List of SA,Tables,Columns used in the reports
Hi Experts,
We have 5 dashboards and nearly 35 reports from different subject areas now we want to make a list in the excel which
subject areas,tables,column names ,formulas used in that columns as been used in the particular reports.
As we have complex reports so it is very hard to check manually is there any option to check all these.
Thanks,
Use catalog manager to build a report.
Open catalog then Select folder->Tools->Create Report
save it as .csv and open in spreadsheet
You may have to generate rpd doc since expressions are shared in report level and also in rpd level
Pls mark correct/helpful

In the above report first column and the last columns are fixed and the other columns are dynamic depending upon the input selection:
if input selection is Normal and RDO then only 2 columns w'd be created and the other 2 fixed columns.
Can anybody help me how do I design such report....
ThanksHi Developer life,
According to your description that you want to dynamically increase and decrease the numbers of the columns in the table, right?
As Jason A Long mentioned that we can use the matrix to do this and put the year field in the column group, amount fields(Numric values) in the details, add an filter to filter the data base on this column group, but if
the data in the DB not suitable to add to the matrix directly, you can use the unpivot function to turn the column name of year to a single row and then you can add it in the column group.
If there are too many columns in the column group, it will fit the page size automatically and display the extra columns in the next page.

If your still have any problem, please try to provide us more details information, such as the data structure in the DB and the table structure you are currently designing.
Any question, please feel free to let me know.

How do I create table of contents in the reports
Hi,
Can I create a table of contents in the report?
for example:
Name page
Jack ___________________________________25
Mat ____________________________________29
Please let me know.
Thanks,
RatnaHi!
I would try to use a (temporary) table with needed Columns for
output. Then fill this table using SRW.DO_SQL in a trigger.

Displaying the Row and Column number in the report
I am trying to show row and column number in the report (not just web preview). I am using Hyperion Reports Version 7.2.5.168
use a formula column/row. use RANK function in that. (e.g. Rank([A], asc) will sort the rows based on column A values in ascending order)
you can use this rank in your heading.
But frankly this is not so easy. You have to do it in a very intelligent way, so that rank gives you column number/row number any how.
Have a try and let see if you find a appropriate solution.

Best Way to Determine if a Table is used in a Report?
Hello,
I'm looking to modify an existing report developed by someone previously employed. I believe they are joining unneeded tables and I'd like to remove them. Is there a method that is useful to determine if a table/view is not being used in the report?
Just looking for any suggestions/advice on how to handle this.
Thanks,Hi Trey,
Try this.
In your report just goto field explorer ->database fields.
It will the command objects/tables that are added in your report.
If you want see which command object/table used in your report just expand those and check any of the fields belongs to the command objects contains a tick mark .
If there is a tick mark the fields that means the fields are using in that report. -
Materialized view not being used in the report
I have had a materialized view (MV) for a particular report. Recently, the report definition has changed little bit, so the existing MV is not being used by the report anymore. I copied the code Discoverer's SQL Inspection and recreated the materialized view. But still it is not working. Obviously, I am missing something at the database level. Does anyone have any idea? The database is 9i and Discoverer is 9.0.2. Thank you!
The SQL that you see from the Inspect SQL option will provide you with the SQL that Discoverer sends to the database. The database then may do a query rewrite to point to an available materialized view if available. This rewrite won't be seen from the inspect sql option. You need to check at the database level to verify if a query rewrite did in fact take place.
You may want to check the section titled "Query Rewrite with Materialized Views" from Ch1 - "Introduction to the Optimizer" in the Oracle9i Database Performance Tuning Guide and Reference, Release 2 (9.2), Part Number A96533-02, available at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96533/optimops.htm#37287

How to list all tables/stored procedures used by the report
All the reports i create are getting data from stored procedure(s). Is there a way to obtaining a listing of all the stored procedures without having to open report by report and check under Database > Set Datasource Location > Properties > Table Name?
Finding this info it would be extremely valuable, as it would help me to judge the impact of any changes that i might be considering to one or more of the stored proc.
So far i maintained a manual listing but it is not up-to-date and reliable. I would rather prefer to get an updated listing every time i want to change/drop a stored procedure.
Thanks so much for your help.
RickDell can you be a little bit more specific about the SDK solution. I could ask one of the developers to help me but i need to gather more details.
I took a look .rpt inspector Pro but it does not do what i need. All i need is the the listing of all the database tables (in my case stored procs) used in my reports. No need to replace or change anything. I need to scan the directory where i have all the reports for the different applications and get report names and table/stored procs used. i can export the txt file to excel and that's all. -
Hiding a column used in the custom view!
Hello! I would like to find out if there is any way to do the following: I have a view based on a table (Configuration Manager - Views). I specified to display 4 columns to show up in the View, so that we can modify the columns without going into the Database. In the "Default Display Expression" entry on the Info tab of the view, I've specified how these columns should be displayed on the UI. My problem: I don't want to display the fourth column on the UI at all, but I want this column to still be accessible by administrators via the view! Is it possible to specify somehow NOT to display this column, but still use it in the view? Thanks for the suggestions! Anya
Hello! I've actually created a separate view just to hide this fourth column, and we will be using this for the administration (relates to your point b). However, someone had asked not to use so many views! Do you know of any problems if several views are being used for the same table? In our case some tables have up to 3 views already. We use this view for the Metadata field, but the Metadata field is an option list (or controlled vocabulary in our terms). To enable more user-friendly selection, we are using DHTMLX Grid (dhtmlx.com) to display values in the View. The grid is displaying all columns from the view, by default! (Perhaps I need to check if I can somehow customize the Grid - however, I was hoping to do this from the View itself) Thanks!

