List of AS stack technologies?

One way to view AS is as a development platform loaded with technology and protocols for "web applications". I think this better describes AS for what it really is, hrmm.
What I'm looking for is a list of technologies (stuff) in AS - for a presentation I'm doing. Does such a list? :-)
(it would be nice to show an impressive list, a page filled with words, perhaps to show how massive it is in a very brief way)

Useless. What makes up Java is the JDK and the JRE - everything else is BUILT using Java technology. Imagine if you'd ask a list of everything that "makes up" C/C++, how long would that list be? Well the Java list might not be as long, but it is still long enough for you to not care.
Perhaps you want to be more specific. Do you want to have a list of all common web oriented frameworks perhaps?

  • How do you change the sort order of a Stack on the Dock in List view?

    I want to change the 'Date Added' sort in the list view mode of a stack from descending to ascending.
    I have the Downloads stack sorted by 'Date Added', however I would like to reverse the order of this sorting. When I open the stack, it shows the oldest files at the bottom and newest files at the top. Since there are many hundreds of files, the newest files are actually hidden and I must scroll up to access them. When I access this folder I want to see the most recent files first, at the bottom of the list nearest the stack icon, not the files I downloaded years ago.
    I prefer to use the traditional List view for Stacks because it is faster (no animations or loading preview icons) and easier to navigate visually. Please do not suggest a different view mode such as fan view or use-new-list-stack.

    Have you tried changing the list with the numbers? (See the screen shot)

  • Help! My Stacks subfolders no longer organize by date

    Hi all,
    Been running Snow Leopard for about 48hrs now and noticed my system has been a little more sluggish. Not too pleased about that, but I have a bigger problem: when I view the contents of a subfolder through Stacks it no longer organizes by date modified!
    In 10.5, I had my Stacks settings to show my items as a list, organized by Date Modified. This ensured that when I looked at the contents of any subfolder in the stack, the contents in the subfolder would all be listed by date (in addition to the main stack list being in date order). Now, when I choose Date Modified, it ONLY shows me the top-level contents of the stack in date order, and NOT the content of subfolders (the subfolder content appears in alphanumeric order). What gives? Apple, why would you remove this logic? Please tell me there is a setting in here somewhere...
    I'm really hoping I'm missing something here because this is a key component to my file organization.
    Thanks all!
    Mike

    This is my biggest issue with Snow Leopard so far. Sorting in subfolders in the Dock worked in Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, and Leopard (after 10.5.1 brought the feature back). What went wrong in Snow Leopard development to break it so annoyingly?
    Not being able to sort by kind in subfolders makes browsing through list/grid view stacks a real pain – in fact I'd be okay with it if the setting was stuck on 'by kind', so that folders would at least appear together; 'by name', on the other hand, is a very poor choice for almost any situation. Date Modified is of course another no-brainer in this regard.
    I wish I knew enough to have some idea where things might be broken . I really hope this is sorted out for 10.6.2.

  • How to achieve the "High Octane Stack" guitar tone?

    How can I achieve the "High Octane Stack" sound shown on the Logic Express 'Plug-Ins and Sounds' page?  ( http://www.apple.com/logicexpress/plug-ins.html - Listed under Metal Stacks)
    I've been trying for days and can't get anything remotely close.
    I'm running directly into a Presonus Firebox which is connected to my Mac via Firewire.

    Hi
    The sound is generated using a channel strip like this
    The Amp Designer is set:
    The EQ is set to Vintage within AmpDesigner
    The EQ Plugin is set:
    The Noisegate is:

  • Empty Weblogic Server 8.1 SP1 Repeating Stack Trace

    Thanks in advance for any help and attention!
              An instance of Weblogic 8.1 SP1 on our UAT environment keeps on spitting out stack traces even though the only user accessing WL is via the admin console. There are no applications deployed on this platform.
              The stack trace is also intermittent and can't be attributed to a specific action. This is occuring on our UAT environment and on a WL install which is a copy of our production environment. But we don't get these stack traces on production??

    What about Red Hat 7.2 ?
    I do not understand very well if this version has anything to do with the
    ones mentioned on supported platforms

    Campot,
    Unfortunately WLS 8.1 sp1 is not supported on RedHat 7.1
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/certifications/certs_810/overview.html#1043408
    should provide you more information on this.
    Thanks

  • Java memory management & stack overflow

    Hi
    I am building an application in java. It has to keep track of a lot of objects, typically about 100 000 or so. When putting them in a linked list, I get stack overflow. Is there som way of storing all these objects that wont result in SOF error?

