go to http://metalink.oracle.com and ask your question there.
This forum can't be bothered to do your work for free, especially when you provide 0 relevant information and didn't even start with the most basic investigations.
This is obviously because you refuse to read any documentation
Or better still: go to your boss, resign and find a less challenging job.
You can't earn your money dumping all of your work in a forum of volunteers.

  • Multiple Oracle Homes - Oracle Listener failes to start after installation

Just in case the listener fails to start after an oracle installation, please check the oracle ports in the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora, both of which are present in the following directory:
    ...\oracle\<SID>\<Ver>\NETWORK\ADMIN
All installations should have separate listener ports eg. If the first installation has port 1527, the next one should be 1528 and so on..
If they do not, manually change the ports and start the listeners.
Also check SAP Note 98252. Although I didn't find it necessary (I think it applies only if you have a single listener for all oracle homes), it did give me an idea that there some config problem in the .ora files.
Also see [this thread|Oracle Listener error in Import ABAP phase?; for related details

    hi
    thanks for the help ,
I have been using the SQL Server , i am totally blank about Oracle
i am totally confused with this user, and hoststring
i logged in to the enterprise manager using System and manager password
But i cannot connect to any database using SQL Server
i am not remembering any user name or password i have given during installation.
the only thing i remember is
Global databasename = (globedb) i have given
For SID = globedb the same name i have given
for sys ,i have given sysdb as password
and for system i have given systemdb as password
with this can i do anything
when expand the schemas ,i can see the XDB,SCOTT and SYS . how can i login to this .
if i want to login to the scott
what would be the username, password, and hoststring. since i haven't set any password and username ,there would be some default username ,password, and hoststring.
if any one can help me please help me
    thanks regards

Best Regards. Why do you have two LISTENER sections? That is the section that actually defines the listener. And what is the FINTRAKDUMP section supposed to be?
Delete this mess and start over, using netca to create it. You only need one listener, default name of LISTENER, and only one SID_LIST section, named SID_LIST_LISTENER. Anything more is error-prone and unnecessary complications.

  • Java.rmi.server.ExportException: Listen failed on port: 1099;

    Hi All,
I am trying to run RMI tutorial from sun's java tutorial. It has 8 parts. The last two parts are "Compiling the Example Programs" and "Running the Example Programs".
Until "Compiling the Example Programs", I am okay.
But I am stuck in the last part, "Running the Example Programs". When I use the command "rmiregistry", it gives me a list of exceptions as follows.
    c:\home\ann\src>rmiregistry

    ... 7 more
    c:\home\ann\src>
Then, I try to use "start rmiregistry" command. At that time, a command window stating the above exception popup just for a while and closed automatically.
Now, I use jdk1.6.0_16 on Windows Vista.
Previously, I used j2sdk1.4.2_19. That time, I could run "start rmiregistry" properly and could try testing another RMI example application.
But if I use j2sdk1.4.2_19, compiling some statements in the sun's RMI tutorial gives me error. So, I change to use jdk1.6.0_16 for this tutorial. "jdk1.6.0_16" compiles all programs in the tutorial with no error. But I can't run the statement "start rmiregistry".
I use the command prompt from Vista's default Administrator account and already disable User Account Control too.
    Any help, please!
    Thanks a lot,

  • 'ORA-12500: TNS: Listener failed to start a dedicated server process'

    Hi,
While connecting from one database to another users are getting the below error when they are giving a select statement, its taking around 30 minutes and showing
'ORA-12500: TNS: Listener failed to start a dedicated server process'...
    What could be the issue...
    Thanks,
    Kr.

If database to which they are trying to connect is running, then check listener.log ($ORACLE_HOME/network/log).
Probably there is not enough system resources - check opsystem logs as well (on unix /var/log or /var/adm) on windows look at events.
Look into db alert.log as well.

  • Failsafe listener fail TNS-12532

Have upgraded Oracle from 9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.8 on a microsft clustered system . The database will not start on one of the two servers in cluster , with a failsafe listener fail of TNS-12532 - TNS:Invalid argument .
The listerner.ora has not been changed for 5 years and is exactly the same on each of the two servers in the cluster . Oracle starts properly on th other server .
Any ideas or directions to go .

invalid parameter in listerner.or on one side . 9.2.0.4 overlooked the error, 9.2.0.8 fails though does not report line in error . commented out the invalid argument and all started ok

OWB 11.gR2 client does not run on Windows 64 bit :-)
There is a long thread about here: OWB 11gr2 on Windows 7 64
Good and clever people have hacked their way into making it work, but to my knowledge there is not yet a supported solution, other than running the client on a 32 bit os l.
A new patch have just been released for OWB11gR2. Search for patch: 13365457 on support.oracle.com

  • [SOLVED] Nvidia and Xorg 1.8: Failed to Increase Resolution

    Hi there,
with the new Xorg 1.8 I experienced the following Problem:
When booting my system, the screen is set to 1680x1050 resolution which works fine.
To play some games, I use to change the screen resolution to 1024x768 via xrandr.
But when I try to set the resolution back to anything bigger than 1024x768, both xrandr and nvidia-settings fail.
    Output of xrandr:
    $ xrandr -s 1680x1050
Failed to change the screen configuration!
    $ xrandr --verbose -s 1680x0105
Size 1680x105 not found in available modes
Trying to change the Resolution back to 1680x1050 by nvidia-settings:
    Failed to set MetaMode (1) 'DFP-0: 1680x1050 @1680x1050 +0+0' (Mode 1680x1050, id: 63) on X screen 0
Would you like to remove this MetaMode?
Then I try restarting my XServer (to get back the 1680 res), it crashes with following error message:
    /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    (II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "nvidia-auto-select"
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to allocate primary buffer: out of memory.

  • HELP! Oracle FailSafe - Listener fails when adding standalone database

Well, I have a cluster of two nodes with the following specs:
    (1) an Oracle 10g database each
    (2) Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS)
    (3) Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition
    (4) Intel Itanium Processor
    (5) Oracle Failsafe 3.3.3 for Windows 2003 64-bit
The 64-bit Oracle Failsafe doesn't come with Oracle Failsafe Manager, so I used a Failsafe Manager remotely from another clustered servers. The version is also 3.3.3, but it's running on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Well, after connecting to the 64-bit cluster, I added the standalone database to a Cluster Group. There are two cluster groups on the Server:
(1)"Cluster Group" (the default cluster group created by MSCS); containing an IP address, a network name, Oracle Cluster Services, and the Quorum hard drive.
(1)"ORACLE DB" A cluster gropu I created for the database; containing another IP address, a network name for the IP address, and every hard drive volumes of the database files.
The database currently resides on the Node 2 (because I created it there). I have successfully verified the database (using "Verify Standalone Database" option). BUT when I added the database into the cluster group ORACLE DB, it failed with the following message:
23 20:48:48 ** ERROR : FS-10066: Failed to start Windows service OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener for the Oracle Net listener
When I opened the Windows Event Viewer, apparently the Listener Service had started, but it soon "terminated unexpectedly":
At first, the Listener Service appeared to be started:
But this is what happened next; it seemed the Listener Service terminated abruptly after entering the running state for a very short time:
What happened? What should I do? What is the problem? Many thanks!
PS: the following are the messages from both Verifying Standalone Database and Adding Standalone Database. The verification was successfull, but I just failed to add the database:
