I have been offered the Nokia N95i, and am interested in it, but was wondering what the key advantages and disadvantages/ issues with the phone is?
I have read some of the posts on here, and there seems to many to read, so if you could create a list, that would be a great help to me making my mind up on whether I want it or not.

Please understand that someone is trying to con you. If they've already tried to sell you a phone that doesn't exist, there's no reason why they wouldn't try the same thing again. You have every reason not to believe anything this person says.
I seriously doubt you will ever get a genuine Nokia phone out of them.

I am using Application1 using Oracle 10g Application Server and Oracle 10g database.
Now i planned to use Application2 using Oracle 10g AS and Oracle 10g DB
I need to know what will be the Advantages and Disadvantages if i have the schema for Application2 in the existing Oracle 10g DB / having it in another Oracle 10g DB Server

To start the list, for me some of the advantages are:
Same DB:
- less overhead and wasted CPU Cycles (therefore potentially lower license fees)
- easier maintenance (backup, recovery)
- easier tuning (fewer conflicting external environments asking for same resources)
- Oracle is designed for this, allows use of Resource Manager
- technically RAC is a clustered 'same DB'
Same AS:

I would like to list out the advantages and disadvantages of OIM 11g R2 over R1. Can you guys please help me in completing the list??
Advantages:
1. Shopping cart experience / request catalog model / interactive user interface
2. UI customisations made easy
3. Secure access to cloud, mobile and social networks
I am not sure of the disadvantages but heard that its a lenghty process (risky) to upgrade from R1 to R2.
Can any of you have ideas on the changes to workflows, provisioning and reconcilation and other procesess.

Advantages and disadvantages of Analytical function

Plz list out the advantages and disadvantages of normal queries and queries using analytical function (Performance wise)

I'm not sure how you wish to compare?
Analytical functions give you functionality that cannot otherwise be achieved easily in a lot of cases. They can introduce some performance degredation to a query but you have to compare on a query by query basis to determine if analytical functions or otherwise are the best solution for the issue. If it were as simple as saying that analytical functions are always slower than doing it without analytical functions, then Oracle wouldn't bother introducing them into the language.

There's a lot of debate out there on what the best smart phone is. Though I agree that the chosen phone would need to be based on your needs, I would say that the iphone would actually work well for about 90% of smart phone users. Here's why. There's nothing comparable to it. There's not a phone out there that can do all the things the iphone does without freezing up, force closing apps, and doing random ridiculous glitchy things. The closest competition out there would be an android phone (being totally infamous for the listed problems and more) and though there are even a few things Android can do that iphone can't, it's not worth the headache. I've never met someone who was dissatisfied with an iphone (because you can rely on quality from Apple), but I've spoke to many dissatisfied users of just about any other phone and I'm one of them.

Generally, with touch-screen phones you have the advantage of a bigger and responsive screen, which is really enloyable & user-friendly. But the main disadvantage is that you cannot type blindly (as previously mentioned) and the screen is usually full of stain ...

Advantages of XI:
XI is a middleware like many others. It is well suited for connecting SAP systems with each other and with non-SAP.If your focus is not on SAP systems, other solutions might be a better choice today. SAP XI provides an integrated workflow engine that allows to define adapters to non-XML-protocols and mappings to convert data content from source to target.
Any fully mature middleware should provide these three layers.
1. An independent Message Queue
2. A data consolidator and mapping engine
3. Workflow processor.
XI is lacking full-fledged Message Queue compared to other established Middleware products.
Currently, SAP XI does not have the features like IBM Websphere, Seeburger or TIBCO.
SAP's next XI release might provide this missing piece and many more features which is due 2007 i guess.
Here are the advantages of SAP XI from my point of view.There are lots of advantages but to list a few :
Easy Integration with SAP products & components (RFC, IDOC, Proxy).
Data security as expected from any SAP product.
Standards based - XML, XSD, Xpath etc
Ability to communicate with other messaging systems/products.
Business Process Management
Synchronous & Asynchronous communication possible.
Complex processes for communication possible instead of only sending and receiving (business process management) (connect e.g. asynchronous and synchronous steps, define complex communication scenarios)
Mapping etc possible to accomplish in Java. Platform independent Java components.
Java & .Net support.
Big range of adapters for different technologies / tools (SOAP, Mail, JDBC, CDIX...)available in standard or offered by other companies (EDI e.g. by Seeburger).
Process functionalities inside XI to modify content in the communication channel on own defined rules fpr business purposes.
Central monitoring for data communication for all your communication between different systems.
And the marketing issue: SAP and its partners provide high volume of development capabilities to make XI always up-to-date for new requirements

I just started flash animation and learning ActionScript. But
I found one thing that there existing ActionScript 1, 2, 3 versions
and ActionScript 2 components is using only ActionScript 2 code.

