RatanHi Ratan,
This seems to be a known bug in the kernel, in the C-function DiagoTabFocusColumn is in the kernel patch 117, so it occurs in the kernel 701 patch 117.
If this is your case, then to eliminate the issue please install the latest kernel(disp+work) patch.
You can find latest kernel at:
http://service.sap.com/patches
Then apply the patch as mentioned in note:
19466 Downloading SAP kernel patches
in section: 'Copying and installing a patch'
This should fix the issue.

So you would be better to contact to the Oracle
support as soon as you can.ORA-00600 is not necessarily a fatal error.

How can i start Terminal automatically? Best Terminal f.p3?
Hi!
How can i start Terminal automatically?
I want, that the or a terminal starts, after i am logged in in gnome? Which Terminal ist the best for a p3 700MHz? Xterm?
Thank you
bennyTo autostart applications, like ur terminal, u can go in the menu to "System" -> "Settings" -> "Sessions" and a windows opens in which u can achieve this and a bit more.
"Best" terminal in gnome would gnome-terminal. First try that one and if its too slow for some reason for you u might try urxvt. xterm is of course pretty small and fast, but lacks some neat features imo

KSGLooking further, you should be able to follow this note :
Basic Steps to be Followed While Solving ORA-00600 [4194]/[4193] Errors Without Using Unsupported parameter ID 281429.1+
Basically, go to a manual undo management, create a new rollback segment, drop the old undo, create a new one, go back to auto undo management.
Of course, you should first take a full backup of your database before touching anything.
Of course, you should first analyze deeper your different log file and see if this qould help.

Native process killed/terminated automatically
Hi there,
We have developed Mpeg-2 format streams Scheduling Aplication using JAVA
that invokes a native WIN32(dll) library through JNI.
This Win32(dll) Library further instantiate a COM Executable Server
(CVPROS~1.EXE). The transmission starts sucessfully. But the EXE server
is killed/terminated automaically without raising some exception at some
unpredictable interval of time. It looks the COM EXE server is sub
process of native WIN32Dll and JVM and JNI has not its direct reference.
1- Possibly it look that Java's Garbadge collector kills this process
assuming that its not being refered any where in project .
2- Its being terminated due to some architectural problem .
NOTE: if this Win32Dll is invoked through Win32 Client it works fine and
COM exe Server is never termiated automatically.
help required ???
Thanks in advance. And why do you think it is being killed rather than it is terminating itself?
If exit() is called in the C code, or some variation thereof, then the application will exit.
If System.exit() is called in java then a java app will exit. -
Terminal automatically executes sudo command on opening?
I am running Lion 10.7.5. I tried to execute a sudo command but remembered i did not have sudo privleges on my account so i logged onto the root user and executed it there. Getting back on my regular account i opened terminal but it automatically executed the sudo command again and if i exceeded the password attemp limit it just re executed the command and looped infinently. I now cannot use terminal on my account. I have deleted com.apple.Terminal.plist from its location and still nothing.
Did you accidentally put a sudo command into one of the following files?
.bash_profile
.bash_login
.profile
.bashrc
Or does one of the above files run a script that tries to execute sudo?
If you cannot get a command prompt you can use Terminal -> Shell -> New Command to issue one command at a time.

Oracle 11g XE listener does not start automatically during boot
Hi,
This happened to me recently I just wanted to share it with you.
For development I was running Standard Edition, at some point I decided to run also XE on the same server for another reasons. Everything was working fine, except that after restart of the server, the XE listener is not starting automatically. Debugging the startup script I found that this happens because of a bug in the code, which assumes that XE listener is running if it finds the word LISTENER within the processes list. I didn't found any obligation in the docs for running XE without any other databases on the same host.
In file /etc/init.d/oracle-xe, at line 556 the code is failing:
1 + status='oracle 2889 1 0 May13 ? 00:00:05 /oracle/ora112se/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit'
2 + '[' 'oracle 2889 1 0 May13 ? 00:00:05 /oracle/ora112se/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit' == '' ']'
As you can see I have another listener(the one for SE) running and because of the XE startup script found the keyword LISTENER it’s supposing that the XE LISTENER is already running.
To fix this simply change line 556 from:
1 status=`ps -ef | grep tns | grep oracle`
To:
1 status=`ps -ef | grep tns | grep oracle | grep xe`
Now XE listener is started automatically during boot.
Sve
Blog: http://sve.to
Twitter: sgyurovI though the same thing, but XE LISTENER is running on localhost and port 1522. On the other hand XE have local_listener explicitly set to the very same connection descriptor. Even XE installation was second on this server.
I've could change that yes, but the startup script doesn't seemed to have this mind.

