Listen to internet radio stream on IPhone

I am broadcasting an internet radio station using NiceCast. I have links for both a Real Player and a Quicktime client for listening. How can I make my stream available to the IPhone?
The link www.jazzknob.org opens with a default link to Real Player. A click will switch to Quicktime. Can I make a third link that the IPhone will listen to? I'm quite surprised that the IPhone doesn't support Quicktime.

My e63 can play it via realplayer using
http://www.rthk.org.hk/live3.ram
you can save as link also..
only down side is that it can't play on background.

I received my week 16 MBP yesterday morning. It has been perfect thus far. Quite the improvment over my old iBook. I do hear some noises rarely but not enough to make me think there is a problem, I believe they are just the standard purrs and ticks of a high-powered computer. It doesn't run hot. I'd say cool to rather warm if used heavily. I hope I have a problem free experiance. I would hate for this product to tarnish Apple's reputation, that would be unacceptable considering this product is amazing. I will say this; I called Applecare, more out of curiousity than anything else and told them that I had just purchased an MBP and, while mine was fine, I had heard allot of disturbing reports about noise and heat. I asked point blank if Apple was aware of any issues and if they where working to resolve it. The answer I got was surprisingly forward. I was informed that they were "VERY" aware and working to correct the issues. He then told me I was lucky to recieve one of the quiet MBPs. I hope they work it out soon.

When I am listening to the radio (streaming through itunes) my macbook pro will log me out, quitting all the applications I have running (often firefox, word processing, itunes, etc). Why?
It's very frustrating and I don't understand why it happens. It might happen other times, but I notice it the most when I'm streaming the radio through itunes, though I think it's also happened when I'm streaming music or shows from NPR, so I don't actually know if it's an itunes thing, or an internet thing? Or just my computer being stupid?  But how can I fix it?
    Thanks!

My best guess at this point is a problem wwith 10.5.8
It seems clear to me that sometimes, seemingly randomly, software will access the video card (flash player, quicktime, Safari's HTML5 video player, etc) and it will cause a freeze and then log out.
However - it could just be video card + processor under load.
This didnt happen before 10.5.8 and I'm thinking it's not the new 27" display causing the issue.
I'm going to attempt to find time to revert back to 10.5.0 and then combo update back up to 10.5.7 which may be difficult as our IT is remote and we don't have access to Snow Leopard discs.
I may just have to bring my own in.

  • Updated player and now cannot listen to internet radio stations - why ?

Updated to 14.0.0.145 the other day and now cannot listen to internet radio stations that worked fine before updating ( WABC , WMAL , KSFO ) . Programs won't download . WMAL's podcast does work , though . No trouble with Youtube , etc...
    I have Windows 7 and IE 10 .
    Can anybody help ?
    Thanks in advance .

Each updated version of Flash Player includes important security updates.  You really want to be running the latest version of Flash Player.
I'm also able to play these streams with no problem.  Have you rebooted since you upgraded?  It's always a good first step for mysterious problems.
If that doesn't work, I'd Uninstall Flash Player | Windows and then do a fresh install from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer before considering downgrading.  That's an unwise course of action.

  • Is it possible to create a link that I can place on a website to an internet radio stream on iTunes?

Is it possible to create a link that I can place on a website to an internet radio stream on iTunes?

Yes, but it WON'T play through the browser. It'll require any visitor who clicks it to have iTunes installed, and it'll open iTunes as soon as they do.

I don't know if this is what you really want, but I created a Playlist for Radio, and add some of the stations I like from websites. (If you click on the web-links they load into iTunes in the Sidebar). And you can also add individual Radio stations from the top right,(under Apple) to a Playlist. That's the only way I know to have them in the Sidebar.
Z_ZS-B, You also helped me to find the old Radio list! I didn't even know it was up on the right, under Apple. I haven't liked this version of iTunes so I hadn't even bothered to try and figure it out until now, but because I just bought a my first iPod Shuffle I'm determined to bend this version to my will. ;-)

  • ITunes 11.1.4 for mac not playing Internet radio streams

I updated the iTunes app a couple of days ago and in exploring international internet radio streams, I noticed that none of them work.
Anyone else having the same issue with the latest iTunes update?

    sberman,
Thanks for the link. I've seen that page before and tried everything on it, but I'm still having the problem. From what I read in other threads, so are many other people.

