List of Compatible DV Decks for FCP 5

I've seen a list on this site that lists all decks that are compatible with Final Cut Pro (each version). When I upgraded from FCP 4 to 5 the deck that I was using (JVC AG-DV 2000) was no longer recognized.
Anyway I've seen it, but cannot find it anylonger. Perhaps one of you has seen it and could direct me to it. Thanks so much in advance!

I'm having trouble getting the page to load but this is the correct address for it...

Prices have crashed. Look and you can find Samsung 128's and others for $89 sometimes.

  • A list of compatible digital camcorders for imovie 6.0.1 (255)

I'm looking for a list of camcorders that are compatible with imovie 6.0.1. I have a JVC GR-DVL9500U and it will intermittently work, what I mean is on a fresh install of the application and reset of the camera imovie will recognize the camcorder, the application will work with the camcorder for a few minutes then the application locks up and it forces me to do a hard restart with the power button, when the computer reboots the camcorder is no longer recognized. Does anyone have a list of supported camcorders or a solution to my problem?
    Thanks
2.3GHz Power Mac G5 Cheese Grater   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   mem 3GB, ATI Radeon 9650

Most camcorders which have a little FireWire/DV/i.Link connector are pretty much compatible with iMovie, although different models may have different quirks.
Long ago Apple said that it wouldn't or couldn't test every camcorder with every new release of iMovie, but the latest list of camcorders ..which is never complete or up-to-date, should be here, but - as you can see - it just leads to different manufacturers' own web-sites nowadays, as Apple just can't test every single cam which is on the market.
Apple's info and suggestions about getting camcorders to be recognised by iMovie is here.
Essentially, it involves trying every permutation of camera off, or camera on, before connecting to or starting iMovie ..or starting iMovie with the camera already connected and playing ..or not!
Things you might try include throwing away iMovie's Preferences ..i.e; a file called "com.apple.iMovie.plist" which is stored in <your user name>/Library/Preferences.
Dan's excellent "Unofficial iMovie FAQ" also has possible answers to this and many many more iMovie questions, here.

  • List of compatible BB OS for all devices

Hi, I'm looking for a list of the compatible BB OS's available for all BB devices. I can't find one on the BlackBerry websites but I did find one in a wikipedia, just not sure how accurate it is. Handy to have for the new PlayBook roll out since the 'bridge only works with OS 6 devices. Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Given the way device OS packages are rolled out, that list is hard to find. RIM releases OS packages to the carriers, who then in turn decide if they will release it to their users. Hence, it's the carriers that actually control the final release of OS packages. As such, the way the data currently exists is the other way around -- search by carrier, then device.
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
What you (and I, to be honest) want is one that you search first for device, and then (if applicable) by carrier. That list just does not exist. All attempts to make it exist have been manual. At the top (a sticky) of several of the device specific boards on this site, Xandrex tries to keep up to date that information...but it's difficult (and dependent on his free time to keep up with it).
    Good luck!

I have just found out I was using a Class 10 SanDisk microsdhc card, and am concerned that I may have done damage to my phone and/or music collection (as per Nokia guidelines). Is anyone able to tell me what the chances are that this will have damaged them, and if there's anything I can do to rectify? Thanks!

  • Is there a list of compatible TV sets for the new apple tv?

    I have a sony KV-32XBR40, the connection specs are HD/DVD IN (1080i, 480p, 480i)
I'd like to know if this is compatible with the apple tv, or if there are cables that could be used to connect the apple tv HDMI connector to this existing tv set.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions
You need an HD/HD ready tv with an HDMI port.
There are cables to change HDMI to other signal types but you may well have problems playing protected content.

  • Compatible AC Adaptors for G3 PowerBook 1999

    Based in U.K.
    Hi,
I've recently purchased a vintage G3 Lombard PowerBook and had to purchase an AC adaptor separately.
The system would not boot up at all and I went through all the troubleshooting with reseting and powering with the main battery removed but had to stop at powering without the keyboard attached.
I contacted the seller and they happily took the system back but (un)fortunately they managed to boot up fine straight away and emailed me photos of the boot up.
The thing I'm going for now is the fact that I've been sold an AC adaptor that's not compatible. I'm using an M4328 and the seller was using an older M4896 which did work. Does anyone have a good list of compatible AC Adaptors for G3 PowerBooks, especially the 1999 pre-firewire? Teh best list I could find (and my adaptor wasn;t on there) is at this site <http://www.laptopbits.co.uk/databasefiles/AppleAdaptors.htm>.
At a very long shot, is there anyone in Edinburgh in the UK who has a working Lomabard and wouldn;t mind meeting up for an hour or so to troubleshoot.
    Thanks,
    G3 PowerBook Lombard   Mac OS X (10.3.3)

    Hi baobhanjex,
I've had problems with power adapters for my Pismo 'Book. I was given an M4402 pack, which would allow my PowerBook to boot, but wouldn't charge the battery. It was a bizarre problem, which was caused by the pack itself being faulty. It was only outputting 26 Watts and the 'Book needs 45W minimum. The eBay seller who supplied the machine replaced the adaptor and everything worked. Recently, I found an old Apple adaptor replacement program for the M4402 adaptor, which is unsafe and carries a risk of overheating. I applied, and was sent a new M7332 'yo-yo' adaptor, which is both useful and stylish.
What I'm saying is that most Apple adaptors are interchangeable. You can boot a Pismo with an old Duo adaptor as the voltage, amperage and plug are the same (usually). The best adaptors for the Lombard G3's are the M5159 or M7332, but beware - the M7332 exists in two forms, one for the pre-2001 machines and another for the G4 chipped 'Books. The key difference is the connector - the pre-2001 machines have a large plug, about the size of a phono plug, while the TiBoooks and later have a considerably smaller plug to fit the slimmer profile of the machine.
If you have no luck with the sellers, I'd recommend the following site:
    http://www.pbfanatic.co.uk
The owner is Uk-based, specialises in the G3 'Books, and supplied the machine I'm typing on. They sell plenty of adaptors, new and old, for most PowerBooks. Mention my name if you require their services.
    Hope this helps,
    Rob Johnson

  • List of compatible video cameras and codecs for iMovie 1.2.2 (iOS)?

