List validation rule violations in Access 2013
In my list,
column validation is working good.
but in the access 2013
, there will be validation rule violations,
Can anyone tell me why?

According to your description, the formula in use not working well in Access 2013.
I can reproduce this issue in my environment, seems that this formula is not compatible with Access 2013.
As a workaround, if there is a need to validate the number type of value, you can use a Number column to hold the input value instead. By default, the Number column
only accept number type of value.

Access 2013 and SharePoint Foundation/Server 2010
I have a real simple scenario that keeps happening.
I simple click external data -> More -> SharePoint List from Access 2013 and point it to a SharePonint 2010 list ... then link the list. It will link and show the data. Once... After closing the access file, it just freezes when opening
it again.
I've tried this on several windows clients (win7 and 8) and 2 different SharePoint 2010 installs (1 being Foundation, the other being Server). Both are service packed.
Any ideas?I believe i too am running into this issue.
I have a CRM application i created in Access 2010 which links to lists on Sharepoint Foundation 2010 (As bundled with Small Business Server 2010) using SSL. I have this application running on various client machines, some on the local network and some via
the internet. Until now we have been entirely Access 2010 and whenever a new client was required i just copied over the Access front end and it just worked.
We have a new PC which has Win7 Pro 64bit and Office 2013 Pro. I copied over the front end but when i try and open one of the linked sharepoint lists Access just hangs with the spining circle. I have no problem accessing these lists on SP via Internet Explorer
and furthermore if i select "Open with Access" and link a list it then opens within Access 2013 OK, (although Windows Security does prompt for the users password). However, if i save this database and re-open it i can no longer open the list!!
I have noticed that if i run Access 2013 as administrator and open the front end application then there is no problem.
Possible permissions issue???
If i repeat what Eric describes, Access 2013 shows me all the lists on out SP site and successfully links it (i.e. It appears under Tables) however, unlike Eric the list won't open (not even once). -

However you can create a custom-validation rule and perform such bind params and execute queries. We do have plans to support named paramters in queries that will allow us to enable this feature on validators as well. -
How to Enforce Sharepoint 2013 content type validation rules when modifying document using Word 2013
Good day,
I have two date columns (Start Date and End Date) in a content type in Sharepoint 2013. A file library uses this content type.
In the document template I have the two dates (Start Date and End Date) showing in the Document Panel. I can edit them well enough and they show in the document correctly.
In the content type I have validation rules that the End Date must be greater than the Start Date.
The question is, how can I enforce this validation on the client side in Word. Is there anyway to achieve this?
The user will not have access to change the document properties in Sharepoint. (Not my call)
Thank-you!The "panel" is called the Document Information Panel in SharePoint. You can customize this using InfoPath from the page where you created / edited your Content Type. Go to Settings, Site Settings Content Types, edit your content type, click Document
Information Panel and then click "Edit this template". In InfoPath you can create a Rule to enforce your dates.
This may require the Enterprise Edition of SharePoint to support the InfoPath Forms Services.

Hello,
I am having trouble with my infopath form now that I have linked my Sharepoint list to an Access database.
Background: I created a simple SharePoint list and a few workflows to have users submit requests for changes to my organization's EMR system and have those requests be approved by the appropriate manager/department. I used
InfoPath to customize my form so that it would hide/show different portions depending on what the user selected. The form has 3 views: NewItem, EditItem, ViewItem.
Issue: The form and workflows were working great until I linked my SharePoint list to an access database so that I could run queries and reports using that information. Now when I click "Add New Item" on my Sharepoint site,
the correct form opens but the fields do not allow me to input any data and some of the formatting for the form has changed (ie: the text boxe fields are no longer centered. I opened the form in InfoPath and it displays perfectly fine in there but
not once it's published to the site) .
The only way that I've been able to input new data is using Datasheet view in SharePoint.
Is there a way to fix this issue? I really need to be able to have the customized forms for users to fill out the information since most users are not familiar enough with SharePoint to expect them to be able to use Datasheet view to submit their requests.
Again, I'm using InfoPath 2013, Access 2013 & SharePoint Server 2010
If the issue cannot be fixed, how can I disconnect or unlink my SharePoint list from the Access database because when I cliecked on "delete list" from inside Access, a warning popped up stating that it will also delete the list off of SharePoint
as well. If I can get the list back to the state it was in before linking to Access then I'll be happy enough to export it excel and then importh the excel file to Access as a work around for reporting purposes since I don't have to run the reports that
often.

I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, however the InfoPath form was not affected if I used the list as external data in Access database.
The issue may be due to the browser you used.
I recommend to verify the things below:
Change another browser to see how it works.
Add the site to the trusted zone and add to compatibility settings in Internet Explorer.
Test with a new list to narrow down the issue scope.
As a workaround, you can save the list as a template including content, and then create a new list based on this template.

