List of Universal Audio Units

Hi everyone...
Does anyone know where I can find a list of Universal Audio Units plug-ins? (by universal I mean something that works with the new intel macs).
Thanks

Not sure what to say. Have the free version, installed it and GB found it. Perhaps contact East West support if you have a paid version...

  • Audio Unit Manager: How to remove references to deleted files?

I upgraded my NI software. Replaced Guitar Rig 4 with Guitar Rig 5.
Removed the Guitar Rig 4 components from both system and user Audio/Plugins/Components
    directories.
The now-removed plug-ins are still showing in Logic's Audio Unit Manager. Of course they fail validation,
and aren't used. But, leaves a messy listing, and causes other programs (Live, Kore) to also list them try to valid,
    and fail.
Any ideas on how to remove these references??

I would love to know this too. I have the worst plug in in the world ( Universal UVI Player) haging around my system although I removed it from all "visible' places.

  • Why are audio units not showing up?

I'm just about out of my mind with this one- I've downloaded a number of plugins, namely DCAM synth squad, Flux Stereo Tool and Magnus Ambience Reverb, but no matter what I do I can't get them to show up. They claim they're 64 bit so that shouldn't be a problem, and I can't get them to show up in either Logic X or Ableton Live 9. I've re-scanned all plug-ins in both DAWs, I've deleted my plugin cache and had them rescan that way, but nothing works. I can see the .component files in my library, but nothing I do will get either Logic or Live to recognize them. I can open synth squad in standalone mode so the plugins themselves are working, they just won't show up as inserts.
The Ambience reverb is even recognized by the audio units manager and it says its validated and an effect, but it doesn't show up when I look at the available plug-ins on my channel strips.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Flux Stereo Tool is only available as a 32bit AU version so that won't work in LPX (or Live9 in 64bit mode)
Note: 64bit floating point is not the same as 64bit AU Plugin..........
Magnus Ambience Reverb is available as a 64bit AU Plugin but only if you download that specific version.... (However, several people have reported it doesn't work for them in 64bit mode in any DAW anyhow, even with the correct version)
Mac OS X Magnus Ambience Reverb Universal 32-bit and 64-bit AU
..and according to the FXpansions website DCAM free version is only available as a 32bit AU plugin so that wont work with Logic Pro X (or Live 9 in 64bit mode)
    In summary:
In order for a plugin to work in Logic Pro X it must be a 64bit AU (AudioUnit) plugin.... not a 64bit VST.. or a 32bit AU Plugin...

  • Logic audio unit bridge unresponsive/gui doesn't show up properly

Hi there, having a problem running some 32 bit plugins while running logic in 64 bit mode.
For those who are familiar with the Audio Unit bridge, when clicking on a 32 bit plug-in it brings up this grey window which prompts another click to bring up the interface. When I click on here the GUI appears for a split second then disappears again or sometimes doesn't appear at all. Noteably, the plugins still allow audio through, it is just the interface won't appear.
After a while of having a project open, I have also experienced Logic giving me this message presumably due to the same problem:
It lists all the 32 bit plugins used within the project and says they are unavailable, crossing them out in the logic mixer and removing them from the audio unit manager.
I have tried removing the logic .plist file which allows the loading of the plugins again but not does not solve the problem of the unresponsive GUI.
Really lumbered by this one, any potential resolution much appreciated.
    Thanks
    A

this might be a graphic issue with my 2013 macbook pro retina 2.8gig
i went to preferences and changed the display type... the plugin then shows up. but left in any one of the modes, if i take out the plugin and recall it the same issues remain. Maybe my graphic card is failing

  • 3rd party plug-ins are not displayed in channel strip audio unit insert

I have successfully loaded several 3rd party plug-ins (Wave Masters and IK multimedia Studio Bundle) into my MacBook Pro. The files are shown in Library>Audio>Plug-ins>Components, in User>Downloads, and they appear in my Audio Unit Manager (for each the box is checked for access from Logic Pro). Yet, when I go to a channel strip to launch some of the plug-ins, the product does not show up under audio units. How do I get these plug-in files to the insert list for my audio channels? Unfortunately, I need to launch these plug-ins in order to authorize them with the vendor. I must be missing a key step, but I have not had this issue before with other 3rd party plug-ins. Thanks for any direction.

