We have environment of Hyper V 2008 R2 Sp1, Hyper V 2012 & Hyper V 2012 R2. I need to know if there is any site where MS publish list of recommended hotfix for these product and the list is regularly updated.

would be easier to use only one Version right ? so you would have all sexy 2012R2 Features on the complete Environment.

I would also look strongly at no antivirus as well, but if you do, here are the recommended exclusions and possible issues with Anti-Virus to look out for.

Big things to stay away from from a VM level too:
1. Do not have a set time when all VMs will kick off a scheduled full disk scan. This can create an I/O storm on your hosts as well as saturate the CPUs as well. Look for products or settings that allow for randomization of full disk scans on
the VMs or do not do full disk scans and only keep the real time scanners active on the VMs for incoming writes.
2. Watch for Antivirus products that update all the VMs at the same time. Again, sometimes you can randomize or exclude a scheduled full disk scan, but sometimes an automated update that kicks off say at 12am can then automatically kick off a
mini scan. This can also create disk I/O and CPU storms.
The problem that still exists with many Antivirus products today is that they try to scan as fast as they can and then get out of the way. This works ok for endpoint desktops or laptops, but when you have 50 or more VMs on a host all ramping up trying
to get done as quick as they can, then this can cause some issues.

As you all know the popup location is appearing outside the grid panel when u place ajax autocomplete ajax component inside grid panel/ table / group panel .
i wonder when the hotfixes for this will be ready or is there any workaround?

i have a autocomplete textfield under groupPanel and this groupPanel is located under gridPanel
and the resultiing popup list is located outside the panel itself.

We are implementing EMC networker backup on HyperV 2012. When backup stat the server stop randomly.
Based on the event logged on server after log check the following was found :

The defunct process is the CLUSVC.exe which is the cluster service.
EMC support checked further for a fix for this issue, and found that it’s a reported issue with Hyper-V and this following article has the hotfix patch for 2008 R2: KB 2135160
Now stuck for solution for Hyper 2012, is there any hotfix available?

Are there any documenting or reporting tools for Hyper-V 2008 R2? I just need to get a list of all VM guest running and their associated VHD files along with where those VHD's are stored.

Thanks, we are at the start of an upgrade from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2. Just needed an easier way to pull information about the current environment like what location each VHD for each VM is located and if there are any snap shots saved, etc.
Just planning ahead to help make the migration easier. The current environment is a mixture of CSV's and direct LUN's. So it should be interesting when we start our migration planning.

I have searched however it seems to only be for CS6 so wondering if CVE-2014-0513 even applies to CS5?

Restore operations always fail in Hyper-V R2 Server in situations ( text copied from
KB2987585 page )
The primary database has its transaction log file (.ldf) stored on a disk that has "Bytes per Physical Sector" set as 512 bytes.
You take the transaction log backups of this database, and then you try to restore it by using the standby option on the secondary database.
The secondary database transaction log file (.ldf) is located on a VHDX disk that has "Bytes per Physical Sector" set as 4,096 bytes.
In this scenario, the restore operation fails and returns the following error message:
Error: 9004, Severity: 16, State: 6.
An error occurred while processing the log for database '<databasename>'. If possible, restore from backup. If a backup is not available, it might be necessary to rebuild the log.
After this error occurs, the secondary database goes into a suspect state.
So restore from Generation1 to Generation2 machine ( where only VHDX disk is possible ) always fails and database is not accessible.

How to get the list of values for a dynamic parameter using Web Services SDK?

I was not aware that this is not supported by Web Services SDK.</p><p>We used Web Services SDK to integrated the Crystal Reports in our web application. We implemented some basic actions for reports: schedule, view instances, run ad-hoc reports.</p><p>We encountered this problem when trying to run/schedule reports with dynamic parameters (a list of values from DB). List and table controls -> listbox..is that what you are thinking of?
The listbox presents the user with a list of options, and you can set it to only accept one selection at a time...Adding new data to the list can not be done directly by the user but if you make e.g. a text control and a button you can programatically insert new objects described in the text box when the button is pressed...(see example).
If you need more than one column you have the multicolumn listbox. If you want the users to write new entries directly yu can use a table and read selected cells using it's selection start property to read what cell has been selected.