Conditional Execution of Validation Rule defined in EO

I'm developing a web application using jdeveloper 11.1.0.3
I have a drop down list with some values. There is a compare validation rule defined in EO object for an attribute. But I dont want to fire this validation only when a certain value from the drop down list is selected.
When we go to edit option of this validation rule there is a tsb called validation execution. I want to know how to fill conditional execution area to full fill my problemYou can create a Groovy expression in the 'Validation Execution' tab to return true based on which the validation rule will be applied. The new value of the attribute can be accessed via the attribute context validation variable 'newValue'

Validation Rule on Payment block

Need your expert advice on below scenario
Specific users are allow to remove payment block of Document posted of specific vendors, can you please provide what logic I use in GGB0 Validation rule.
Logic used by me is under prerequisit:
Company Code = '1100' AND Vendor = 'vendor Number' AND User Name <> 'User ID'

Your logic will work. It will have side effects - but if you take another approach, there will be others (perhaps more serious ones). So, I would suggest going ahead with it and see where it needs to be adjsuted.
Let's list some of the drawbacks, so that you can address them if needed:
* For example, no other user will be able to post or change anything on such a vendor item (not even Text, Assignment etc.) if the payment block is not set. I believe you have to live with it.
* No other user will be able to reverse (trans. FB08 etc.) or unclear (trans. FBRA) such items if they are not blocked against payment. Blocking FBRA is perhaps OK, but I would strongly recommend excluding trans. FB08 from the prerequisites - it is usually a good practice to allow "everything" on reversal, so that any error can be corrected this way.
* If the item is blocked with another indicator (e.g., "R" from logistics invoice verification) then the other users will not be able to do anything with it, either. Do you want the block type to be so specific? If not, then you may consider a blank block in the "check". But this is rather a detail.
Lakshmi also had a good idea to include all such users (and perhaps vendors) in sets (with trans. GS01 / GS02) to make it more flexible to change them as employees move or new vendors become critical. This could however open a "back door" if the access to this set (these sets) is not properly controlled.
I was also thinking about a different approach - to do it through authorization roles and profiles, but it would have much more drawbacks (e.g. with object Accounting Document: Account Authorization for Vendors (F_BKPF_BEK) - only the priviledged group would be able to perform specific actions on such vendor items, whether or not they would be blocked - which would be harsher than you design). So, you are trying the right approach, but it may just be needed to finetune it a little (put some more prerequisites, such as "exclude FB08"). You do it the right way, I believe.

Validation rules applied to data migration templates at import
Hi everyone!
First post here for me, so please bear with me if I missed something.
My company has just started the initial implementation of ByDesign. We come from a set of disparate and partially home-grown systems that we outgrew a few years ago.
As part of this initial phase, we are basically re-creating the data on customers, suppliers, etc. since none of our existing systems makes a good source, unfortunately. We will be using the XML templates provided by ByDesign itself to import the relevant data.
It has become clear that ByDesign applies validation rules on fields like postal codes (zip codes), states (for some countries), and other fields.
It would be really helpful if we could get access to the rules that are applied at import time, so that we can format the data correctly in advance, rather than having to play "trial and error" at import time. For example, if you import address data, the first time it finds a postal code in the Netherlands which is formatted as "1234AB", it will tell you that "there needs to a space in the 5th position, because it expects the format to be "1234 AB". At that point, you stop the import, go back to the template to fix all the Dutch postal codes, and try the import again, only to run into the next validation issue.
We work with a couple of very experienced German consultants to help us implement ByDesign, and I have put this question to them, but they are unaware of a documented set of validation rules for ByDesign. Which is why I ask the question here.
So just to be very celar on what we are looking for: the data validation/formatting rules that ByDesign enforces at the time the XML data migration templates are imported.

The checks performed on postal codes are country specific, and represent pretty much the information that you would find in places like e.g. the "Postal Codes" page in Wikipedia.
I recommend to start with small files of 50-100 records that are assembled of a representative set of different records, in order to collect the validation rules that need reactions based on your data in an efficient way. Only once you have caught these generic data issues, I would proceed to larger files.
Personnaly I prefer to capture such generic work items on my list, then fix the small sample file immediately by editing, and do an immediate resimulation of the entire file, so that I can drill deeper and collect more generic issues of my data sample. Only after a while when I have harvested all learnings that were in my sample file, I would then apply the collected learnings to my actual data and create a new file - still not too large, in order to use my time efficiently.