Also, I know in the case of my IK Multimedia Classic Studio Reverb, it will NOT be available from within my 3rd party plug-in list, on a MONO channel.
I need to be opening the list on a stereo track (or stereo Aux), in order to be able to select those plug-ins.
See if it's something that simple...

  • Logic Audio Unit Validater

I have loaded new waves audio unit plug-ins into Logic Pro 7.1, when they are authorized they have shown up doubled, the 5.2 versions. One group validates, the other crashed. Thus, every time Logic Pro 7.1 is loaded at start up it lists the bad plug-ins and you have to click ok to every unvalidated plug in before you can get Logic to full boot up. Is there a folder that you can delete from for the audio unit validater? Does any one have any ideas? Thanks

Launch the AUManager and deselect the bad ones?

  • "Failed to load Audio Unit" errors on opening project, but plugins actually load OK

I'm experiencing an issue where Logic Pro X will give an error saying "Failed to load Audio Unit" when loading a project, but when you actually click "Continue" and go on into the session the plugins are there and work fine - playback and bouncing all work fine, and the plugins were listed in the error dialogue all work fine.
    Some notes on the error:
    - it's happening on a range of different plugins on my system - ilok-protected plugins (Soundtoys, Slate among others), UAD plugins, and non-dongled plugins (Plugin Alliance stuff, among others)...
    - seems that as a project is worked on over time, at some point the error starts to happen on a save, and then becomes apparent on the next reload... it also translates between systems - a couple projects where this is occurring were started in a different studio (where the error first showed up), and working on them at my studio the error is still apparent.
    - also it seems like the error doesn't happen every time a project is loaded. If I'm launching Logic fresh and opening a project, the error will occur, but if I close and open another project and the come back to the first project again, the error won't show up on the first project anymore... but if I quit Logic and open that project again, it'll start happening again.
Has anyone else noticed this error?

Start Logic and hold the control key to disable the audio engine.
You should be able to load the project now, and disable the offending plugin. When done, turn the audio engine back on in the audio drivers preferences.

  • Looking for Audio Units

Good day to all and thank you for your time.
    _Can't get enough sounds!!!!_
I'm currently creating most of my projects with Logic's Sound Banks and Vienna Orch, however, they are starting to get boring. And knowing how expensive(expansive, too) these banks could get, does anyone know any spectacular sound banks that's worthwhile? (Looking into a lot of Eastwest ones right now, still contemplating..) How about outboard ones like a YAMAHA Motif rack? Mainly looking for drums and keys, please and thank you!!
Additionally, I now have a couple of projects near completion and I'm looking into digital solutions to my mixdown, so has anyone found any good mixing tools/Plug-ins(Audio Units) that are better than Logic's Factory Plug-ins? (Preferably with mastering capabilities as well. And I personally do think Space Designer is top notch! Just wanted to know if there're any better out there.)
As always, thanks in advance for all suggestions!
    One,
    Rex.

Native Instruments' Komplete bundle will provide a huge library of sounds:
KONTAKT 3 - sampler comes with 30GB of sounds on its own and it also provides the engine for MANY 3rd party sample libraries.
MASSIVE, ABSYNTH, FM8, PRO-53 - More synth sounds than you'll know what to do with
BATTERY 3 - drum sampler with a bunch of included drums, with the option of adding more
REAKTOR 5 - A modular synth, sampler, audio processing, etc... thing. You can create your own audio thingies if you dare take the time to learn how to, or just use the included thingies or download over 1,000 user-created thingies with your Native Instruments account. I can't say enough about Reaktor.
Additionally, I now have a couple of projects near completion and I'm looking into digital solutions to my mixdown, so has anyone found any good mixing tools/Plug-ins(Audio Units) that are better than Logic's Factory Plug-ins?
Many, many things. I like my Universal Audio UAD plugins, Sonnox, PSP Audioware. There are so many more.

