sorry I don't have any more helpful information. Posting here was my last resort, and clearly Apple never bothered to reply.

If you already converted the serial, it is listed on your Adobe account or you have a mail with the serial. Trying to use the redemption code a second time will not work.