ActionScript 1.0 and 2.0 both run on the same virtual
machine (AVM1)
inside Flash Player. As of Flash Player 9, the player runtime
features two
virtual machines (AVM1 and AVM2), the second of which runs
ActionScript 3.0.
Right off the bat, this tells you that Flash Player 9 or
higher is required
if you want to program with ActionScript 3.0. In one sense,

introduced variable typing, which helped with code completion

of custom classes has become more strict. I personally find
that stricter

AS2 has
advantages over previous versions because it provides
numerous options and
improvement in ease of use. AS3 improves even further by
"cleaning up" the

In AS2, to create an instance of the Sound class (that is,
an object you
can use for programming audio), you simply use the "new"
keyword:

work with which
approach. In AS3, outside of a very small number of

For a newcomer, this is easier to learn because once the
technique is
understood, it works in nearly every scenario.
As far as performance is concerned, AS3 trumps AS2
significantly. AS3
performs better and faster than all previous versions of
ActionScript -- but
you'll only notice this with complex applications, especially
those
involving a high volume of number crunching.

Rather than asking for the advantages and disadvantages it will be helpful if u see why the functionality of having the purchase organisation centrally and decentralised has been provided in SAP. I hope u have seen the help file in ur SAP about purchase organisation.
The point u can note down which will be of importance is Each purchasing organization has its own info records and conditions for pricing. if u go for the centralised purchasing organisation say in company code u have three plants and purchasing organisation is for all theree plants, then the conditions and inforecords holds for all the thrre plants. If u go for the decentralised say for each plant different purchse organisation then each plant has its own inforecords and conditions. This is upto the business requirement which u should select.
Similarly u can use this logic for the following cases
Each purchasing organization has its own info records and conditions for pricing.
Each purchasing organization has its own vendor master data.
Each purchasing organization evaluates its own vendors using MM Vendor Evaluation.
Authorizations for processing purchasing transactions can be assigned to each purchasing organization.
All items of an external purchasing document, that is, request for quotation, purchase order, contract, or scheduling agreement, belong to a purchasing organization.
The purchasing organization is the highest level of aggregation (after the organizational unit "client") for purchasing statistics.
The purchasing organization serves as the selection criterion for lists of all purchasing documents.
Here u can apply the logic and see how centralised and decentralise purchasing organisation effects. Whethe u want the data should be applicable for all plants then go for centralised if not go for decenralised.
what is the best practice of selecting the puchasing organization.
I think there is no best practice as such and it depends on how u r company business works.

The best way i found was to put a equals and then double quotes... this only works for excel however it will allow you to cut and paste (ie to use the value to search in Oracle) and also to do vlookups.
In a bit more detail:
- I used word to generate my default table
- this created a field INVOICE_NUM
- in the cell in the table i put = " before the INVOICE_NUM field and then put the closing " afterwards.
The theory is that excel will concatenate the values together... because it has quotes around it, it will treat it as a string rather than simply a value.
For any other formats this will not work.
I'm guessing most people have moved on and resolved this some other way, but just thought I'd share the wealth!

Advantages and Disadvantages of Dual booting Windows on PXI Device

In solving my previous problem of running a DLL in RTOS I've stumbled upon another solution. But i wanted to know the pros and cons of this before i make the leap.
I want to install windows on the PXI device so that the NHR DLL files are run inherently on the windows kernel and i have access over my DAQ devices without placing them in the remote target.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of installing a windows only on the DAQ device and running all my operation from it. Do i loose my real time features? I dont know, I'm really new to LabView and may sound really dumb. Please excuse my lack of knowledge.

Thank you for your insightful answer. I also thought this might happen, loosing all the RT features.
I have another question for you. If i use a RT variant of windows like "Windows Embedded 8", will this make any difference? Can i regain my RT features by it or i have to go with the LabView RTOS.
I'm pushing towards a windows system because i have to run this DLL file from NHR which is not supported by the LabView RTOS.
Moreover, I could just install just windows onto the PXI controller. I'm not being able to make it dual boot. Can you guide me towards proper guideline to do so? I looked at the knowledge base file about dual booting, but the instructions dont exactly match with my available options in BIOS setup.
Any suggestions from anyone is much appreciated.

A view can be thought of as either a virtual table or a stored query. The data accessible through a view is not stored in the database as a distinct object. What is stored in the database is a SELECT statement. The result set of the SELECT statement forms

The advantages and disadvantages are primarily based on the light weight client and heavy client.
Excel -
1. It is heavy weight and needs a client installation
2. Analysis is easier , as excel functionalities can be used over BI data
3. People who know excel will like this
Web-
1. It is light weight and no installation needed at the client as browser will be available
2. Can not analyze the data from the report ( you need copy to excel)
In simple analysts and expert users like excel.
Users who just view the report and no more analysis will be happy with web.