  • What car audio units are compatible with the older CDX757MX 10 disk CD changer?

I would like to replace my car audio unit with one that can control the CDX757MX changer and also have an mp3 jack in the front. I know my current one is 10 years old. It still works but I want to still use the changer and also be able to plug in my mp3 player.
    Thanks John

I know this is a very old post but I have the same situation. I have two CD changers, the CDX757MX. I would like to buy a Sony stereo (used apparently) that will control 1 or both of them. I would really like to have a model with Bluetooth capability. Does such a stereo exist?
Could I please get a list of the compatible units for this changer?
    Thanks,

  • Audio Units Plugins (Source-Connect)

A Pro Tools user for about five years, I'm just trying out Garage Band for the first time. Are there are any Garage Band users here that use a plugin called 'Source-Connect?' If so, I could use some help figuring out why I can't see that plugin in the menu of all the others.
    Thanks!

Yep... the version I downloaded (Pro 3.5) says it's good to go with both VST AND Audio Units hosts (and Garage Band is in the list), but that's why I'm wondering why the plugin doesn't show up. I've emailed Source-Connect support... hopefully they'll be able to figure it out.
    Thanks!

  • Audio Unit Troubles

Hello everyone. I was moving some of my Logic Data around (I shouldn't have, I know, I learned my lesson) to a new external HD. Things went weird, so I reinstalled Logic 8 and everything is fine and smooth except my third party Audio Units (ie iDrum) are missing. I have Logic 8, and the units are nowhere to be found withing Logic. I did delete some stuff and I may have deleted them. My main concern is, for a drum pattern (that I created with an AU) is the pattern lost if I reinstall the Audio Unit? Is there a special place I can look for those or did I likely throw them away forever...?
    Thanks.

well try to go to preferences/ AudioUnits manager, then see if your missing plugins are listed and check them if they're not checked already.
I was having trouble finding my WAVES plugins for a while then i saw this menu and saw that the plugins were listed but just not checked, so i checked em, problem fixed.
this should be it, if you haven't already done this.

  • I can't see Massive as an Audio Unit plug-in after successful install

The Audio Units Manager shows Massive as "successfully validated", but when I click on an empty Insert, it doesn't list Massive anywhere as an plug-in.
    I am using:
    Mac OS X Version 10.6.8
    Massive 1.3.0 (R2050)
    Logic Pro 9.1.6
    All purchased legally.
    Please help!

    figured it out

  • How to make Garage Band rescan Audio Units...

Fianly found the solution to get Garage Band to rescan the audio units...
If GB finds a bad audio unit, it lists it as not compatable. If you fix the bug in the audio unit, Garage Band still refuses to load it. I have had this problem with Native Instrument devices like Kontakt. They developed a bug which was later resolved and GB would never list it as available after it was working. Bad news which others have experienced.
This solution worked for Garage Band 4.0, not sure if it is the same with earlier versions.
    SOLUTION:
    Remove file: com.apple.audiounits.cache
    In folder: ~/Library/Caches/
The "~" refers to your home folder name. If you remove this cache file, then launch Garage Band, it will rescan all audio units and test them for compatability and show all the accepted ones.
Whew... took me three days of looking, good luck

You can also use a maintenance program like "Onyx" to clear your caches.
The latest Onyx actualy has a cache cleaning option which by default won't clear the caches of applications using Audio Units so the user doesn't have to go thru all the trouble of rescanning after every maintenance run.
As a side comment to add to this thread. Whenever I clean my cache for GB I always have a problem later with GB initializing. I have a zillion AU's and a few of them hang up GB after a cache cleaning and GB will initilize forever.
I found that to get around this problem I wait for the problem AU's to display their warning windows and then I force quit GB and start it again. After that GB will start right up for me at least with all the AU's scanned and no other problems.

  • Audio unit where is it?

I downloaded a demo version of a virtual keyboard as a audio unit, but I don't see it nowhere in garageband or anywhere on my computer. Can somebody help me? thanks.

Is it a Universal (Intel compatible) plugin? (Assuming you have an Intel Mac.) How did you install it?
