List contents of exp file

hello
cud anyone tell me how to view contents of export .dmp file
regards
Kedar

Thanks.
My idea was to retrieve the contents of directory and then when the form loads; the contents of directory (only directorys, not files; hence i think i can use isDirectory to check) will be loaded into a listbox (DefaultListModal i supposed)
I ran it without any errors. The Listbox is loaded; but then the listbox reads
Java.lang.String;@1a7508a
What went wrong?

    I'm not able figure out why a conversion is taking place even though the same character set is used in 10G.
    I would be greatful to you guys if can suggest a way to avoid this conversion as i fear data will be affected kindly need your suggestions for the same and thank you.
    Regards
    Parikshit

    based on your nsl parameter settings, we can see that both databases use the same characterset. so, characterset conversion should not take place. the reason why you are facing these warnings is due to environment variables.
    you should set NLS_LANG environment variables both before exporting and importing. Then warnings should disappear. For example, in your case you can set NLS_LANG=.WE8ISO8859P1 (please note that I have omitted language and territory parts here)
    Try setting enviroment variables and then perform export and import again.

  • List content type columns don't show new names after resource files were changed

    Hello,
    we ran into a problem, that we're not able to figure out at the moment.
    We have a site collection with site columns and site content types defined and created with
    features ant their XML files. All display names are retrieved from resource files. We do have
    several subsites, that have predefined lists also created from features and their corresponding
    XML files. They use inherited versions of these site content types as list content types with
    their columns inherited from the site columns.
    We had some changes within the resource files and never ran into a problem up to now.
    We changed the display names of some of these columns within the resource files. After
    these changes the site columns, site content types and list columns show the changes
    as planned. Unfortunately the columns of the list content types do not display the changes.
    They still show the old name. If you try to alter the old names manually the new name is
    shown within the form, but you're not able to save it and the list content type columns
    still have their old name afterwards.
    We checked our definition files and they seemed to be well.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Markus
    List columns as defined within new the resource file:
    List content type columns, that do not show the changes from the new resource file:

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to modify the site column name in the list.
    I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
    You can modify the DisplayName in the Element.xml file.
    Then after you redeploy the project, the site column name will be changed in the list setting page.
    In addition, please check whether you create the list correctly.
    For more information, you can refer to

  • TDMS List Contents returns groups for previously opened file

    I get a directory listing of TDMS files, then loop through file by file, using TDMS List Contents to retreive the groups found in the particulare file.  I open each file, list its contents, and close it before opening and listing the next file.
    If a file has no groups, TDMS List Contents returns the group list from the previous file.
    How can I prevent this behavior?

    Unfortunately, the original VIs were developed on a Classified system, so I can't include them here.  However, I've created similar VIs that demonstrate the equivalent problem.
    Run the 'create files' VI to generate appropriate TDMS files, and the 'list contents' VI to demonstrate the issue.
    Note that these VI's were created in LabVIEW 9 SP1 (Version 9.0.1 32-bit).
    Thanks for taking a look it this!!

    Hi,
    you can try to use the:
    <b>ConsumerTreeListPreview</b>
    layout for KM navigation ivew (or customize to your own).
    This layout shows a folder tree on the left, a document list on the right. When you click on a document from the list it shows the contents of the file on the bottom of the iview.
    Hope this helps,

  • Selecting a list of files and creating a list of only the file names?

    Hopefully this is an easy question, one that I can't seem to figure out. I have a folder of photos and I would like to select all their file names and create a text list of just the file names. Every time I try I select the photos themselves and when pasted into my text document all of a sudden I have a lot of images. Any advice on how to do this? Thanks Jeff

    You're part way there. Do this in TextEdit. Open a new document, CMDSHIFTT to put it into plain text format, paste in the contents of your photo folder, and be surprised when only the names get pasted and not the images. If you want them in alphabetical order, change the photo folders view to list and click on the name column before copying.