How do I get text inside a table column to stretch the whole column width?
Hi I am using JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.0.2.
I have some tables where one of the columns are quite wide (700px) wide and some quite narrow 50px. It doesn´t look pretty. The input text inside the 50px column looks like it stretches out of the column and the inputtext in the 700px column leaves a big empty space in the right side of the column. What I had hoped for is columns which have the same padding to its content as a 100px column no matter the columns width. How do I do that? Do I have to use skinning?Well I don´t want the space on both sides of the input text to be that big either so that doesn´t solve the problem.

Enable Inputfield in the table column even though the column is empty
Dear Experts
How to enable or disable a table column(it is an inputfield) dynamically.
I done this and strugling to proceed from this point
DATA lr_container TYPE REF TO cl_wd_uielement_container.
DATA lr_table TYPE REF TO cl_wd_table.
DATA lr_view TYPE REF TO if_wd_view.
DATA lr_child TYPE REF TO cl_wd_uielement.
data : lr_col TYPE REF TO CL_WD_TABLE_COLUMN.
data : lr_inp TYPE REF TO cl_wd_input_field .
lr_container ?= view->get_element( 'ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER' ).
lt_children = lr_container->get_children( ).
CALL METHOD lr_container->get_child
EXPORTING
id = 'ITEMS_TABLE'
index = 1
RECEIVING
the_child = lr_child.
lr_table ?= lr_child.
CALL METHOD lr_table->get_column
EXPORTING
id = 'ZVPN_IT_INP'
index = '6'
receiving
the_column = lr_col.
Upto this the code is working fine as per the requirement .Now the thing is in that in column we r having an input field which should be enabled dynamically
Regards
ArunHi Arun.,
For enabling and disabiling any field on the view, there is only procedure.
1. Make an attribute of type 'ABAP_BOOL' in the context.
2. Bind the enable property of the UI element to this attribute.
3. Enable or Disable the UI element in the code.
So for your question you can follow :
1. Make an attribute 'ENABLE' in the context node bound to the table. Type ABAP BOOL.
2. Bind 'ENABLE' property of the desired input field with this attribute.
3. In WDDOMODIFYVIEW check your condition and based on the condition use set_attribute method of if_wd_context_node to change the value to 00 - None or 01 - Enabled.
I hope your question is answered. -

Hi,
I have used the sequence of BAPI calls as provided below.
BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION
BAPI_BUS2054_CHANGE_MULTI
BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT
BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
I would like to update some columns of PRPS table for specified WBS element, uploading data from an excel sheet.
I get the data from excel sheet to an internal table and pass to BAPI_BUS2054_CHANGE_MULTI row by row.
It's strange ! .it updates every column for all the row of data w.r.t WBS element But location field for first row data element get updated and rest ignored.
can you please suggest me why it happens so?
Thanks in advance.

Image in table column header to the right of the text?
Does anyone know how I can put an image on the right of the text in the table column header?
If I do column.setGraphic it positions image on the left, how can I change the position of the image?
For that matter how can I set alignment of the image? Like if I want it in the corner (even left corner will do) and not next to the text?
Appreciate any help !You can do this with CSS (needs an external stylesheet, can't be done (easily) with an inline style).
Something like
.table-view .column-header-background .label {
-fx-content-display: right ;
}(Untested... you may need to experiment a bit.)
The structure of the table view control from the css perspective is documented here: http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/scene/doc-files/cssref.html#tableview -
Getting the tables actively used in the schema
Hello,
We are in need of releasing space from the schema we use.
Can anyone please suggest how to find the tables that has not been used for a given amount of time. So that we can drop the tables which are not effectively used by the application..
Thanks and Regards.

Thanks for the replies ..
Actually the application was designed/created long back .. Lots of changes has been incorporated and lots of features has been removed from the application..
But in the backend the associated tables were not removed and we feel that it occupies huge space in the server ..
I am afraid i can enable auditing as it is a production instance and lots of formalities are involved if we have restart the server ..
Is there any other way to find out the tables which has not been touched, for a period of time ..
The project has been switched over to many people so there are no proper documentation available .. So we are forced to find some alternatives to identify the unused tables ..
Thanks,
Sathiya.What about using triggers and logging?
