Material Listing and Exclusion
Material Listing & Exclusion lets you control which materials specific customer may or may not buy. Exclusion is given preference over listing. The system will check the listing or exclusion for the sold to party first and if it finds, then no other check takes place, other wise it checks for payers listing & exclusion.
SPRO- IMG- SD- Basic Functions- Material Listing/Exclusion
Maintain Condition Table: select Customer & Material from the field catalog
Maintain Access Sequence: go to new entries, give 4-digit code. Select the 4-digit code and go to accesses and assign cond table to access sequence. Select access line item and go to fields and save.
Maintain Listing/Exclusion Condition Types:
Copy A001: for Listing, rename with descp
Copy B001: for Exclusion, rename with descp
Assign access sequence to the conditon type. Also mention valid from & to dates.
Procedure for maintaining Listing/Exclusion: go to new entry. Give 6-digit code and descp. Select the 6-digit code and go to control data and assign cond type.
Activate Listing/Exclusion by sales document type: Det Rule
Maintain Conditon Records: VB01. Maintain Customer, From, To, Material(s).

Lock objects are used to synchronize access to the same data by more than one program.
The lock mode controls whether several users can access data records at the same time. The lock mode can be assigned separately for each table in the lock object. When the lock is set, the corresponding lock entry is stored in the lock table of the system for each table.
There are three types of lock modes
1.Exclusive
2.Shared
3.Exclusive not cummulative
Exclusive lock: The locked data can only be displayed or edited by a single user. A request for another exclusive lock or for a shared lock is rejected.
Shared lock: More than one user can access the locked data at the same time in display mode. A request for another shared lock is accepted, even if it comes from another user. An exclusive lock is rejected.
Exclusive but not cumulative: Exclusive locks can be requested several times from the same transaction and are processed successively. In contrast, exclusive but not cumulative locks can be called only once from the same transaction. All other lock requests are rejected.

You can lock the table or record by using following types of locking:
1) Exclusive (E) the locked data can only be displayed or modified by single user i.e the owner of the object. Access to other users is denied.
2) Shared (S) several users can access the same record simultaneously, but only in display mode and except the first one, who has asked for the data in update mode.
3) Exclusive not cumulating (X) it is similar to exclusive lock. It allows only a single user access. E can be called several times from the same transaction. In contrast, a lock type X can be called only once during the transaction. Any other call for this lock is rejected.
Activation of Lock Object
1) When you activate the lock object, the functions are automatically generated. And these are ENQUEUE-EZN and DEQUEUE-EZN. EZN is name of the lock object.
2) While ENQUEUE is used in program to set the code over the selected data depending upon the lock object arguments. DEQUEUE is used to release the lock.

Inclusive and Exclusive Free Goods

Hello Folks,
I wish to get confirmation on the following understanding:
1. Free goods must be of the same material for Inclusive bonus quantity method.
2. For Exclusive method it can be either same or different material. Or must it be different material only?
3. In both inclusive and exclusive, free goods is shown as a separate item entry with the item category TANN, for example.

Please note as given below :
1. Free goods must be of the same material for Inclusive bonus quantity method : It is not mandatory , we can use same material or different material .
2. For Exclusive method it can be either same or different material. Or must it be different material only?: we can use same material or different material .

Actually there is. EXCLUSIVE and SHARED were once used for Oracle Parallel Server.
SHARED meant: allow both instances to function.
EXCLUSIVE meant: allow only the current instance to function.
That said
SHARED has been replaced by CLUSTER_DATABASE = TRUE
and EXCLUSIVE by CLUSTER_DATABASE = FALSE

I set material Listing and Exclusion procedure to a order type, the exclusion procedure is work well, but the listing procedure do nothing, actually I really don't know what the listing means. is it possible to limit only a group customers can create this kind of sales order ?

hi,
basically there are two things will be maintained by the organisation.
1. listing and
2.exclusion.
listing means where the items/materials are listed- represents the material available in the company.
exclusion- where the items/materials removed from the company's list.- material is not available in the organisation.
but in standard SAP, if u r maintained the same material for listing and as well as the exclusion, it considers only exclusion. in that case, u have to go to VB02, and remove the material/items from the exclusion list, so that it item will determines in the sales order while u r creating.
plz. assign those listing/exclusion procedure to ur standard document types. and maintain the condition record thru VB01.
i hope the concept of listing/exclusion will make you understand after u read this above information.

