Liquify Bug, PS CS6, Half-Baked Results (Repeatable)
Liquify mixes results from two different steps, and outputs them in a single file. Here are two examples.
Steps to repeat:
Open file in liquify. Perform liquification. (Extreme changes will slow the computer down and make it easier to repeat these results.)
Click "ok"
Wait while the computer processes the results. (Watch the progress bar.)
Before the progress bar reaches the end, click "cancel."
You are now returned to the liquify plugin. Click "restore all" to reset the image.
Make your new liquify changes.
Click OK, and let the computer finish processing the liquification this time.
As you can see, the blocks that completed processing from the first liquify pass have been saved, and are merged into the image from the second pass at liquification.

Hah. I was just screwing around when I ran into this. The performance on liquify in CS5 is abysmal (especially when it does that thing where it goes to my slowest drive for scratch disk) so when I got 6 beta installed I jumped in with a huge file and did something ridiculous and over-the-top just because I can. (Whee it's faaaaast!) Then I reset the image and did a more realistic adjustment, and that's how I bumped into the bug. Sure it's not a real workflow, and sure 99% of users will never see it, but this is a public beta after all. The whole point is to report issues, and some of us get a kick out of finding stuff.

Backport trunk rev 15228 to fix bug SDK-25731 - Clearing validation result (via 'errorString') prevents new validations.
I tried to do this with svn merge and it didn't work so I merged it by hand. The bug file seems to work correctly now.

I contacted Adobe in June 2013 about a problem with the stroke profile items. I was told that there would be an update available and no updates were available. Will this be fixed anytime soon? Is it fixed in CC? In my photo I show the same exact stroke with different profiles applied. I have yet to find any efficient work arounds. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks!

Logout/shutdown hangs half way through repeatedly
When I attempt to logout/restart on my iMac, most of the time all the visible apps close but then the desktop picture doesn't go away and the computer never completes the logout/restart process.
I am assuming (perhaps wrongly, since I don't know much) that there is a "hidden" app in the background that is still running and nixing logout. However, no error window or indicator appears. Is there a way to figure what is stopping this logout/restart process?
The issue is intermittent, making it tough to trouble shoot. However, it happens on both of our home iMacs, as well as 80% of the time on my work iMac. It never happened on any machine before the upgrade to Yosemite, so I am guessing it has something to do with Yosemite. But, to make it more confusing, it never occurs on my MPP that also runs Yosemite.
I've trashed the com.apple.finder.plist file, repaired permissions & restarted the computer multiple times but the issue persists.
More specifically, when logging out or attempting to shut down, all the visible apps close and my desktop goes blank (i.e., the hard drives and desktop icons all go away, except for the Dock, but the Desktop background picture itself remains unchanged), but the computer never finishes shutting down. Relaunching Finder does nothing, i.e. nothing happens after I give the command to relaunch. I can still open applications (except for Finder) via the Dock and they behave normally, with menu bars appearing at the top of the screen, but Finder never starts working and the hard drive icons never show up again on the desktop.
On one machine where we run multiple users (for the kids), sometimes it will happen for one of the users but not others. On the other machines where it repeatedly happens, there is only a single user.
It's not the end of the world to force a reboot with the hard power key most of the time, but it would be really nice to figure out why this is happening and fix it.Here are some logs.
Another potential clue: we have 6 user accounts on our home iMac. Repeatedly, with the forced reboots necessitated by this bug, two of the accounts are greyed out on the main login screen following a reboot. The names are there under the icons, but the icons no longer have the colored pictures that should be associated with them. In the past several months, intermittently these icons will be fixed and log in works fine (I have no idea why they get fixed occasionally and then rebreak with the forced reboots), but yesterdy my wife tried to login to her greyed out icon and it wouldn't accept her password and then went to a whole different error screen asking her to change her password, does the keyboard not work, etc. Does this help with the troubleshooting process?
Also, the issue occurs on my home and work iMacs running Yosemite. The work iMac only has one account so don't think the multiple accounts has anything to do with the problem per se.
And the issue does not occur on my old MPP 17" running a similar version of Yosemite, and it has 3 accounts.
This issue is starting to impair productivity both at home and work so would appreciate any advice anyone has. And our University "hates" Macs, so I don't want to give them any excuse to force us all to go to the PC World

Major features of Liquify Filter in CS6 are not working properly.

The Forward Warp, Magnify and Hand tools work okay, but the rest of them procuce the same strange effect of a jumbled combination of swirl and black on white dot patterns. ending with a circular "transparent" pattern. I have just installed after removing 5.5 and using the Adobe Cleaning Tool. There were multiple errors in the installation log file, which I saved. I'm running Win 7 fully patched and up to date. I have a Toshiba Tecra wiith 6GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon DH 6450M GPU.

There is a big bug in the CS6 , tiff file format have change, and when i generate a tiff file ( flaterned image with alpha layer) in photoshop CS6 or after effect CS6,
the alpha layer can not be used in indesign CS5, i need to open my tiff in photoshop CS5.5 and save it agin to get a working image.
If i open the image generate by CS6 ( photoshop or after) in photoshop (any version) or indesign CS6 alpha layer is working fine, but not in the previous version of indesign ....
If someone have an idea, a solution or a patch, it's can be a good help .....