  • How to write content of the file under folder

    Hi Experts,
    I have following scenario, I have list of files under folder in local desktop(for eg D:\mani)
    I have only filename, using this filename i want to search and get content of the particular file and write in some other location? how to do that? give your suggestions?
    Regards,
    P.Manivannan

    You could go two ways here:
    The first possibility requires that (a) you know what operating system you are working with, and (b) you only need to copy the file, and not do anything else with the contents of it. In this case, probably the easiest way to do this is to use a Runtime exec command for the file you want to copy:
    java.lang.Runtime.getRuntime().exec( "cp D:\mani D:\mani2" );Otherwise, if you need your code to be portable, you can't assume anything about the operating system. Since java.io.File doesn't provide a copy method, you will need to read the entire contents of the file into the vm, and then write them out to a new file. Also, if you need to use the contents of your file in some other way, as well, then you also need to read the entire contents into the vm. In this second case, how you read the file may depend on what kind of data the file contains.
    In general, the following code should work for you:
    final FileInputSteam  fis = new FileInputStream ( new File( "D:\mani"  ) );
    final FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream( new File( "D:\mani2" ) );
    final byte [] buf = new byte[ 1024 ];
    int bytesRead;
    while ( ( bytesRead = fis.read( buf ) ) != 0 )
        fos.write( buf, 0, bytesRead );Don't forget to catch or throw IOException.
    Hope this helps.

  • Table of contents in PDF files

    IBooks gives two options for displaying the Table of Contents for PDF files—thumbnails or a conventional table. The thumbnails view is useless to me, and I would like the conventional table view to appear by default. Unfortunately, the TOC almost always appears in thumbnails view, and I have to manually select the list view.
    Is there any way to set the list view as the default TOC view for PDF files?
    Thanks.

    Hi Michael,
    When you combine files into a single PDF, each file you include will have a bookmark in the Bookmarks panel in Acrobat/Reader. So, I suppose you could treat that as a Table of Contents. (It doesn't, however, create a separate TOC and append it to the file.) The bookmark names reflect the filename of each file you combined.
    I hope that answers your question.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Read the content of a file attached to a document

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to read the content of the file attached to the document and send in the body of the email. The original get stored in the KPRO server. Can anyone suggest how can i read the content of the file stored in the KPRO server. HTTp is used to save the file in KPRO server.
    thanks
    Papiya

    Dear Papiya,
    if I got your problem correctly you are looking for some report to get the originals files from the content server and then send it via e-mail?
    In this case the report DMS_KPRO_READ may be useful for you. You can start this report in transaction SE38. You just need to enter the document data and then all attached originals will be listed with the corresponding PHIO- and LOIO-ID. Further there is also a small grenn download button to get this file on your PC.
    Best regards,
    Christoph
    P.S.: Please reward points for useful information.

  • Searching content of .dmg files

    Is there any way to do a "contents" search in a .dmg file?
    I have several .dmg files, made with DiskUtility , encrypted, and then opened as a virtual disk, under Devices on my MacBook Air and used to store files.
    But I sometimes want to search the contents of those files. (I am doing all this when the file is open and listed under Devices)
    I can't get Spotlight to search it,  even when the following Apple's instructions on how to index folders or volumes, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2409.
    I also tried using direct instructions with the terminal using,
    sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/volume_name
    This one is particularly curious because it gives different results with different files. When I created a new test file it returned,
    Air:~ DAir$ sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/test1
    Password:
    /Volumes/test1:
              Indexing enabled.
    Even so, I still could not get spotlight or search in a finder window to reliably find any content.
    (sometimes if I opened, made a small alteration and then saved a file it would find content in that file, although not in any other files on the volume.)
    but when I use this same command with an older volume of the same sort it always returns the result, "indexing disabled"
    sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/Error12Codes
    /Volumes/Error12Codes:
              Indexing disabled.
    It can never find any content in these older files.
    Likewise, the program EasyFind will not find content on these volumes even when set to find "file contents"
    Can anyone help with this? How can I search the content of a .dmg volume?