How to specify inclusion and exclusion rules for File data sources

This is the seed URL for a file data source: file://localhost/c:/myDir/
I want to exclude indexing and searching of files under: file://localhost/c:/myDir/obsolete/
What is the exact format for the exclusion URL?
I have tried both file://localhost/c:/myDir/obsolete/ and /myDir/obsolete/
but neither of it seems to work; it still indexes everything under /myDir/
Should I just put: /obsolete/ as the exclusion URL?
Also after initial crawling, if I change the inclusion and or exclusion rules and then run the crawler again, it should update the indexes accordingly. Is that right?
The version of UltraSearch I am using is 1.0.3.

Changing inclusion/exclusion rule does not affect files already crawled. It onyl
affects next crawling behavior.
To do any DML to existing data set, use SQL directly on wk$url table under the instance owner.

Linked Server to MS Access mdb file and exclusivity??

I've got an SQL database running on SQL Server 2008. From this server, I have a linked server to an Access database (access 2003).
In my database I have a stored procedure that I want to query the access database (linked server) and insert / update some rows in one of my SQL tables.
The linked server is setup without an ODBC DSN (though, I have tried it with one and still get the same results).
When I run the stored procedure RDP'd onto the sql server, it runs without issue. When I run the stored procedure from management studio from my machine, I get "It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its
data"
Unfortunately, this access mdb file is pulled from all over our organizatoin - a sin from a long time ago - but I do know that in both instances, the file is still in use by others.
My SQL Server and file server where the MDB file exists are both a member of the same domain. Also, the account the SQL Service runs under is a domain account as well.
Does this make any sense?

According to your description, when you create an linked server in SQL Server 64 bit to connect to the Access database 32bit , usually, the error 7399 and 7350 will occur. As other post, you need to install SQL Server 32bit. Or you can uninstall 32bit office
products and install 64bit Microsoft Access Database Engine. For creating Linked Server, if you run on a 64bit environment we need to download
Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable from Microsoft and install suitable version of software on the machine.

Is it possible to use fullscreen and exclusive mode with a jfilechooser?

is there a way to use them together? while in fullscreen exclusive mode the jfilechooser doesn't attach to fullscreen window and it halts the program.. I've tried setting the parent frame as the fullscreen frame but it's all glitched.. am I missing something?

Modify existing rebate condition and exclusion

Hi
We are rebate agreements for customers. Currently I want to modify rebate condition in one of rebate agreement.
Scenario: let us June 10th 2010 onwards, the rebate % is 3% for Profit center 'xxxx' & customer 'yyyy' instead of 1%. And 3% needs to accrued on billing docs going forward. How to set up this.
I tried to modify existing rebate condition using VBo2 as follows: went into rebate agreement using VBo2, changed rebate % for condition record with effective from 06/11/2010 and Saved. problem when I ran VBOF program, system posted reversal accrual for old rebate condition 1%. Old condition record validity from 01/01/2009 Valid to 12/31/2011.
I have one more question. We want to set up rebate condition for all materials exclude some of them. we have thousands of materials for which we need to calculate rebates. but we want to exclude some materials in the rebate agreement. How to set up such exclus

The key of your condition table (the one supporting your condition record in the agreement) is evidently Profit Center / Customer. So for any combination of profit center and customer, you can maintain a rate and validity period.
You are attempting to maintain two separate records having the same key. As you have experienced, the system does not allow it.
The simple solution is to expire that rebate agreement and start a new one with the updated validity period and conditions.
As for excluding certain materials, you need a more detailed key in your condition table. Something else from the material master seems appropriateu2014Commission Group for example. Maintain commissionable materials in group 01 and non-commissionable ones in group 02. Then a key combination of Commission Group / Profit Center / Customer would work well for you.