MrYes, but photoshop CS5 and indesign CS5 work perfectly together ... Tiff create with PS CS5 was good for use in ID CS5 with alpha channel and was working fines... so it's was not really a big bug because it was working
But now, it's a big problem , because i've a lot of client that are working with indesign CS5 and i'm working with CS6...So when i delivre my images, they can't use it in ID .... Do you know a solution to export tiff images from AE or PS CS6 (with alpha channel) that are compatible with ID CS5 ?

This is a bug within the application code
1. double click on a css tag to bring up the editor window
2. in dreamweaver cs5 you could double click in a field to edit the content, such as margins or padding
3. In CS6, you have to first click in the field, it highlights with an outline, then you can double click to highlight the contents
This adds another un-necessary click to the workflow, an annoying bug when editing code all day

I edit the css files directly some of the time but sometimes it's nice to use the editor. I've files a bug report so hopefully this will be solved.
p.s. what a shame too that adobe STILL have old old old icons in Dreamweaver cs6 such as the bubble shapes and also no dark ui!Hi there, yes same here, that all works off me too.
It's when the editor is open... The actual fields such as font size, etc or in another section such as padding, margin etc where you enter the amount.
So for example if you have 50 top margin and 20 right and want to use the editor to change 50 to 70 you have to click in the field where 70 is then double click to select the 70.
Normally in every app or even on the Internet you can simply double click to select. You dont need to click then double click. Try it, you'll see what I mean
Of course, I do like you much of the time but then there are times when I'll use the editor. -

I have been doing some work on an audio project we have.
Part of this work involves coloring clips in a certain group.
Anyway, I colored all the clips and checked it out. Everything was fine.
I saved it, closed down AA and went back in, and... shock.... some of the clips had changed color!
It looks like a bug!
I tested it out a few times and changed clip colors and changed them back, saved, exited, etc, and... coming back in the clips had changed color.
Are you aware of this? Does it do the same for you?Its easy for me just to write the fx parameters down and insert them manually into cs6. Luckily they're just one or two track effects.
With CS6, the colors seem to be much less vibrant than 3.0 etc... So clip groups look less distinct. I have to got though anyway and change some colors here and there.
The other strange issue I am having with cs6 is that of clip volume..... but thats a separate post I made a few mins ago! -
Quick Mask bug in CS6, Mac OS X
I have the latest version of CS6 on my Mac, OS X 10.8.x. I have found a bug where Quick Mask is not always activated when you select it. Meaning, you select Quick Mask and the proper pen, color, etc., and it won't paint in the mask (default = red). It also doesn't appear to be actually /doing/ a mask either, so I don't think this is a display/driver issue.
Anyone else see this?There's nothing to screen-shot,

There's nothing to screen-shot, it just seems to randomly happen when I open a quick-mask and it doesn't work.
Do you trigger it via keyboard shortcut or the button in the Toolbox? -

I just update to photoshop cs6 (Mac 13.0.4). Unfortunately, it's not possible anymore to resize brush in the liquify filter by "CTRL-Option-drag" like I did before in former CS6 version.
Has anyone encountered the same problem ?

Bug report: Search application - vpd results

When I use the "Search application" to find text that appears in the Security Attributes->Database Session->Initialization code, I get two results
1) Attribute: Db Session Init Code (Identifies PL/SQL that is dynamically executed immediately after the user is authenticated and before any application logic is processed. This attribute can assign security policies to restrict access to database tables and views.)2) Attribute: Vpd (Deprecated. Use column DB_SESSION_INIT_CODE)>
I would only expect one.
Both open the Application Definition attribute instead of Security - which isn't a huge concern, but may be confusing to some.

I'm using Illustrator CS6 16.0.3 on Windows and have problem with eyedropper. When i hold shift and try to assign color from somewhere the foreground swatch is updated but the color of selected object itself stays the same. I work with photoreferences and it brings me a lot of discomfort so i'm planning to revert to CS5 until it's resolved.
I know that this is bug of the program itself and it was fixed on Mac several months ago with 16.0.4 update but the Windows update is still missing so the question is: when are we going to recieve this so much needed update?
Seriously, Adobe, you're failing me.I can ya'll exactly what's going on here, and yes, I think it's a dumb CS6 bug. Never happened to me before CS6. You might have noticed that sometimes the eyedropper tool works just fine and picks up the colors, and sometimes it doesn't. Here's the answer.
The eyedropper tool wont apply colors to groups of shapes, even if there is only one shape in that group. Don't ask me why, but that's the reason. Took me a while to find out. And it seems that if you use the shape building tool in any way it makes the object become a group... and then the eyedropper tool doesn't work properly again.
There are three basic temporary fixes:
- Go into your group and change elements individually
- Use the direct selection tool and select objects to color them individually
- "Ungroup" the object (even if it's only one object!) and eyedrop to your hearts content
They take a bit more time, but at least you can get the colors you want.

I have a Canon XH A1 HD Camcorder. I am recording at 1080i. I can import into imovie 08 just fine. However, 25 min. of footage makes my imovie file about 17 gigs and when I import project into idvd it take about 5 hrs. to create a video_ts folder. I