    This app is practically screaming "DATABASE!". I suggest that you listen to it.

  • Switch stacking and Etherchannel

    Hi,
    on doing some research I came to a question which I cannot answer so far, when you stack 2 switches together you are effectivly creating a larger single switch (correct if otherwise), so when you connect two switches together via EtherChannel ports aren't you achieving the same thing ?
    Differences between these two situations needs clarification please.
    Thanks

    No, they are quite different.
    Etherchannel allows you to bundle multiple links into one logical link, is roughly somewhat like MLPPP or an ATM inverted mux.
    Stacking allows you to bundle multiple independent switches into one logical switch.
    You can use both, together, or not.
    Etherchannel now has also has an industry standard, LACP.  Stacking is very proprietary and may differ between different devices.  For example, you can stack original generation 3750s, StackWise, with later generation 3750s (E/X models) StackWisePlus, but both won't stack with 2960S, FlexStack, or later 2960 FlexStack-Plus series models, although FlexStack and FlexStack-Plus can stack together.  There's also StackWise-480 for the 3850, which I think only works between them.  There's also, other Cisco devices, VSS, which makes a pair like one, sort of a special dual stack, but interestingly, those use "ordinary" ports, often Etherchanneled, the other stacking technologies use special stacking ports (generally offering more bandwidth).

    13 errors

    Hello Centurian!
    I think u r new to Java, as the mistakes or the errors r very basic. Although i am not a good expert but still.....
    Any ways have a look what u have done.
    e.g
    U:\My Java\CS301\PileGame.java:23: incompatible types
    found : jm.util.Stack
    required: int
    top1 = pile1;
    ^
    U:\My Java\CS301\PileGame.java:24: incompatible types
    found : jm.util.Stack
    required: int
    top2 = pile2;
    ^
    these errors r in the move() method in the following statements ...
    //Sets top of each pile to int
    top1 = pile1;
    top2 = pile2;Here i think u wanted to get the top of stack, then u have to use.
    top1 = pile1.size();
    top2 = pile2.size();
    As u need the integer value representing the size of stack not the stack itself.
    Similarly for the other errors u just need a look on the api docs for stack.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/util/Stack.html
    The push(object o) method of stack is used to fill the stack, u have to specify the value which u want to add on the stack top.
    Any ways i think now u should try it yourself to improve... Another important thing that u should use pile1.push(list1.); instead of pile1.push(list1); in the for loop for initialization. As u need the value at i-th location of the list but not the whole list at each stack value .....
    I hope this will help u to improve.

  • SP stack detail

    Dear all:
    <p>
    Anybody can tell me where I can find detail list of SP Stack
    <P>
    In other word, I need to know this stack fix what's problem or issue??

    Hi,
    I fear you need to check every note of every part of the Support Package Stack for the fixes and patches...
    Never seen one list comprising all fixes of one stack... would be pretty long though...
    Hth,
    Michael

    Check the property names for configuring TopLink's internal connection pool. All of the JDBC property names should be prefixed with toplink.
    Refer to the TopLink JPA extensions guide for more information.

  • Disc image alias don't work in dock

    I recently 'upgraded' to mountain lion and since then my dock shortcuts no longer work;
    I keep all of my personal files inside an encrypted sparse image then I have alias files for that drive and some of the folders within it stored on the local drive which I would then have in finder.
    This used to work perfectly well and if the volume wasn't mounted it would prompt me to do so.
    Now; it prompts me if the drive isn't mounted but then the links don't open their target folders, they work fine if I open the alias from within finder, shortcuts to physical drives and folders on physical drives still work fine when in the dock.
    nb; the folders within the sparse image can still be added to the dock as a stack but that doesn't solve the issue.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Thank you so much for the tip.  It worked, in a sense.  But I have several individual files I'd like to have aliases for.  If I drag each one to the dock, my dock would be cluttered with these aliases.  Prior to mountain lion, I was able to have a folder of aliases on my dock, in list form or stack form.  I can still do that with any files not in a sparsebundle.  But the files in my sparsebundle won't work in that alias folder.  They only work as you suggested, individually dragging each one to the dock.
    Is there any way to consolidate these aliases into one folder on the dock?
    Again, thank you very much for your time and attention.