Two VMs and exclusive write access to one file

How can one guarentee exclusive write access to a file when two vms want to write to it?
I looked at

However, I am not sure whether a race condition could happen or not.
(I thinking like:
if file is not writable, change to writeable,
else if file is writable, wait for a while and check again.
write what you want
change file back to not writeable.
Is there some OS level exclusive access thing we can take advantage of? The follow up question would be, what about system crashes?

The problem with what you describe is that two JVMs
could discover the file is not writeable at the same
time, and then change it to writeable. You need some
sort of action which can only be successfully
completed by one JVM. Here's an idea:
Create a dummy file which represents a "lock" (only
one JVM may hold the lock). When a JVM wants the
lock, it attempts to delete the file. This can only
succeed for one JVM. Once you have the lock, you do
your business and then restore the file.http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/java/io/File.html#delete()
not bad. It's a false situation too.
However, deadlock can happen if the other VM goes down while the lock is taken.

one thing is cleared about the statastical indicator.
for exclusion in pricing:
its just as simple as its dictionary meaning. i will try to explain with example.
see you have in your pricing generally two Gross prices or various freight conditions.
now in the PO you chose either one and want the same to be printed or somthing on those lines.
here you want only one to be shown in pricing for which the price is maintained. lets say you always maintain one price for freight and dont want other to come in PO.
so here you create one exclusion group for the condition types and pricing schemas.
then you assign it to the conditions to be used.
then you maintain the condition record for the conditions.
now if you go in PO and create new one you will find that out of all the condition types only one is chosen for which condition record is maintained and all other are excluded.

Windows 2008 DHCP Server Address Range and Exclusion Range

Hi ,
I have a couple of Doubts regarding DHCp windows 2008 server
1) The DHCP server is given a static Ip in a network series eg(192.168.1.x) starting Ip is 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 ,
and if the range is from 192.168.1.10 to 1.250 ,
Should the DHCP server be not given an Ip in the DHCP range specified ?
ie the DHCP server static IP should not be in the 192.168.1.10-192.168.1.250 , ( I have given as 192.168.20.5)
Even though the Exclusion range can be specified , Just want to know if this is best practice.
2) And next setting up the range , should we give the entire network address as range ( eg 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254) and set exclusion range
or take a particular series (eg 192.168.10-100)

Your DHCP server range should update automatically to the 192.168.0.x subnet when you change your "Local IP address" to 192.168.0.1. Be sure to use a computer that is wired to your router when you do this. Also, be sure to click on "Save Settings", then wait (3 to 60 seconds) for the screen to refresh. You will likely be disconnected from the router when you do this. Do not worry about this. Power down the router and your computer.
Next, wait 30 seconds, then reboot router and computer. Your Local IP address and the DHCP server range should now have the same subnet.

User Menus and exclusions

Hi, I have the below SQL which is working great to show the responsibility, the menu linked to the responsibility and the sub menu name (if it begins with AZN) for active responsibilities.
Does anybody know how I can add/update/improve this query so that it takes in to account entries in "Menu Exclusions" (Found under Security > Responsibility > Define) in the ebusiness front end. I am not sure of the tables involved for "Menu Exclusions" and how I would link any exclusions there are to my query to filter the results. Thanks for any input.

WCS 5.1.64.0 and Exclusion Area in planner mode

I'm noticing in WCS 5.1.64.0 that I can set a exclusion area, and the planner will put a AP in that area. Does planner not pay attention to exclusion areas?

Have you resynchronised the network plan with your location appliance or MSE after creating the inclusion zone. If you have and that doesn't work it may be worth unassigning the network plan from the Loc Ap, resynching with WCSand then assigning the network planback to the Loc ap and resynch.
