Liquify info

Question

I use LIQUIFY frequently and know a little bit about it. However, there is much esoterica such as reconstruction techniques, etc., that i cannot understand.
Have searched youtube etc for videos with no luck, adobe help is of no help.
Anyone know where i can learn more about this filter.

Here are some tips from a fellow old guy:
When working on hi res images, Liquify works quicker if you make a marquee around the area prior to choosing the liquify command. This way it does not have to use the rest of the image in calculations.
If you will need to run the exact same liquify distortion on another layer or another file of the same pixel dimensions, you can save your mesh and load your mesh
Practice show backdrop, knowing how to use this will help you get your liquify distorted correctly by using one of your other layers as a template. Name your layers prior to using this will help. The major downfall of show backdrop is that the layer masks are turned off when using this feature, so you may have to cheat and make a duplicate of that layer and remove the mask.
Sorry but I dont use the reconstruction much, as with a large brush with low density and pressure (eg: 450 pixels , Density1, pressure 5) I get excellent results, and dont need to reconstruct ro freeze. You just need to work into your image slowly and choose the correct size brush. 99% of the time I use the warp tool, as for example even at the lowest setting the bulge tool goes too quickly (ok here I sometimes use the reconstruct toool to bring the image back closer to the original).
