I deleted the 4oD app from my iPad but it still appears in the list in Settings. How do I get rid of that? It is causing problems when they issue updates as it apparently thinks I still have it when I don't.

Can any one help me get rid of a deleted app 4oD that still appears in the Settings list. I deleted it from the home screen and Spotlight search confirms it has gone. It is causing problems because I get notified of updates and I cannot get rid of them either. Have you tried deleting the App within the Settings menu (rather than from the Home Screen)?
Settings>General>Usage>
From the Apps list, find the App (press "Show all Apps" if the app is not in the immediately shown list), tap on the app you wish to delete, then tap "Delete App"

I am having the same problem, only whenever I have tried to perform any iOs updates (from the computer using most up-to-date version of iTunes) my iPad gets an "unknown error" message & goes into Restore mode. I then have to use RecBoot to get it out of restore mode w/o losing any data. So far never have been able to update iOs, and can't do it wirelessly b/c option is not in settings panel...any other suggestions? Wasn't a big deal before, but now it really needs to be done or certain apps/functions won't work.

iPhone 6. How do I enable emoji keyboard in apps. It is listed in settings/general/keyboards under English but I see no where to turn it on or use it.

Make sure you first add the Emoji keyboard:
Settings/General/Keyboards/Add New Keyboard, then select the Emoji keyboard.
To use the Emoji keyboard, you access it anytime the on-screen keyboard pops up for use by tapping the smiley-face icon on the keyboard's bottom row, left-hand side. I believe iOS 7 & ealier don't use the smiley-face icon but an icon that looks like a globe.
To return to the normal keyboard after using the Emoji keyboard, tap on the globe icon on the bottom row, left-hand side.

Steps to take to resolve this issue:
1/ Turn off Wifi
2/ Ensure Mobile (cellular) data is on
3/ Turn iPhone OFF and then ON (re-boot iPhone)
4/ Without turning Wifi on, open an app that requires mobile (cellular) data.
5/ The app will now show on the Settings list with the option to enable or disable mobile (cellular) data
6/ In time all apps that require or use mobile data will be added to the list automatically.

Did you subscribe to iTunes match on your computer first. It must be set up on a computer? You must be running Windows Vista or Max OS X 10.7 in order to subscribe to iTunes Match.
I am not using this service so I haven't been through the process. Apple has a support article about how to subscribe, but I thought this one was pretty straight forward and informative as well. Take a look at this.

Is the "Item-level Permissions" in List Advanced Settings, a security option or is it a way to filter data for the user?
How does it work with the permission done on the item level when breaking inheritance with the list?

List of -Settings -Authorization

Dear Expert,
I have set No Authorizarions of Gross profit certain user. and set No-Authorizations form "Edit Document Tables" but at the time of in Sales Order find mode List of Order user can access Form settings and user can set List of Setting form open and add Gross Profit field in List of Settings Form.
How can I restrict List of Settings ?.

Go To Administration>>System inilitization>>authorization>>additional authorization creator>>
write "form setting" in Authorization -ID
write "form setting" in Name
level 1
parent ID without
display order First
click on edit
and write in top row "63771"
update...
Now go to general authorization >select user>>select user authorization in right side (in last)
select no authorization

Sadly, Apple does not provide many examples nor a clear explanation of the management levels. But this is a great reference and now it includes OS X payloads, despite the URL name. Sadly, not all profiles are listed yet but Apple seems to be revising the document.

List of settings in Bios , and Support emails

It would be great if MSI would release settings and setup types for the Motherboard.
And a list of what each one did and the outcome of using or changing a setting. Most we know,
but a few are new and we do not know how they where intended for use or setting.
Almost all of the Board books I have now come with a detailed setting list and what they do
and what you can gain or lose by changing a setting.
Heck it could be a text file we could download from here if they did not want all to have the file.
But it would make it nice for us and save lots of time.
Also does MSI ever answer support emails? I have sent 4 over the last month with no answer.
Is there a place to call or some where else we should contact for support. As they do not seem to answer from here.

Unfortunately most MoBo makers are a bit lazy writing a complete detailed bios setting manual explaining the outcome for differant settings.
Personally I don´t change anything I don´t understand what I´m changing.
Here you´ll find a general bios guide, that may explain some settings, not mentioned in MSi manual or bios menu.

Using JavaScript to create reports listing security settings

Hi...I'm trying to create an Acrobat 8 batch process using a JavaScript that creates a log/report that lists the security settings for each PDF in a directory. I want to be able to periodically run this script so that I can ensure that (a)each file uses the departmental permissions password and (b) that the set of permissions (copying not allowed etc.) are set according to our standard.
I've looked at the JavaScript reference etc. but am seriously confused. There's a securityhandler object but how can I use that (or something else) to get a list of the doc's security permissions and to check that password x has been used?

HT4972 my ipad3 doesn't have the wifi hotspot option in the list in settings

I have taken delivery of an iPad3 64G 4G.
In the list on the left in settings - there is no item for setting the iPad as a WiFi hotspot.
I went to a phone shop. They had a new iPad3 there with the same firmware settings etc. The option was in the list - I think the 3rd or 4th from the top.
Why hasn't my machine got this option? Supposed to be on ALL 3G and 4G machines as far as I know?

It's impossible for anyone here to be able to tell your carrier what they need to do to enable their own features. Call your carrier again and keep going up the ladder of support until you find someone who knows what "personal hotspot" or "tethering" means and who understand their own systems.
By the way, you replied to a thread that's been inactive for almost nine months now. That's usually not a good strategy for getting a quick reply. It's most often going to be more effective to start a new thread rather than replying to one that's quite old and inactive.

I have a ringtone that is not showing up in the voicemail list in settings?

I have a ringtone that I would like to have a as a ringtone when someone leaves a new voicemail message.
The ringtone is installed on the iphone. I can select it as a ringtone for phone calls in settings........ no problem.....
But when I go to settings on the iphone, the "new voicemail" ringtone option, the one ringtone that I want to use does not show up in the list.
All of my other ringtones are available accept the one I want to use? I have a total of 6 custom ringtones. 5 show up in "new Voicemail" drop down...

Here are the steps, from an Apple note. You said the eject key didn't work and there was nothing to drag to the trash ....
Try to eject discs using the F12 or eject key on the keyboard.
If the disc will not eject try dragging the disc icon to the trash.
If the disc will still not eject, holding down the trackpad or mouse button after restarting the computer should also eject a disc.
If the disc continues not to eject, reset the System Management Controller (SMC) and try steps 1-3 again.
If the disc still does not eject, for additional troubleshooting, evaluation, or service pleasecontact Apple, contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment with anApple Retail Store.