Hi at all.... I'm a newbie with database oracle.,
I have the follow problem:
I installed Oracle Database 11g R2 XE on my guest operating system CentOS 6.5.
I have changed the hostname in my SO CentOS (where is installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after installation was completed successfully.
-) Before and during installation the hostname was localhost.
-) After installation I changed the hostname in VMCentOS
From the moment I changed the hostname, nothing starts up automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not starts up automatically.
When I starts up the listener manually and I try to connect to database instance with SQLPLUS i get this error:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
I think that the problem is due to the changed hostname because I, for testing and debugging purpose, re-installed a new OS CentOS virtual machine, re-installed oracle database 11g and I have not got that problem. The database instance and the listener starts up automatically!
Can any one tell me if maybe the problem is related to the hostname changed? ... and Why?
P.S.: After changed the hostname I have also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by modifying the HOST with the correct hostname.-) Output of command chkconfig (there isn't any line oracle-xe 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off):

following is the code of my shell, which i use for starting, stopping, restarting teh oracle and listener service, except your oracle home location and oracle user i do not think you need to change any thing..also i assume that you some basic knowledge of shell programming.
put this /etc/rc.d/init.d, then add this service by chkconfig -- add oracle (if oracle is the file name in whcih this shell exists).
it will run for 3,4,5 of runlevels with priority as 20, 80

Having your computer automatically type in a command on terminal on restart
Hi, I am having trouble with terminal. I have a command that i use on my computer that I use and have to retype in every time on restart. they are chmod commands. I use two of them. Is there any way to either save them or have them entered into terminal automatically. It is getting quite annoying writing the codes in every time I use my computer.
Thanks, MichaelDo you mean at restart? or at login?
There are different approaches to each.
If you mean restart then you should write your commands into a shell script file and launch that via launchd by creating a .plist in /Library/LaunchDaemons
This will execute the script automatically (and silently - Terminal.app doesn't even come into the equation here).
You can also do the same thing if you just need it at login, but at that point it's probably just easier to save the shell script and drop it into your Login Items (System Preferences -> Accounts -> (your account) -> Login Items) This will then open as soon as you login to the system. -
Hi,
I am getting the error "TNS:12541 No listener" when I'm logging in to the oracle.I'm able to log in properly, but when I have added one new database manually then I am facing this issue. TNS listener got stopped automatically. When I start the service it is giving me the error ""Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly".
How can I solve the issue. Can anyone please guide me in step by step as I am a tester and I dont know deep in oracle.I have gone through many forums and I am unable to solve the issue. Many are telling that start the listener. How can we do that? And also I have checked the dbname, sid and port number in tnsnames.ora all are correct.
My work has been sopped with this issue. Can someone guide me quickly.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
SudheerHey I have solved the solution. As I have added new database manually, I have copied a listener file in to that folder. Today morning I have deleted the file from that folder and tried to open the data base. It gave me another error saying that oracle not valid. I have logged in to sys/sys as sysdba and dont shutdown and started it again. Then it is working fine
Thanks a lot for your replies.

/usr/sap/SOT/SYS/exe/run/startdb: Terminating with error code 14
I could start the listner with the oracle user manually
and afterward start the stardb or startsap. When i first
start the listener that way then it is possible to start
startsap or stardb with no problem. But why do i have
to start the listener by hand?
best regards,
Ly-Na PhuHi Naidu,
thanks for you answer. Now i understand that the listener
ist not configured by sapinst automatically and that one
have to start it manually. At windows sapinst do that and
the listener ist comming automatically when booting.
At linux it has to be put in the startup procedure e.g.
in the runlevel 3 rc3.d. If not doing so we have to start
the listener manually. But everything else work fine.
Thanks,
Ly-Na Phu