Is there any official or unofficial list of compatible video cameras and video formats/codes published by anyone?
By the way, I successfully managed to import .mov (motion jpeg) from Panasonic DMC-FT1 to iMovie for iOS5. The AVCHD setting (.mts) does not work however.

Not that I've ever found. I tried to research on the Apple site before I bought it but found nothing.
I will say that SD cards are pretty universally compatible and I've not had an issue plugging htem into my iPad. So if your camera has an SD card, you should be good to go, and you can sync without running down the battery on your camera (I honestly never sync my camera with its cable since it does little more than kill the battery, I always do it just with the card, but everyone likes doing things differently)
What might be more helpful, search your camera manufacturer's information. It might be easier to find your camera company saying it's compatible iwth the CCK than it is to find a list of all cameras. Or maybe you can post your camera model here and maybe someone else has the same model and can tell you.

  • I have a Sony DCR -SR32 which does not appear in the list of compatible cameras for imovie '11. Does anyone know if there is way to import files from this camera ?

I have a Sony DCR-SR32 HDD video camera which does not appear in the list of compatible cameras for imovie '11. Does anyone know if there is way of importing video from this camera to imovie ?
    Thanks
    Pheona

    Greetings Pheona,
That appears to be a hard drive based camecorder.  Usually these mount on the desktop of your computer as a little white hard drive icon.  If you go inside you should be able to find the movie files the camera is saving.  See what format they are (the last 3 letters at the end of the file name is a good place to start).
You can drag the movie files from the camera hard drive to the computer to copy them.  Then convert them with a video file conversion program to a format iMovie can understand.
Try converting one of the files using a video file conversion program like Video Monkey: http://videomonkey.org/downloads/
In the "Convert to" drop down menu choose "DV" (Preferred), "Quicktime", or "MP4".  Then import the resulting file into iMovie and see if that works any better.
If that program can't convert the files you can try another file conversion program:

  • Compatible decks for cs3 windows? no device control ...

I recently purchased for my department (after much research, I thought) two dvd/dv decks for use with Premiere CS3...see below
JVC SR-DVM600EU 3-in-1 Digital Video Recorder
    http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/public/view_item_cat.php?catalogue_number=jvc_sr-dvm600eu
I have Vista and my colleague has XP so it was a chance to see if they'd work on both.
My research told me they'd work with any NLE but on both machines it asked for a A/VC tuner driver which was not supplied by manufacturer and the JVC help was non -existant.
So with the fun prospect of sending these decks back.. I have to find something else that is compatible. Here is all I could find that Adobe say but this is quite old..
    http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/decks.html
Does any one know anything that may help me purchase something????!
We cant continue to use cameras to capture or the avc converter to capture from DVD as it is making our rubbish cameras even rubbisher!
I would appreciate any help or advice from people who have attempted the same....

Does premiere cs3 supports these no matter what the operating system?
If so I may well invest..
Also is there a method simliar for device control when capturing from dvd? or any combined dv/dvd systems at all...this would be V useful. OR
Should I stick to the avc converter and use the software plug in like Pipeline ProVTR for this? Does that work for DVD players etc
    Any advice would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Clare

  • Where can I find a list of compatible videocameras for OSX Mountain Lion?

I need a list of compatible videocameras I can use with my Mac OSX Mountain Lion.  Can someone help me?  I have always used a Canon ZR 950, but I was told it would not work with this new iMac.  Is there an adaptor that would work with it?  I bought a Thunderbolt, but it would not connect it.

You may have a hard time finding a list of Mountain Lion compatible video cameras as it can depend on which video editing software you're using.

  • DVCPro decks and FCP 5.1

Are there any known issues with FCP v.5.1 and Panasonic DVCPro decks AJ-SD255. Specifically, batch digitizing and print/edit to tape?
    Thank you--
    2 x2.66 ghz dual-core intel xeon   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   1 gig 667 MHz

I don't know of any specific issues with this equipment but reading between the lines, I'm guessing you may have a problem?
This is a good workaround for curing your camera recognition problem with FCP (if that's what it is):
First, check that your Easy Setup / Timeline / Camera or Deck Settings are all exactly the same, then making sure your camera or deck is in VTR mode, try to capture again.
FCP uses a different form of QT than iMovie for capturing, so if the camera works in iMovie (or if it's listed in System Profiler) but not FCP, it obviously means your Mac can see the VTR but FCP can't, so you need to do this QuickTime fix.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301852
Follow the instructions carefully and you should have things running in no time - it's quite safe but you must Trash the Receipts AND re-install QT from the link provided.
If the Camera / Deck isn't recognised by iMovie or System Profiler, try resetting the Firewire Bus . . . Turn off the Mac and disconnect the power and all Firewire cables. Leave it for 30 mins then connect back up.
Still not working? Try a different Firewire cable.
Failing all this, try resetting the PMU (Power Management Unit). The method varies from machine to machine, so visit the Apple site and search for it in support.
Don't use iMovie for capturing - it doesn't give you a timecode and that's very important.
Let us know how you get on!
