• Cross-client customizing are not permitted

Hi,
I am trying to remove "Transformation Object" in BI 7.0, QA server, and it not allowe to me access, I have SAP_ALL access
I am getting this error messages:
"changes to repository or cross-client customizing are not permitted"
I know we can't change anyitng in QA its goes through Transport, but the problem is DEV system this objects didn't show and QA this objects shows, so I want to remove this bi object from QA system
I know while installation NW 2004s its post installation steps to not change objects
in SE06 I am trying to change these objects to modifible but still not allow to changeable
please help me out

Hi Angeline,
In transaction SCC4 double click the client on which you are working. There will be a setting "Changes to repository or cross-client customizing are not permitted." Modify this option to "Automatic recording of changes."
Making that will allow you to delete the object.
Make sure after you achieve your desired objective, you revert back the client settings to "Changes to repository or cross-client customizing are not permitted." Also revert back the settings in SE06 in QA to the original what you had in post installation.

• Error Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted

Hi
While creating infoset in SQ02 it is giving an error as "Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted"
I did change the SE06 system change options , software components modifiable.
And I also changed the objects changebility in transport connections in RSA1. But still it is giving the same error.....
Can you please let me know the solution?
Thanks

I'm assuming that you're creating a custom InfoCube query, so does it give you the option of creating as a Local Object (package $TMP) or one of your custom, transportable packages? Basically it's determining whether you want this InfoSet Query to be a Local Object or if you plan on transporting it throughout the landscape.
One other thing that I wanted to point out about security. SAP_ALL doesn't necessarily mean access to anything and everything. There are cases where the Authorizations assigned to an SAP_ALL Authorization Object don't necessarily have all of the correct assigned Activity for every transaction. Security, in your case, doesn't seem to be the problem because you're getting this request to assign a package.

• Field exit showing---not allowed to change cross client customizing

hi all ,
when im trying to activate field exit . Its showing---not allowed to change cross client customizing.
how to correct that.
thanks in advance.
sg

hi SG,
first and foremost thing while using field exit is, ask your basis person to include the parameter abap/fieldexit = Y in your instance profile.
Otherwise u can't use the field exits.

• Cross client customizing factory calander

Dear All,
I have been reported by PP consultant that he is unable to create factory calender on "sandbox system(100) without automatic recording". Then I have opened cross client customizing on my sandbox.
Now, I need change request of that cutomizing in my golden client(200).
Regards
Dharmendra

Dear ,
i think you wont be getting the Request for the same .
you need to configure the same directly in the "required Client" using Scal tcode .

• Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted

Hi All,
Transaction OB52 is a transportable activity, therefore we created maintenance view of table T001 which user can maintain in QAS and PRD servers.
In similar fashion, we created maintenance view of customized table, but on modifying it in QAS, prompts the subject error.
Any particular reason of why it is not appearing for the first maintenance view and why is it prompting to second maintenance view only.
I checked SCC4 and SE06 and found everything "Not modifiable"
Please advise.

This is the general manner of QAS and PRO client settings, Contact your BASIS admin to get more clarification on this.
And normally you have to make the changes in OB52 in DEv and transport to QAS and PRO, why you are trying to use this in dif mode?

• 'Changes to reposotory or cross client custimizing is not permitted'.

Hi,
I am trying to activate datasources at r/3 side.
I am getting message that 'Changes to reposotory or cross client custimizing is not permitted'.
I cant understand that why this is happening.
I feel that it is because of cleint is lock or not changeable.
So how to check that client is locked. OR how to resolve this problem.

Hi,
If you are trying to do this in R/3 production system, obviously you will get this messaage because most production systems are locked and no customization or chagnes are allowed. If you are getting this message in R/3 development system then you need to change the settings to allow customization. Use Transaction code SCC4, click on the pencil, click on continue, double click on the appropriate client, choose second option in changes and transports for client-specific objects. Now choose "Changes to reporsitory andd cross-client customizing allowed" from the first drop down list and save it.
Hope it will help.
Regards,
Rao.

• Client independent settings / crioss client

Hi all
How do i identify the clint independent/ cross client settings in sap ?
Any table ?
Regards
Swapnil
Edited by: swapnil kelkar on Nov 28, 2009 12:06 PM

Hi Swapnil,
Your question is wrong...as client independent and cross client both are same
Client dependant and cross client customizing are different
All client dependant changes will effect only working client, and all cross client changes will effects entire system.
All cross client setting get store in T* tables (ex"T000)....

• Cross Client Customzing - Define Printer

Hello all,
As far as I know, defining a new printer in SAP system is belonging to the cross-client customizing.
But one thing I am confusing about:
I choose 'No changes to Repository and cross-client costuming objs', however I still can create and delete printers.
Can somebody know what happened? If my understanding is wrong, please kindly let me know.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Tong Ning

Hi sir,
Related the configurations (SPAD--Printer) there is no cross client options or client specific options. You can use different printers at different or same locations based on your available resources and can use any printer either it is local/Remote. There is no such options for printer configurations. The options in SCC4 bare only for the foreign and program changes.
See the below links for detailed information and issues regarding the printer configurations.

HI Zeeshan,
Once u run the Tcode like SR13, the users would be able to enter the Tcode and have a new entry varinat created..but during SAVE the system would sure prompt the message... " Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not allowed. Please press DISPLAY or CANCEL" ..
so the changes would not be saved hence forth and have to be cancelled out..

Thanks in advance

Cross Client :
Under SAP Technical Systems, Cross client customizing will provide data to all the clients..hence it is applicable for all the repository objects under difeerent modules such as FI - Finance, CO - Accounting, MM - Material Management, SD - Sales and Distribution....
different clients such as 100 - Developing, 200 Testing, 300 - Quality, 400 - Production and 999 - Sand box......., the data can be trasnferred easily
i hope this information is useful to u...

• What is meant by cross client

hai
waht is meant by cross client while defining new table?
hav a nice time

Hi,
The changes that you make in the ABAP Workbench are placed in the Repository tables of the SAP database. The contents of these tables are known as Repository data or Repository objects. Apart from a few exceptions, the Repository data is cross-client. As with cross-client Customizing, changes to Repository objects affect all clients of an SAP System
Tables which are having MANDT field is called as client dependent tables. Tables which are not having MANDT field is called as client dependent tables.
Client independent
a table/object that is valid for all clients in a system. E.g table SCC4. This table will be the same no matter which client you view it from. If you try to make changes in SCC4, you'll get a popup with a warning that the table is cross client.
Client dependent
a table/object that is only valid for the client it is changed in. E.g the user tables USR*. You have to create users in each client.
Hope it helps. Please reward if useful.
Thanks & Regards
Sadhu Kishore
