List of cubes - olap2_aw_cube_measures

I am having set of cubes available in the AWM schemas. But when I query the table olapsys.olap2_aw_cube_measures the available cubes are not showing up even all the grants are there properly.

Check field TYP='I', and input timestamp=YYYYMMDDHHMMSS toYYYYMMDDHHMMSS,you can check all the cube which were loaded base on your timestamp.

Not able to get the list of cubes while creating connection in Universe

Hi Experts ,
While creating a new connection i am not able to see the list of info cubes in $INFOCUBE folder.however i am able to see the queries .
I done this to trobleshoot -
i run SE37
- enter the name of function module - BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_CUBES
- Press F8
- I got the new screen where i have three fields - cat_nam , cube_nam , cube_type and under table tab i see CUBES whose values is - 0 entries.
- What should i do now ??

Goto BI content in RSA1 and you will be able to see the list of Queries and Cubes related to the SD and FICO modules.

Cube not appearing in SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS list

HI Experts,
I could able to see a cube in a Quality ssytem through SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGN program to find the dimension to Fact ratio.
Now i have done som echanges to the cube(dropped certain fields from cube) and sent it to Quality system. Now my cube doesn't appear in the Infocube list to trace the Dimension to Fact ratio( I have loaded data).
Now i would like to Know.
1. When does this information get updated in a BW system and how( which SAP program or job does this work)?
2. Is there any possibility that after changes to a cube it would not appear in the list of Cubes?
3. does the progarm SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGN gives the list of all the cubes of a system or any limitation or any critteris to deliver that data?

Hello Ganesh,
This is because STATS has not been collected for the infocube. The program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGN read the stats to obtain fact dimension ration, unless the stats are avaiable and up-to-date this would not show accurate information.
Goto RSA1 --> find the cube --> right click and go to "manage" --> under the "Performance" tab click on "Refresh Statistics" button (use batch button, if cube is large.
Upon completion of above steps you should be able see the cube in the output of the program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGN .

Help trying to list measures from cube.

Hi all,
I'm trying to list measures from a cube using BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_MEASURES, but the name of the measures (MES_NAM) I get seems to be coded, and I haven't been able to find how to convert it to "the usual" name.
I must note that I don't know much about BW so accept my apologies if it seems that I don't know what I'm talking about ... because I don't ;).

In case anyone has a similar problem, what I was trying to do is get a list of cubes, get the queries associated with those cubes, get the characters and key figures associated with those queries, so I could upload a file to BW.
My solution was to get the chars and keyfigs related to the query using BAPI_CUBE_GETDETAIL, that would give me the tecnical name of the char/keyfig and then made a RFC that calls RSAR_INFOOBJECTS_GET_TEXTS to get the description of the char/keyfig.
I don't know if its the best way to do it, h*ll I don't know exactly what I'm doing...but as long as it works (for me)...:)

Abap program to list the status of BW infocubes

Hi experts,
I am an SAP BW consultant. My BW environment has around 20 cubes and dataloads are carried out every 2 hours. I need to write an ABAP program which when run anytime returns the list of all BW cubes which are reportable at that point in time.Similarly it should also list which cubes are not reportable.
Could you please tell me how I should approach the solution to this requirement.

IDT BICS Connection Slow Listing Infoareas

Hi,
We are having an issue when we create a BICS connection and trying to browse to select a query it takes a long time to list infoareas, cubes, and queries. Our environment is BO4 SP6P1 against SAP BW 7.3. When we use the search feature to find a query it never completes. Is anyone else seeing this? Does anyone know the workflow of servers that are used to list this information? Do the DSL service or Tomcat come into play?

