Liquid Data 8.1 installation problem
Liquid Data 8.1 installation on an existing WLP 8.1 installation is giving some
trouble. After the installation of LD 8.1 when I try starting the sample server,
it complains about the various ears not found etc. It complained that a folder
did not exist, even though the folder exists.
Does anybody have any idea why does that happen ?
Send the error messages to my email (you have it).

Liquid Data 8.5 aka AquaLogic DSP 2.0 Available
Liquid Data 8.5 aka AquaLogic DSP 2.0 is now available on the BEA site and can be downloaded via product AquaLogic links.
http://www.bea.com/framework.jsp?CNT=index.htm&FP=/content/products/aqualogic/data_services/
Documentation is also available from edocs (http://e-docs.bea.com/liquiddata/docs85/index.html with a link from the LD Start menu.
Mike ReicheHi Arun,
What do you mean by "keeping a copy of the sdo*.xml file in the DSP project".
Can you tell me how to avoid the error?
BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic is replaced by BEA AquaLogic Data Services Platform.
My project contains "urn:com-bea-ide:project.type:LiquidData", and there's LiquidDataControl.jar in the Library, so I guess it is developed by Liquid Data Control.
If I install BEA AquaLogic Data Services Platform, can the Platform recognize the project correctly?
As I can't find BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic installer now.
And can you simply explain to me that what's the relationship between ALDSP/Liquid Data for Weblogic and SDO?
Thanks very much! -

Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)
First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
(Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w, deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
and
then
I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)" from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
The values I filled for
1) Global Database Name : orcl
2) System Identifier : orcl
3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command. Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

Dear All,
I hope someone can help me here with EPM 11.1.2.1 installation problem on my notebook - Windows Server 2008 R2 x65, 8 GB RAM, running SQLServer 2008 Express.
I installed Hyperion Foundation. The installation and configuration went through successfully.
I am facing two problems:
Problem 1
When I try to access the workspace through the URL http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp, I get error:
Quote
Failure of server APACHE bridge:
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF.
End-quote
Problem 2
Also, the service "Hyperion EPM Server" service not able to start. When I try to start, I get error message:
Quote
The Hyperion EPMA Server service on Local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
End-quote
I tried checking everything but can't seem to figure out what's going wrong.
I have uploaded (1) EPM Config Manager screenshot (2) EPM System diagnostic report (3) EPM Registry editor output and (4) system services listing at
http://www.mediafire.com/?pr9l1v99w4d9u4r,c3vggxeibqkxbo2,lyzclu2aggbn8qh,8kur9gxal5b361z
It would be very grateful if someone can have a look and help me.
Many thanks in advance for any help / pointers / suggestions.
- NeilHi Pablo,
Thanks to your suggestion for database, problem #2 seem to be resolved. I am now able to start EPMA Service.

Installation problems in MSCS ORACLE 10.2 ECC 6.00
I am writing to report some unexpected installation problems. I am installing SAP ECC 6.00 in a MSCS cluster environment (Windows 2003 / Oracle 10.2) in our production environment and I am having problems during the installing the central instance phase. The sapinst_dev shows the following error: CJS-30102 Checking the database for installation type failed, Also the jsourcecheck.log shows the following error: com. sap. engine. frame. core. configuration. Configuration Exception: Error while connecting to DB and java. sql. SQLException: Excepción de E/S: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection at oracle. jdbc.driver. DatabaseError. throwSqlException (DatabaseError.java:112)
The database is currently running without any problem and all the services (SAP and Oracle) as well.
Following the installation guide, I performed the almost all the steps successfully:
Oracle RDBMS, patches and Oracle fail safe software on both nodes (successfully)
Install the central services instance for ABAP (ASCS) on the first MSCS node (successfully)
Install the central services instance (SCS) on the first MSCS node (successfully)
Cluster the first MSCS node (successfully)
Install the database instance on the first MSCS node (successfully)
Cluster the additional MSCS node (successfully)
Install an enqueue replication server(successfully)
Perform additional steps for the Oracle Fail Safe configuration (successfully)
Create the Oracle Fail Safe group (successfully)
Set up as shared database directory in your Oracle Home (successfully)
Add the Oracle database resource to the Fail Safe group (successfully)
install the central instance (Failed)
install at least one dialog instance (not installed yet)
As you can observe, I have performed the create oracle fail safe group activity first and then the install the central instance later. Reading the sap note 967121 today, I just realized that there is a wrong installation sequence; the sap note 967121 (actualized date: 17/OCT/07 ) says that you must install the central instance before you create the Oracle Fail Safe group. Is this sequence compulsory? Or can I continue the installation process?
If this sequence is compulsory do I have to reinstall all the predecessor activities or should I undo just the create oracle fail safe group activity?
Please let me know if the error which is showed in the installation of the central instance phase is because the wrong sequence or it is due to another reason.
Our cluster configuration is:

