Listening to an e-book synchronized to Zen Mi

When you download an e-book to your computer it is necessary as most people know that a license has to be downloaded also so that you can listen to the book?on your computer. This license usally has a life span of thirty days after which the book cannot be played.Question:? If the book is synchronized from the computer to my Zen Micro will I be able to listen to it after the original license expiration date? If not, what would be the best way to reactivate the book on the Zen Micro? Will it be necessary to remove the book from my player and then synchronize it again to the player after renewing license on the computer?Lot of questions, but I would appreciate any information anyone can give me. Thanks.

Since this is a audio book I borrowed from my library it is protected(drmv) and does not appear in itunes. Howerever it appears on my IPOD touch  music app under Audio Books

  • Audio Books on teh Zen Visio

I just got my Creative Zen Vision M today with the intention of loading all my audio books on it. Then I discovered that it sorts in alphabetical order. Can anything be done to change this?

    Jason and Super Contributor:
Thank you so much for responding. I've read just about everything you suggested. I'm not sure I even understand "ripping." Guess I have a long, long way to go. Maybe answers to a few specific/basic questions will get me going.
. Since almost all of the articles only refer to "music," should I assume everything is the same for an audio book?
    2. What format do I want to use for the audio book? One of the articles stated there was a big difference in the space used to record, depending on format.
    3. Do you know what format an audio book comes in?
What I am trying to do is put a few books on the Zen that can be listened to while driving on a vacation. Actually, I got 2 of the Zens', so my intention is to record the books on my Zen and my wife's Zen. Can time be saved in the downloading process to put the same info on two different units?
FYI, I've never even downloaded any music, so I really feel at a loss right now.
    Any more direction? Thanks again.

  • Can I listen to my audio books with my bluetooth earpiece on my iphone 4S?

Can I listen to my audio books with my bluetooth earpiece on my iphone 4S?

    Of course you can:
put the music on, press the home button once (the player gets away, but the music still plays), open the bookreader and read the book.
The music plays as long as you do not END the player by double clicking the home button and then holding the player icon until it wiggles and tap the red minus sign).

  • When listening to an audio book it freezes after about 10 minutes. I have done a soft reset, I have deleted the audio book and re- installed. My music plays with no problem.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Address List in listener.ora different in book than in my own

IN the book I am following, I have this sample fo a listener file:
    LISTENER=
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS_LIST=
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = dfc-david)(PORT = 1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC0)))
Yet in my own listner file I have this:
    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC0))
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = dfc-david)(PORT = 1521))
This becomes a tad confusing later when I read that it is the DESCRIPTION parameter that contains the listener protocol addresses. Yet looking at mine, I would say that it is the DESCRIPTION_LIST parameter.
Am I just quibbling? I dont want to quibble! But I would ike to know why there is this difference.
    Cheers.

    Hi Dear,
Don't get confused with this small difference ..... your book may contains only the neccessary part and there can be many more things which are not specified in your book.....

  • When listening to an audio book the ipod nano (6th generation) keeps turning off?

Help!  I just purchased an ipod nano (6th generation) for the sole purpose of listening to audio books.  When I start a book about 20 seconds into it the screen goes dark and  the ipod stops...then I have to turn the on/off switch on to begin the book again.  I'm sure it has something to do with the settings, but I cannot locate the information I need in the ipod manual.  Any help anyone can give me would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I saw your other post, but thought I would reply here as well. It is all about getting that headset seated all the way. If you can see any silver of the plug, it is not in far enough. Push harder. If it just won't go in, look in there to see if it is blocked. The bottom of the headset port is white, so if it appears all dark at the bottom... something is in there.

  • Do I have to listen to all audio books using itunes if I'm in the car?

I downloaded a free audio book from audioBKshelf and wanted to listen in the car.  In order to hear the book while driving  I think I have twp choices
A- buy speakers so I can hear the book over the road noise or
B -move this free book into iTunes.
Is there anyway to move the free audio book to iTunes.  It didn't come over when I synced.

You don't need to sign into iCloud on your PC to access previously purchased iTunes music.  You only need to redownload it with iTunes, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.

  • Converting Audio book cds to Zen Nano P

Hi all,?I have been reading all the posts relating to "audio books" and there are a?lot. I am a complete beginner in this area and have reached a very confused state. Is there a "Best Way" to?transfer the CD information to the Nano player, ie, in folder form with the tracks?that were ripped from the cd in the folder for that cd, ie, Book A Disk2 or some such. Also how do I start the playing, from the folder view or the file view? If in either view, does the plyer reach the last track in Book A Disk2 folder and stop or does the player start playing track in Book A Disk3. If it does continue to play, is there a method to have it stop at each the bottom of each folder?Sorry for being so wordy but I really am new at this. Thanks for all your help in advance.Curtis.Message Edited by ckbrownla on 08-3-20070:52 PM

MIDI files are not supported on the player. There should be some third party applications on the web you can use to convert MIDI files to WAV or MP3 files. A Google search (for <EM>MIDI converter</EM>) brought up a few hits.
Another way to "convert" them would be to play the MIDI files, and to record what you're hearing (make sure to check your soundcard's mixer settings, and set the recording slider to What U Hear if you can).