    A test .dmg file that I just made does have .spotlight -V100 in it.
    Still it will not find a word in the contents of a file, unless I first open that file, make a small change in it, save it, and close it. Then it seems that it has indexed that file.
    In fact it would seem that when that happened it indexed all the files in that .dmg volume, and I can now find the contents of any file there.
    But the .dmg files that I made earlier do not have the .spotlight-v100 in them and spotlight will not find any contents.
    And still if I give the command "sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/Error12Codes" it returns
    "Indexing disabled"
    Putting these .dmg files into the privacy section of the Spotlight preferences and then removing them as Apple suggests, seems to have no effect.
    What is going on?

  • Search and replace, contents from excel file

    Hi
    I have the list in the excel file which needs to replace. The script should read the excel then replace to the opened InDesign documents.
    The excel(*.xls) file has two columns, first column has old nos. and the second column has the new numbers to replace.
    Ex:
    Column 1               Column 2
    (Search)               (Replace)
    4257/2          =>               1/2
    4257/3          =>               1/3
    4257/4          =>               1/4
    3257/2          =>               1/5
    3257/3          =>               1/6
    3257/4          =>               1/7
    4457/4          =>               2/2
    4457/5          =>               2/3
    4457/6          =>               2/4
    4457/7          =>               2/5
    Thanks in Advance,
    Thiru

    @csm_phil:
    this is a very radical method, because:
    1. you don't limit your changeGREP() to a specific table column (possibly the searched texts are found in other strings around the document and changed as well!)
    2. you are in trouble if a certain value you want to change exists more than one time (not likely, but who knows?) and you want to change it in diffrent values per instance. That will fail.
    If we deal with only ONE column of ONE table, to address issue 1 I would ask the user to select the column of the table and instead of:
    app.documents.item(0).changeGrep();
    I would use:
    app.selection[0].changeGrep();
    I don't hope issue 2 will apply in this case.
    @mr. pathi:
    However, in the case of only one column of one table to change AND if the new excel file contains ALL entries in the exact order (both all old and all new values), you could change the contents of the column by copying from excel to InDesign. No script necessary. The formatting of the old cells will be retained.
    You cannot do that by placing the new table to InDesign and copy/paste the new column to the old one, because the formatting of the copied column will be transferred as well (paste without formatting is not an option here).

  • How to read the contents of XML file from my java code

    All,
    I created an rtf report for one of my EBS reports. Now I want to email this report to several people. Using Tim's blog I implemented the email part. I am sending emails to myself based on the USERID logic.
    However I want to email to different people other then me. My email addresses are in the XML file.
    From the java program which sends the email, how can I read the fields from XML file. If any one has done this, Please point me to the right examples.
    Please let me know if there are any exmaples/BLOG's which explain how to do this(basically read the contents of XML file in the Java program).
    Thank You,
    Padma

    Ike,
    Do you have a sample. I am searched so much in this forum for samples. I looked on SAX Parser. I did not find any samples.
    Please help me.
    Thank you for your posting.
    Padma.

  • Reading parameters lists from a text file

    Hi All,
    Using CR XI R2 with VB6  and external .rpt files - - - - -
    In a VB6 app I use VB to loop through my tables to create dynamic parameter lists (CR XI is limited to the number of parameters it can create from the table). This works well but each time the user refreshes the report the same code is run to re-create the parameter list which is redundant and slows down the report(s).
    Is it possible to manually create a series of text files - say each morning - and then read the parameter lists from the text file(s) at runtime instead of doing it on the fly each time?
    Thanks in advance!
    Peter Tyler
    Geneva - Switzerland

    I find this sentence confusing:
    Is it possible to manually create a series of text files - say each morning - and then read the parameter lists from the text file(s) at runtime instead of doing it on the fly each time?
    Typically, runtime means on the fly - I think...
    So, I'm not sure if you are trying to read a saved data report and filter that saved data so that you do not have to hit the database(?).
    Creating a text file is beyond the support of this forum, though that should be a trivial exercise. Reading a text file and passing the results to a parameter is the same thing you are doing already, so I'm not sure where the hang up would be here(?)
    Or - rather than creating a text file, why not create a temp table and query it as you do when you loop through the tables to create dynamic parameter lists(?).
    I'm pretty lost here...