Database cluster group:

We have performed the mapping of the host names to the IP addresses on the windows host file already.
I would be very grateful if someone kindly can help me to solve this problem.
Best Regards
Boris RomeroHello Boris,
one of the main problems is that step
"Create the Oracle Fail Safe group (successfully)"
cannot be successful because you need to run configtool and change the secure store as described in installation guide. At this stage the configtool does not exists (documentation error for ECC6.0 guide), so the correct sequence is to install CI and cluster the DB, but not vice versa.
Which stage is the sapinst braking up?
Is this beginning, middle or end of installation?
Did you try to run configtool and modify secure store?

Liquid Data 8.5 aka AquaLogic DSP 2.0 is now available
Liquid Data 8.5 aka AquaLogic DSP 2.0 is now available on the BEA site and can be downloaded via product AquaLogic links.
http://www.bea.com/framework.jsp?CNT=index.htm&FP=/content/products/aqualogic/data_services/
Documentation is also available from edocs (http://e-docs.bea.com/liquiddata/docs85/index.html with a link from the LD Start menu.
Mike ReicheThere is a lot of conflicting and/or otherwise terrible info being posted as workarounds to getting the ae cs3 801 and 802 update to actually install. I have read everything from reinstalling the entire creative suite, to writing a custom script that disables the app running list in the config.xml. Hahaha what?! Tech support seems to need a week off...
Ok here's how to get it to install:
#1: go here and delete everything in it--> **user>appdata>local>temp>patcher** (this is in Vista...xp users will get there via c:\docs and settings...)
#2: install the update (it will fail
#3: go to **user>appdata>local>temp>patcher** again and you will see 2 new folders named PATCHER[some number here; ex: Patcher470]. Look in these for a folder named INSTALLER. Once you find it, double click on:
PatcherApplication
Voila- ae cs3 will now update to 8.0.2.
It's as easy as that. -
How can i Install Liquid data 1.0 on Solaris 10(x86) Machine
Hi,
I have installed Weblogic 8.1 SP2 on a Solaris 10 x86 Intel Architecture platform. Now I am trying to have BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic 8.1 SP2 also installed on this machine. I couldnot find Liquid Data for WebLogic 8.1 SP2 for Solaris 10, although there seems to be one available for Sun Solaris (8,9,32 bit).
Q1) I understand these are for SPARC and not x86 IA platform is that correct?
When i try to use this above file version to install on Solaris 10 i get the following error.
./liquiddata812_solaris1.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the JRE from the installer archive...
Unpacking the JRE...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
Launching installer...
./liquiddata812_solaris1.bin: /tmp/install.dir.1379/Solaris/resource/jre/bin/java: cannot execute
Q2) Is there a BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic 8.1 SP2 available that can be installed on Solaris (9 or 10) x86 IA.
Thanks
Sandeshhttp://edocs/liquiddata/docs81/install/prep.html#1039271
It is not supported on Solaris running on Intel.
btw - AquaLogic DSP (aka LD8.5) is the current version. It is not supported on Solaris running on Intel, either.