  • Recording internet radio streams...

Does anyone know of an effective means of recording internet radio streams as .mp3 or .ogg files? I did a LITTLE bit of searching and only found stuff for windows.

If I remember well, I managed to record video brodcasts from the Internet using mplayer. It is full of options and it might be a place to start. The thing is that the video I've recorded was of fixed length and I believe you want to capture live radio.

  • Has anyone noticed you can now listen to internet radio stations with TV?

I just noticed this last night. Months ago many of us were complaining of the inability to listen to internet radio stations on TV.
I had created a folder in iTunes for Internet radio stations. Last night I noticed those stations are all showing up on my TV screen and I can listen to them. Maybe this was added during Apple's last update?
    I like it!

no it's been around since 2.0.1 or something
    but it seems unstable
havent tested if it's still the case but people
reported in this forum that a boot of the atv
mean one have to delete the playlist
and make a new one to get the radio to work
and not long ago a guy reported that after a few hours
listning to radio the atv crash

  • Listening to XM and/or Sirius Radio Streams on iPhone

Hey everyone! I did a little research today, and found an easy (relatively) way to listen to XM or Sirius radio on the iPhone. First off, this is NOT a hack, and requires no installs on the iPhone. All this requires is a Windows PC (sorry, mac-users...I have a mac too, but my wife has a PC, so I used hers), an Orb account (free), Windows Media Player and a program called UXM. Again, this is not a hack, just a way for iPhone users to enjoy XM. (I do not take responsibility for anything anyone does, as the following instructions were not written by me. I have taken them from everythingiphone.com, and all rights etc. belong to them) cheers! It works well, not really ideal but its a start.
"Things you will need to get started.
    1. An xm subscription
    2. uXM from http://www.millardsoftware.com/
    3. Orb server from orb.com
    4. An iPhone
Download an install uXM (to the PC). Click the settings button and enter your email address and password you use to stream xm online.
    Click start.
Download and install the orb server (again, PC). Part of the install process will help you create an orb account. Once you have uXM and orb running on your PC (I could not get this to work in parallels on my mac) go back to the orb.com on your PC and sign in/orb 2.0.
    Click Open Application.
    Click Audio.
Click Favorite Channels under internet radio.
Click the 'add custom' link that is on the top of the page.
Type in the xm channel name.
Double click the uXM logo in your tray (next to the clock) and click the URLS button. Choose the xm channel you want to stream from the pull down menu.
    Click the clipboard button.
Return to the orb website and paste the url in the url field.
    Click save.
Now get out your iPhone and go to orb.com and sign in.
    Click Audio.
    Click Internet Radio Favorites.
Click the channel icon for the channel you just saved.
    Click play.
Click the small play arrow in the lower right corner of the QT screen.
Your stream should start. Mine seems to hung up at about 11 seconds. I just hit the back arrow and click play again and it work fine.
Wash, rinse, repeat for your other favorite xm channels."
Again, to repeat myself, this is not a hack, nor does it violate the iPhone's warranty, etc. It uses safari's quicktime plugin, that's it!
Note: For Sirius users, the UXM website millardsoftware has a Sirius application as well. Just follow the same steps, but on the sirius app. I don't have Sirius, so I don't know how well it works.

Did you try XM or Sirius? I was able to set up every XM station (except for the sports stations, they aren't available) and give it a thumbnail image like those on the XMRadio Online service. It looks really nice. Plus, with the Orb program (I had never even heard of it until today) you can store playlists of music and stream them from your computer, or listen to other internet radio stations a la the itunes radio stations. Its a lot like DotTunes, but free, so ya know...I haven't tried the other features besides the XM radio. Let me know if anyone else gets this to work. I'd like to think that, ultimately, XM or Sirius would make a Safari plugin that's a little more fancy than this, or maybe Apple will let them have a pretty little icon. Someday...

  • Is there a way to access internet radio streams using "Remote"?

    Hi all,
I just installed Apple Remote from the apps store and really enjoy it! The only thing that is missing is that I can't find the list of internet radio stations as listed on iTunes.
I really enjoy listening to a few streams so if anyone knows where this is in the app (if it exists), please let me know! Otherwise, a great app especially with Airport Express!
    Thanks, Dan

The Remote app accesses the iTunes Library contents - since streams are not really "in" your library (they're links, really), it makes sense that you cannot access them.
But, you can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.