  • Setting data type of an object at run time

    This is something of an advanced problem, so I hope there's
    someone out there who can speak to this. I apologize for the length
    of the post, I'm just trying to be clear about a rather unclear
    conundrum. --
    We all use arrays to hold collections of things. As you know,
    an array is its self a type (Array) and so there is no way to
    declare, for instance, an array of MovieClips or an array of
    Strings. Heres what happens: lets pretend that we have 3 movie
    clips clip1_mc, clip2_mc, and clip3_mc, and an Array called
    anArray. so we can legally do this. anArray.push( clip1_mc );
    anArray.push( clip2_mc ); anArray.push( clip3_mc );. An array of
    size 3. Now the code: trace( typeof anArray[0] ); will output
    "object." This can be a problem. If you try this: var
    newClip:MovieClip = anArray[0]; you get a type mismatch from the
    compiler. "Found Object where MovieClip is required." It
    necessitates this: var newClip:MovieClip = MovieClip( anArray[0] );
    Bummer no?
    Ok. So fast forward. Lets assume a class List that uses an
    array to hold the items in the list. So the class uses the Array
    class in "composition." So you have methods like insert( ); and
    retrieve(). Retriece() returns an item from an index in the array.
    Because of the aforementioned problem, no matter what type the
    thing was going into the list it comes out with type Object because
    the retrieve function must return an item of some type, the only
    option is to declare the return type of the retrieve() function as
    Object. Lets say you know that this is a list of Strings. You could
    write the retrieve()'s code like: return String( returnItem ); And
    type the object "on the way out" .. but what if you want the list
    to work with any type object, you would have to have a variable to
    hold the desired type of objects in the list. And then as the
    objects are being returned, you'd cast them to the type stored in
    that variable. I guess that you'd pass the type to the constructor
    of the List: var aList:List = new List( "AddressCard" ); -- That
    should declare a List (Array) of AddressCards.
    Is there a way to do this? have the type specified in casting
    be dynamic?
    And the flip-side of that is detecting the name of the class
    of an object instance. The thing here would be to try to derive a
    String from the name of the constructor function. (which is always
    the class name) In actionscript 3 there is a service package--
    mx.util -- I think, that has a function to return the qualified
    class name of an object. But is there a jimmy rig for this in AS2?
    My actual project does not use an Array to implement List. (
    or Stack ) It uses a structure called a "linked list" - which is a
    whole other topic, but same problem as with Arrays is also present
    in the linked list versions and so requires the same solution. If
    one is willing to type things explicitly when assigning an item in
    the list to a variable of some type, this thing is quite excellent.
    But I don't like it. I have the package with docs, code, sample
    fla's, diagrams and everything that I would encourage people to
    download, look at, try and whatever and then come back here with
    any thoughts on it. There is a component with Flash professional
    that is a list like structure, but it's so general that it crosses
    the line into bloat. Ie: if you are using a list as a stack, you
    only need getTop() and pop() and push() not all the other (12 or
    so) methods in the class. Mine are patterned after structures from
    the C++ standard template library. And the code style is C++, but I
    think it's actually easier to read that way.

    Thanks in advance, for your efforts! I really appreciate all
    of it, helpful or not.

    First reactions:
    >>var newClip:MovieClip = MovieClip( anArray[0] );
    Even though you must use a cast to prevent the compile time
    error, you don't get an error on this line because the compiler
    skips typechecking for values accessed with the [] operator.
    >>Is there a way to do this? have the type specified in
    casting be dynamic?
    Nope. You must effectively type check all objects used
    through array elements yourself.

  • U410 Slow Shutdown on Windows 8

    I upgraded my brand new U410 to Windows 8, and immediately noticed that shutdown took more than 5 hours, at which point I would just kill it by holding down the power button. Can anyone suggest why this might be happening?

    hi Damjan_DD,
    Good to know that you found out which programs are causing your issue. My thoughts regarding the applications you listed:
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology -  Ok to be disabled if you don't use RAID since the driver is already loaded into HDD under the Device Manager
    Intel Capability Licensing Service Interface - Ok to be disabled, this is a component of the Intel Anti Theft Technology (service sold separately)
    Intel ME Service - ok to be disabled, this is the Intel Management Engine Service, although the software is disabled, the driver is already installed under the Device Manager. More info here.
    Intel Rapid Start Technology - ok to be disabled if you don't put the computer to sleep / hibernate.
    Intel Dynamic Application Loader Host Interface Service - ok to be disabled if you don't plan to encrypt your system- this is connected to the Intel ME Service - More info here.
    The computer shouldn't get any negative impact in disabling those applications above since you're just disabling the software service, the drivers are still intact.
    Hope this helps.