  • Subscriber/listener in servlet environment is synchronous???

A subscriber thread is started in the servlet environment and a
listener is attached to the subscriber. A publish message is sent to
the topic from the servlet. When publisher puts a message on to the
topic, the listener is reading the message, however the publish is not
able to put a new message until the listener subscribes the posted
              message.
This happens on Oracle 9iAS and OC4J/JMS provider.
Note that running the subscriber thread as a standalone program does
not hold up the publisher thus enabling it to post multiple messages
while the listener is reading the previous message.
Why would the subscriber work from a standalone program while it does
not work from the servlet environment??????

Asynchronous listeners inside an app server are specifically prohibited
by the J2EE specifications. BEA does not officially support them.
That said, the publisher should not block. I recommend
contacting customer support. Meanwhile, what is your
              version and service-pack number.

  • Reading Books on Creative Zen Visi

A week ago i bought that Media Player.
And i was really shocked when i've found out that i won't be able to read books on it. A wanted to ask if it is real to create some software for reading? Is it possible( i mean, from yr point of view)))

ssorra wrote:You know, i've consulted with programmers and they said that it's not a problem for creators of that device to do smt like that).
But that would not help you as Creative would create a new product around this functionality - they aren't likely to add that functionality to an existing player.
Other companies have been trying to get a book-reading device working properly for over a decade now with limited success - perhaps your programmer friends should create their own and clean up on the market?
Anyway, don't you think it would be getting away from Creative's core market of audio/video players?

  • Downloading a book on CD to my Zen Nano Plus mp3 pla

Does anyone know the best way to download a cd book to my Zen Nano plus Player?
    thanks
    pejid

I have a MuVo TX FM for audio books, but I imagine the procedure would be the same for your Zen Nano.
There may be faster/easier ways, but this is what I do:
I use the "Free CD Ripper" (http://koyotstar.free.fr) to rip the CDs to MP3 files on my computer. Each disk's files are stored in a separate folder. I use the book name and disk number for the album name (e.g. Book Title 0). Go to the configuration screen to set the file name to be Album - Track (%A - %N). I find ripping at 48Kbps is sufficient for my ear and it saves space. After that, I can just copy the folders to my player and listen. On my player everything is played in alphabetical order, so the above naming scheme works quite well.
As an improvement, you can use MP3 Book Helper (http://mp3bookhelper.sourceforge.net/) to rename the tracks from "Track 0" to include the book name, disk number and track: "Hobbit 0-05". On my player there is about 6 characters of space available for displaying the track name while playing and it is nice to easily see where you are in the book.
Finally, note that some Creative players have a 40 folder and 500 file limit on what they can detect/play. So you need to be careful not to overfill your player. It won't hurt it, but some files and folders won't be playable. To fully use the space available, you could use an MP3 Joiner to combine the files together in order to stay under the limit. At this point I haven't bothered with this step since I can still store two books without exceeding the limit.
    Good luck,
    Doug

  • Audio books on ZEN X-Fi2

I have loaded one audio book (wma) onto the X-fi2 player. When you look at the properties on the PC it shows the book duration is 2:54:55 and when you view the Zen via the PC the same information is shown. However, when I play the book and display the info the duration is 00:0:50. I can play the book and listen to it but once it has passed the 00:0:50 I can't set a bookmark that returns me to the location. Instead it returns me to the END of the book. I really want the Zen for listening to audio books and my old Rio broke so I must replace it. If I can't get an audio book to play and be able to find the location when I return to it, then I must send this Zen back. Another question...when listening to the audio book, can you turn off the Zen and turn it back on and return to the exact place to continue listening or must you use the bookmark? Appreciate ANY help.

figured out one problem, it was the book that was the issue. Apparently the book copy on NetLibrary doesn't have all the tags. When I moved another book over to the Zen, it worked just fine. Could turn it off and it would resume on turnon and you could bookmark it. How do you correct a book that doesn't work?
I have found that when I download from NetLibrary a book that comes thru without the correct tags must be re-downloaded. For some reason it only happens when I use FireFox to download but not always. When I change & use Internet Explorer it will download correctly. You can't correct what is basically a corrupt file. Also netLibrary has excellent & fast support.

I would like to listen to audio books on my Zen Micro, but I understand this can be trricky with different formats available. Has anyone had experieince with audio books on the micro? Where are the best places to download from? What formats should I be looking for?
    Thanks for any information!

Audiobooks are the main reason I got a Zen Micro. I would hate to think that there will be any issues. I just got it today. Had it shipped to work, so can let you know tonight/tomorrow what luck I have with Audiobooks.
I don't foresee any problems. I did alot of research before I bought it and I think this thing will play most anything I throw at it.