Hi,
we have just migrated from BPC 7.0 to 10.0 and in the intercompany matching model now users get the error message that their currency translation job fails due to 'Work status rule violation'. In the past we did not have problems with these security and access settings.
Each user group can read&write only to their own entity, but can read all data, in order to see the matching figures from the sister companies.
Work status is set as following for data manager:
Unlocked - All
Submitted company - Mgr
Submitted group - Mgr
Approved group - Locked
Does this mean now in BPC 10.0 that, if any of the other entities has locked its data already, that another entity cannot run the fx translation properly anymore?
In the currency translation package, we have set the option to 'Yes', when asked whether to check for work status settings before running the package.
Would it now be better to set the 'Submitted company' setting in the work status options to 'All'. Or rather create a new 'Submitted intercompany' work status? Or would it not matter, if the users would check the box 'No' in the data package?
Or is this a totally other problem at all?

the simplest solution would be to ask your users not to leave the selection on <all> but select their entity.

Fields missing from dbo.MSP_EpmProject_UserView when connected via ODBC to Access 2013
Odd things here ---
Both the dbo.MSP_EpmProject_UserView and the MSP_EpmProject tables, are missing a number of fields including: ProjectName; ProjectAuthorName; ProjectManagerName, etc. Looked in the schema to make sure I wasn't crazy, and they are listed there
just like in 2007.
Using Project Server 2013 (on-prem) and Access 2013.

5、Where the access crashed I used the ODBC trace to get the trace log of the ODBC API.
The ODBC API called by Access before it crashed are the follows.
I also ansysised the log,and I did not find any Abnormal.

6、I also did the test with the Access 2010,and with the Sql Srever/Oracle.
The results are the follows.
1) With the Access 2010(X86 or X64) and Access 2013 X86,it successes when I export the table to the DB Symfoware.But only with the Access 2013 X64,the Access crashed.
2)With the Access 2010(X86 or X64) and Access 2013(X86 or X64),using the Sql Srever/Oracle,it always successes .
According to all the descrived above, I wonder if it a bug of the Access2013 .
Could anyone can help me ?

I have already install
the latest patches of the Office 2013.But it doesn't work.It is down also too. And ODBC
drive of Database Symfoware is the newest driver of the Database Symfoware. Now I wonder that
if it si a bug of the ODBC
drive of Database Symfoware,I should fix the bug,but I have analysised the odbc trace log and I do not find any wrongs ,so I think maybe it is a bug of the Access .

Error while Loading the validator-rules.xml in Struts 1.2
Hello Guys,
I am trying to use the Struts 1.2.4 on Jdk1.3 inside WSAD5.1 and i get the following error when loading the application. It breaks on the fist line inside validator-rules.xml witht hte following error. My first line in the validator-rules.xml is

I do have the commons-validator inside the Lib folder. I also tried it out by removing the above reference to dtd in the validator-rules.

need a sanity check from those that are further along on this:
1: Made a web database, just tables only, via Access 2013 which defacto is at 365 teamsite... let's call Wdb
Opening then a local traditional database - Lets call Local.accdb, and selecting the option to link to a Sharepoint List - - - that Wdb is not displayed/available so therefore the tables/lists inside are not either.... that's the first sanity check
point. whether there is any way to link to Wdb.
Part deux: With a traditional db i.e. Local.accdb; with local not-split tables - then one can export/split to sharepoint lists - appearantly as long as there are no Look Up type fields....
C: SP lists are only available to a classic FE link only if they are not inside an Access container on SP (i.e. not Wdb)...and so if you had more than 1 classic FE application at the same 365 account one has to be sure that no 2 tables have the same name....because
all tables/lists on SP are co-mingled - - perhaps they can be segregated into folders - am not an SP admin and so inexperienced on that point.....
4: after the split to SP (part deux above) there is a link to a list "User Info" that SP throws in....what is that for? and does it offer a feature to design around/with?
As an aside ; have watched A.Kallal's youtube on this which I remember as publishing via 2010 while here am exclusively in A2013..... the goal, via A2013, is linking a classic FE to the cloud BE.....
experienced advice most welcomed on this.....1/. A Web 2013 db is not a sharepoint list but a SQL Azure database. You will need to link to this via standard remote linking techniques using ODBC with connection strings like

& "UID=db_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_ExternalWriter;database=db_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx;" _

deux/. You can also export to a Azure SQL Server. (ODBC Database)
C/. As i understand it you can link to any lsit that you have permissions for.
4/. (shouldn't this be iv??? as you already used this form! lol) not sure about this never used this feature.
With A2013 linking with ODBC to the SQL Server database as in 1/ above works well. a desktop system will work and share with the cloud.