Ranked lists
You can use the APPEND statement to create ranked lists in standard tables. To do this, create an empty table, and then use the statement:
APPEND <wa> TO <itab> SORTED BY <f>.
The new line is not added to the end of the internal table <itab>. Instead, the table is sorted by field <f> in descending order. The work area <wa> must be compatible with the line type of the internal table. You cannot use the SORTED BY addition with sorted tables.
When you use this technique, the internal table may only contain as many entries as you specified in the INITIAL SIZE parameter of the table declaration. This is an exception to the general rule, where internal tables can be extended dynamically. If you add more lines than specified, the last line is discarded. This is useful for creating ranked lists of limited length (for example "Top Ten"). You can use the APPEND statement to generate ranked lists containing up to 100 entries. When dealing with larger lists, it is advisable to sort tables normally for performance reasons.

The program inserts three lines into the internal table ITAB using the APPEND statement and the SORTED BY addition. The line with the smallest value for the field COL2 is deleted from the table, since the number of lines that can be appended is fixed through the INITIAL SIZE 2 addition in the DATA statement.
SQL query is used for the fetching data from different tables,while report painter is used to display the data in some format.

A very odd question about accessing cube via HTTP PUMP

hi there:
Everything was fine a couple of days ago when I used excel to connect to cube. Today, when I use excel -> from Other sources, I can select the AS database but can not see the cube at all... The odd thing is that if I choose to use Existing Connections
which contains the connection to the CUBE before, after put my user id and password, I am able to connect and navigate cube data.
There is a role for the AS database and myself has been granted as Full control ( administrator). I've also switched to SSMS and access cube over there directly, no issues at all.
Question: why excel is not allowing me to see the list of cubes for an AS database???

How have you setup permissions for the HTPP access. If e.g. IIS and SSAS running on different machines, the permissions settings are a little bit difficult. So may a different user is used and that one may don't have permissions to access the cube.

Report on sales order material

i am working in implementation project first time.We are implementing sd module in bi. We are working on the infocube 0sd_c03.I have to develop the reports on "*sales order material". As i am new kindly explain me what is procedure step by step

Hi Tushar,
1.Execute T-code RSA1, Under menu options on LHS, goto Metadata Repository.
You will find 2 windows adjacent to eachother.
Under "SAP Business Information Warehouse" window, Click on "Local Objects" under Heading Business Content.
After Selecting that, you will find a huge list of all the objects on RHS window such as KPI's,Infoarea,Application, info object catalog etc..
Click on "Infocube". (note:System may take time to display all list of cubes.)
You will find a list of all infocubes which are ready to use (out-of-the-box) from Business content.
Search for your cube ,use CTRL+F /Find option (give Sales cube or 0SD_C03 in search).
Click on the cube Sales cube :0SD_C03.
Now you will find all the details about this cube. Each and every data objects are dispayed.
Goto reports section, you will find a huge list of reports already built on your sales cube. There you will find the report 0sd_c03_Q0012.
If you need to know which key figs/characteristics/variables used in this query, then just click on that query, it will take you to a new screen displaying details about that query.
Once you gather all the details, then after Gap analysis, if you feel that, yes the standard out of the box report matches your requirement or it almost meets the requirement and if you need to do slight enhancements then you can go ahead in instaling this report and save a lot of time instead of starting from scratch.
To install this report, pre-requisites are- you should haveinstalled your cube, underlying DSO, transformation, all keyfigs, all chars, data source etc.
and then use T-code RSORBCT/you can use BI Content menu on LHS in RSA1 screen to install this report.
If pre-requisites are pending, you need to install all the objects first, you can use RSORBCT to install your cubes.
2. It is advisable to search the query you need in the business content, if the query matches the requirement, you save a lot of time in developing the query. If you didnt find the suiatable query in Busines content, then you need to develop it from scratch.

so when we run the query in bex query designer on cube 0sd_c03 by using 0sd_c03_Q0012 then what are things we have to take care. In rows and columns which chartersitic and key figures we have to put?
I hope the query 0sd_c03_Q0012 "sales order material" may meet your requirements. If its not then try to get what is missing in this. If you need to enhance by adding any new objects, then first install this query from Business content, and then modify this query as per your need. and then activate and it will be ready to use.
You can install any object as many times as possible from business content, its just the same as copy and paste.
So only business content can help you on first phase regarding your requirement, because SAP has developed these reports at standard level used world wide thoughout industry.