Im not sure why but i cant get any .pkg files to install properly. At some point in the installation the UI becomes totally un responsive and i get the spinning beachball of death. This happens for me with various pkg files, namely the iPhone SDK installer and the Onyx installer package?
Does anyone have any ideas?See my post with this same post date in the topic iLife '09 installation problems; run preflight script error for one possible cause of this behavior.
It also could be that you need to run the "Permissions Repair" option in Disk Utility's First Aid tab to correct some permission on a system file used during the installation procedure; that your drive's file system needs to be repaired with the "Repair Disk" option; or that the drive does not have adequate free space to complete the installation. (As a rule of thumb, try to leave 10 to 15% of the startup volume's capacity free, or at lease 5 GB over & above whatever the installer tells you is needed for the install itself.)
As a general rule, it is a good idea to quit all other applications before doing an installation that uses Apple's Installer.app, & it may be necessary to disconnect non-essential peripherals (everything except the keyboard, mouse, & monitor) & restart before doing so. You should also consider removing any hacks or uninstalling any third party "enhancers" that modify basic system behavior before doing installs, or at least making sure that the latest versions of such things are installed. (Some "enhancers," especially "Application Enhancer" -- a.k.a "APE"-- are installed by other third party products & their developers do not always make that clear, so do not assume one of these things is not on your Mac just because you have not installed it directly.) -

adriano.baYour 4MEM error code is indeed reporting to you that some of your RAM is not working properly (MEM = memory, i.e. RAM).
The fix for this (replacing the RAM) is normally covered under warranty for a computer as new as yours is. To get the free warranty repair I believe that you do need to bring your computer to an Apple-certified repair center, however. If you order the RAM and do it yourself, you will need to pay for the RAM and also go through the trouble of opening your computer to access the RAM, which is not that hard to do for some people, others prefer to have a technician do that.
I'd suggest that you have Apple do the RAM fix, if only so that the replacement RAM is covered as well going forward ... -
Installing Weblogic Liquid data on Solaris 10 x86
Hi,
I have a Solaris SunFire V65x server on which i have installed Solaris 10 (x86 IA) operating system. I was successfully able to install Weblogic 8.1 SP2 Server on this platform. However i am unable to install WebLogic Liquid Data 1.0 on this server.
Is there a way around ?The patches that are mentioned as requirements in the database installation guide are quite old and should all be included in the latest releases (u9 and u10), so you should be able to install oracle without access to OS support and patches. But I still want to strongly advise against this (for production). If you don't have a support subscription you may also not have a license to run solaris (you can download the software for free, but are only allowed to use it for 90 days) and even if it is possible to install and run Oracle right now, there might be a time when (db) support asks you to install certain OS patches.
So if this is for a proof of concept only, go ahead, but if you want to run this in production, better get support and licensing.
Bjoern -
I am trying to decide between upgrading Framemaker 8 to FM 10 or migrating to Madcap Flare. I need to produce both print and web outputs and most of the documents are structured. I have lots of legacy FM files.
I downloaded and installed Flare without problems but found that it does not have runin paragraph styles and some of the FM features that allow styles to cross columns.
I tried to install FM but got error messages. I downloaded the Adobe installer diagnostic tool and it said there were conflicting programs to the FM installation but was not specific on what they were. Basically I went down the same route and had the same problems as mentioned in a similar post about Robohelp installation problems:http://forums.adobe.com/message/3422315
Unlike Madcap, Adobe support is pretty difficult to contact and it has taken literally days to fix problems with other adobe programs.
I am using a 2011 Macbook Pro using Bootcamp Win 7 64 bit home version. I also have parallels installed and can run FM 8 on either system. Acrobat Pro X is installed.
Here is the error log (edited to remove redundant line breaks):

Regards,
AGHi all,
problem wes caused by shared folders for my virtual PC machine. I have to remove shared folders. -
. During installation of the Oracle BAM, the installation of the BAM ADC (Active Data Cache) failed with the following message "...You should install BAM ADC manually after this installation...". There is no instructions for the manual installation of the BAM ADC in the manual. How should I do this?
Can somebody help? Thanks - beeri Shani.Hi
It seems that I'm more dumber than all the other BAM installers because only me have these installation problems.
Anyway, I still don't understand, which connection to what URDB_NAME database should exist . In the Installation manual only repository database mentioned, BAM and BAM EL and BAM EL Samples schemas should be built there (and they was indeed)
Before installation repository database (orabam) was fully accessible, tablespace and schemas were built as required in the manual, tnspings was ok, sqlplus access was ok.
During the installation, while the installation window displays "Status: Creating ADC system objects. This will take a few minutes", the following message was displayed - "
Unable to check for existing ADC.
If you have an existing ADC, it must be upgraded manually after the install. If this is a new install, you must manually create a new ADC after the install.
Connection must be open for this operation
Questions:
1. What connection must be open?
2. Where can I get the instruction for manual creation of the ADC?
Thanks.
Leonid.
